I was fortunate enough to see Chris twice. He was and is still one of my favorite country artists. I may not have known him personally but I believe he was the true, honest, hardworking, family man that he lead us to believe and there isn't anything better or sexier than that. ;) ?? RIP Cowboy..
October 08, 2014
I found Chris' name in a library book of "Celebrating the States - Wyoming," while he was still living (1999). His bio was listed in a chapter titled "Making A Mark" along side other Wyomingite's such as Shoshone chief Washakie, Buffalo Bill Cody, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid & Harrison Ford. Chris now "belongs to the ages" & will not be soon forgotten!

I'm certain God loves listening to Chris sing, and there are special horses in Heaven that a no-longer-ill cowboy finds joy in scratching between their jawbones or watching them frolic. God blessed us with Chris for what seems to us like a short time, but his voice & songs ride with us forever!

He is still an inspiration to me. He sung with passion in every song!!! The one thing about Chris that stood out was that he was Very well known for LOVING his WIFE which was very Honorable because most when they have reached the top they dont recognize their mate. I have heard that he was a great father and that is very special and should be recognize more often for this. I do believe that they should play his songs more often on the radio. I am very glad that I found this site so I could pay my respect to such a great man.
July 20, 2011
I had seen Chris many time live and he always put on one hell of a show. My wife had never seen him play, so I got tickets to the grand re-opening of the Celbrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ. third row best I had ever had. Long story short my wife threw her boot on the stage, he signed the whole side of it, that was the only one he signed all night. That boot will never leave our posession.

While moving to Montana, we had stopped in this local diner, in Kaycee, Wy. one morning. They were short of help, so I offered to help, the owner, serve her customers...Chris Ladoux, & his family, were one of their guests.. I did not know at the time, who he was, but I do remember, asking him to set his coffee cup, down on the table, so that I would not spill hot coffee on his hand, by mistake. I think back now, & I am so honored & proud, to of been able to this...He & his wife were so nice...just like 'normal' people...

December 22, 2009
8 years ago I saw Chris once in San Bernadino myself. It was obvious he was just a country gentleman who just happened to have an amazing stage show.

Chris inspires me as a musician to be who I am and not what I think others would prefer me to be. We may not have him with us but everything he was will never be taken away.

Thanks to the family for giving Chris the freedom to discover all the things he's taught us.
October 16, 2009

In the ninties I worked a a country radio station just outside Chicago. At a summer festival, Chris was scheduled to play a Sunday afternoon show. The day was very hot and humid, with heavy wind gusts. During the sound check the wind blew down all the the light stands on the stage, and the stage was unsafe to play on. While under the terms of his contract, Chris did not have to play, yet,he and and his band waited several hours in sizzeling heat, and not only played the show, but a little extra for all the fans who waited it out with him. He was a gentleman and a true professional.

I still have Chris's poster hanging in my garage to help me just ledoux it! when times get tough!
April 23, 2009
Just as my mom said in her entry it was very sad to hear that Chris passed away. I was only 5, so for me it was very sad. I didn't know much about him, just what my mom has told me. I've become a big fan of his, I wish I had the chance to meet him in person. Love and wishes to the family!!
April 23, 2009
It was very sad when Chris passed away. Even though I didn't know him as well as my mom did, when I hear about him it makes me wish that I did know him. I wish the very best to the LeDoux family. With Love!!
April 23, 2009
i was fortunate enough to live near paso robles, ca, where mr. chris would visit each year for the fair. i went each year to see him and it was always a great show. i had the opportunity to speak with him a number of times and he was a very gracious person. i trust he is enjoying his stay with the lord.
April 23, 2009
I was very heart broken when I heard that Chris passed away. I am proud to say that I knew him as well as the rest of the family. You all are always in my thoughts and prayers. It's never easy saying good-bye to a loved one, not to mention finding the right words to say. I am still brought to tears when I talk to my kids about your wonderful Father. With all my Love!!
March 28, 2009
It's hard to imagine that it has been over 4 years since Chris was called home. His music and legend still has an influence felt to this day. I keep thinking that some new artist will come out and release a Chris song, maybe Look at you girl, and help resurrect his legend back on country radio.
March 27, 2009
This time of year comes and you can't help but think about Chris! We will always have a special place in our hearts for Chris.
Our thoughts are still with you, Peggy, and the family!
MISS YOU CHRIS!!!

The first time i ever heard of chris ledoux, I was in valley ala. And heard a man named JD sing a song I though he wrote it. He laughed about that then he said partner let me show you something, He pulled out a cd case and said help your self to the truck cd player, His horse kept sticking his head in the cab and taking my hat. Let me tell you I am hooked on Chris ledoux music. And I am thankful to JD Lankford for showing me this. I threw out a lot of my cds to make room for my new collection of Chris Ledoux songs. JD wher ever yoy are thank you for this I had to look this up and tell you that Chris s music touched my life I know what it means to be a real cowboy now.

To the best country singer that has ever lived, rodeo rider, and life long friend... You will always be loved and truly missed.

" In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious."

I have a great love for Chris and his music. The way of life is like no other. He is the reason I write songs and ride. I spoke to him once and he talked to me like he knew me all my life. When he died I felt like a part of me and America had gone to be with the lord. I was a a roping when I heard I put my horse in the trailer and sit on the saddle stand said a prayer and cried. I have every cd you can buy. Heck I even traded a ol saddle for one. One time. I am a little over 50 now. But I still ride. And you can bet I still love the life and still love to see young people's faces when they hear a Chris Ledoux song.

August 02, 2007
I love listening to Chris's music. I see wild horses in Cold Creek,Nevada & I think of his song "He rides the wild horses." I own Chris's album "The Anthology."
I listen to it everyday, I never tire of it. He is the most realist guy I can think of. "I can tell through the songs he sings."
I would like to let his family how lucky they are to have had him in their lives. By the songs he sings, this boy has done some traveling.
Corrina Tapoof
August 01, 2007
And he rides the wild horses,
He'll forever ride The Wild Horses. The same blood flows through their veins.
Yes he'll ride the wild horses,
Like the horses he'll never be tamed.
I can only say, that I would've loved to see this guy live in concert. I continue listening to his music.
I give his family my condolences...
Cory Lee

CHRIS WAS MORE THAN JUST AN ENTERTAINER TO FANS IN WYOMING AND
UTAH AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE U.S
HE LIVED EVERY THING HE SANG ABOUT
SO IT WAS TRUE,HONEST AND STRAIGHT
FROM HIS SOUL. HE ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A COUNTRY
BOY AND NOT BE ASHAMED TO COME FROM A SMALL RURAL BACKGROUND AND UPBRINGING. HIS MUSIC UPLIFTED AND
INSPIRED EVERYONE HE PLAYED FOR.
HE WAS A TRUE AMERICAN HERO. I FEEL
GREATFUL THAT I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH
TO LIVE CLOSE ENOUGH TO HIM TO SEE
MOST OF HIS CONCERTS HERE IN UTAH AND WYOMING. IF GOD IS A COWBOY THEN CHRIS WILL BE RIGHT THERE WITH
HIM. HE IS SORELY MISSED, AND WAS ONE OF A KIND. I WISH HIS FAMILY
WELL AND WHEN HIS BAND COMES AROUND I WILL BE THERE TO FEEL OF HIS SPIRIT. THANKS CHRIS FOR YOUR TALENT AND FOR REPRESENTING ALL THATS GOOD ABOUT BEING COUNTRY.

October 03, 2006
His voice is like chestnut colored suede. Soft, tough, true, dependable. All that he is breaks through in his voice and his songs.
Thank God for CD's, radio and iPods so we will never be deprived of something so wonderful. In our house, except for the tears that have been shed, Chris is still around...you can hear him playing either on a guitar or from a stereo somewhere. The days you don't hear him are very far and few between.
I love the way Chris was able to take the everyday life of a cowboy..a true cowboy...and mixed it with rock and roll...pure genius, and more fun than you would ever imagine.

Thanks Chris...for everything...the music you shared, the life you lived, and being the role model for so many...including my son. There is no one in this world I would rather have for my son to look up to than you.
Wild Bill is right....he's not gone...you just can't see him from the road. (Thanks Bill)
October 03, 2006

September 13, 2006
Awesome individual who gave me hope as I served in the military for 24 years. God bless
September 13, 2006
Its amazing how Chris connected with our daughters who at the time they saw him in concert they were 5 and 7 years old they are 7 and 9 now and its by far still there favorite music.
September 13, 2006
I worked one of Chris's concerts here in medora along with a couple concerts that summer. Chris was by far the friendliest and seemed like just one of the guys. No one's voice could make you as brave in the bucking chutes or more proud to be a country boy than Chris's can. He is dearly missed in western ND.
September 11, 2006
chris was a legend. barabackjack was one of my favorite songs all of them were. god bless you all.
September 08, 2006
What can you say about Chris LeDoux that hasn't already been said? He is everything "COWBOY" means, and even more! Chris was true to himself, his family, his faith and his friends and what a legacy...I don't believe there are words to describe Chris or his life, all a person can do is to know Chris...and to know him is to love him!
September 08, 2006
Please know how many lives Chris Le Doux touched for good. I had a hard time sending a note because I lost my sister to stomach cancer in May 2005. I could tell you funny stories about him riding a suitcase practicing bareback riding or when he sang "Bareback Jack" long before he was famous. He was always penning poetry and songs. I will always treasure his friendship as well as the gift he left for all of us in his music. I think the part I admire the most is the love he has for his family.
September 07, 2006
I saw Chris in concert twice when I lived in Wyoming. The first time was at the Park County Fair and he opened up for Charlie Daniels and my opinion was he was the better act. The second time was when the wagon train came to town and he did a concert then both of those concerts were great and I wish I had gone to more. I do have all of his albums though and love them all
September 07, 2006
Chris was a man of three worlds: a top notch rodeo performer, an outstanding music artist, and a wholesome cowboy who men envied and women adored. Through his music, he melded his worlds together with some of the most heartfelt songs ever recorded. “Look At You Girl”, (my personal favorite) is an example of the emotion that went into his music. I hope his family takes comfort in knowing that Chris left a legacy as “a great American icon, that will always be respected and remembered. I wish his family the very best, and hope that his son, Ned LeDoux, continues to carry on the musical spirit of his father with his career as a drummer for the Western Underground.
September 07, 2006
Chris's music touched so many people. He told stories with his music like a poet does his poetry. I had the privilege of seeing him in concert more than once and he put on one of the best shows I have ever seen. He had an energy that will live on. Chris was a true "cowboy" and he will be missed.
September 06, 2006
HE HAD LOTS OF GOOD SONGS AND I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN HIM IN CONCERT WHEN HE CAME TO NORTH DAKOTA BUT I ALWAYS MISSED WHEN HE CAME BUT I HEARD HE WAS REALLY GOOD AND PUT ON GOOD SHOWS.
September 05, 2006
I recently attended a Tracy Byrd concert in Lakeview, Or. There has only been two artists who have been invited to perform at their fair twice, Tracy was honored to be included along with Chris with that honor. The crowd cheered loud as if Chris was performing on stage, when Tracy mentioned Chirs's name. It just goes to show what a great performer Chris was and how much of an impact he had on his fans. You Are Greatly Missed. Tracy has a song on his new album that honors Chris. We Love You Chris
September 05, 2006
THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM CONCERT WAS AT THE CIVIC CENTER IN RAPID CITY , SD. IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT EVER AND I SAW IT WITH MY DAD.
September 05, 2006
The first time I saw him perform was in Medora ND. It was an amazing concert.
September 05, 2006
You are definitely missed! Your legend will live on forever.......We love and miss you Chris!
September 04, 2006
We listen to Chris's music every day. My husband sings right along. It makes me smile just to see his smile when listening to Chris's music. He is missed so much by us and so many. He touched our hearts. Speaking of Just Look At you Girl.[the last post on here] My husband sang it to me at our wedding [Accapella]. My heart just melted as I saw the love in my husband's eyes. God blessed his family with such a wonderful, kind and loving man. Our prayers remain with each of them.
September 03, 2006
He had a voice and style all his own. my favorite song was "just look at you girl" me and my wife danced to it at our wedding. he will be missed.
September 01, 2006
Your great music will keep you alive and in the hearts of many. Our deepest sympathy to his loving family
September 01, 2006
Chris LeDoux was the real thing "a genuine American cowboy" and a singing cowboy to boot. What I love about his music is that his songs were authentic true life experiences --- he lived and breathed what he sang. His unique style is what sets his music apart from the rest and although his presence is no longer with us, his music will live forever in the hearts and souls of all us. I was saddened by his unfortunate death.
August 31, 2006
Your memory lives on, Chris. You were awesome and the best. We hope that those who follow you, can keep the tradition alive and exciting, Cowboy Up, Cowgirl Up, and Just LeDoux It. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as they grieve during this time of loss.

Sincerely
August 31, 2006
chris was an awesome i loved his music he could put a show on. last time i saw him perform was in newtown,nd i got pistures of his show, got his last t-shirt.i loved his song buffallo grass.that is one of my favorites. with deep sympthy corinna crist and he will be missed but he does live on with his music.
August 31, 2006
Chris LeDoux wasn't just an artis he was a life style for all of us. When we started riding broncs his music went with the bronc saddles which both were borrowed from our fathers. Us boys would all load up in our rodeo car (a 78 olds with a 440 rocket) and we would take 8 tracks of Chris to listen where ever we went. If you heard Chris playing as a vehichle came down your road it was time to quit haying or building fence and time to go to a rodeo.
August 23, 2006
Both of my older brothers rode in local rodeos when I was young and they had old Chris LeDoux rodeo albums that I would listen to. I remember listening to them and dreaming of being a rodeo cowboy. As time went on, I developed a love for another sport and realized that dream of touring the world as a professional wrestler, which is a lifestyle very similar to that of a cowboy. However, I still long to be a rodeo cowboy in my heart. One of the things that keeps this longing alive is the detailed storytelling and simplistic approach of Chris LeDoux's old rodeo songs. Over 20 years after first hearing the original recordings of "Bareback Jack", "New Breed", and "Ain't No Place For A Country Boy" on scratchy albums, I have collected them all on cd and I share his music with many people. In fact, two nights ago I listened to my 9-year-old niece sing her best version of "Copenhagen Angel" that she learned from a cd I had given her. Although Chris may have ridden off into the sunset, his music will stay with us forever. Thank you, Mr. LeDoux.
August 21, 2006
u were the best singer and bareback rider ever and i miss u
August 20, 2006
I really had a lot of fun at his concerts. He was a man who really is a dying breed. Miss you and LOVE you. Hopefully is still riding that big bull in the sky. I wish there were more like him.

Back in '89, I had not heard of Chris LeDoux 'til I went cross country that summer in California with a military rodeo bull rider. He hooked me on an american balladeer, name of Chris. I kept up from then on and have several CD's.
This August will be three years since my Mom went w/cancer and all I can do is Cowboy Up, and as Garth says "Just LeDoux It".
God Bless Chris Ledoux.
June 28, 2006
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
May 20, 2006
was sittin in the truck the other day comin home and of course the radio reception was terrible so after about 10 minutes of tryin to keep a station tuned in long enuf to hear a song my 7yr old daughter Rookie says to me "mom just turn it off we can sing a song ourselves"
So to humor her I killed the volume and let her pick a song she wanted to sing...being shes not the best at keepin in tune, I was kinda hopin it would be something short and sweet and not overly involved..she instead struck up "Just can't see him from the road" and never missed a beat or sang a note outta key...

