Godspeed, powerplant guys. We're getting ready to build 3 of these gasburners in NC and I can only hope we'll learn from what happened at Middletown. I've been building and operating big coalburners for 30 years. I've seen 6 fatalities in that time and I know life can change in a matter of seconds.

To the families of the CT Power plant victims:

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let your memories and the scriptures bring you hope.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.

Job 14:14, 15 If an able-bodied man dies can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, Until my relief comes. You will call, and I myself shall answer you. For the work of your hands you will have a yearning.

Psalm 147:3 He is healing the brokenhearted ones, And is binding up their painful spots.
February 11, 2010
Our deepest sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones.
As I look across the river to the lights on the hill....it is a different sort of light that we had gotten used to seeing. No blinking red lights on the towers, just brightness and deep shadows.
But high in the sky there are now some very special stars....to look down upon the workers of the different trade unions, to keep them safe, to guide their hands. Blessings to those who work so hard to build our country every day, unseen, and until something tragic happens, just a construction worker.....not a face to go with a name.

Reading about him in the Courant newspaper article, it sounds like he made the same impact on people who knew him in Conneticut as he made on all who knew him here in Illinois. He was a great guy who always smiled and lived life to its fullest. He will be greatly missed by all. God bless his family.

My deepest condolences are with you in your time of grief. May you all continue to find comfort in the memories that you all shared together and get comfort from knowing one day Sickness will be no more and Death will be a thing of the past. In times of grief such as these, I find it comforting to meditate on the words found in the Holy Writings at Job 14:14, 15. Job expressed his faith that God would bring him back to life if he should fall asleep in death, "All the days of my compulsory service I shall wait, Until my relief comes. You will call, and I myself shall answer you." The scriptures indicate that it is possible to reunite with your loved one in the near future, right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. Psalms 37:10, 11 offers us this promise. My sincere condolences to all of the victims entire family.

Monica and I want to convey are deepest sympathies to all the families involved with this trajedy, but especially to Ron's family. Ron was the kind of person that you couldn't help but like immediately. He was so full of life and could best be described as a happy person. We can't begin to come to grips with his loss. I will fondly remember the many hunting stories that he shared with me and nights trick or treating with the kids.

I wanted to express my deep pain and sorrow to everyone that knows someone affected by this tragedy. John 5:28, 29 says "there will come a time when those who are in the memorial tombs, will hear his voice and rise", gives us all the hope that God will resurrect those loved ones whom we have lost in death, and this gave me strength to continue when I lost my father. We will be able to see them, embrace them and have them healthy again, very soon- and never have to fear losing them again.

To all the families who have lost someone in this tragedy. I am so sorry for your loss I can't even begin to know what you are going through at this time. One of the things that I personally have found to be a great source of cofmort is the thoughts expressed in the Bible at John 5:28,29 where we see that God is going to bring our loved ones back to life. Also at Revelation 21:4 we see that God is going to eliminate all of the causes for sorrow and pain including death itself. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring your family comfort at tthis time. Once again I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. An encouraging thought from the Bible i wanted to share is found at John5:28-29 where Jesus promises to one day soon, awaken many who are asleep in death. When those who have died are resurrected, they will reside on earth under righteous and peaceful conditions.

In the meantime may you continue to rely on God to sustain you during these sorrowful days.

This has been tragic news.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you all forever that you find comfort...true comfort amidst such a tragedy.

At least the bible indicates they are sleeping now (ecc.9:5) and feel no pain and that soon they are promised to awaken just like Jesus did to Lazarus (John 5:28-29). At that time though the earth will be a beautiful paradise as it was originally (Psalms 37:9-11). I can truly imagine all the wonderful things we will have to tell them and express, like how much we missed them.
