Racing has been a part of my life since I was a little girl, my dad, grandpa and uncles were all involved in dirt track stock car racing at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson Michigan. You have been "my guy" from your beginning. You are the spittin' image of my little brother Bob, and it feels like we've lost a family member. "June Bug" is carrying on the legacy of the great Earnhardt name, and he is "my new guy" in your absence and your honor. You could never really be replaced, be it on the track our in our hearts. GOD bless.

Dale,
You will forever be missed by all. I will never forget the end of the Daytona 500 02/18/2001 when the whole world thought it was going to be a 1 2 3 finish with you protecting Mikey & Jr, and then you crashed. I knew by the look on Ken Schrader's face after the wreck that things were bad. Never even crossed my mind you had left us. You had made it through much worse.Then Mike Helton announced that we had lost you. The whole world was in shock and Grieving. How could this be. You were supposed to be going to Victory Lane with Mikey.
RIP Dale.
We love you & miss you,
Debbie & Belinda

July 30, 2010
It has been almost 9 1/2 years since your last race on earth and the pain is still very much real for me as a fan - I can't imagine what the family feels like. You are still, as always, greatly missed. The Daytona Race on July 2 of this year was very emotional for alot of people - it was awesome to see The # 3 Wrangler on the Track and take the checkered flag. Jr. gave an awesome speech in the winner's circle, as soon as he crossed the line and took the checkered flag, I cried, as I'm sure alot of others did. It was great to see The Family and everyone come together to honor you with that car on that Track. You will ALWAYS be missed!
We love you & miss seeing the Black "3" on the Track. FOREVER AN EARNHARDT FAN!
May 18, 2010
April 01, 2010
You are truely a lengend. I was at Daytona when you won in 1998. I was a spectacle to see all the drivers line up as you did you victory lap. If that didnt have you in tears I am not sure what would. I remember when he died and there was an obiturary in our local paper in rochester ny. I can remember family and friends of my father(who was a die hard fan)calling him and sending him condolenses as if he was a relative. You will never be forgotten........You are the intimadator
March 07, 2010
For Dale...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

October 24, 2006
I was watching the race as I do every weekend and to see the accident that claimed your life was just so hard to handle. I knew when you didn't get out of the car something was terribly wrong and my heart just started beating so fast. I kept screaming at the T.V. for you to get out of your car, but I could tell by the way everyone was talking it wasn't going to happen. Watching Dale Jr. run to the infield after the abulance made my heart just stop. Both my childern and I were crying for weeks after that race. It isn't the same without that #3 car there but I know you Dale you are always driving with Dale Jr. in his car. You are forever missed and will never be forgotten. Dale Jr. is making you proud and he is a chip off the best race car driver in the world. Because he had the best teacher in you. From a very loyal and forever fan of the best thing on T.V. NASCAR You and your family are in my prays ever night.
October 21, 2006
Christmas in Daytona is never the same without you.
October 13, 2006
It's hard to watch a race without the man in black driving the #3 Good Wrench car. I've lost family members that made my heart ache and was truly surprised to find that I mourn Dale just as much. There is a group of us that take turns having the party on race day. I don't mind mentioning that our favorite driver is the #8 Bud Chevrolet driven by JunBug and to see Thersa at the tracks is a real thrill. RIP, my favorite driver!
October 08, 2006

June 04, 2006
Dale,you are greatly missed and loved by us. I was 6 weeks pregnant with my youngest son when you left us. My family consisted of me, my now ex-husband and then 2 year old son. We packed up the car 2 days later and drove from Panama City Fl. to Moorseville 2 days later. I missed your funeral on t.v., but went to D.E.I. to pay our respects. We stayed about 2 hours total and came back home the next day. In September, we welcomed the newest member into this world. A 9lb. 1oz. little boy. His name is Kristopher Earnhardt Ashley Fletcher. He is 4 and a half now and loves racing. I hope to take my kids back to D.E.I. so they can realize how important you were and still are to millions worldwide.

April 05, 2006
To the Earnhardt family. I too am an avid race fan. I rally for the #8 team everyweek. I regret to say that the 2001 Daytona 500 was my first race to watch. My prayers are with the family. My 3 year old son died 8 months ago when he was at the lake with his aunt and uncle. It is not the same as losing a parent, but to lose a child is very hard. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

To tell the truth I haven't been able to watch a race since that tragic accident. I'm sorry for the Earnhardt family but I'm more sorry for Dale Jr. because he the must like him.

You were very good at racing Dale. It's sad that you're gone now. But you will always remembered in the hearts by those who were watching you race on TV and by those who were in the stands watching on that sad and fateful day. It's sad not seeing the Black Number 3 on the race track.
February 18, 2006
Thanks for keeping Dale's memory alive. I still miss him and always will. His legacy will live on forever. We miss you Dale! Nascar is just not the same without the Black 3.

I happened to stumble on this site by accident and want to express my condolences to the Earnhardt family. There will never be another Dale Sr; he was the best. However, I have grown to love Dale Jr and was happy to read that he has said he will drive the 3 car before the end of his career. I only hope I live that long to see it.
February 15, 2006
Though you are gone the legend of you will live in the lives of many. The world lost so much the day you hit that wall, and you will truly never know how much you were loved. I now cheer for your son Dale Jr, but racing will never be the same without you. You are sadly missed.

Yes I am "Earnhardt". My father passed away 5/3/06 and he died a "3" DIEHARD Fan. He always said Lil "E" is going to be like his Dad. That's how I became a race car fan. My "DAD" William Eugene Earnhardt. I know how everyone misses Dale E.... because I sure miss my Dad. He was my heart (other than my mom (whom is still living) and my children and family.

When i thank about you, I want to cry. Sometimes I do, sometimes I hold it in. But when your birthday comes or when the day you died comes, all I can do is cry. I know it's a long ways off before one of them times comes again, but those days all I do is cry and I wear black in memory of The Intimidator.
Love and miss you dearly,

You will always be THE MAN and I will miss you forever.
May 28, 2005
There aint a day that goes by without me thanking of you. You were an awesome person for doing everything possible to win a race, even if it meant tearring up your car to do it. Now, talent searchers look for that stuff, and you have inspired me to race. I thank you for that because it is the biggest thrill of my life! Love and miss you bunches!
May 09, 2005
There is not a week that goes by that we don't wish to see that #3 zip down the next straight away. You truly touched MILLIONS of people - inside and outside of the race track.

I still miss you, Dale. NASCAR hasn't been the same without you.
April 06, 2005
Well, 4 years have come and gone already, and I just can't believe it. I still have a hard time watching races. In fact, the only reason that I watch at all now is Dale, Jr. I still haven't watched a race from start to finish since you left us. I only switch over to see how Jr is doing. I never thought there would be anything that could keep me from spending my Sunday afternoons in front of my television watching my favorite driver participating in my favorite sport. However, I never thought about you dying doing what you loved. You are missed and always will be. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, and my loyalties in Nascar now go with Junior. I know you would be very proud of him. May God keep him safe, and may you rest in peace.
April 05, 2005

It's hard to believe you have been gone for 4 years. There's not a day that goes by without me thanking of you. You were the best race car driver of all time! I never got to meet you, but that was always my dream. As I grow older, I'm 14 now, I respect you more. You are the one that got me into racing. Without you, I would be sitting at home on Friday and Saturday nights.