You know you are talking about a legend when a little Canadian girl in Alberta knows all the words to one of Chris LeDoux's songs and sings them with all the conviction and heart that the man himself did.

My friends and I always yell "God bless Chris Ledoux" at the top of our lungs whenever we hear one of his great songs. He will truly be missed.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Chris' passing and I just want to let family and fans know that Chris and his family and friends are still in our prayers. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about the music and the man. My kids are die hard Chris LeDoux fans and wish that they could have seen him. Anyway, just wanted to say that we still remember the LeDoux family and all they have gone through.

March 03, 2006
Growing up listening to your music was a great thing to cherish once we found out you had passed on. Your smile and the tip of your hat brought my mom and I to a great life listening to a devoted man who could entertain them all
February 26, 2006
Ok, so I am really Canadian rocker; cause I just find out by reading, that Chris was a 'bareback rider'. OOps!
PPS.
'I got married in Tombstone, AZ on April 19, 1995. My heart told me what my 'wedding song' needed to be. We had a local guitar man play, 'Look at you girl'....It should easily be a wedding song. I felt like the most beautiful 'cowgirl' in the world. Thank you Chris.
February 26, 2006
I am a Canadian girl.....and once upon a time; 'I married a cowboy from Virginia.'...We lived in Tombstone AZ, and took a 'little roadtrip'...to Tucson..specifically to a bit of a club called, 'Little Bit of Texas'....I stood in a smoky room, waiting with anticipation, as were all others for, 'the one and only',.. this guy I'd heard the boys play on the truck stereo sooooo many times. The man who made my cowboys eyes light up, and his heart sing..'MR.' Chris LeDoux... and the place roared!..as he was announced,...and in he smiled. And in he came. And there he stood before me. Me. This little Canadian Chick, who, up until about a year before, I'd never even heard of Chris LeDoux. And as I watched him, he came closer to the microphone, looked over at me, and nodded a smile. haha. He really did. 'Mr. 8 Second Ride', himself. I think he really didn't know 'what' he did for people. He was 'just doing it', cause he loved it. And it really was.......Awesome!...I was infinitely infected by this 'little giant'. This bullriding wonder. This 'Country Super 'G'!

P.S.
I was a rock'n'roll fan solid. Until the very moment that Chris 'showed me', why country 'could never not be'...
I tip my hat to you and yours.
For his passing is not a loss, but a legacy.
And 'up there'....He's probably playing a concert as I speak!
That is how he made me feel.
Well done Mr. LeDoux.
Well done.
February 25, 2006
Meet Chris a few times but never got the chance to really know him. I was just listening to the One Road Man Album wishing he was still around. Even now several months later you are still missed and will always be.

Ours and heavenly Father, we pause in the midst of this festive occasion, mindful and thoughtful of the guidance that you have given us. So that when we make that last ride to that place up there, where the grass is green and lush and stirrup high, and the water runs cool, clear, and deep You'll tell us as we ride in that our entry fees have been paid. You'll be missed by many!

I've been listening to Chris Ledoux since I was 10 years old. He is the best. I've probably been to 30 of his concerts. When I was in the army I introduced quite a few people in Texas to his music. They were hooked. This Utah boy has known him all along and I hope the rest of the country followed suit. I got to meet him in 2000 and had him sign some stuff. He is truly a great human being and will be remembered in my house forever. God bless ya partner!!!

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

October 31, 2005
As I read other entries I see several words repeated. Words like Family, Friend, Hero, and Cowboy. Chris was all this and more to many of us. I cannot remember an important moment in my life happy or tragic that Chris's music was not part of. His albums are the sound track to my life. Some of the most important songs have been "Powder River Home" when I'm home sick, "Wild and Wooley" when I want to party, "Look at you Girl" when I am in love, and "Riden for a Fall" when I'm hurtin.

Thank you Chris for putting to music what I'm feeling.
October 20, 2005
Thanks Chris. My wife and I used one of your songs for our wedding as we walked down the isle. You will never be forgoten by us but always missed. God bless.

I have always loved Chris' music! Whenever I go to a rodeo I always have Chris playing in the car. He always had that "live life, but have fun doing it" attitude! Thanks for the great music Chris! God Bless you and your family!
October 04, 2005
Where to start! I have listened to Chris since he was selling tapes out of the back of his pickup. I was on the circuit - Chris was on top and I was just gettin by. Since those days I have done lots of things and seen and lived in lots of places(don't ask how a Wyoming cowboy ended up in Illinois)but Chris has always been there. The last opportunity I had to see Chris was at the NHS finals in Springfield, IL. His music keeps me on an even keel living here in Illinois. God Bless You Chris!

Our paths had crossed, only a few.
But through all your songs I felt I knew you.
You sang about the cowboy's ride, every song you wrote was about the cowboy's pride.
You toured the around rodeo with your spurs on that ol' broncs hide
Only to rise to become a champion from that short and dusty ride.
You entertained the crowds both large and small, and you never failed to talk to your fans until you at least said hi to them all
You achieved alot for one man, in your short time on this earth,
The lives you touched where you gave so much was well, well, the worth.
From the Cadilac Ranch where ya hear the cattle call,
The moonlit western skies the way you discribed them all.
Will only make your legacy live on never Ridin' For A Fall.............

Thank you CHRIS
Kevin(The Wolfman)Layton

My husband had gone for our wedding anniversary. he put on one hell of a show. i will miss his antics and great music... my favorite show is and always will be FOR YOUR LOVE. Reason is because he come up out of the stage riding the bull and then he accidently got shot with a pyro and used his water to put his pocket out. and kept right on singin... like it was part of the act.
you will be greatly missed..

I CAME TO UTAH ABOUT 23YRS AGO AND BEFORE THAN I DID'T KNOW WHO CHRIS LEDOUX WAS. BUT THEN I HEARD A FEW OF HIS SONGS AND GOT TO SEE HIM SEVERAL TIME AT LAGOON IN FARMINGTON. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN A HUGE FAN. EVERY TIME HE CAME TO OGDEN TO PLAY I WAS THERE TO SEE HIM PERFORM. ABOUT 10YRS AGO I GOT TO MEET HIM IN PERSON AND HAVE HIM SIGN ONE OF MY ALBUMS. IT WAS WONDERFUL TO MEET SOMEONE WHO WAS REAL AND GENUINE. HE WAS VERY KIND TO EVERYONE AND TOOK THE TIME TO ASK HOW THEY WERE AND SIGN EVERYONE'S ALBUMS OR HATS OR WHATEVER THEY WANTED HIM TO SIGN. IT BROKE MY HEART TO HERE THAT HE HAD DIED BUT HE IS NOW IN A BETTER PLACE AND NO LONGER HAS TO BE IN PAIN AND HE CAN PLAY HIS MUSIC FOR THE LORD. MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. MAY EACH DAY GET A LITTLE BETTER AND THAT CHRIS'S MEMORY LIVES ON.
June 09, 2005

YOUR STILL MY FAVORITE.
May 18, 2005
I was very sad to learn about the passing of Chris LeDoux, and my deepest condolences to his wife, children, and mother. I first started listening to Chris after Garth's song. At the time, I had moved from Southern Oregon to New York to attend college. Although I'm no cowboy, his songs about the West comforted me. His words meant more to me than those of any other songwriter, before or since. I wish I could have communicated that to him. After college, when I was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, I had the chance to see Chris perform. It's a memory I'll always cherish. For me, he will always personify the rugged individualism that characterizes the American Spirit. Thanks for everything.

I remember going into a tack shop in the high desert in Calif, Yucca Valley, at Mock Bros years ago and seeing tapes of Chris Ledoux for sale under the counter... and then a few years later thanks to (and God Bless) Garth Brooks everybody got a glimpse of this honest man's talent. I have seen him in concert twice and shared the experience with my daughter, now grown and in the Air Force. I wore his "Watcha Gonna Do with a Cowboy" t shirt out.. and later in life I moved to the south... and am not ashamed to say I have called a few radio stations telling them to play this man to no avail... stupid radio stations.. Mr LeDoux I know you are in heaven and I cried all the way to work when I heard you had died.. Garth said it best.. GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!! Bless your family and remain strong.

What a shock to find Chris had passed. I remember back in the late 70's some girlfriends and I had gone to Cheyenne Frontier Days. Chris LeDoux had a booth he was signing autographs out of. We never got the autograph, because he was out. We hung around for hours waiting for a glimpse of him. In 2003 my husband took me to Imperial,Kansas to his concert. I will never forget it! I admired him for being so faithful to his family and how much he loved his wife.He was such a good role model for our young men. What a singer! What a cowboy! My condolences to his family. God Bless you all.
May 12, 2005
MY HEART GOES OUT TO CHRIS'S FAMILY. IT WAS A TOTAL SHOCKER TO HEAR HE HAS LEFT US. YOU TOUCHED SO MANY HEARTS CHRIS WITH YOUR SONGS I WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY THEM AND MY HUSBAND IS A TRUE FAN OF YOURS AND ALWAYS WILL BE GOD BLESS.

May 11, 2005
My deepest condolences to the LeDoux family. Chris touched the lives of many people. I am one who will miss him and his great music. God is very lucky to have him in His band!
May 10, 2005
You know, I still can't get over that Chris LeDoux is gone. I play his music and then it saddens me that we will never hear anymore music from him. I'm happy that he is recieving the Pioneer Award from the Academy of Country Music. It's unfortunate that he couldn't get it while still around. It was a about a year ago I got to see Chris for the last time. It was a great show.
May 08, 2005
You can never say anything to sum up what chris meant to his fans. He was a inspiration and a true hero to anyone who knew of him. There are few who measure up to his standards. God bless the ledoux's and thanks for being an inspiration to us all.
May 08, 2005
I just wanted to say that not a day goes by that i don't hear at least one of chris's songs, and it feels good that there are some dj's out there that are keeping the music alive. Now don't get me wrong i love george strait, garth brooks, tim mcgraw and kenny chesseny, but before they came along there was CHRIS LEDOUX, i really beleave that he paved the way for alot of todays country artist. Chris we love you and will never forget you.
May 07, 2005
I am a big fan of chris I would go to every consert that I could when he would come to town. He will defently be missed.
May 06, 2005
I was totally surprised by the news! Chris had a big part in my life from the first time that I heard one of his songs, (which is one of my favorites, and there are many) "This Cowboys Hat" to our wedding song, "Look At You Girl". All of his music and words are how I chose to live my life beyond the rodeo. I am now a Marine and am trying to do what he did with his music by trying some of my own. I know now that he is riding the toughest broncs and playing the best music with God now, and sitting and watching us with the other angels!! Chris Ledoux, you are very missed! Real cowboys don't die, they just move on to better pastures!
May 06, 2005
Whether he was singing about life as a rodeo cowboy, falling head over heels for a pretty little cowgirl, or just not knowing when to hang up those spurs. This cowboy had a song for each and everyone of his fans.
Adios amigo. You are deeply missed.
May 03, 2005
wow-i dont even know where to start. as i was looking at page after page of responses, it brought me to tears to think about the way one man could touch so many people. my husband and i are not the type to care much about "famous" people, but chris was our "elvis". he was a part of our life, a part of our courtship and marriage, and a part of our home. our first date was 11 years ago. we went to see chris at the tri-state fair in amarillo. so naturally, our song became "county fair". i traveled many miles over the years for his concerts, i even went on an impromptu trip to colorado to the pro rodeo hall of fame to take pictures of all the info they had on his induction. my husband took a trip up north a few years back and took a several hour detour to kaycee. just because of chris. at our wedding, we danced to "two in a million". we were listening to a cd of our wedding music the other night and that song brought tears to our eyes. i told my husband, "chris is singing that song just for us". there are no words, there is no feeling to adequetley remember a man who was one of a kind, true-blue in a generation of wannabes. we loved his music, because its what we live. the list of songs that have affected our relationship is endless. but they all will forever bring a smile to our face and a tear to our eye. what you saw is what you got with chris. so many "rodeo" guys nowdays dont have a clue what it takes to be half the man chris was. he wasnt about gettin drunk, actin stupid, selfish and reckless. he was about morals and values and his family-along with having a sense of humor and some fun. the people in nashville sure missed the boat. i heard garth is accepting the pioneer award on chris's behalf on the cma's in a few weeks. this is so sad. the award is too late for a man who affected millions of people from all walks of life, all creeds, all countries. i pray for his family. the pain of his fans is nothing compared to his beautiful family. we send them all our love and prayers. just remember the texas panhandle will forever be "CHRIS LEDOUX COWBOY COUNTRY".
May 01, 2005
My heart goes out to Chris' family and friends. As a fan I will always remember him. His music will live on in our home. God Bless you Chris

I AM AN 11 YEARS OLD AND LOVED CHRIS LEDOUX. CHRIS WAS MY HERO AND MY IDOL. WHEN I WAS LITTLE I USE TO SING CATTLIAC RANCH WITH NO MUSIC. WHEN I WAS ABOUT NINE YEARS OLD I FINALLY GOT TO SEE HIM IN CONCERT AND HAD BACK STAGE PASS TO MEET HIM, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I DIDN'T GET TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HE WASN'T FEELING WELL THEN. I DID GET ONE OF HIS GUITAR PICS AND TO THIS DAY I STILL HAVE IT. I AM GOING TO MISS CHRIS VERY MUCH AND KNOW THAT ONE DAY I WILL GET TO SEE HIM AGAIN IN HEAVEN. MY SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO ALL HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND THE OTHER FANS.
April 14, 2005
Heartfelt sorry for the family of the one and only Chris LeDoux. He will always live in our hearts.
April 13, 2005
Thanks Cowboy for all the memories and the music. I'll sure miss ya, partner; but "The hard work and the friendship still remains. Thank God some things never change!". Via con Dios!
April 12, 2005
Chris wasn't just a singer, he was a traveling partner. no matter how long it was to the next rodeo he was and still is in the truck waiting on me. there has been only 1 other man as influencial on any cowboy that runs up and down the road rodoeing. That is Jesus himself. Garth brooks hit the nail on the head in the live version of much too young, GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!! My prayers go out to the Ledoux family, but as long as there is a rodeo or cowboy left on this earth, Chris will continue to be a great influence> God bless!
April 11, 2005
I am proud to say that I have been a Chris Ledoux fan since I was a little girl and I will still be a fan until the day I die. He was and still will be the #1 true "COWBOY". His concerts were always pure energy. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and fans. "GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX WE LOVE YA".