Love ya lots,

I found your guest book as I was viewing my brothers. I would of gladly signed long ago.
I had been a fan of yours since you started racing, my daughter become one too, and her husband is also. I couldn't believe my eyes that day, my heart was broke, I couldn't watch the races for quite awhile after that day, but now, I root for Jr and Michael too. You would be so proud of Jr as he has grown so and has become a great man.
I know you wouldn't of wanted to go anyway but the way you did, doing what you loved and you gave us great memories when we saw you running that #3.
God bless your family and give them peace and to know how much you are loved and missed.
forever missed.
ps. remember you on your birthday as I have 2 great friends that share your day.
June 16, 2004
Dear Dale,
Your memory lives on FOREVER!!!!! Dale Jr is doing great, as I'm sure you know. I miss you just as much today as I did the day we lost you. Racing has been a much different place without that Black #3 Goodwrench Chevy! I pull for JR every week, but it still is hard to get back into racing the way I used to be. Funny how one missing piece can make all the difference in the world. I remember the loss just like it was yesterday....I know your there with Jr every time he steps into that car and it brings tears to my eyes every time I see him cross that finish line FIRST!!!! He's become a great driver and I am so proud of him. Just wish you could still be here. Like the Diamond Rio song says "One More Day" But then again we'd be wishin still for one more day with you!
Forever In My Heart
My Hero
Rest in Peace

I have watched you race since I was a young child. and now that you are gone, you will be greatly missed. I have been wearing your son's ball cap number 8 since I was 2years of age. I am now 10 years old and everytime a friend of mine goes to Daytona 100, I get a new hat to replace my exsisting one!! I follow Dylan Jr. racing now and I enjoy watching him as I have watched you! Love you Dale Sr!! I miss you racing!!
May 18, 2004
I started watching Dale Earnhardt when I was only 2 years old with my uncle. It was "our bonding time", to watch Dale every Sunday. I miss those times that we spent together watching the best racer ever. My thoughts and prayers are always with his family.
May 17, 2004
hey people, I was one of Dale Earnhardt's biggest fans when I watched his his car crash I was afraid he was hurt. When I heard he was dead I cried. He inspired me to also keep goin and never quit.

May 13, 2004
Will miss you forever. You are the best.
May 12, 2004
We'll always miss you
May 06, 2004
Dale, you were my whole reason for going to Nascar races in the first place. You brought excitement to the sport. I was there to see your last win at Talledega in 2000 and to Jr. win at Daytona that summer, 2000, and Michael Waltrip right behind him. #3 and #8 fills this room in my home with one special picture above my computer. Your picture is on top and below it reads, "Get On With Life." Racing is different now and it will be from now on but I am getting on with my life. Being at Charlotte (Fall 2003)& see Richard Childress bring out that #3 car and take a couple lapes was great! Not a dry eye in the crowd after that. You would've been so proud. You never knew how much you were loved and now missed. We all are caring on tradition with Jr. now although you could NEVER be replaced. With you smiling down on him, he'll go far. We miss you Dale and you'lll always be in our hearts at each race from now on.
May 05, 2004
Dale
I just found out about this way of leaving condolences as my sister recently passed. I would like to send you a belated birthday wish and if you could would you please check on my sister Dorothy, as she's new up there and may need someone to help her find her way around as she's not good with direction. ( she gets lost easy ) I miss you and your # 3 car each week but I'm sure that your proud how Dale Jr. has been doing, and you have to be proud of what Kerry was doin at talledgeda last weekend before he spun out. I met Kerry at LakeErie Speedway last year and he sure is a great guy. My sis wasn't a nascar diehard fan but she knew who you were and she would get me some sort of present each year something of yours a car a card or something with the # 3 for Christmas as long as I can remember so if you could take her under you wings and help her make friend's until I get up there I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks and lets hear some thunder so I know that your both alright.

Believe it or not, you and Theresa remind us of ourselves. So much so that even to this day,,, I get emotional when I see photos of you guys........ and man oh man.... How 'bout that Dale Jr. at Daytona yesterday. The neigbors heard us screaming..... We have a wolf hybrid female who is 5 years old - that actually watches Nascar with us..... Check this out... When we sing along with the National Anthem........ she sits up - and at the end.......... she knows just when to "HHHHHHHHOOOOOOOWWWWWWLLLL.
I'm certain God has you busy drafting someone. XXXOOO Love Wolf & Lisa.

hey dale
i bet you saw the first race week how good your son did at the track of daytona! and DEI did wonderful. 4 races won by your team i bet you are proud. well we are all still missing you at MIS its not the same when the drivers come theres no balck number three causing all the commotion. just regular racing between rookies and veterns no legends or nothing! well i better get going

miss you forever at M~I~S
February 24, 2003
Racing just hasnt been the same since Dale is gone. Sure miss seeing that number 3 car on the track every week! What a great driver he was!
February 19, 2003
It's been two years, and I still can't bear to watch a race from start to finish. I still find myself watching for that black number 3 to come into view. I do tune in every now and then to see how "Little E" is doing, but it's just not the same, and I know it never will be. I just can't believe you're really gone. I see these guys walk away from crashes that were far worse than the one that took you away from us, and I just shake my head in amazement. I know you are in a better place, and I pray that you are resting in peace. I also pray for peace for your fans, friends, and family who are left behind to remember.
February 18, 2003
I STARTED WATCHING CAR RACING NOT LONG BEFORE MR. EARNHARDT DIED AND I'VE ENJOYED EVERY BIT OF IT. NOW I WATCH IT TO SEE DALE JR. RACE. I JUST WANT THE FAMILY TO KNOW THAT I'M PRAYING FOR THEM. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
February 14, 2003
I really got into nascar within the
last two years. I was very hurt to hear about his death. I will miss
watching the number 3 go around the race track, since I can no longer watch him race I will watch his son race. I was numb when I heard that he died. I was watching the race on tape when I saw the crash and heard he died I just could not believe what I was really hearing. If the number 3 returns to racing which I hope it does, I believe an Earnhardt should drive it. I really would like to see the number 3 return to racing. I really enjoy watching racing more and more everytime I watch it. My girlfriend and I both send our deepest condolences in the loss of Dale in feb. of 2001. We will continue to watch his son race and hope he does well. She has also gained an interest in racing within the last 1 to 2yrs. Within the last 2yrs I have started collecting nascar collectables, I love every second of it. I hope your DEI family as well as all of your nascar family continues to have success in nascar
and we look forward to the day when Kerry comes to Winston Cup and then we will also watch him race as well
Good Luck and God Bless.