I JUST WANTED TO SAY, WHAT A WONDERFUL MAN HE WAS, AND STILL IS. MY SON LOVES TO LISTEN TO COUNTRY MUSIC, BUT WHEN HE CAME ON HE WOULD JUST DANCE AWAY. HE TRULY WILL BE MISSED. MY DEEPES SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY, AND GOD BLESS.
April 04, 2005
There isnt a day that I wouldnt listen to him sing over the radio, on C.D. He still knew how to make you laugh, cry, and most of all listen. Even though he isnt here in body, his spirit is in all of us. Every rodeo, dance or weddin' he'll still be heard. I have listened to him my whole life. Yea' I'm still pretty young, quiet a few of his songs taught me right from wrong. So dont kick off your boots because you got a bit of dirt on em' throw some spit on and shine them up.

In the words of Another country artist, Garth Brooks. "GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!"
cowboy up.
April 04, 2005
We will miss you
April 04, 2005
I have listened to his songs for years, doing so I felt more compassion towards Rodeo Cowboys and what they do thats also a great risk. He sang about it all. Expressed himself to a point even if we didnt know where he was coming from firsthand. He is a memory in all of our hearts and will be remembered the way he was. He isnt just a singer, he was the Cowboy/girl in all of us.
To you Chris.
April 03, 2005
Wow, the day i heard about Chris LeDoux's passing, i couldnt help but cry. The world has lost a country music legacy, and a great friend/loved one to many. I know he had a safe ride up, and now he is watching over country music, keeping it safe....Goodbye
April 03, 2005
Rest In Peace Chris!
April 03, 2005

What can I say,WoW,Chris Ledoux such a gr-8 artist in country music one of a few country singers that is a true original style of music. Any one that has ever heard of his music can tell he put true love and feeling in his songs. He's always been one of my favorites.Chris has touched my soul through his music. When I heard that he died I was so shocked I started to cry.I've seen Chris in concert 2 times I always wanted to meet him cuz he impresses me in his music and very talented voice. God be with you Chris.. LOVE,Ashlee Dawn Murray {the purple singin cowgirl}......
April 02, 2005
We will never really know why certain people touch our lives more than others. Chris LeDoux did not know me personally, but during my first job with country radio (WRWD 107.3), "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy" came out. Prior to that I knew of Chris's music because he was one of the few remaining real cowboys who happened to write/sing music. He brought a lot of realness to my life and I am grateful God put Chris LaDoux on the planet. I will keep his family in my prayers. Thank you for sharing Chris with so many of us. May God bless you all. Fondly, Alice Ann
April 01, 2005
Guess God needs to hear you sing more than us mortals. You're a heck of a cowboy. See ya down the road partner....
March 31, 2005
I was so stuned when I herd the loss of a true cowboy and a great musician. He will be truly be missed. My heart goes out to his friends and family. I was touched by his song "This Cowboy's Hat". It was a really special song for my mom and I and my dad is also a great fan and mourns his death. At least he is in a better place now.
March 30, 2005
I am so sorry to hear the loss of a true cowboy. I started listening to Chris when I was little. My first tape was his first one. My favorite is National Finals Rodeo. Being from Oklahoma and coming a rodeo family Chris was a true orginal and may he rest in peace.
March 30, 2005
I remember when I was little my mom told me a stroy about Chris, One year she was helping my uncle(Cotton Rosser)at the NFR and she said that after he rode she bumped into him and told him that he had a great ride and unlike the other cowboys he acually talked to her like she was a person and not just some fan. After she told me that story I started paying more attention to him in his riding or in his music and he just seemed to be a relaxed down to earth person and I really liked that! My deepested thoughts and prayes are with the LeDoux family. That was a hard day for all of us.
March 30, 2005
I love the music that you wrtoe. I have great pride in you. Your rodeos were great and will never be forgotin you are the best. rockinroll cowboy.
March 29, 2005
God Bless the BEST COWBOY !!!
Chris, You are the reason Christian has his name, Sitting on your bus in WY Going into labor, not even having a name for our first child, not knowing if it was going to be a boy or girl. Peggy telling us to hurry home to get to our hospital.
You on the stage making me go into labor with the awsome music,he has never stopped kicking. Turning into a great soccer player 10 yrs later. We have known you for along time before that, The BBQ's At Kathy's house with all the band so much fun. Salina when you went for you hike before going to the concert to collect your thoughts, so many people trying to get a glimps of you. You giving us your room so we didin't have to drive all the way home late that night. Heading out earier because you wanted to get on the road before the crowd got you. Las Vegas at the Aladin great. You hiding under a ball cap, so no one would know who you are. GOOD TRY! Magna with the band when you went home to be with the family. To Peggy and Kids, We are very sorry for your loss. "For Your Love" He will always be with you. I guess what I am trying to say, We LOVE You and will greatly miss you..
Love Always, John Amber Christian & Jacob
March 29, 2005
My sincere sympathy to Peggy and the children. I won't go on about how great Chris was as everyone has covered that. I just wanted to say thank you to Chris for being a true and sincere person. Several years ago when Chris was in Logan, Utah at Utah State University upon leaving after his concert in a parking lot in town his semi had a flat tire. My son happened to be in that parking lot and offered to change the tire for Chris (not knowing who he was at that moment) when he started to change the tire he looked up and knew who he was, made him feel great to be able to help someone of Chris' stature. Chris made him feel just as important as himself thanking him for his unselfish act he offered to pay my son, he refused to accept payment other than the heartfelt "thank you" from Chris. To this day I will always remember that kindness. God Bless the entire LeDoux family in their great loss of this wonderful person. You have and still have the honor of having a special person love and value you. Chris is very lucky to have been able to share his life with you and will always be in your heart just a prayer away. Just always remember that he is not gone just away for awhile until you all meet again, in a better place. Chris was a great singer, rider, songwriter, sculptor, but most of all a gentleman to all he came in contact with very humble and sincere. Thank you for sharing so much of him with all of the world. He will be truly missed by all.
God Bless you all at this time of sorrow.

Very sad to hear the news, I first brought his albums back in 1974 and they travelled with us all over Australia on the rodeo circuit. Anytime we were travelling we were listening to Chris. 30 years on and we are still playing his songs,
A very sad day.
March 27, 2005
Chris LeDoux was my hero..May he rest in peace.....
March 26, 2005
I want to send my condolences out to the entire LeDoux family. Thanks for sharing him with the rest of us. He has been a big part of my life since I first saw him 12 years ago. Thanks Garth for introducing me to Chris LeDoux. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at Cheyenne Frontier Days for the past few years that he played there. There's no other place better than there to hear "Western Skies". CFD won't be the same. I get weepy eyed now everytime time I hear "The Ride". "Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high. Keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky. Live like you ain't afraid to die. Don't be scared, just enjoy the ride." Thanks, Chris. You will be truly missed.
March 26, 2005
I will always remember chris for hes smile, becuse he always made me smile to hear him sing . he was and will be one of the best.
March 26, 2005
I was deeply saddened when my sister called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me about Chris Ledoux's passing.

Fortunately, I have been listening to his great music and sweet voice for almost 15 years; through me she discovered Chris a little over a year ago when I brought along a stack of his CDs for a road trip. It goes without saying that she became an instant fan of his music!

My condolences to the friends, family and other fans. We've lost a great cowboy, a great singer, a great person.

I know there's gotta be one heck of a reunion going on up above with lots of back-slappin', story-tellin' and music!
March 26, 2005
LeDoux family, sorry for your lost. Chris was and still is a good guy. I remember back when I was young a bunch of us took off to Pine Bluffs WY. to see him in concert. It was the best time I ever had till I seen him at the Grizzle Rose in Denver, during the stock show. He'll be missed
March 25, 2005
"I got peace of mind, and elbow room. I love the smell of sage in bloom. Catch a rainbow on my fishin line. Got county fairs and rodeos, Ain't a better place for the kids to grow, just turn em loose in the western summer time..." Thanks for helping to turn this city boy country. We'll see you soon.
March 25, 2005
WOW! It has taken me this long to really come to a point where I can write about Chris without crying.

My sympathy goes out to Peggy and the Kids. Your in our prayers. Thanks for sharing your husband and father with us.

I've been listening to Chris since Country Joe started playing him in the 70's. I really got to enjoy the full greatness of his music when I seen him with Bobby Bare at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake. WOW. He was awesome. No fireworks or bucking machine. Just Chris and his band and his guitar. We seen him many more times....Rodeos, Lagoon, arena concerts, Country Joe's huge outdoor concerts, Symphany Hall, Salt Palace, Delta Center, E Center, Dee Event Center, Huntsman Center, Cowboy Bar in Evanston just to name a few.
We will really miss him. My kids got to go to his last Ogden concert in 2003. They were so excited and enjoyed every minute.

We all lost a great friend and a family member.

We love ya Cowboy-Thank you for the ride!!!
March 25, 2005
Chris LeDoux is one of my favorite singers.I have listened to him ever since he began his singing career his music touches the hearts of everyone. He will always be in my heart.
March 24, 2005
Mr. LeDoux I just want to say thank you for being an inspiration and someone to look up to. Before I joined the military all I really wanted to do was rodeo. I still live out the days when my oldest brother, our friend Matt and myself would head out towards Alex's for our weekend buckout. On the way down we would get ourselves ready by playing, what soon became our rodeo song, "Runnin Through the Rain". I have served five years in the military and am getting ready to go back over to Iraq for my second tour. You sir will be accompanying me on my ventures as I still look to you for inspiration and drive to continue on with the mission at hand. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, you will be greatly missed and your efforts to bring something fine into this world are very much appreciated. Thank you sir and a job well done. In closing, "I love you cowboy, thank you for the ride." And boy what a ride it has been. Bod bless and keep you and yours safe.
March 24, 2005
I started listening to Chris in 1978 at the high school national finals rodeo. He was my energy before i rode. I'll miss him and everything he stood for !

He truly taught us to be who we are and try the best we can to achieve our dreams. God Bless You, Cowboy! You and your music will live on in our hearts and be passed down for generations to come.

March 24, 2005
Our family has loved Chris LeDoux since he began his career. No where else has there been a singer like him. He sang country music like no other. At least we have his music to listen to now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the LeDoux family.
March 24, 2005
What more can be said. To the family of Chris LeDoux, my heart goes out to you.
Thank you for letting all of us fans share him with you. He will truly be missed by all. His songs were not only an inspiration but also a way of life.
When he was on stage whether it was a sold out show or a county fair, he gave it his all.
He will always be an inspiration to me and my family. He was a "True Cowboy" and a devoted family man. We will all miss him.
I know that Chris is in heaven looking down on all of us. He's probably emabrassed that we are all sad of his passing. But in the cowboy way, he's singing his songs and ridin' those broncs like only he would have wanted it.
I have had the priveldge to see many of his shows, shook his hand and even got his autograph. He was my IDOL. He can never be replaced. We all need to reflect on his life and remember all the joy he brought to us. He was one of a kind and I will always miss him.
He came into my life in 1993 but will always be a huge part of me. His songs will always be remembered and his concerts forever instilled. Like Chris said, "When I die, you can bury me 'neath these western skies..." May you never be forgotten and always an inpiration...We love you Chris and we will always be your fans...
March 24, 2005
He'll always be our Copenhagen Angel. Thanks for the great concerts and the songs I'll never forget.

March 22, 2005
Losing Chris is like losing a friend, my deepest sympathies to the LeDoux family. His music and the memories will last much longer than his time here with us.

“ … There’s one hell of a Cowboy in Heaven, at that big Rodeo in the Sky.”
March 22, 2005
We are sadden by the loss of such a great person. We've been fans for many years, our "worn out tapes" have long disappeared and have been replaced with CDs. Our children were and still are being raised on Chris LeDoux's music. We have seen him in concert many times and even got to meet him after a few. When we went on our honeymoon, we took our children and went through Wyoming, stopping in Kaycee for a couple of days. He has made such an impact on our lives and has left a void that can never be filled. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He will be missed, thank you for sharing him with us. We will treasure our memories of him and continue to listen to his music. God Bless!
March 22, 2005
My wife and I went all the way to Texas to see Chris for my frist time. I went to every show after that I could. We all will miss you Chris. God Bless Chris Ledoux
March 22, 2005

March 22, 2005

March 22, 2005
I went to Casper College with Chris in the late 60's. He was great & yet humble. He'd sit in the dorm room and pick & sing and soon the room was full. They had a brand new thing called 8-track tapes and I bought one of Chris' early stuff, it's worn out & gone. I talked to Chris awhile behind the buckin' chutes at Torrington Wyo. rodeo summer before last and renewed an old friendship, Chris was just like he used to be but more mellow. He told me all about his family with pride and made a great impression on my cowboy grandson. We sure will miss him and his music! God Bless you cowboy!

I cannot believe Chris is gone. I loved his music and his down to earth attitude. I met him at a concert in Utah when I lived there. He was very warm and kind. He will be greatly missed by so many. This is a truly sad day.
March 21, 2005
What an amazing man - Garth Brooks got me into country music in 1997, and since then, Chris has seemed the most authentic of anyone I've listened to. I may be an urban cowboy in San Francisco, but there's no reason that we city folks can't experience country too. Thanks Chris for never holding anything back in your music - a lesson for us all, and though you will be missed, you will live on.
March 21, 2005
WE LOVE CHRIS LEDOUX!!! NEVER MISSED A CONCERT to SALT LAKE. WE STILL SHED TEARS OF HIS PASSING. HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, AND LIVES ON FOREVER. CHRIS THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE COWBOY. WILL BE MISSED!!!