September 16, 2002
I have watched you for many years.I cried for you each time that for some unknow reason things didnt go well on the race track,for each Daytona 500 that was in your grasp and just quietly slipped away.I jumped for joy when you finally won that one race that you so patiently went after Daytona 500. Then when she took you away from us, i blamed her so much that i vowed i wouldnt ever go back to her,but i knew that was wrong for you loved her and she graced you in ever way and everything that you went after there at her house. She has even graced Dale Jr the way she used to do you Dale. His time will come and and he will master her just like you did.She took you away,but when Dale Jr went back to the track on that steamy night in July,she seen to it that he would go for the gusto and bring home the gold,she did it for you Dale, Dale Jr did it for you. He loves you so much. To all that was there in July when they went back we all know that the Black#3 was riding on the track and was pushing your son to the finish line. You might be gone but your not forgotten. You will NEVER be forgotten. Your legacy will live on in your sons Dale Jr and Kerry.God Speed my friend.
September 16, 2002
Dale, you never left us. There isn't a day that goes by that you aren't in my thoughts. I see you every time I watch Jr race. I visit DEI every day that I go to North Carolina for the Coca Cola 600. Know we love you and always will. I know you'll always be here for those of us that love you so.
May 30, 2002
hey dale
well i have been downloading songs the were tributed to you heres one by garth brooks the dance “After the accident in turn 4 at the end of the Daytona 500 we lost dale earnhardt” president of NASCAR
“Its like a dream that I don’t want to come true just wish it go away and never come back but unfortunately it is true and he. He is gone he’ not here” fan

Looking back on the memory

“And so he’s racin drivin’ or racin it’s really ridiculous” driver

Of the dance we shared ‘neat the stars alone For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

“Terry labonte takes the lead and here comes earnahrdt, he hits labonte, labonte is spins in turn 2 out of turn number 4 dale earnhardt will win.” announcer

And now I'm glad I didn't know
the way it all would end the way it all would go

“We lost the greatest driver this sport ever had” president of NASCAR

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd of had to miss the dance

“ This is a tremendous lost in the sport of racing I mean we have lost the greatest star there has ever been” president of NASCAR
“We thought the intimidator would ever get hurt or not be racing and now. And now that he’s gone he’s dead its just disbelieve” fan
“I knew dale before he ever start drivin I raced with his father then I raced with dale for a long time and there is just certain people that you don’t feel this ever could happen to and he’s one of them” Kyle petty
“Losin the main leader of a sport wit dale its just unbelievable I think that any one that follows a sport or is involved in a sport a ill way or big way is kinda known today” driver

For a moment wasn't I a king But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all And now I'm glad I didn't know

“ My believe is that in a twinkle of an eye you are in the presents of the lord and that’s where I think dale is” Michael waltrip

The way it all would end the way it all would go

“He was a dear friend and he really likes the sport” friend

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

“Maybe this is gods way of letting the world find him by letting it happen here” driver

But I'd have had to miss the dance

“ My dad was the focus of my life I didn’t like school I wanted to be home working on my dads race car I didn’t like school I’d rather be home working on cleaning the shop I didn’t like school I just rather be washing wrenches” dale earnahrdt junior

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance

I just miss the excitement dale senior added to it uh. Especially when Bristol comes who else is rusty Wallace going to whine about?” friend
’I used to uh watch him every Sunday and its just really sad it hurts my heart that I can’t come home every Sunday and watch him”
“North Carolina is all about racin tobacco farmin and that pretty much sums up dale” wife treasa earnhardt
‘”I am from north Carolina Kannapolis a small town I grew just wanting to be a race car driver not a great race car driver not one that has won championships or anything its unbelievable that all the recreation you get doing what you really enjoy doin’ and achieve what you worked for

well ove you bye

April 01, 2002
They called him the intimidator,
the man in the black number three
People would come from all over,
It was him they wanted to see
eack and every sunday they'd watch him on the track
dedication and admiration for this driver no one ever lacked
on thar fateful day,
close to the final turn
something happened that caused great consern
Even though no one thought it was that bad
Later we heard that junior had lost his dad
the fans were heartbroken,
they couldn't believe it was true
Not only family shed tears even people he never knew
Everyone will rember Daytona 500 of 2001
Thats the day the life of a ledgend was over and done.

October 23, 2001
Dale
We miss you so much. We lost a member of our family as did your immediately fam. We are not sure we will ever get over it completely. Our daughter was a dihard Earnhardt fan, from the day he asked her to wear his hat. Your passing has left a permanent hole in our hearts. Race well for god. We know you are watching all that goes on here.
October 20, 2001

October 20, 2001
I am only been a race fan for a Short time but, my mom and dad told me that I shared the same birthdy as Dale
August 08, 2001
It's been almost six months since you left us, but in my heart it was yesterday. Your passing has been very hard on me. I feel as though I have lost a close friend or a member of my family. For nearly 14 years, you were either in my home every weekend, or I was at a track somewhere watching you. Once, I stood in line in the pouring rain for 2 1/2 hours just to get your autograph and spend a couple of seconds with the greatest race car driver on the circuit. From the moment I started watching Nascar, you were THE man. There was never another driver in my mind or heart. Even when you were having a rough time and you weren't winning races. When I got kidded at work about it, I would just smile and say, "He'll be back, just wait and see." I just can't believe you won't ever be back. I still can't watch a race. It's just too hard to watch knowing that "The man in black" is gone forever. I do tune in occasionally to see how Dale Jr. and the other DEI drivers are doing, but I will never again spend a Sunday afternoon watching flag to flag coverage, and I doubt that I will ever visit another race track. It's just not the same, and it never will be. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten, at least not by this fan. Rest in Peace.
August 07, 2001
well we were just thinking about dale today and thought i would write and say we are still missing him. we still are watching the race but it just is not that exciting as it was before. dale you are always in our prayers. you are #1

Today would have been your 50th birthday......and most likely your 656th start.

As we watch today's race in Fontana, we will remember you...and celebrate your life....

Keep an eye on Dale Jr. today. He didn't qualify well but he had one of the fastest cars in practice yesterday....Shine that ol' grin down on him today....Wouldn't that be some present??

Talladega just wasn't the same...but we guess you knew that, huh?

Happy 50th in Heaven....from a family of devoted Car 3 Fans!
April 29, 2001

April 22, 2001
I am an 18 year old Male Senior from Bells. I didn't like Nascar at first, until I watched Dale win a race. No one won with the same style. He had his own genre racing style. He was and still is my child-hood hero, and role-model. He inspired me to become a racecar driver. Now that I am racin, I am racing for Dale now, because he is the only reason why I am doing what I am doing. I see dale in the way drive:Aggressive, patient when needed, and always carry a heavy foot. My car this year is painted like the Wrangler car. My number is 03. Dale will lead me to victory. He won the biggest race possible. The race to heaven! Well, I will miss you man! I have never mourned over one so much that I never met, but I felt like I knew ya man. I love ya, and look over me. SEND ME TO VICTORY!!!!!!! :>D
April 18, 2001

March 27, 2001
My deepest sympathy goes to the Earnhardt family. I was one of the biggest fans ever of Dale. He was the best racer ever in my eyes. I have followed his racing since I was a very little girl. I have enjoyed watching him every Sunday. The races aren't the same without him, but once an Earnhardt fan always an Earnhardt fan, so I will back JR. all the way and Harvick. May God Bless you all. I will always love you all and pray for you. Your family has brought many joys to my life even though we don't know each other personally. March 26, 2001
To the Earnhardt Family

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again.

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were taken for a reason
And only God knows why.

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you'll mever be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is were you'll always stay.

I have always loved racing and you were and always will be NASCAR Winston Cup racing. Even though racing will never be the same without the Intimidator on the track, I will remain forever faithful to the sport for you Dale Earnhardt. Thanks for the many wonderful years of racing you have given to all of us members of the NASCAR racing family. The thrills, the excitement and the memories will always be with me. May God comfort all the members of the Earnhardt family at this time of loss and may you always know how glad we were to be able to share the life of this wonderful man with you. Dale you the man. Now you have competed and won. The final finish line.
March 08, 2001
It will soon be almost a month that Dale Earnhardt has left us. Still, it does not seem real. Though I have watched the last two races, as a race fan should, I still find myself looking for the black #3 coming up through the middle of the pack. The thrill is just not there, but I was happy for Kevin Hardwick's finish. Dale would have been happy. I root for Dale Jr. the most and then all of Dale's drivers thereafter. Dale, may you win all the races in heaven and have fun competing with all your old friends. You will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Kim Martin, Tennessee

THE EARNHARDT'S,
MAY YOU FIND PEACE SOME DAY WITH THIS TRAGIC LOSS. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU!
March 06, 2001
I'm not really a race fan - but the name Earnhardt is synonymous with racing even to me. That he died doing what he did best, loved best and made famous may be the only bit of comfort his family can acknowledge right now. Any loss of a family member, a father, a husband is so devastating to his survivors. Fame does not diminish this pain.

I offer my deepest condolences.
March 05, 2001
TO THE EARNHARDT FAMILY

March 05, 2001
To the Friends and Family of Dale Earnhardt. My Prayers are with you all. Big E will be dearly missed. Nascar wont be the same without him. A message just for Little E, Dont try to be your father. That is impossible. Just be yourself and drive your race. You can do it!! I have great faith in your abilities, and so did your father. Remember the lessons he taught you and you will be fine. I know I dont know much about what he did teach you, only what I have read in articles about you and your father. But, what I did read tells me that he loves you very much and is very proud of you. Best of luck this year to you, your teammates, and your family. Remember, your father is with you always.
March 05, 2001

I can remember back to when I just started watching Nascar. That yellow and blue wrangler #3 was always my favorite. The black #3 Goodwrech Chevrolet was even more appealing. I watch ever week that I can, it will never be same witout Dale. It must go on but it won't be as it was. I would like to wish all of the Earnhardt family my best wishes and blessings. Dale will be missed every week that I can watch Nascar.

We have plenty of things that we can keep to honor and remind us of Dale. He was a true hero. My husband has almost every collectable known to the racing world. Things that can't be replaced now, memories!
Enjoy the time you have with family and friends, these are memories that can't be replaced and these are the things that will get your through these rough times.

I never wanted you to win,untill it was too late,but I never wanted you too lose.We'll miss you much,rip!
March 01, 2001
Dale Earnhardt is my role model. He is admired by more than just race fans. I respect Dale Earnhardt and his family values. He loves the outdoors and fishing which is something I like to do. He is number one in my book. I also believe in winning, and that is something that Dale is best at, more importantly he shares this with his family and friends. I would like to see an honorary third place be given to Dale Earnhardt in the Daytona 500. Every year the third place finisher would receive his respective points but the name Dale Earnhardt would always be the name listed in 3rd finish. I think this is a very minimal token of respect for not only the man I look up to but the Greatest Driver in Nascar. I believe that the drivers would be the ones to reach this agreement. For everyone who knows Dale Earnhardt my prayers are with you. For Dale, you are and always will be #1. Thank You for the inspiration you share and the excitment you bring with you everytime I watch you race. I too was touched by your victory in 1998 at Daytona. God Bless.
March 01, 2001
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, in this time of sadness.
March 01, 2001
My deepest sympathies to the family of a great racer. And may God bless you Dale. Did anyone ever realize that number 3 is God's favorite number? Think about it.

Love, Sandy

Our thoughts and prayers are with you daily. May the Lord be with you in all you do.

If Dale had to die, he wanted it done on the racetrack. In addition to that, he probably would pick Daytona. It is closure to his life story, a little too early, but it is closure. Dale, we love you. Not having you each week in the starting line-up is unthinkable. Dale's true colors have shown now, after his death. A gentler, loving man we never knew...and not the man in black with a heart made of stone(what a perception). Dale, even after his death, is still truly well respected and a role model for all of us to live our lives. He lived his life the way we all should, by caring and giving to others. Rest peacefully, Dale.
You will live on in your children.
March 01, 2001
March 01, 2001
You are missed. Racing will not be the same without you. May God bless the family.

My father has taken me to car races since I was born, some 25 years ago. I grew up in a race car family and I enjoy the sport.
I thank GOD for giving us the time we had, as fans, with Dale. He is a legacy to the sport of racing and my family. My children will know his name and his kind, loving face. My prayers are with his family in their time of need. God, our father, has a purpose and a time for all his children. Dale is in a place of peace and joy ... where I pray all his family will be one day.

From a loyal fan, you will be missed dearly, and my deepest sympathy for your family and especially Dale Jr. may all his races be safe.
February 28, 2001
First of all I would like to thank "GOD" for bring Dale into all of our lives. I then would have to say to "The Entire Earnhardt family, You all are in our Prayers everyday". He was a good man and a heck of a driver. I feel for y'all. I also lost a loved one (my mom in December). I've followed his career for a LONG time. Like everyone else it's hard for me to watch the races now. I know the pain will decrease. Both for the family and for all his loyal fans. But I just want to give thanks to "GOD" for bring that #3 into all of our homes every sunday. "GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN"

I've always said,"My 2 favorite drivers are Dale Earnhartd and anybody ahead of Jeff Gordon." I guess I'll always say that.( No offense to Jeff.) Our hearts are heavy with sadness, and it will take time to get over this great tragedy. NASCAR has lost a legend! But our memories of Dale will last forever. The (Pass in the grass) with Bill Elliot, The Alan Kulwicki victory lap Dale did with Rusty to honor Davey & Alan after they died. The concentration on his face when he talks to Richard Childress about his car after practice, His walk down pit road before a race to get to his car, His friendship with all the other drivers up and down pit road. How about his game face sitting in his car before the call to start your engines. His long awaited victory at Daytona, and how long it took to get to victory lane because of all the pit crews lined up on pit road to HIGH FIVE Dale, what a great sight that was! We will miss the INTIMIDATOR! We will miss the black #3 car! We will miss you Dale! Our hearts and thoughts are with you Theresa and your whole family! Dale Jr., Go out every Sunday and make your dad proud. GOOD LUCK! THE WILKERSON FAMILY BILL, KITTY, CODY & LACEY

I am a great fan of racing, as is my 4 year old son. My mother on the other hand is not. I tried everything to get her interested in racing, but to no avail. That is until I made her watch Dale Earnhardt. She loved him. To her and to many he was the greatest race car driver ever. We will definately miss him. Our thoughts are of him and for those who loved him and miss him. We are praying for his family, friends, and fans.