March 21, 2005
Chris was a great guy. I loved his music so much. We all love him and will miss him dearly.
March 21, 2005
I bought my first Chris LeDoux CD on my way back from the west coast after 9/11. I drove back and Chris's music helped me take my mind off what the country was trying to deal with. My second memory is that I got to see Chris in concert, something that you can't explain unless you were there. Chris, we'll miss you that's for sure. You sang about a life that some of us only dream of, thanks.
March 21, 2005
A superb singer - bought an album whilst on holiday in USA - thought
we may have been related
March 21, 2005

March 21, 2005
My fiance',Troy and I are at a loss of words of how such sad news has affected us both as everyone else we are sure. It just doesn't seem real! And Laughlin Days will NEVER be the same. Never! Our best to Chris LeDoux's family. His name and memory will always be alive!
March 21, 2005
My husband and I were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Chris LeDoux. We will certainly miss hearing him at the "County Fair!" Our thoughts and prayers go out to the LeDoux family. His spirit will certainly live on in the music we all love!!
March 21, 2005
Mr. LeDoux you came into my life thorugh my 3 sons back in 1999. My children introduced me to you and took me to the PBR at the Pond where you performed the most outrageous concert. I will never forget it. I have gone on to purchase all of your CD's and share with them, the hurt of your passing. My sons now serve our country in the Army and the Navy, but there isn't a day that goes by where you don't visit. You truly are an inspiration and you will be missed. God Bless You. Cowboy Up.
March 20, 2005
Our hearts here in Southern California go out to Chris' family and band members. Thank you for so many years of great music and entertainment! Chris was one of a kind...he will be forever missed! I'm so glad to have seen him so many times....at the Crazy Horse in Irvine and in Laughlin. No matter how many times I came out to a concert...it was the best show ever! I just never thought it would be my last time! He definitely has inspired me to live life to the fullest and I know he's riding those western skies!
March 20, 2005
I wanted to express my feelings of all the times my husband and I have had the privlidge to be around Chris. I tried writing them, but there were so many it would take up too much space. How lucky we have been! But, to make it short he was simply amazing and a wonderful example. May the Comforter be with his family and grant them the Peace that they need to get them through this trial. Families can be together Forever. God Bless Chris LeDoux.
Pete & Andrea Moffatt
March 20, 2005
Chris LeDoux meant alot to all of us. He was not just an entertainer, but somewhat seemed like a part of the family. He will truely be missed!
March 20, 2005
Chris Ledoux is a hero in more ways then a musician. He is a hero to me in the life of rodeo and never will be forgotten. I dedicate my next ride to him and always COWBOY UP!
March 20, 2005
Our deepest sympathy to the Family of Chris. I like to think that when I myself arrive at God's Kingdom, Chris will be charismatically leading those believers who've gone ahead in songs of prasie and worship.
March 20, 2005
When I heard of Chris's passing I was deeply sadden. My future husband introduce me to Chris's music in the early 80's.He was from Washington state and I lived in Texas and his music hadden't made it south until Garth. I was glad Chris was finally getting the reconiton he deserved.Like in the song we also have alot of worn out tapes of Chris. As with our family I know he will be missed by millions. Our thoughts and prayers to Peggy and children. THANKS for SHARING CHRIS with us. God Bless
March 20, 2005
The lose of Chris has left a great hole in the number of just good ol Country singers. His music is great because he has it all; the ups the downs and everywere in between. I was fortunate enough to see him preform live at the Country Stampede a couple years ago and tell a few of his good ol rodeo stories, they all made you laugh. He was talking about how he and the band had put a bounty of 50 bucks on this fly that day and no one could catch it. He will be greatly appricated up stairs, they will have some great tunes, we still have the great tunes down here as we head down our own trails and may our tapes never wear out.
March 19, 2005
My prayers go out to the LeDoux family, I met Chris in the early 70's while riding in the military rodeo circuit, bought a couple of tapes from him, I no longer play them, afraid that they may break. He was a true cowboy, spoke the truth about rodeo life. I was shocked when my wife told me the evening he passed away. It leaves a hole in my life. He made every fan feel as if they were one of his best friends. A Great man and a Great Cowboy. Mrs Ledoux, thank you for sharing a fine man with the rest of the world, he will be and is Greatly missed. He only left because God loves to hear good pickin' too. Hope he has" Whiskey, tobacco and bitter black coffee for him there. "Song Of Wyoming
March 19, 2005
I was heart broke to hear that my all time favorite Country singer had passed. I have listened to his music since I was young and always idolized him and the truth in his songs. My deapest sympathies to his family and friends. I do miss him.
March 19, 2005
I felt such an over-whelming sadness when I heard about Chris's passing. His songs never fail to lift my spirits. I love all of them, but probably one of my favorites is "The Struggling Years". My husband and I often comment about how that sounds like us. My husband also grew up with horses and cows. My love to Peggy and family at this time. I had a chance to meet Chris after a show at Ogden once. My 19 yr. old son was 12, was with me, and had just had surgery on his knee, and we were invited back stage. Chris was so nice and talked to Greg like HE was someone very important, it made such an influence on us. We still have that backstage pass and the picture that Chris said I could take is still on our wall with family pictures. I can somewhat feel the pain you must all feel, my husband (age 54) has been fighting cancer for the last 3 yrs. now. What a legacy Chris has left for all. Linda Fillmore, Perry, Ut.
March 19, 2005
I AM DEEPLY SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT CHRIS. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE LEDOUX FAMILY. I HAVE SO MANY MEMORIES OF CHRIS THAT I DONT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO WRITE IT ALL DOWN, JUST THAT WHEN I WAS ABOUT 8 YRS OLD I WAS INTRODUCED TO HIS MUSIC AND LISTENED TO IT EVER SINCE. I AM NOW 29 AND I DO HAVE A COUPLE "WORN OUT TAPES OF CHRIS LEDOUX" FROM THE RODEO TRAIL. CHRIS WILL LIVE ON IN MY MIND FOREVER! GOD BLESS!
March 19, 2005
my 16 year old brother listened to chris's music constantly. I think he knew the words to every song that chris ever sang. His favorites were cowboy up and copenhagen. At christmas time Tracy got killed in a car accident on his way home from the sale yard. My mom buried him with his favorite Chris Ledoux CD and his can of copenhagen, in fact during the services that is what they played was all of Tracy's favorite Chris Ledoux songs. I never realized until now what a huge impact he made on our family. I just want you to know my heart goes out to your family and Chris will always be apart of ours.
March 19, 2005

When I heard the news,I felt like I was gut shot. Chris LeDoux is much more to me than just a great cowboy and singer. He emboddied everything that is great about this country. My heart is heavy and my prayers go out to his family. This has affected me in ways that I still dont quite understand. Will I ever be the same?
March 18, 2005
It is with a heavy heart that I heard about the death of Chris LeDoux. I had the opportunity (thank God) to see LeDoux in Pueblo, CO in 2002. I must say that he, along with only a handfull of other artist, actually sounded better live than on CD (not that his recordings where anything less than perfection). He was a modern day John Wayne in the music industry. His sound was unique and refreshing in today's monotone world. The neat thing about it all, was that he actually lived what he sang about. God bless Chris LeDoux! Thanks for being the man that you respresentd and were. My prayers go out to his family and friends! Even though I never met him, I considered him a friend! Beneath these Western Skies, you'll always be remembered.

From your friend in Colorado,

Greg

My friend Tracy and I saw Chris for the first time in concert at Ponderosa Park, Salem, OH., and we were hooked on the music. What a performance. Such energy and such a zest for life! We were lucky enough to be in the Red Garter Saloon after the show and Chris and the band came in. They were all such gentlemen that we found ourselves impressed once again. We were lucky enough to see them twice after that and each time was better than the one before. To Chris's wife Peggy and his children, our deepest condolences. He is someone who will be missed by all who truly loved cowboys and country music. I think what impressed us most was how very humble he seemed to be. Heaven is a little better off just now and he is certainly watching over those he loved. Thanks for the memories.
March 18, 2005
I learned some things over many years from listening to Chris's songs and stories. I discovered many of life's lessons in the lyrics he sang and often fell back on them when faced with the struggles the world gives us. I found his accomplishments in life along with his simple life-loving personality to have an inspiring and motivating impression on myself and many of my freinds. His concerts were the best i have ever been to. Like Chris says in one of his songs, "live like you aint afraid to try; just enjoy the ride." His death greatly saddens me when i think about it, but descisions like that aren't left up to us so we must use the advice in his songs and apply it to our own lives. I appreciate Chris's talents very much and wish to thank him for being an awesome person, performer, role model and hero. we will miss you.
March 18, 2005
As I was growing up, I had never heard of Chris LeDoux. It was about 12 or so years ago that I was riding home from work late at night when "This Cowboys Hat" was played on the radio and blew me away. I have been a fan of his since then. With the help of a friend of mine that is a huge fan, I always kept up on his latest music despite my local radio station in this area never playing his music. Not until I got xmradio and listened to the America 10 channel that I could listen to him regularly. His music is genuine and true, and there is no one like him. My only regret was that I never got to see him live (I was hoping to see him at Cheyenne in the future). I'll have his music to listen to until I ride into the sunset myself some day.

Condolences to the LeDoux family, friends, and all of the fans who have followed him for his many years.

God Bless Chris LeDoux.
March 18, 2005
The passing of Chris LeDoux was heart breaking!! I have never been one to cry over the loss of a singer or actor. But Chris has been a part of my life, all of my life. I never knew how I would react until last Wednesday night when they came across the radio and said he had died. I cried so much. When I got home, my husband met me at the car and was very upset because he didn't know what was wrong with me. And I couldn't stop crying long enough to tell him. He didn't know who Chris LeDoux was until we met 6 years ago. But he loved his music as much as I did. And our children love his music, too.

Chris, your music has played key roles in my life. My parents helped feed my love for your music. They knew you from your rodeo days. You were a great man and a good role model for children and adults alike. You were my hero and always will be. I'll miss you!!
March 18, 2005

March 17, 2005
I just want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Chris Ledoux. I know in my heart I have a major void that is now there due to the passing of this great man. I have seen Chris in many of his concerts from California on through Laughlin, Nevada. He is my favorite singer and there will never be a replacement. He was one of a kind. The world has lost a HERO. I never met Chris in person but I feel as if I have lost a loved one. I will charish the memories that I have from his concerts and will picture myself there everytime I listen to his music. My brother and I have never been really close but we went to one of Chris's concert at the crazy horse saloon in Santa Ana Ca before it moved to Irvine, and I will always look back to that night and cherish it forever because it brought my brother and I together for that short period of time. I also have memories of my first love and I at one of his concerts at the Orange County Fair. I could go on for hours about the joy Chris brought to my life and he didn't even know it. Well I just thought I would join in with my memories of Good Ol' Chris LeDoux.

"If you ever seen a sunrise on a mountain morning or watched those cotton candy clouds go by then you know why I live beneath these western skies."

Chris I will see you again one day above these western skies.

GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
March 17, 2005
I always enjoyed this fine mans music. I regret not having seen him more in concert. May his music always live on in our hearts and minds.

Richard

I am very sorry for your loss! I cried when I heard the news. I felt like a member of our family had passed. Chris was an awesome influence, his music is amazing and he has touched many many hearts. He was and will always be a huge part of our family. His music has been a part of our life for a very very long time. From our first date to our wedding(The County fair was our first date) to each of our kids who have their favorite songs. I was hopping to take our little ones to a concert, boy do I wish I would have done that, they missed a great show. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thanks for letting us share a part of Chris. He will always be remembered in our home.
Love,

I probably cant say anything that hasn't already been said.......
But Chris was one helluva cowboy, God rest his soul

I gotta be where I can see those Rocky Mountains
Ride my horse and watch an eagle fly
I gotta live my life and write my songs beneath these Western Skies
When I die you can bury me beneath these Western Skies

Now there's one less tornado in Texas
And a saddle that's empty tonight
There's one hell of a cowboy in Heaven
At that big rodeo in the sky
March 17, 2005
Chris' songs touched the hearts of everyone, especially those of us who rodeod. He will be missed, but his songs will be around for us always.

Best wishes to all his family, and band. March 17, 2005
I've been listening to Chris since 1975 and have been to many of his concerts in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Nevada. Over the years I have collected all of his albums and he will be dearly missed.
March 17, 2005
I have been a fan of Chris Ledoux for a long long time. No one can ever re-place his rodeo music or perform as he did in concert. I was lucky enough to see him one last time in Oct 2004 at the Tulsa Rodeo. I feel the best Concert that I have been to is the 4 Chris LeDoux concerts at the Daddy of em all (CHEYENNE)Chris rocked their world in Cheyenne. The Governor of Wyoming has proclaimed Chris LeDoux day for July 30, 2005, last day of Frontier Days. Chris will alway remain with us in spirt and through his music. God Bless the LeDoux family. and Happy Trails Chris. Heaven has a great Cowboy.

Chris's passing was very sad new to me, when my son told me I didn't believe it was true. Chris came to Greeley every other year and I was lucky enough to get to see him many times. This last July 4th he was here with Blake Shelton I was right at the stage it was the time of my life and remember it alway. Greeley Independance Stampede will never be the same without Chris. Chris will be greatly miss here. My son Justin and I send ours prayers and best wishes to all of Chris's family and friends in this sad time. Linda Feola Jung and Justin Erickson
March 17, 2005
Chris was not only my favorite musician, but was part of my life. His untimely death at such a young age hit me pretty hard. No other artist was as genuine, humble, and down to earth as Chris. And no other artist's music has hit home and been part of me than Chris's. No fishing, hunting, camping, or road trip has gone by without playing his music. And as a guitar player and song writer myself, I have respected his music and songwriting like no other. His songs weren't just cheesy, fabricated, big record corporation songs, but were songs that were true to his life, heart, and all of us that lived or experienced life out here in the West. His music captures part of the lifestyle I have grown up in and makes me feel good everytime I hear it. When I hear "Call of the Wild" and "Western Skies", I feel as if he's singing about me and the way I feel and live. On all my road trips and traveling around the Western states, I can put on Ledoux and just listen to album after album and feel good about myself. This music was part of my inspiration to play guitar and appreciate the realism of country music. Chris was the most underrated country artist in the business. He didn't get much radio play or recognition in all of those music award ceremonies they have way to many of, but his songs and live shows were the best out there. Why he never got entertainer of the year just blows me away. I was fortunate enough to see Chris live in concert 15 times here in Oregon. His shows weren't just a concert, but an event. My best buddies and me would gather from all parts of the state to get together for a Ledoux show. It brought us together for many great times and stories. I also had the priviledge to speak with Chris on 10 different occasions, before or after the shows. And every time, he was just as nice and good spirited as the last. Although Chris is gone now, his spirit, music, and memories will go on forever. And just like the song on his last album appropriately says, "...there's one helluva cowboy in heaven, at that big rodeo in the sky". Thank you Chris for being part of my life.
March 17, 2005
I remember Chris from the Rodeo days. He was such a gentleman.I will remember him fondly. To his family may God Bless you as he has once by letting you have Chris in your life.He will always remain with you in spirit...Love Judy
March 17, 2005
after getting call after call from friends telling me about Chris's Passing all I could do is hold back the tears. Chris was one of the last real cowboys in the country Music scene. For years I had gone to see him in concert be it at Chyanne frontier days or the Greeley Stampede. No man will ever take the place Chris held in the Rodeo circuit, nor the Country Music scene. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Forever he will live in the Great Western Skies. Enjoying the beauty that he loved so much. God bless you Chris.
March 17, 2005
Chris Ledoux was a legend and an inspiration to many. He'll be sorely missed.
March 16, 2005
All my thoughts and prayers are with Chris and his family at this time of saddness. His music has moved me like it has moved others. Some said he was to wild, non the other his music was inspiring. I just wish I could have seen him on stage doing a show. I thought I was close when I saw Ned and Dustin Evans in Mitchell SD. Ned is one heck of a drummer.I always dreamed of one day riding horse with Chris and his family, I would still like to do that with Chris in my mind. Now that they have burried you beneath the Western skies! Rest In Peace Cowboy.
March 16, 2005
Thanks Chris for sharing your music and stories with us. I had the pleasure of catching you 5 times live in concert and I can honestly say your music helped me dust myself off and get back on and ride it out. My 4 year old son Hagen truly believes you sang Copenhagen for him and you will truly be missed by us both...
March 16, 2005
After reading about 8 pages of this guest book, it will be difficult to come up with something original to say about Mr. Chris LeDoux. I can tell you that Wyoming blood runs deep and when one of our own passes on, the entire state mourns. I now have 'worn out tapes of Chris LeDoux' since 3/9 and still find myself in disbelief that he is gone. I did have the privilege of meeting him once and seeing him in concert several times. It didn't seem to matter if he were in a small town in Wyoming or on a big stage in the heartland of country music in Nashville, Tennessee, he always put on a show that left the fans in awe of his energy! He was such a crowd pleaser. Truly, he will be missed forever. My heart goes out to Peggy, Clay, Ned, Will, Cindi and Beau. There will never be another one like Chris! Thanks for sharing one of the greatest cowboys with all of us!
Sonny, thank you for providing this outlet for Chris' fans to pay him and his family a tribute.
God's peace,
Shannon
March 16, 2005
My sympathy to all of Mr LeDoux's family and friends. I remember a few of the cowboys when I was very young who listened to Chris LeDoux. It was the early 80's . They whooped and hollered and sang along with Mr. LeDouxs music during rodeo time . I am sure they will continue on remembering him when they hear his music, and Whoop and Sing even louder !!!