To all the many family members & friends of Dale,
My hearts and prayers are with each and everyone of you. I know the pain that you are dealing with on Oct. 14th my nephew 13yr old Nicholas Marsh of Southaven,MS passed away suddenly at my home due to complications from a Brain-Stem Tumor.
My nephew loved Nascar at his funeral he wore his nascar Jeff Burton hat and had many flower arrangments done with Nascars on them.
The day Dale died my heart sunk to the floor,knowing what a legend we have all lost.
I seat now and think how excited Nick must be in heaven to be able to talk with Dale, that to me gives me piece of mind.
To Teressa and family my best advise it take everyday day by day and focus on the special times. The most important is grief in your own way at your own pace. Never let anyone rush you through your grief.
The pain never goes completely away but the days do get a little easier.

May God watch over you all and Bless each and everyone of you,
Mrs. Rachel Arent & Family

Our family like so many others that are Earnhardt fans are trying to find a smile through the tears. I walk by the sticker of #3 on our vehicle and I touch it tenderly. We have gathered up all our collectables with care and dusted them off. I am glued to every mention of Earnhard in the news. The one thing that sticks in my mind that his business partner said during the interview for the ESPN classics "Dale had him listen to Travis Tritt's song I want to be somebody and that was who he was". Well they accomplished that! Our prayers are with the family, the nascar community and with all the other fans that are grieving. We look forward to watching DEI continue in the giant footsteps left by Dale. God Bless Mitchell,Julia,Seth,Nathan

How many people have passed away doing what they loved to do ?? Lets just say that he is in a class by himself. He truly was without a doubt the greatest driver that nascar has ever had. I am so glad that I was a part of Nascar history and see the greatest driver do what he does best. February 26, 2001
My deepest sympathy to his family who have had a tremendous loss. To Dale Earnhardt Jr. I know that for all the world we have lost our hero but he was still your father and noone can express that pain. I lost my mother and there is no greater pain in the world than knowing they are bringing someone else joy and laughter....it is not being selfish. I know when you are racing around the track and can not see him in front of you that may be the hardest part of letting him go but I can see him now chasing everybody around in Heaven trying to get in the front. It is ok to hurt and it is ok to cry, just know that when you are racing on the track your dad is smiling proudly down on you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
February 26, 2001
You were a great person, and you did what you loved. We all miss you. Hope you are doing well. Cause if you were here now we know you would be doing well. We are a huge fan of you and we can not believe you are gone for good.....You will always be in our hearts.
February 26, 2001
I am so sorry for the loss of this great man who made such an impact on people everywhere. i didn't know him personally but felt like I did. He had as much impact in country music as he did in car racing. I am a big Brooks and Dunn fan and became a huge Earnhart fan because of them. he was known throughout the world just like Princess Diana was and his loss will hit everyone just as hard. I am so sorry and my prayers are with his family now and forever. Please be careful, Dale, Jr. thank you for your time.

February 25, 2001
I sit with my husband week after week watching the races with him. Nothing gave me more joy than watching the Big E going around the track. When he won the Daytona 500, I wished I was there to cheer him on, but I know he knew all his fans were cheering from where ever they were. Our family would like to send out our blessing to the whole Earnhardt family. But all is not lost, where ever you go, everywhere you turn there will be a fan or a friend to live on his name with the stories and smiles he brought to the people he touched. He is in a better place watching and looking out for his family all the time. I was looking forward to going to the Chicago Speedway to see him race this summer. I will be trying to get tickets for the race with the memories and joys of the race but a empty space in my heart. Dale will be racing every week in the hearts and minds of all the racing teames and drivers diong what he loved best. My prayers go out to his family. Thx for the memories Dale ( the greatest driver) I have ever seen.

We have it on our goal list to someday meet Dale and Dale Jr. We go to the Michigan race in June. Hopefully we will get our chance to meet Dale Jr. there but we'll have to wait till we go to Heaven to meet Dale Sr.

Simply put: Dale Earnhardt was the GREATEST nascar had ever seen.
February 25, 2001
I hear it but I don't believe it. I get chills all down my arms when they announce it. And you just want to ask, HOW? I'm sure the question his(your) family was asking was WHY? You were and will always be a great racecar driver. You will be sadly missed by millions. And although it won't be the same Dale Jr will caring on with your help by looking out for him. You will never be forgotten. My husband is one of your biggest fans. He never missed a race. He has all kinds of your cars and other things. Nascar has lost one of the all time greatest race car drivers ever. No one will ever be able to fill your shoes. But as I said before with your (DALE) help Dale Jr will come as close as any one could get. With Deepest Sympathy to the DALE EARNHARDT family. May God be with you and bless you.

Our sincere condolences go out to Dale's family. He was an awe insipring man off, as well as on the track. He embodied, with a natural grace and finese, the qualities most of us can only stive to attain. He made you realize that happiness isn't having what you want, but wanting what you have. I am truly grateful for the memories, and you know, I just can't help but picture him with that steely twinkle in his eye and that cockeyed grin of his, revving up that new pair of wings, looking at the angel next to him and saying " Bet I can take ya!" Godspeed Dale.

The first time I heard Dale Earnhardt's name, I was watching Daytona in 1997 with my boyfriend (now husband)Bill. He is an avid race fan, and huge Dale senior fan. He told me this wonderful story about how Dale had won every race at least once except Daytona. He told me a little more about Dale's racing career and I was sold on him. I was pulling for him to win that race...and he finally won his Daytona!! I cried tears of joy for this man I'd never seen! When he jumped out of the car, he was the spitting image of my own father, and the winner of the first race I'd ever seen. My heart goes out to his wife and children--I know how it feels to lose someone so close to you. My wishes for them are that they are healed a little with time, and that they keep in mind that they will see him again one day. Now he is a race fan like the rest of us, and we all, with the help of Dale senior will be pulling for Dale junior in future races.

February 24, 2001
Dale Earnhardt,"The Man In Black", "The Intimidator",no matter how you look at it he was a true legend.He was simply the best on the track.We are going to miss you Dale.Watching the race on Sunday will never be the same without that black #3 out there fighting to win.We watched you roll across that finish line at Talladega,of coarse in first place,in October 2000 the last race you won.I don't think we set down the whole time except when there was a caution.We got some really good pictures of you and "Little E" fighting for the win,it was exciting watching the two of you run together like that. I know everything happens for a reason and we all know you are in a better place now but losing a legend such as yourself is really hard to except. We will miss you and will be praying for you and your family.#3 maybe gone but will never be forgotten.
Rob,Tina,Jordan and Blake
We will still wear our Dale Earnhardt outfits every Sunday during the race in memory of our favorite Winston Cup Driver.

You were the best Dale and you will be missed, but your legacy will live on!!!!!
February 24, 2001
How ironic is it that I turn on the television for my grandson and the first channel he wants to stop to are the time trials for tomorrow's race, one week after your passing Dale. There are mentions of your name and how you will be missed, oh you will be missed in the hearts and minds of all who loved you. Your a respected legend in racing, and for those who didn't know you what a loss for them. I remember turning to QVC one night and seeing them selling car hoods of the race cars with the different names and logos on them. I thought to myself how silly that was in that I can't imagine having just a car hood. I really wish that I had one of your's just for my daughter's boyfriend who was such a huge fan of your's. It was through him that his son learned to love racing and learned how to say DALE EARNHARDT when he would see your car go around the track, his son is only three but has been watching racing from the time he could see tv. I'm so sorry that you're no longer with us physically, but the memories and the legend live on in our hearts and minds. You will be so sadly missed.

Known as the "Intimadator",
a threat where ever he raced.
He knew what he was doing,
and he gave it his very best.
Yet on the night of his favorite race, we lay this man to rest.
The Man in Black was always there,
doing what he loved.
He'd watched his friends lose thieir lives,yet he went on to win.
Neil was like a brother, a man he truly loved.
And when he friend had passed away,
Dale Earnhardts world stood still.
And now the world stands still for him, as we start this season new.
He was both loved and hated, if they had only known.....
The Man himself protected his cars to win the race.
He let them go and fight it out,
he knew one of them would win.
In the final turn of the final lap,
came a calling no one knew.......
Now his son must carry on
and race with heavy heart.
We'll never forget the glory
of the Legedary Dale Earnhardt.

HOW CAN WE BEGIN TO SPEAK OF SUCH A LOSS? MY FATHER AND I LOVED THIS MAN AS IF HE WERE PART OF THE FAMILY. WE TRAVELED EVERY YEAR TO TEXAS JUST TO SEE HIM RACE. HE HAS TOUCHED OUR LIVES IN A WAY THAT IS HARD TO EXPLAIN. ONLY A TRUE FAN KNOWS WHAT I AM SPEAKING OF. TO THE FAMILY I AM A PASTOR OF A BAPTIST CHURCH. OUR CHURCH IS PRAYING FOR YOU AT THIS TIME OF NEED. BY HIS TESTIMONY THE MAN IN BLACK IS IN HEAVEN. THANK GOD FOR THAT. THE EARNHARDT'S WILL ALWAYS HAVE A FAN IN ARKANSAS. WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN WE GET TO HEAVEN AND CAN FINALLY TELL THE INTIMIDATOR HOW MUCH JOY HE HAS BROUGHT TO OUR LIVES. REMEMBER ROMANS 8:28 ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER TO THE GOOD OF THEM THAT LOVE THE LORD AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURP0SE. BIG E'S PURPOSE WAS FILLED. LET HIM BE A ROLE MODEL TO US ALL. We will deeply miss seeing The Intimidator race. He was truly one of a kind. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends and all of the fans. Dale is in a greater place now and he will always be the champion.
February 23, 2001
My deepest sympathies go out to the Earnhardt family in this very trying time. NASCAR won't be the same without The Intimidator tearing up the track. He will be greatly missed by many. "The Lord Bless You and Keep You."
People come & go, Legends live forever....#3
February 23, 2001
Dale, You will always be in our hearts. God Bless you and your Family.
February 23, 2001
Dear Teresa and Family
Please accept my sincere sympathy at this time. I could go on and on about what a great driver Dale was. Having followed him for years, I have plenty of memories. Somehow though, my lasting image of Dale will be of him as the husband and father he was. Seeing the pictures of Dale, Teresa and Dale Jr. with a quick hug and laugh before the race, and that loving kiss that he and Teresa shared before he got in his car. That is the man he was and I am so sorry for your loss. God Speed.

You were the best racecar driver ever. I've been a fan of yours ever since I started watching NASCAR. You were the king. It is going to be hard watching racing now. No one will ever replace you. No one will ever be able to drive a race car like you did. You will be missed very much. I hope you are with GOD. I hope that Theresa, Kelly, Kerry, and Dale Jr. gets through this okay. I know it going to be harder on them than anybody else. God bless you and the Earnhardt family. Good luck to you Dale Jr.. Make all of your dad's fans proud of you, because were your fans now.

Hello to the Earnhardt family~
Although you do not know me, I feel as though I know you. I've grown up around racing and Dale was of course, my favorite driver. It hurt my family and me when I found out about it. I wil never find another driver that I liked as much as him. I will miss him greatly. R.I.P we love you. Lisa

To the family-I am deeply sorry for your loss. God Bless
February 23, 2001
I have grown to love Dale Earnhardt because my husband was probably one of his very biggest fans. He watched Dale race every day. How? He has tapes of all his races and he watches racing every single day. He was absolutely crazy about him. He is just devasted at his death. He was everything my husband wanted to be. He so admired Dale. We have Dale collectibles in every room of our house. He has almost every die cast car he ever drove. I feel sympathy for the entire Earnhardt family. I am a Rusty Wallace fan, myself, but very much plan on following the Earnhardt drivers in their careers. God Bless all who mourn this great man. Have peace in knowing he is in a better place than us and that he awaits all of us to join him someday!

February 23, 2001
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Earnhardt family. #3 will be sadly missed.
February 23, 2001
I never had the opportunity to meet Dale, however, I feel that I knew him well. Our family is very involved with Nascar racing. My husband races a stock car locally on the dirt track. My husband summed it up best when he said "On February 18th, racing as we knew it died." Thanks for the memories, Dale. You were the best! Everything happens for a reason and we'll know the answer someday! Take care of business up there. Your legacy lives on!! God Bless your family and friends.
February 23, 2001
To an icon in the industry.. You will truly be missed..May God be with you always.
February 23, 2001
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones. Nascar will not be the same. He left this place doing what he loved. We all will miss him. He was a wonderfull person and ALWAYS made time for his youngest fans.Peace be with you.

SORRY to hear of a great loss to the EARNDHART FAMILY and the NASCAR world you will be missed by MILLIONS of race fans across the world GOD BLESS the EARNDHART FAMILY
February 23, 2001
How many of us always have that dream inside us to just go do whatever it is that we love? To make us the best we can be BECAUSE that is what we love. Too many of us go thru life doing what we "think" we have to do and ignoring what we really "love". If more of us did what you did, followed our dreams "whatever" that might be, I believe we would all be better for it. When it did come our time to go,
how better would it be for our families or friends to know, hey they didn't waste their time here, they did what they did best and enjoyed every minute of it. God bless you Dale. We need to learn from you. Thanks for all your hard work!
February 23, 2001
WE WANT TO EXPRESS OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE EARNHARDT FAMILY.

I had never been a big fan of NASCAR (prefering the CART racing), but had seen many stories, interviews and programs (and on QVC racing shows) about Dale Earnhardt. I must say I was a fan of his. He seemed like a very genuine, honest, hard-working person. He seemed like he had a great sense of humor and outlook on life and a great love for his family. Please know that your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Sincerely,
Janice, Carlo, Christopher and Elizabeth Caccavone

Dear Earnhardt Family:

What consulation can I possibly give? My husband and I buried our Best Man at age 38 on November 7, 2000. Richard Alan Savage (www.legacy.com) of Wadsworth, Ohio had few hobbies. He lived and breathed for NASCAR. I just know Dale and he are up there tearing up the track! Dale also died on my daughter's birthday. Her Uncle Alan loved her so. I look forward to joining their winning team in the future. Peace Be With You,
Denise Knight, Akron, OH

To The Earnhardt Family:
Just wanted you to know that we are praying for your family.
February 23, 2001
I've been a fan of Nascar for many years, but Nascar has never lost a driver like Dale. He will be sadly missed
February 23, 2001
First I'd like to offer my deepest sympathy to Teresa, Dale Jr. and the other children. Once we've served our purpose in life, God takes us home. God only takes the best, and now he's earned his wings. It's not the end, it's the beginning of a new life. I know that the family and friends will miss him but know that he is still with you. I'm sure he is looking down and wishing he could tell you how beautiful it is in heaven.