The passing of Chris absolutely broke my heart. I cry everytime I think about it. He touched me so deeply with his music that he feels like he is part of my family. His music has been a part of our lives ever since I can remember. He was such a down to earth good person, everyone seemed to love him. What a great loss to the music world although his music will live on for a long, long time. God bless Chris and give comfort to his family during this hard time. My sincerest condolences.
March 16, 2005
Chris LeDoux has held a special spot for me from the time I was very young and traveled the PRCA curcit with my Dad. We heard Chris sing at some of the rodeos and watched him ride. I beleive Dad had one of his first 8-tracks. Years later on an early date with my husband we saw Chris at the county fair. He will be missed in our home. Our Prayers and thoughts go out to his family.
March 16, 2005
Chris LeDoux. What can't be said about this man? Everyone knows that he was a grat artist, and a hall of fame bronc rider. Mr. LeDoux was and is still my idol. I found out earlier today about his passing and nearly broke down. All I can say is chris will be missed. If you can somehow get this message Chris, when we meet in heaven, the first round is on me.
March 16, 2005
We have always been huge fans of Chris. I was a fan since I heard him for the first time, when I was about 12 years old, then, We got to see him in concert on our first anniversary, and he sat on the edge of the stage and sang to us. There has never been a sweeter man. Our love and sympathy to his family. Chris, you will make beautiful music in Heaven. You have certainly earned your wings.
Tod and Kris

March 15, 2005
God Bless Chris Ledoux...
March 15, 2005
I went to a Chris concert at a club in Chicago a few years back. The show was great ( like always ), and afterwards a few of us got the chance to climb on board "Rodeo Rose" for a meet-and-greet. Chris was a super host and posed for pictures and everything. It was only after I got my next fan club mailing that I realized the show had taken place only a week after his father's death ( Al LeDoux ). Even with all that must have been on Chris' mind right then, he still got up there and rocked the house! So... "Cowboy Up", everyone. Chris would want us all to carry on and just keep moving forward. Sad just wasn't his style....
To Peggy, Clay, Ned, Will, Cindi & Beau: Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. To the Western Underground: Carry on men - the show ain't over till you all say it is.... To the folks of Kaycee and all of Wyoming: Thanks for sharing one of your own with the rest of us. Until the next show -
"GOOD RIDE, COWBOY!"
March 15, 2005
The first time I heard Chris was when my dad came down from Rawlins, Wyoming and was
playing one of his tapes. I was hooked.
He became my favorite singer because his songs were simple and true. He won my respect because he kept his family and private live just that private. His music has helped me through good and bad times.
I was privileged enough to attended two of his concerts and lucky enough to have front row seats for one. What a genuine human being!
His passing has affected those of us in the west because he acted and lived like one of us. Peggy will miss him but she has his love his children and her memories. These will help and be a comfort to her. She was loved by a great man and everyone who know him loved him.
God bless the Le Doux family.
March 15, 2005
Chris Was by far the best Cowboy Poet of Our time. He will be greatly Missed by all who were inspired by his music.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of this great man. He was so kind hearted. My aunt used to be the secretary for the rodeo in Torrington, WY (back when Chris was still rodeoing) and she always used to say what a kind, caring, common man Chris Ledoux was. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this trying time. He will be greatly missed.
March 15, 2005
YOU WILL FOREVER AND ALWAYS LIVE THROUGH YOUR FANS AND FAMILY WHO LOVE YOU THE MOST.
March 15, 2005
He was such an inspiration in country music. This is a loss that we will forever. His family and friends are in my prayers.
March 15, 2005
chris ledouxs music was a window to his heart and soul. he sang about life on the rodeo circut and life as a cowboy, and love of family. which meant more to him than anything else. the world is now a lesser place without him. but he will live forever because of his music and those of us who still chase those gold buckle dreams.
March 15, 2005
I remember the first time I ever headrd Chris. It was a tape, Haywire. I could not believe anyone could sound like he does! I ended up with them all(later switching to cd of cuorse!!) I will never forget 8 second ride, this cowboy's hat and my favorite, about billy the kid. I had my own video to it in my head. It was perfect when i lived in vegas and was on my way to a friend of mine's home in Parump!! Joshua trees, mountains and endless desert!!! Thank you Chris for everything,..."you jumped off while he was movi'n, you tipped your hat, and walked away..."
March 15, 2005
My father spoke highly of Chris. They had meet when my father attended West Texas State and Chris Was at Estern New Mexico. I grew up hearing stories about how great a man Chris was and listening to his music. I always felt that Chris was a man of great character and respect. The type of man other men should want to be like. His music helped to shape me and to build a great relationship with my father. Chris will be missed greatly. May God's peace and blessing be with the LeDoux family.
March 15, 2005
I have seen Chris at many concerts. In 2002 I seen him about 3 times. I drove to Grand Junction, Co.,for Country Jam then about a month later I drove to Afton, Wy., then about another month later I drove down to West Valley, Ut. to see him again. That was one of the best years ever. And I would do it again. He will be greatly missed in my eyes. He was one true cowboy. Give them the famous 8 second ride up there Chris!
March 15, 2005
Going to see Chris LeDoux has been a tradition for my dad and I for almost as long as I can remember. Summers will never be the same without road tripping to different county fairs to watch this awesome performer. In an industry of so many wanna-be cowboys, this man has always been the real-deal and will be remembered as such. To his friends and family, please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. Chris was a blessing to all who were lucky enough to experience his music and there is no doubt that he will forever ride at "that big rodeo in the sky".
March 15, 2005
I have listened to Chris LeDoux and been inspired by him for a long time. What a great man. I picked out a song of his to play as our first song at my wedding this May. I and so many others will miss him greatly!
March 15, 2005
Chris LeDoux was the greatest. I met him and his son after a concert one night in Bishop California. They were both great. I attended many of Chris's concerts and I will miss seeing him every year.
There will never be another like him!
March 15, 2005
It's hard to even put into words what I'm feeling right now. My condolences go out to the family and friends of Chris, he will be missed deeply. I was introduced to Chris's music from an old LP my dad had, my dad being a native of Wyoming. Since then I have fallen in love with his music. In a time where the music industry, including the country music industry, has just gone on a rapid decline, Chris continued to pour out real, heartfelt music. I never heard a Chris Ledoux song I didnt like, which is hard for me to say about most other country artists these days. He was genuine, and his fans knew that. It's a shame that most other people will never know what we do. I had the chance to see him in concert in Pocatello, Idaho and it was an amazing show. That will be one of my best memories of him. In the words of Garth Brooks, "God bless Chris Ledoux"
March 15, 2005
What a huge loss to those of us who followed Chris through the years. His music is like no other as was Chris, he was truly one of a kind. My deepest sympthy to his family. May Chris live on forever through his family, his music and his fans. GOD REST CHRIS LEDOUX!!
March 15, 2005
I just learned about Chris' death via this webpage which I often go to check my Brother's page (my Bro was killed 9/11 in WTC).

I know of Chris LeDoux and his work via a very good girlfriend, Robin N. of Salt Lake City. I've drive cross-country to visit her and Chris' music got us through the 3,000+ mile trek.

Robin's brother played with Chris LeDoux' band.

I'll em her now. Tears came down to have lost such a young talent. Sincere condolences to the LeDoux family.
March 15, 2005
My husband is a devoted Chris LeDoux fan and will deeply miss him! He said "I feel like I've lost my best friend!" Our sympathy goes out to his family, friends, and other LeDoux fans! May God bless him the way he blessed us!
March 15, 2005
I met Chris a few times, watched him at Billy Bobs, and read his book "Bold Buckle Dreams" and i have to say Chris is a true cowboy legend and hero. He will be missed by all that knew him or heard his music. Just listning to Chris's music on the way to a rodeo got me pumped up and ready to ride. Now Chris is at that big rodeo in the sky with all the other greats. He will truly be missed. God bless y'all.
March 15, 2005

I looked forward to seeing Chris LeDoux every year at the Annual Tumbleweed Calf Fry Festival in Stillwater, OK. Going to school at OSU and being able to see Chris LeDoux every year for about 10 years sure are a few treasured highlights of my life. Some friends and I sure feel true sorrow for Chris's family and other fans and friends. I never knew him personally, but what I did know about him always impressed me. He was a great singer, songwriter, entertainer and I can only imagine how he's lighting up Heaven. I hope to see him when I get there...God bless you & your family Chris LeDoux. You will be missed tremendously.
March 15, 2005
Chris made life a joy to make long commutes from New Mexico to Utah. My kids call him the cowboy guy. He was what we loved to listen to. I saw him live twice and will never forget the excitement he brought to the crowd. Chris may you live on forever in your inspiring music and wonderful voice. Bless all who knew you well and loved you most. One of your biggest fans.
March 15, 2005
I remember the first time I went to a Chris Ledoux concert. It was the Boone County Fair in Columbia, Missouri about 7 yrs ago. A friend of mine had an extra ticket, I had never heard of Chris before. We went to that concert, stood right in front of the stage at Chris's feet all night. It was the best concert I had ever been to. Chris's performance was out of this world. After that I stocked up on any CD's of his that I could find and attended all the local concerts. I even remember meeting him at the American Royal one year, that's when he signed my Stetson. He was so down to earth. At my wedding, our first dance was to "Look at you Girl". My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ledoux family. Chris, we will miss you dearly. But I know you are better off at that rodeo in the sky.
March 15, 2005
Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth will not be the same anymore without Chris touring. We all looked forward to his concert dates and have been since the early 90's.He was true to his music which he labeled Rodeo Rock-n-Roll and sage brush blues. He was great and Billy Bob's will miss him and it just won't be the same anymore to look forward to a Chris Ledoux show.So fans like myself lets "Thank the cowboy for the ride".God bless Peggy and his children.
March 15, 2005

I never knew the man, but was a great fan of the singer/songwriter and cowboy! May God's love surround the LeDoux family at this time. Chris truly is resting now, beneath his western skies.
March 15, 2005
I was so sorry to hear about Chris! He has meant so much to me since my days in High School in Spanish Fork. WOW! It's just so hard to believe there won't be any new albums. His songs meant a lot to my wife and to me as well. What a great guy! My heart goes out to his family. They are in my prayers. You will be missed Chris!
March 15, 2005
Champion BareBack Rider, Talented Writer, Phenominal Performer, Accomplished Sculptor, Loving Husband, Proud Father, Genuine and Humble Human Being...
these words have been used to describe many people, but Chris LeDoux can best be described by using all of them.
Many hearts have been touched by his songs, many Rodeo Cowboys have been inspired by his skill and determination, and many Music Artists WISH that they could eventually command the respect and adoration that Chris has earned through his honest and hard working approach to performing.
The world benefitted from having Chris LeDoux grace it with his presence and it mourns with his passing.
To his family I offer my sincerest sympathies for their loss, if he meant THIS much to all of us...just think of what he meant to THEM!
March 15, 2005
I had the pleasure of seeing Chris at several live performances and listening to his albums many times on the way to and from Cheyenne Frontier Days. You may take pleasure in the knowledge that he
gave enjoyment to so many and will be deeply missed.
March 15, 2005
Chris LeDoux was one of my favorite singers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. My condolences to his family and all those country fans!!! Once a country music fan always a country music fan.
March 15, 2005
The first time I saw Chris Ledoux was at Lagoon. Then again at the Terrace. My husband met him during his rodeo days and got his first cassette there. We used to play his music constantly. We'll miss him.
March 14, 2005
What do you say about such a great loss? What an awesome man. One of the greatest, if not the greatest country artists and song writers. He was an honest to God cowboy. After God put Chris LeDoux on this Earth, he certainly broke the mold. He is a role model to countless people. He was SO young. God must have really wanted an awesome artist to entertain him up there. Our love and prayers go to his family. Thank you all so much for sharing such a wonderful person with the rest of us!
March 14, 2005
When I first met my husband he had an autograph on his cowboy hat...I leaned into my best friend and said, "If that is Chris LeDoux's name on that cowboy's hat, I want to marry him!" Long story short, 8 great years later we are still together, and still listening to Chris. I think this weekend we will take $100 and "spend it on me and you". We will miss you cowboy.
March 14, 2005
I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to the LeDoux family on the loss of a great singer. May he enjoy singing among all the Country Music singers in Heaven.
March 14, 2005
I have listened to Chris all my 29 years. I've been to many Concerts and meet and greet. Me and a couple of buddies decided one day we would in his dad's Cadillac adn go to Green River WY to See Chris for his Birthday No such luck tickets were all sold out but we stayed and listened because we loved his music. Thank you Peggy for Sharing Chris with the rest of the world he was a great Cowboy and was a hero and idol to us all God bless you and your family.
March 14, 2005
I have always loved Chis' music. A few years ago my wife and I had an opportunity to go to another one of his concerts at the Weber County Fair Grounds. My wife had a friend that she worked with, whose husband played in his band, there. She introduced us to her husband, and he introduced us to Chris. He was such a nice guy. He invited us in his trailer, for a drink. I was so embarassed and shy that I declined the invitation. I have ever since kicked myself. He's a great guy and we all love his music. We'll miss him but we also know that now he's also in a place that he loves and won't have to endure any more physical pains.
March 14, 2005
Chris influenced my life more than any one person has. His music lit a fire in my soul and pushed me to quit my roping career and start riding bareback horses. I have won sveral buckles, a saddle, and even a college scholarship thanks to bareback riding.
His music took my life in a whole new direction all for the best.
This past weekend at a college rodeo i wore an arm band in honor of the fallen champion. I will always idolize Chris as a champion and my heroe.
He's probably rollin' one up at that big rodeo in the sky right now.
March 14, 2005
I have always been a Chris LeDoux fan because of his rodeo life. I love rodeo and I follow it historically. I met him at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs when there on a FFA trip. It was awesome to meet such a peacful man. My wife was a very big fan having every album of his. She was very saddened when she learned of his death as was I. Our condolonces go out to the LeDoux family during this diffcult time.
"There's one less tornado in Texas
There's one empty saddle tonight
THERE'S ONE HELLUVA COWBOY IN HEAVEN
At that big rodeo in the sky."
March 14, 2005

March 14, 2005
We will miss Chris greatly. He was a true country gentleman. Once in line to meet him I heard a young woman asked if she could give him a kiss. He replied "I save all of those for my wife." My respect for him doubled that instant. We tried to go to every concert in our area we could. It was great to be able to listen to great music with out all the cheating and down on your luck songs. We hope to pass the love we have for his music on to our children. May God bless the LeDoux family in their time of loss.
March 14, 2005

An overwhelming sadness came over us when we heard that Chris LeDoux had passed away. We were anxiously waiting for his next concert in Utah. Our sympathies go out to his family and we hope that everybody's prayers give you some type of comfort. What a loss for everyone who loved him and his music.
March 14, 2005
I want to send my most heartfelt sympathy to the family.Your loss is felt all over the world by many, Chris was a great guy not just a famous face. My husband is feeling this loss deeply he used to ride in some rodeo's with Chris and knows him as a person not as an untouchable star.
March 14, 2005
What a wonderful entertainer we have had the opportunity to enjoy over the years. As Chris entered heaven, where the water is deep and crystal clear, and the grass is green and lush and stirrup high, God surely said "Son, your entry fees are paid". Thanks, Chris. You will be sorely missed.
March 14, 2005
So many of our good times our surrounded with your music and concerts. Chris we will miss you deeply and your example impacted our lives greatly. Your courage in fighting your health problems inspired Sean to fight and beat his eye disease which is now gone dormant. I would like some people to help me get a wing of a hosipital named after chris. I dreamed the night of Chris's that there was a band in heaven with an empty chair and in walked Chris's with his guitar and joined the band and the other members of that band were Johnny Cash Waylon Jennings, Roy Rogers, Hank Williams and Kieth Witley playing the best country music ever. So many of Sean's high school memories are assocaited with your music. We will miss you always and will pray for your family thanks for the ride, rest in peace partner
March 14, 2005
I was very fortunate to meet chris a couple of times when he came to the salt lake area. What a wonderful man. He took time to talk to every fan on by one. And what an energetic concert he put on. One of the best. Country music would have never been what it is now without Chris. We will miss him.
March 14, 2005
This has hit me really hard since i knew chris and considered him a friend. God bless you Chris Ledoux. Never will be forgotten.
March 14, 2005
To the LeDoux Family.
I hope that you all know that Chris LeDoux will never be forgoting. Although he is not with us in the body form, he will never leve our hearts.