Second, I have a 13 year old son with cerebral palsy, he can't walk or talk and is dependent on me for everyday tasks. One this is for sure,he loves T.V. and NASCAR. He was watching the Daytona 500 when he lost his biggest idol. He cried uncontrolable for hours and when I finally was able to calm him he continued to be depressed for days. We can't even mention Dale Earnhardt around him without him crying.

I wish I could have taken him to a race, but unfortunately was never able to. He greatest wish never came true. However now this has happened tell Dale Jr., we may appear at one of his races.

Dale Jr., know that you have an angel with you everytime you race.

God Bless you all.
February 23, 2001
You will truly be missed, but never forgotten. Our prayers go out for you and your family.
February 23, 2001
Never will the race world be the same. Mr. Earnhardt's legend and love for the sport will live on forever.
Our deepest symathy to you and yours
February 23, 2001
For all of us in the living need to understand the importance that life is short, and like Dale enjoyed life to the fullest. We all know thats the way he would want to end his life at the race track. So long Dale. R.I.P
February 23, 2001
YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.
February 23, 2001
To Dales' Family
When I was young my uncle would make me sit and watch nascar. I never thought much of it a first, but it grew on me. I was told to watch how the car was handled, and repspect those who handled and cared for the car, and above all else respect for the game. Dale was sort of an idle in my family, and when I heard about his passing I called home from Italy to see how my uncle was taking it, My Aunt told me that he was deeply upset and had vowed to never watch nascar again. My deepest sympathy to the family of Dale Earnhardt,
I thank him for the great times I had watching him in all of the races with my uncle.
Respect the race, repsect the car, repect the drivers,
I have nothing but the deepest respect and admiration for Dale Earnhardt.
I hope where he is now he has a car that never runs out of gas or loses the poll.
Sincerly

Dear Family:

I didn't follow the racing circuit that much, but I have been seeing everything on the news and see what a fine person Dale was. Even though he was very famous, it seems as though he really took time for his family, friends, community and fans. May God be with your family at this time and y'all are in thoughts and prayers of many people around the world. Remember Dale is in Heaven now, riding the streets of gold. God Bless.

Tammy
February 23, 2001
Dale,
I was never one of your faithful following. I am a Ford fan. But I always needed to know where you where in each race. You were always in the game. If I missed a race I'd ask my husband about the top five Ford drivers and then where you finished. You added excitement and a down home honesty to the sport you loved so much.
Life is funny...
You never appreciate what you have until you lose it. You were a part of everyone of my race days. I will miss you. But as you asid in your interview with DW,"I have everything man!" You dis here on earth and now you are racing the "streetof gold" with your Daddy, Fireball, Neil, Davey, Adam,
Allen and many more. You have now achieved everything. You are home with the Lord. And as much as we will miss you since you've now seen His face, I'm sure that you want to say right where you are.
Enjoying the "Ultimate Championship"
eternal life.
I never knew that I loved you until you were gone.
God's speed Mr. Earnhart.
I will pray for those of us left behind. I will be looking forward to watching you again on the ovals in Heaven.

Love,
Lisa

I have always known that Dale was a great driver. The best, in my opinion. This past week, however, I have gotten to know a great deal about who was to his friends and his family. I can see what a wonderful man he was. A terrific daddy, a loving and appreciative husband. I am deeply saddened by his passing; but I also find great joy in knowing that, while he was here,he brought happiness and goodness to everyone around him. Teresa and the kids are very lucky to have shared in the life of someone so caring and generous. I pray that, over time, the sadness will fade a little and the wonderful memories that you all have will bring smiles to your faces, instead of tears. A great deal of America feels as if they've lost a hero, an idol. I can only imagine the kind of hurt that comes with losing a father and a husband. I know that NASCAR will never be the same for me, but I'll keep watching and hoping that Dale Jr. has as successful a career as his father did. God Bless You All.
February 23, 2001
I knew him not, I loved him still.
February 23, 2001
My sympathies to the Earnhardt family, his friends, RCR racing and DEI. I'm grateful that I had the chance to see him race in my lifetime. Always a champion.
February 23, 2001
Dale was my favorite driver in the NASCAR ciriuit and he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Earnhardt family and to all who knew him. A great man and legacy was lost. Take care and may GOD BLESS us all

He was a great competitor and always created excitement at the Races.
February 23, 2001
To the Earnhardt Family from
Heaven,
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
All's so happy, all's so bright!
There's perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief are over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the Valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illumined
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idle stand;
Do your work while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you home;
Oh, the rapture of the meeting!
Oh, the joy to see you come!
February 23, 2001
I can't imagine racing without you. You were my idol.Racing will never be the same.My thoughts and prayers are with your family and all Nascar family and racing teams.You were the greatest.

What can anyone say that would ease the pain felt by the family, friends , and even the fans. There is nothing!!!! All I know is that the ONLY reason I watched NASCAR is gone, but the memories will last forever. May God bless the Earnhardt family.
February 23, 2001
DALE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US IN OUR

February 23, 2001
NASCAR will never be the same. I never knew the death of someone I never even met could effect me the way Dale's death has. I feel like I have lost a member of my family. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out to the Earnhardt family, associates of Childress racing, DEI, Inc. associates, the drivers, and also the NASCAR community. In the coming days, may we find peace and strength through supporting each other through this tragedy. Dale you will always live in the hearts of millions. I will miss you.