I lost my grandpa not long ago. He was the last of the real cowboys, just like Chris. I drove back to Nebraska for his funeral and it was a long, hard drive. But Chris helped me with the drive. When I got back on the ranch the song that I love came on "You can't see him from the road" I feel that I need to do all that I can to keep Chris LeDoux's songs and life style in my family, as all Americans need to. I will, and my family will--KEEP RIDING FOR THE BRAND.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS,
DOUGLASS
March 14, 2005
IT IS ALWAYS SO SAD TO LOSE ONE SO YOUNG TO THIS DREADFUL DISEASE. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRUBUTION TO THE COUNTRY MUSIC FIELD. TO THE LEDOUX FAMILY I SEND MY SINCERE SYMPATHY. YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF HIM, HE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
March 14, 2005

March 14, 2005
The LeDoux Family,
Thanks for sharing your lives with the rest of us and letting Chris the rodeo cowboy and musician become so well known and loved. The Chris my family and I know is Chris the cowboy before he was champion, I opened a few chute for him around Midwest and Linch. My aunt used to own the Hole in the Wall Bar, my family and I would go to the Kaycee town hall dances and once in awhile Chris would show up. I remember when Chris started being called the "singing cowboy" I was living in North Dakota and my mom told me they were announcing Chris' name on the radio. Yeah Chris. The last time I saw Chris and Peggy was at a middle school basketball tournament in Clearmont,Wy. I believe one of the girls was a cheerleader and one of the boys was playing?, I'm not sure 'cause my 25 year old son was playing in that tournament. I had left the gym and as I walked in I smacked into Chris and Peggy on their way out. Chris was so polite. My parents and I said hi. I hope you still have that video, Peggy. I remember Chris as the cowboy next door and the proud dad. My heart aches for your lost. The only country music cd's my 25 year old son owns are Chris LeDoux. Rock on cowboy, say hi to the loved ones in heaven with you. Keep Smiling. Mindy Cooley and the Cooley Family
March 14, 2005
Our Deepest Sympathy to you & your family at this diffcult time and sharing in the loss of your loved one.
March 14, 2005
I have found comfort this week through careful listenings to "After the Storm." I may never have met Chris, but the man leaves us all a "Millionaire" with his legacy of friendship and music. I do not believe for a minute his "investment" will stop growing in the event of his passing.

Enjoy the win-fall you got coming Chris! You had the ride of your life and never let go of the reins.

Wow! It's been 5 days and I still can't believe it. The one thing I will never forget about Chris LeDoux is, he once had a bumber sticker that said, "Try something different, Love your wife". That was way to cool. Mrs. LeDoux, I'm so sorry for you and your kids loss. Thank you for sharing him.
Chris LeDoux will always play in my C.D. player....
Gods Blessings.
March 14, 2005

wonder if garth brooks will sign this book,
Into the sun-set cowboy.
You will be missed.
March 14, 2005
I saw my first Ledoux concert at the Weber county fair. I was two young to see over all the standing people so my brother let me sit on his shoulders. I will never forget the fans chanting "Bareback Jack, Bareback Jack". His music was as big a part of my youth as my close personal friends. Slow dancing to "Look At You Girl", and dreaming of being a REAL cowboy with songs like "8 Second Ride" and "One Ride in Vegas". My heart goes out to the Ledoux family. Country music has lost a great American. In a world full of Kenny Chesneys, Chris dared to be honest and true to his roots. As a result, he won true fans everywhere. The Dee Events Center will never host another, quite as electrifying.
Thank you Country Joe and KSOP for bringing Chris to Salt Lake over the years.
March 14, 2005
I had the good fortune to meet chris a couple of times, what a good guy! Growing up in Utah we were spoiled by chris, lots of concerts, lots of meet and greets. It's a hard thing to let you go chris, you'll be sorely missed. Thank god we will always have the memories and the music. Our thoughts and prayers go out to peggy and the entire ledoux family. Thank you for sharing chris with us for so long! Thank you Country Joe for everything you did for chris. I'd also like to extend my sympathy and gratitude to the members of western underground. GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX, and he did! Rest easy chris.
March 14, 2005
Dear LeDoux Family,
My son and I would like to express our deepest sympathies to you for your loss. We were saddened to hear of Chris' passing. Chris was a wonderful singer/entertainer. We loved his music. He was the only country music singer my son liked. When Richard was a little boy I played the song, "Call of the Wild," and he begged me to buy him his very own tape. I did, and within a few weeks, he had worn it out. Richard went through 4 tapes of "Call of the Wild!" He is 17 now, and still listens to Chris' music. Chris was a gifted and talented man. He will be missed greatly.
March 14, 2005

May the Lord bless you and your family in your time of trial. Just know he was a good man in our eyes

There will never be another, like Chris Ledoux! Your music gives me chills when I listen to it. Your concerts were better than anyone elses. You were as humble as a regular ole cowboy. Many recognize Elvis as the King, but in my book, there's only one king-Chris Ledoux. Thanks for the great ride!!!
March 14, 2005

KEEP THOSE ANGEL'S SINGING...COWBOY
March 14, 2005
Chris LeDoux will always be remembered by me and all my rodeo buddies. His songs have brought us up and down the rodeo highway. We sang along with his songs and, and now when we do they will mean that much more. He will be missed in the rodeo world, and by many others. God Bless the LeDoux family.
March 14, 2005
I was introduced to Chris' music by my late step father, Randy Tribitt, who past away this last year. Randy and Chris knew each other from the PRCA and Randy absolutely respected and admired Chris. I think that is the way to remember him, a respectful man admired by many. Your great music will be missed...
March 14, 2005
Thank you for providing us with the music that reaches into our hearts and touches our souls. You will be missed, but your music will play on forever in each of us.
March 14, 2005
LeDoux Family and Friends.
Chris LeDoux was the Best Friend I never met! He was the artist and musician I can only hope one day to have someone say "He kind of reminds me of." However there has always been and only ever will be one Chris LeDoux a Real Cowboy.

"He Rides for his money, he lives of the the land his Bible his preacher he owes no man this life that he is living is one that he choose when the good Lord comes to take him they wont know he's gone."

The world passed by in silence but his fans shed a tear

I just want to send my condolences to the entire Ledoux family. His passing last week has been a hard one for all of us in Utah. My collection of Chris' music has been with me camping, dancing, heading to rodeos and just plain ole hanging out with the buddies. And I was lucky enough to attend a few concerts too. I guess what they say is true, only the good die young. Thank you cowboy for the ride ...
March 14, 2005
March 14, 2005
I remeber the first time I heard Chris on the tape player in my Dad's old pickup. Although I was pretty young there was something about his music, as i got older, listened to more of his music(old and new)and learned more about him, I started to figure it out. He wasn't your typical country star. His songs where straight from his heart with lots of feeling because he had been there. His life was written in his songs.
I am by no means a cowboy and don't even listen to country music all that much, usally the only time I turn it to a country station is becuae I want to hear Chris and the times that it actually happens and I do hear a song from him I smile from ear to ear turn it up and sing along.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live forever under this big old western sky.
Thanks for all of the memories Chris!
My condolences to the Ledoux family, may God be with you and comfort you at this time.
March 14, 2005
To Chris's family and friends our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time of sadness. Chris will be deeply missed.

GOD BLESS CHRIS LEDOUX!!!!
March 14, 2005
Wished I could have seen you in concert. I will forever regret that. My sincere sympathy to his wife and kids. From listening to his music and watching the tribute to Chris on CMT - you are a very lucky family to have him as a husband and father. God Bless you and keep you safe.
March 14, 2005
I have loved Chris Ledoux since I was a teenager. My cousins would special order his cassettes in the 80's and listen to his music. I fell in the love with the stories his songs told. I was able to see him 3 times in concert and meet him once back stage. He was just an incredibly genuine and kind man. I would be remissed to not mention that he ROCKED when he was in concert. He has always been "Entertainer of the Year" in my book. The music industry and all his fans lost an incredible performer. My prayers and condolences go out to his wife and children.
March 14, 2005
My thoughts and prayers are with Peg and the kids. You must be so proud of what your husband and father accomplished in his short time on earth. I have never been so impressed with a person that I didn't personally know as I am with Chris. His love for Peg and his children showed when he mentioned their names on stage - a GLOW surrounded him that I have never seen before. He was a family man first, and hard workin ranch man and an awesome entertainer. He will be very missed, but I know he will continue on in our hearts and in his family. He gave them the most important gift in life - Himself. I hope all who knew him will try and be a little more "Chris Ledoux" like in their personal lives. Chris was and will always be a legend - one to tell our grandchildren about. God Bless his family and give them strength to get through this sad time.
March 14, 2005
My deepest sympathy to the LeDoux family and friends. I was introduced to his music in the 70's, only because of following Rodeo, I was one of the ones buying his tapes and albums through the mail. I came to love his unique sound and what his songs said. They were as real as the men riding the circuit. He will be greatly missed here, but Heaven will be the better for his being there.
March 14, 2005
I have been a HUGE fan of Chris Ledoux for years. It was a shock to hear he had passed on. He will be greatly missed. His music had a huge influence on my life. Chris was a wonderful person & entertainer, best wishes to his family & friends.

As Garth Brooks Said.... Im much to young to feel this damn old

"worn out tapes of chris ledoux, lonely women and bad news seems to be the only thing that keeps me holding on"

RIP! Will be missed

March 14, 2005
This hurt. I love this guy, the last cowboy singer left alive. I love King George and Garth had his moments, but no one sang a cowboy song like the guy who lived it and loved it best. I feel for his family, he must have been the influence to them 100 fold what he has been to me.
I can say I have a son who will carry on loving his music like me. HE is truly, like John Wayne, an American. God Bless you Chris, I hope they have good fast horses in heaven!
March 14, 2005
Chris you will be missed by all. Your legend will live on. God Bless the Ledoux family and may god be with you in this dificult time. May your soal rest in peace.
March 14, 2005
My sincere sympathy to the LeDoux's family.

I was born and raised on the White ranch in Moab, Ut. The place where John Wayne made some of his most memorable movies, and I grew up listing to Chris LeDoux's most memorable songs.
As kids chasing cattle; we ate a lot of dust, however singing Chris LeDoux songs made the dust taste better, and the days shorter.
Our ranch is sold now along with the cattle, but if I ever want to go back I play my Chris LeDoux.
Our Father in Heaven bless Chris, and
the LeDoux family for shairing a wonderful man with the rest of the world.
John Wayne made the cowboy movies, Chris LeDoux wrote the true cowboy songs!

They say, " Cowboys never really die, they just ride off into the sunset."

God Bless

I still feel like I've been punched square in the gut. Chris, his music and his good guy way of life means a lot to me. I have loved Chris' music for many years. We were so saddened to hear about his passing. I was fortunate enough to meet him many years ago and you couldn't meet a nicer man than Chris. He was so full of life and fun. My husband and I love his music and will listen to it forever. I have seen him in concert several times and he is honestly about the best entertainer I have ever seen. We love you Chris. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and wish them all the best.
March 14, 2005
You have brought many thoughts and many smiles to many faces. You are a cowboy legend. May peace be with you.
March 14, 2005
What a true inspiration this man was... I was a rodeo queen four years ago and I remember what a difference the whole attitude was in the arena when they would play a Chris LeDoux song. His music and
charisma would make everything just
"kick in". I am raising my son on my own now and the one thought I have thought of so many times is that I want my Son, Colton to become the kind and loving man Chris LeDoux was and will always be in our hearts. He was truly one of a kind....the best kind.
March 14, 2005
Chris, keep singing those special songs.
March 14, 2005
Our hearts go out to the Ladoux family. Lanty played many years with Saddle Boogie Band and loved and admired Chris. It was a great honor to have Chris sing his song.
Chris was a wonderful man, and a perfect Cowboy.
We send our love to Peggy and the family.
March 14, 2005
I was inspired to stay in college at Seridan, Wyoming, as Chris was never a quiter. I was very fortunate to have a rideable schoolarship from his days in college. We will always play his tunes on the way to our pro-shows. His legacy will always live on. Have a good ride up there with our Lord. Your bud, Casey Filipek

March 14, 2005
My deepest sympathies are extended to the LeDoux family. Chris's music brought many of us great pleasure. God must have needed an angel.
March 14, 2005
I knew of Chris Ledoux long before he made it big, which was about the time he was a line in the Garth Brooks song, "Much Too Young, To Feel This Damn Old".
I remember hearing Chris on the local radio station KSOP here, sometime after I moved to Salt Lake City in 1978 and thereafter.
I will never forget the first time I heard his FIRST recording of the song, "Call of the Wild". I knew then that his music was something special. Even though he never made it hugely big like George or Garth, his music will ALWAYS mean just as much to us Chris LeDoux fans. I was able to see Chris in concert three different times and enjoyed every one of them. I want to thank Country Joe at KSOP for promoting Chris's music so much over the years and making Chris's music special to us.
March 13, 2005
Chris has always been one of my Heros from when I was a kid and he's still the best Country singer out there ever I even found fans of his in Germany he'll be missed and I'll listen to him till the day I die
March 13, 2005
I feel very fortunate to be able to say that I was a long time fan and was able to see Chris a few times in concert. And most of those concerts were up close and personal in a small venue in Salina, UT or at the rodeo grounds in Evanston, WY. If you never saw him live in concert, you truely missed out on the best 90 minutes you'll ever spend at a concert.

My wife and I loved the song, "The lady is dancing with me." We have three boys and could relate. That's what we loved about his music...it painted a picture in your mind and told a story. Even if you didn't rodeo, you could put yourself in the song and imagine what it might be like.

My wife called me on the phone crying the morning of March 9th, to break the terrible news. We both loved his music, and as fans, find his passing difficult. I've loved many of his songs, but Bang a Drum has now become my favorite:

Bang a Drum lyrics - "I don't know where all the rivers run. I don't know how far, I don't know how come. But I'm gonna die believin, with each step that I take. Ain't worth the ground that I walk if we don't walk it our own way."

His life may have been cut short, but it was spectacular. He walked it his own way and I'm sure has no regrets.

Our condolences to the Ledoux family. God bless Chris Ledoux...they're rodeoing in heaven!

I'm still in shock . . . As a person, inspiration, and true "All-Around" talent, Chris LeDoux touched many lives. He seemed very true to his family and definately put on one hell of a show! I own almost all his albums and I will play them for generations to come! His memory will LIVE on forever!!!!!
March 13, 2005
I have been very sad knowing that one of my favorite cowboys has left this earth. Looks like God needs him now. Much love and sympathy to his close family and friends. He has touched so many lives.....Thank God for Chris Ledoux!
March 13, 2005
This news was as shocking as it was sad. Chris seemed to have this beat so many times. We all know God kept him here for us as long as he could. Country music will never be the same without the man who was a Pioneer in the industry, and always did it his way. His fans will love him and miss him. There will never be another like him. I will miss not seeing him at the two to three concerts a year he played in this area. God Bless the whole LeDoux family, my heart and prayers are with you. God, thanks for taking care of him for so long and for allowing all of us to enjoy his art. Chris, we'll see you at "that big Rodeo in the sky." God Bless!
March 13, 2005

Message to the Ledoux Family -
Chris LeDoux is one of America's greatest treasures. His music and persona has touched the lives of so many people. Those who knew him and knew his music have truly been blessed.
I, myself, was fortunate enough to meet and see him perform only once. His velvet voice. His captivating smile. He had charm and grace like no other. His energy on stage was electrifying. He is the real deal. There is only ONE Chris LeDoux. No one else will ever compare.
Many ... Many "Thank-You's" to you, the LeDoux Family, for sharing such a great role model, a wonderful poet, and a loving family man. He set a level of standards that few men will ever come close to reaching. Rest assured, Mr. Ledoux will be loved and remembered for many lifetimes to come.
Thank you for sharing such an outstanding person.
Our sincerest thoughts and prayers are with ya'll.

To All who visit this book - Please remember the LeDoux Family in your thoughts and prayers.
and...
EVERY chance you get..... Celebrate the life, music, and art of Chris LeDoux. A true hero.

"10-4 buddy come on back........"
March 13, 2005
I met Chris a few years back in a Fred Meyer in salt lake city. He was there signing autographs and a 4 hour signing session turned into more like 10 hours. This greatly impressed me even more of the "KING" of country and how much he cared about us fans. He will be missed by myself and my family and the legend will live on. God bless his family and watch over them and they are in our prayers. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with the rest of us and letting him be part of our lives also.
March 13, 2005
Grew up listing to Chris and have always been a fan of his music. I had seen him many times when he would do small concerts in Salina, UT and at the Ute Stampede in Nephi.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Chris was the real deal in a music industry of "wanna be's". His music was so easy to relate to which is one of the many reasons why he was our favorite. Our camping trips in and around Wyoming were never complete without his songs about cowboys, rodeos and "western skies". Thanks for the music and the memories. You will be missed!!
March 13, 2005

My thoughts and prayers are with the LeDoux family. Going to Mr. LeDoux's concert has always been a highlight of my childhood. He made his fans feel like his friends, and his songs made me even more proud to be from Wyoming. I am saddened that we won't have any more music from Mr. Ledoux, but take comfort in knowing he isn't suffering anymore, and is in a better place where we will hear him sing another day. I am grateful to his family for sharing him with us, and hope they all know how much we all care about them, in their time of sorrow. Thank you for all the great songs Chris, and the good times at our county fair, you will be missed!

I was just sick last night when I saw a special tribute on Chris that he had passed away. He was a wonderful song writer and cowboy who was loved much for any country western music lover. I saw him in concert in Rapid City but also living close to MT we knew his name well. He will be missed by all so very much.
March 13, 2005
Our family is greatly saddened by the loss of Chris LeDoux. We have
seen him many, many times in concert
and were lucky enough on a couple of
occasions to meet him personnally.
Everyone who knew Chris also knew
that his wife's name was Peggy. A
woman that he loved so dearly and was so very proud of. His fans knew
that Chris was an honorable husband
and father. It wasn't hard to see
that they held the sparkle in his eye. They were the spirit behind that wonderful smile. A smile that
we can hold onto in our memories of
Chris.
My husband went to a concert which
got rained out and chris was kind
enough to sign autographs. In return my husband was honored to help out in loading their bus and he
got to meet some of the band members
as well. Every year, we search for
his concert locations and do our best to make it to as many as we can. We'll miss him dearly, but his
spirit and music will live on in our
hearts. It's like loosing one of
your best friends. We take his music with us where ever we go. Our
family would like to express our
deepest sympathy to Chris LeDoux's
family. We would like to also thank
them for the sacrafices they made so
that his fans could enjoy his concerts. We realize that his commitment to his fans took him
away from home and his family. Chris was a blessing sent to us by God and a rare individual. Chris may be gone but never forgotten and it is our hope that true cowboys everywhere will allow him to serve as their role model. Our thoughts and prayers are with the LeDoux family. God Bless You! The Blain Family

March 13, 2005
Well, its been a few days now, and the sadness is still in my soul.
I remember back in 1976 or so, I was sound tech for a band named "Tarwater" we were playing the Cowboy Bar in Jackson Hole Wyoming, and were invited to a BBQ at Bo Tarletons'home (he wrote "Copenhagen Angel") And Bo said Chris was gunna do some songs he wrote, we were all excited to hear this, Well Some time later Bo got killed in an auto accident. Years have come and gone and i always enjoyed his music.
Then my brother inlaw got a call from Chris and the band offering him a spot in Western Underground, and got the job, so excited Lyle made it where he wanted to be,Playing and doing backup vocals with the MAN himself and old friend KW Turnbow.
They say to pass into the next life you leave behind for others to see, Honor, Respect, and your Name....I'm here to tell you, Chris Ledoux was in all aspects what every man desires to claim.
My heart felt condolences to his Family and friends band members and crew.

It's said that a second is that of an eternity on the other side? And there's 8 of them to ride.
Chris, tell ole Bo howdee for me

To Those I Love and To Those who Love Me:
When I am gone, Release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be thankful for our beautiful years. I gave you my love. You can only guess, How much you gave to me in happiness...
I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone.
So greive awhile for me, if greive you must, Then let your greif be comforted by trust.
It's only for a time that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on,So if you need me call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say-
HOWDY WELCOME HOME..........
To The Ledoux Family
GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU..
AND GOD BLESS Chris LeDoux

Chris is a person who is going to be greatly missed in both rodeo and the music world.
March 13, 2005
It seems like I have listened to Chris LeDoux music all of my life. I received my first 8-track tape directly from "the ranch" back in '73 and have loved and cherished this man's music every day since...I can't remember a time when I was at a rodeo that his music wasn't playing over the loudspeakers or from the tape deck of some old cowboy's truck. He knew how to touch the heart and idolize the lives of rodeo people. He will be deeply missed. Our prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow. Thanks for the good times, Cowboy!!!!!!!
March 13, 2005
Gonna be an empty space in the music world from here on out.

March 13, 2005
I first heard Chris's music many years ago, maybe 10 thereabouts.
Growing up in Australia we are influenced by country music from The USA and Canada and also our own type of country music.
With Chris I could close my eyes and picture a great rodeo rider.
he will surely be missed by many fans all over the world.
March 13, 2005
I first heard of Chris LaDoux during the early 1980's as a high school student. It was because of him that this skinny kid made it through those tough years of high school. I want to thank his family for shareing this wonderful man with all of his fans.

When we heard the news of Chris' passing it was almost like everything went to a pause for a minute or two. The radio that my husband, Tony was hearing the news from (KSOP) probably got a little quieter, as well as the TV show that I was watching when he called me to tell me. A sure tear came to our eyes. Chris LeDoux and his music had a significant role in our relationship. After Tony and I went on our first date, I swear this is true Tony must have dedicated "Shot Full of Love" to me at least 5-6 times in one night
over the radio waves and those waves must of done something because 4 mos. later we got married and we danced to that song at our wedding and"happy" tears came to our eyes then as everytime we hear one of your songs Chris. We Thank You for helping us find each other and we WILL keep listening and hearing you in our hearts Forever!!!
March 12, 2005
Condolences to his family. I love his music and the fantastic concerts he put on. "God must be a cowboy at heart" and he has a great one with him tonight.

March 12, 2005
Chris Ledoux was much more than a country singer to me. When I was a teenager in the 1970's, I would sneak into the Terrace Ballroom in Utah to watch him sing, spend nights under the stars listening to him at Lagoon, travel to Jackson Hole Wyoming to see him and his band. In the early 1980's, I was fighting cancer and he took the time to come visit me at the University of Utah hospital. Even though we had never met before, I felt that I had a true friend sitting there as we chatted about life, rodeo and music. I wish that I would have had the opportunity to sit in the edge of his hospital bed, and let him know that he had me as a true friend. Since then, he has been a big part of my life. I have raised two daughters on Chris Ledoux's music, and will continue to raise my grand children with his music and his love for family and the great West that we live in. The tears are beginning to fade, but my memories of Chris Ledoux never will.
March 12, 2005
My husband first introduced me to Chris' music, when we were first dating, he played "Look at You Girl" and "Call of the Wild". I've been hooked for 13 yrs now. My husband spent many a mile listenin' this music between rodeos.
Just last year my family and I were privledged to see him in concert at our little County Fair in Rifle, Colorado. The proceeds were given out in scholarships for future Cowboys and Cowgirls. I admire the way he put his heart and soul into everything he touched. He was a true legend and will be sorely missed. He has found his "Call of the Wild".
Our prayers go out to his Wife, Family and Friends.
God Bless you,
The Teague Family
March 12, 2005
Seeing Chris win the BB riding at the NFR in OKC, observing his artwork and listening to his music since the 70's ... he certainly did it all right!! Chris was a man true to his family, his music and his way of life! We'll miss you Chris!

March 12, 2005
I discovered Chris LeDoux and his music as a high school student in the 70's. Growing up in rural Utah, I had many opportunities to see Chris perform. Some of the best shows I've ever seen were Chris at the Terrrace in Salt Lake City. It's a shame that the rest of the country music establishment didn't embrace Chris and his music like Country Joe and KSOP did.
Chris will be greatly missed. He was an inspiration, as a singer, a bareback rider and as a man.
God bless Chris LeDoux.
March 12, 2005
Chris was my childhood hero. I was deeply saddened when i heard the tragic news. I did not know him, but felt as if a close friend had passed. I listened to him through my childhood, college rodeo days, and into adulthood. He will be greatly missed. Chris is one of a kind and sadly the end of an era.

Adios Chris
March 12, 2005

In Memory Of Chris LeDoux

Writing songs was in your blood
The words flowed from your heart

All the experiences were real
Just as your cowboy heart

Western was your life
Every single aspect of it

After many hits, and new CD releases,
Your life hit a halting point.

Good ole friends came forth
To be turned down with dismay

Undergoing surgery was a tuff time,
But all your fans were praying

You made it through alright,
And went back on the road

Those last few shows
Were no doubt the best

Falling ill again
You rested at your ranch

March 9th, year 2005
Brought shock to many

Moments of silence were taken
Many songs were dedicated

We know you’ve passed on
To the good Man above

Picking on the strings of your ole guitar
And laughing with Lane

We know you passed happily….

Beneath the Western Skies!

Chris LeDouz honestly has one of the most inspiring voices I've ever heard. I was born a country music fan, and moved to Nashville from Bethlehem, PA to get involved in the country music industry. Not only are we here in Nashville mourning the loss of such a great man, but the whole country is losing a true cowboy. We will all miss you Chris. God bless you, and your family. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember seeing Chris ride the rodeos. I never put two wnd two together, that he also sang. Then I saw the video for Silence on the line. It goes without saying that I have been a huge fan since the first time I saw that video. I find myself crying at any given time during the day when I think about the fact that he is gone.He will be missed not only by his family , friends, and fans, but also I believe by all the people who never really new about him till this tragedy. In a world that considers the talent of various artists in the country music scene to be so great, Chris WAS bcountry. He was what country should truly be about. The cowboy life he lived and loved and how he brought it to all of us to share in through his songs. My truly heartfelt sympathies for his family and friends.

I have always been a fan of Chris's. I remember hearing about his concerts in Panguitch, UT from my uncles and cousins. Two years ago I got to fulfill a dream of going down to Vegas and spending one night at the NFR and then seeing Chris perform the next night. I am greatful I got to see this legend perform. Chris was the cowboy's cowboy who never forgot where he came from. He will be greatly missed. We love you Chris!

I could not believe that this truly great man has gone on to greener pastures. I am still in shock, the first time I got to see him was at our Chaffee County fair, from then on I was hooked on a ride for life we saw him every year that he was at the Colorado State Fair. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loving wife and family. He will be sorely missed.

I first heard of Chris Ledoux in 1995 while travelling home late at night from a party in Idaho. On return back to Scotland although very difficult I have managed to pick up a few more CD's. On my return back to USA in 1998 and 2004 I have always returned with a Chris Ledoux CD. My favourite must be One Road Man, everyone a classic. Several years ago I saw a USA movie screened late at night regarding Chris's early life and struggles.

RIP Chris Ledoux: We all enjoyed and travelled on your 8 second ride
March 12, 2005

Many of the best experiences of my life occured with a Chris Ledoux CD playing in the background. No matter how big and famous, he was still never too proud to play the small time rib cookoffs and mountain man jamborees. I will miss the flame throwing guitar and the mechanical bull. God bless you and your family.

I already had one entry but thought I would share this poem because it is great. It was wrote by a family friend when my cousin Brandon died Dec. of 1999.

GOD'S LITTLE MESSENGER
Dear Family and Friends and Those who care, I have some exciting news to share.
I don't think a day has gone by
when here in heaven we don't hear a cry,
Someone praying for a loved one
or for God to send his blessing to someone.
I hear my name mentioned often,
for my friends and familys hearts to sof'en,
and let the heling of their hearts begin,
for them to hold their heads up again.
As God sits at his throne listening,
the heavens around him glistening,
he mentions for me now to go.
My destination is Earth, that I know.
So many of these trips I have taken.
It has made me one of the strongest angels in heaven.
With my beautiful wings I can fly and be God's little messenger from the sky.
When God sends me to do my job as a messengerI never ask why.
I know my duties are to touch your soul, soothe your fears and wipe your tears from your eyes.
I'm also here to protect you and keep you safe through the night. And help you see that things happen for a reason even though thet don't seem right.
My favorite thing that God has given me, is the ability to wrap my arms around you for etenity, Just to be with you everyday and to let you know that I am okay.
Family, I know it seems that my life just came and went but if you could only see, how happy living in heaven has made me.
I have experienced so much peacefulness and joy that God made me his messenger which is a lot of responsibility for a boy. It would just help you understand how God has changed me into a man.
We have fun here in heaven, it's the place of eternal bliss, my team of angels and I got together and created the angel kiss. So when you feel your nose twitching and tingling during the day, I'm touching the tip of my wing on your nose to send angel kisses your way.
When it's your time to join me in Heaven above, you'll see that I haven't changed at all, I'm just feeled with more love. The most important thing is what I am about to say being God's messenger keeps me only a prayer away!

Just remember on those difficult days that Chris is only a prayer away! God Bless!
March 12, 2005

Chris LeDoux ment alot to me even though I never met him in person. There was a time in my life that I just did not care anymore and just listening to Chris's music helped and made me realize that just because you are down does not mean you are out. My kids Tylinn age 6 and Kenzie age 4 have grown up listening to and singing Chris's songs and I could not have asked for anyone better for them to look up to. God Bless you Chris and your family! You will be greatly missed!

Chris will truly be missed in our home and in our county. The farmers, ranchers, and honky tonks all crank his tunes. His biggest fan is "Under this 'ole Hat", and I "Love a little bit of Rock & Roll". You will never be forgotten @ our little "Cadilac Ranch"!! Thanks for giving us part of you, in your music, before you rode into the sunset. All of prayers are with Peggy Ledoux and the kids. God Bless you all...AL

I first heard Chris sing in the motel rooms during the The Spring Royale in Calgary in 1972. My children couldn't understand why we listened to all of Chris"s music on trips. Now that they have gotten into horses, rodeo, and cowboying I have to keep all of the albums under lock and key, even the old 8 tracks. Chris showed them through his music that Cowboy is a state of mind, not a stereotype. He will live forever through his music in our family.
March 12, 2005
I took my 9 year old son Ty to see Chris at the Tulsa State Fair last October. Chris is his hero. Throughout the concert I'd try to pick him up so he could touch his hand, but we were about 4 rows back. At the end of the show, a guy next to me, picked Ty up and took him to the stage. Chris was walking off stage, but turned around to shake my son's hand. Chris was a true role model. Thank you for the music and memories!
March 12, 2005
CHRIS,I JUST WANT TO SAYTHANKS. WHEN I WAS LIVING IN HONDURAS A YEAR AGO MY TAPES OF WHERE OF YOU,THEY HELP REMIND ME OF HOME. THANKS

I have loved Chris since as far back as I can remember. My named my son Bronc after Chris and his gift for riding. The first concert my husband and I went to together was one of Chris' at Billy Bobs in Ft. Worth. Ironic that he was creamated on my husbands birthday and died the day of our anniversary. Peggy and his family will be in our prayers, The Good Lord has one heck of a man and a cowboy up there with him now! Alex, Teasha, & Bronc Dobkins

Chris was the true definition of a Cowboy. He loved his family and the heritage behind what a cowboy truly is, hard working, honest, a friend to all. Chris see you in heaven bud, where we can ride the "wild horses" together. Chris i'll meet you in heaven when my final ride time is up and thank God that he paid your entry fee and mine.

March 12, 2005
Since the first time I heard the 8 Second Ride, there was something that caught my attention. I love the words and the beat. I finally got to see the person behind the music. It was Nov. 10 2001 @ The Blind Horse Saloon. At the time I really didn't know the artist that sing the song, but a close friend took me to see him. It was one of the most wonderful surprises that I had ever had. I listen to country a little, but it was never the older style. When I heard 8 Second Ride for the first time it really stood out. His music and talent won't be forgotten.
March 12, 2005
What a sad day when I heard on the radio about Chris LeDoux passing away.I said next time he played at Billy Bob's Texas I was finally going to go see him in concert, but I waited to late.I first heard about Chris in the late 80's when I worked at Goodluck Rodeo Nightclub in Lewisville Texas which was later reopened as "The Cadillac Ranch". Brent played his music often. Chris was a favorite among the Rodeo regulars. He will be missed by many people.I heard on the radio that they are doing something special for Chris this weekend in Ft. Worth at the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Event. Thats how much Chris was loved in Texas."God Bless Chris LeDoux" we will miss you.
March 12, 2005
ONE HELL OF A COWBOY HE WILL BE MISSED IN UTAH!!! AND NEVER FORGOT HE GOT US THROUGH THE 70'S

March 12, 2005
What can I say? A great performer, and an even better guy. It has been said that he was the real deal, and I can't agree more. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform not only once but twice at Wild Bill's dance hall here in Georgia. It is sad that he is getting more attention in his death than he did while he was alive, because we need more role models like him. Anyway, Chris, travel on, man. Your award awaits you.
March 12, 2005
I loved Chris LeDoux music. He was an absolutely awesome singer/musician. My thoughts and Prayers go out to his family.
March 12, 2005
To Chris LeDoux:
You were a one-of-a kind Country music artist. You enjoyed every minute of it, and every song I listen to should be considered a classic. Hearing of your death was totally stunning. One minute, I hear and read that you were scheduled to be out on tour and the next minute, you are not here.
Your life in the rodeo is just as life-threatening, but every cowboy is tough and has to be tough-and not just act tough, and learn the game.
But by combining rodeo and music together, came a one of a kind of country music that I love to listen to. You came and performed in front of Colorado crowds, like in venues in Denver, Pueblo (8 times at the state fair and once during another venue) Grand Junction, Salida, Monte Vista, and Rifle.
My mom was also a huge fan and shocked to hear about the incident. No matter what, you may be gone but your music still lives, and forever, you are a legend
March 12, 2005
I will greatly miss Chris LeDoux and the wonderful childhood memories that his songs arise in me. Every time he played at the Austin rodeo I was there and enjoyed his show like no other. He was the example of a true man and I learned much from the experiences that his songs spoke about. He certainly made a mark in my life and I prey that his family overcome this tragic event. He was dearly loved and we will remember him dearly. Chris if your listening...we love you. I would have loved to have met you personally. Maybe another time in another life.
March 12, 2005
My deepest sympathies goes to Peggy and the Ledoux family.I loved his voice and his career. He will be greatly missed by all.He was the country singer whose got me in to country music. I will miss you Chris. COWBOY UP!!!
March 11, 2005
Chris was a role model for everyone. A person I always looked up to and tried to model my life after. As a songwriter, I always dreamed he'd record one of my songs. As a bronc rider, I always dreamed to have his type of success. And as a person, I wish I could treat everyone the way Chris did. I've had the great honor of meeting Chris a half dozen times, and he impressed me more and more each time with the way he handled everything around him. To a great person, but to an even great father and family man. My thoughts go out to my old pals Clay and Ned, the rest of the family, and especially Mrs. Ledoux (Peggy). You will be missed greatly by all of your fans, friends, family, and the people who respected you so much. A few months ago I ran into KW Turnbow, and we talked about how great of a man Chris was for 2 hours. It was a heck of a ride, that ended way too soon, but I know you'll beneath those Western Skys you love so much.

Your Pal,

Chris Ledoux was a gerat guy and I know he left a great memory to travel on here. I know he is in a better place now. I hope that Chris's wife and 5 kids are ok and know that Chris is watching over them and will take care of them.
March 11, 2005
My deepest sympathies to Peggy and the Ledoux family. Chris was a wonderful man and an awesome country singer. I have been a Ledoux fan for over a decade, pictures, t-shirts, window stickers, concert stubs and a hat I retired because of his signature I will cherish forever. To me the news was shocking, last I had heard he was doing well. Chris you will be missed, in my eyes you are "Tougher Than The Rest" RIP
March 11, 2005
Chris LeDoux was a true Cowboy. He will be greatly missed. I remeber listing to him in the 70's going to rodeos. My son knew and could sing all his old songs before he even started school. Those memories will always be with me and my family. He was a great guy. I would like to thank his family for sharing him with us.
March 11, 2005
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
My family will never forget the wonderful memories of watching Mr. Ledoux at Billy Bobs Texas.
Chris took our daughter in his lap and sang "Look At You Girl" on the occasion of her third birthday.
We know the Lord wanted the BEST Cowboy singer for His Chior.
March 11, 2005
Not often do we get a man such as Chris, someone who we can look up to, and and can remind us that there is still honest, and great people in this world. Chris will be missed and will be loved by all. May God be with you Chris and to his family, be proud of Chris, and everything he stood for, for now he is with God, and having all the rewards promised to us all.
March 11, 2005
I am deeply sadden over the passing of Chris. I saw him in concert more than any other performer and I had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions and he was a genuine down to earth great guy. My prayers and thoughts are with his family in this difficult time, but I know he is watching over them in the "western skies". I'll miss you Chris but your music will live on.
March 11, 2005
Chris was one of us. A good ol' boy in a world of pretenders. The Hat,the Buckle and the Man were real. When he sang about the wind in the barbed wire, you know he heard it, you know he lived it.

What an original. What a loss
March 11, 2005
Well, I heard the news on the 9th, and I couldn't help but cry. such a sad day. I seen Chris in concert back in 1997, he was so full of energy. What a great man we have all lost. But, now he's ridin' them "cotton candy clouds" up in those Big "western skies".
Ride cowboy ride.
We will miss you!
March 11, 2005
~God Bless Chris LeDoux~
March 11, 2005
Now this was a REAL cowboy. Not to mention his wonderful music. I can say that I was able to see him in concert, front row to say the least! He will be missed and in our hearts forever.
March 11, 2005
Mr. Ledoux & Family,

I was always inspired by your music, attitude, and take on life. I was touched with a bit of sadness today upon hearing the news. I've raised my girls listening to your music - My 7 year old daughter's favorite song is "county fair".

I wish the best to the Ledoux family and am sorry for thier loss.

May all of us keep his legacy of "cowboy" alive.

"As long as there's a sunset, he'll keep riding for the brand...you just can't see him from the road".
March 11, 2005
Thanks for melodies and memories Chris your music has helped me thru some tough times. If there is anything that I can do to help the LeDoux famliy let me know I'm only 14 or so cd's away
March 11, 2005

March 11, 2005
all i have to say is god bless chris ledoux
March 11, 2005
I would just like to say Thank you Chris. You have done so much for me and saw me through some of the hardest times. I love your real life music, it has touched me and i can relate to all the songs you wrote. You are one hell of a cowboy, and there is one less tornado in texas, and one hell of a cowboy in heaven at that big rodeo in the sky. I wish i could have meet chris or atleast attend one of his concerts, but i am sort of a new fan. I have only been listen to rodeo rockin roll for about a year or so. I started by listen to a old worn out tape of chris ledoux a guy had at the machine shop i worked at and when i heard my first chris ledoux song photo finish i was hooked. about 3 monthes ago my girlfriend i were talking about names for kids when we have them and the only one we could agree on for a boy would be levi ledoux, that in it self shows what a great man chris is and how he has touched so many and definely myself, he is and always will be a true american hero and your songs will roar through the speakers forever. there is no one and will never be another true country hero like chris. My prayers along with many others will shower down on peggy and your family and friends. I just hope i can be half the man he was and love one person half as much as he loved peggy. God bless you and hope to hear one of your concerts one day and watch you ride them broncs, cause i know your up there playing those good ole country songs and setting your mark and spurring like never before. we all will miss you and will pray for your family. Happy trails chris and thanks for all you have done and how you have touched me God Bless you Peggy and Your Family

I am deeply saddened by the loss. He was the reason I listened to country music. I seen him in concert 7 times throughout Nebraska and loved it more every time.
March 11, 2005
He will be truly missed.
He will be in our hearts forever.
He is still the best.
March 11, 2005
I'm still in shock over this!!!

I saw Chris in concert in Jackson, MS several years ago. He was great!! I was right up front and got some really good pictures of him. He was so good looking!

Our son (Bubba) had so many of Chris tapes. I have all of those tape and have been buying the new ones since Bubba's death in 1997.

I can remember driving to all the rodeos and listening to Chris. Hearing them at the rodeos and also Bubba would have them blaring in his room on his stereo.

I know Chris will be resting in peace now, just like Bubba is doing.

So many Memories......

THANKS FOR THE

GREAT

MEMORIES

I have driven thousands of miles over the years between home and Montana. I was almost always alone, late at night and many times in bad winter weather. The only thing that kept me awake was singing along with a Chris LeDoux CD. I never met the man, but he was my good friend and I miss him.

WHAT? I was stunned to hear the news. Chris LeDoux has been taken from us way to early. I am honored to have seen him in concert not once, not twice, but three times! He was a wonderful performer, excellent singer, songwriter, and super human being. My prayers and thoughts go to his wife and children. May they find peace in the Lord during this sad time. Chris will always be with us in Heart and will never be forgotten. God Bless his family.
Always remember the smiles.

My husband introduced me to Chris's music. I am very fortunate that I did see him in concert once. It is very sad to know I won't have that pleasure again. Chris is what cowboys and America are all about. Pure, true and honest. We would both like to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. I can't imagine the void there must be without him. So many are mourning his passing. Feel confident to know that he and his music will never be forgotten. Chris lives on for all us and I am sure that is how he would want it. You and Chris are in our prayers. God bless Chris LeDoux. Amelia and Mike Mondry

I have only been a Chris LeDoux fan for a few short years but his music inspired and touched me. I've seen him in concert twice and was blown away by his energy and "down to earth" personality. My fiance has been a long time fan and is the one who introduced me to his music. We were both shocked and heartbroken to hear the news of his passing. He was an amazing entertainer and he will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of Chris' family and friends. Chris---hope you are rocking them in that big rodeo in the sky buddy!! God bless.

Chris,
You made us sit at the edge of our seats with your rides, get up and dance our boots off with your energetic tunes, lulled us to sleep with your ballads, thank the lord that we live in God's country, and cry at hearing of your passing. "Thanks Cowboy for the Ride"

To the LeDoux family:
No words could ever appropriatly express such a loss. You are in my deepest prayers and thoughts. From the entries here it is obvious just how many lives Chris has touched and how many men have molded their lives from his lifestyle. I pray that the future generations of men will do the same. Chris IS a true legacy.

“I am standing on the seashore. A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. I stand watching her until she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says ‘She is gone.’ Gone where? The loss of sight is in me, not in her. Just at the moment when someone says ‘She is gone,’ there are others who are watching her coming. Other voices take up the Glad shout, ‘Here She comes,’ and that is dying.”
Henry Scott Holland

My sincerest and warmest wishes to the LeDoux Family and Friends. I cannot imagine how it must feel to be without Chris' presence. Please know that there are many prayers being offered for your comfort.

With deepest sympathy and affection,