February 23, 2001
He was truly a hero. He'll be sadly missed. HE WAS ONE OF A KIND.....
February 23, 2001
Racing will never be the same--your determination as a man and skill as a driver will never be equalled. The races will go on, but we will always see an empty spot where #3 should be. You have made it to the final finish line in life and you did it while doing the one thing you did so well. You were a champion to the end and will always be so in our eyes.
February 23, 2001
To the family, relatives, friends, & fans of Dale's;
Dale will be missed but he'd want us to carry on. He left us with numerous memories and they will always be cherished. He was a proven winner in life as he is now in death. The pain is still so fresh in our hearts but in due time we will all be healed. We all will eventually join Dale up in the heavens but as for now we shall carry on.
February 23, 2001
You were my Hero. You will never be forgotten or replaced. Thank you for the memories and thrills.
February 23, 2001
You will be missed by many...Racing will never be the same!

~~~~Dale Earnhardt Sr.~~~~~
A man that stood so tall,
A man that had it all,
A friend unlike no other,
A man just like a brother,
A long road of fears,
A longer road of tears,
God blessed him in many ways,
Now the light shall show him the way,
His days on earth, he knew of defeat,
Now he is at the thrown, beneath God's feet.
His memory is strong,
Our hearts shall go on,
Some loved him,
Some hated him,
Some didn't even know him,
But "ALL" will never forget him,
For he was a champion,
A friend,
A husband,
A father,
A true hero,
May God bless the family and friends of Dale Earnhardt, and Dale Jr. "Run like the wind and never give in." for that is what your father did and would want you to do. Be your best and hold your memories close to you will you take that road and make it your own. We love you all and wish you the best.
This is for Dale Jr. When you get into your car just remember that you have a guardian angel riding with you. Your father was the best and will be missed by many around the world. You had the BEST teacher there could ever be. Now climb in that #3 and continue what your father did best. Between you and Kerry his legend will live on.My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family and the pit crew. But on Sunday, although your heart will be heavy, climb in that #8 and know that millions and millions of fans are rooting for you, and DAD is waiting in the winners circle for you. Every time you catch a small wind remeber thats just DALE SR giving you a little shove. God Bless. Finally DALE SR IS RACING WITH NEIL ON GODS TRACK. DALE SR IS GONE BUT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
February 23, 2001
I am a 54 year old Nascar Junky. I grew up watching Petty (my hero) and the Allison's, Fireball Roberts, etc. I remember when Dale first came on the scene.In the early years I cussed him alot. In the later years I cheered for him alot. I always admired and respected him whether I was cussing or cheering.
Last August my Son in law(and fishing buddy) was crushed to death by a forklift were he worked. My daughter is a widow at 25 and my 4 year old grandson doesn't have a Daddy. That was devastating to me.Dale's death was almost like someone in the family had left us although it wasn't the same as my son in law which I am sure you can understand.
I would like to see the cars go around Rockingham with the pole position empty to honor our fallen hero for seven laps(for 7 championships) before they do the pace lap. I think this would be an appropriate thing to do for someone so loved and admired by his fans.I watched the man race for over 20 years and he was one of those who made Nascar what it is. He was not an also ran. He was a leader and a torch bearer.
I want to offer my heartfelt prayers to his wife and children. They must go on and do the best they can in life. Dale would accept nothing less and you dont want to make the Intimidator mad.
We will miss you Dale.
God just might be building the fastest #3 that you have ever drove.You are probably making him a race car fan. He probably has a fast car too. I know you wont give him an inch and if he bumps you and spins you out you will walk up and hug his neck and tell him you will race him again. If you can, let us know what it's like to drive on a track made of gold.
Bob H.
I TRUELY FEEL TERRIBLE FOR THE EARNHARDT FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FANS OF DALE AND I KNOW HE WILL BE TRUELY MISSED BUT... I CAN'T BELIEVE THESE SO CALLED FANS CAN BE SO CRUEL AS TO SEND THREATS TO STERLING MARLIN AND HIS FAMILY. EVERYONE WANTS TO BLAME SOMEONE FOR THIS AWFUL ACCIDENT BUT I BELIEVE THAT DALE LEFT US ALL DOING WHAT HE LOVED. RACING AND COMPETEING. THERE WAS NO INTENT FROM STERLING. MY FAMILY IS ONE OF MANY THAT WILL HONESTLY MISS DALE ON THE TRACK EVERY WEEK BUT, YOU SEE, HE WILL BE THERE IN SPIRIT WITH ALL OF US. THANK GOD THAT WE ENJOYED HIM AND HIS RACING ALL THESE YEARS. HE WAS THE GREAT #3 AND I BELIEVE SOMEDAY WE WILL SEE DALE JR. IN THAT SAME CAR.
February 22, 2001
I've heard so much about the "Intimidator" over the last few days, and I discovered that his accomplishments off the racetrack; If imaginable, Far exceeded his talent on Saturday and Sunday. My prayers go out to his family, because they have lost far more than a # on Sunday. I pray you will find as much peace without him as you once found with him.
February 22, 2001
Dale Earnhardt will be missed by millions of fans, he was the King of all race car drivers. He died doing what he loved best. Now he's up in heaven watching his son continuing his legacy. We will keep Dale & his family in our thoughts & prayers.
What can be said when the best is gone? You cant be replaced or forgotten.
Today the world learned how to cry for a man they`ve never met.I`ve never been one to use the word heroe, but there has never been a man more deserving of the word for a true race fan. We all mourne the loss we felt, but thank God he left the racing community(those who really know the passion)with the strength and the memories to carry on. As a Ford fan, I never could like the name, but as a human being and a race fan, I was forced to respect the ability. As a father, I pray for the compassion you taught, and the ability to appreciate what is here today. If there is one final lesson we`ve learned, charrish what`s ours, because it could be gone tommarrow. I thank you for sharing so much of your life with us, even if some of us didn`t realize it until you we`re taken. I may not have called you my driver, but by seeing your story the past couple of days and the integrity you displayed, I`m proud to say I`ve finally found a HEROE!!!!!!!! To the Earnhart family my deepest sorrows and prayers go out to you. May God bless each and every one who has felt this tragic loss to the sport we love so much. "May God Speed Mr. Earnhart." From this day forth "THE INTIMIDATOR" will live forever in my heart.....
February 22, 2001
Our hearts ache with the news of this tragedy. Dale was the reason we watched racing. I have been close to him at the races before but never asked for his autograph because I know how busy he was. He was admired and respected. Our whole family were fans (both sets of in-laws and even the 2 year old nephew!) Deepest Sympathy.
February 22, 2001
What can we say Dale.. You added great excitement to a Sunday afternoon. we cheered for you and we also cursed, but the one thing that stands out was the love you showed for the sport and bringing NASCAR to what it is today. we'll miss you Dale,hope your still kicking butt at the big racetrack in the sky.... I have followed Dale since his early Wrangler days. I have had the pleasure of meeting him several times and cherish each moment. He is the last of the 'good old boys' and racing will never be the same without his presence on and off the track. May you win all the races on your tracks of gold in heaven.
February 22, 2001
You will be missed.
February 22, 2001
Dale was a great driver, and he will be sadly missed by everyone, on and off the race track. My heart goes out to him family. May god be with you all :)
I read a poem once and the title was "How will you spend your dash" and what it meant was the dash between the years you were born and died. During Dales' "dash" he touched so many people. Dale Earnhardt a man of integrity honor and loyalty. A man that will be greatly missed.
February 22, 2001
Our Prayers go out to the family of Dale. We will miss you. We suggest that the No. 3 would be retired in memory of Dale.
Life is full of surprises! As i watched the Daytona 500 this year, and witnessed Dale's accident, it looked like an academic mishap. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I've watched him race for many years, and he truly showed me what a class act he was on and off the track. Funny how a person whom i've never met, could make me feel such saddness since the race! God bless you Dale, thanks for the memories. My condolences to your entire family and personal friends.
February 22, 2001
When I was growing up my Dad would always watch racing on Sundays, and he still does to this day Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver, the only thing is I couldn't figure out why he would watch guys drive around in circles.I remember alot of times I would go to my room and listen to music. In July of 1997 my husband had 1 ticket to the race in Loudon NH,I didnt have a ticket,but I went along with him and another couple and spent the weekend there camping. I sat at the camper during the race, it was like a ghost town while everyone was gone, needless to say, I went back in August for the second race, I watched the whole race and i have been hooked on racing ever since, the best part is,is that my husband and I are Jeff Gordon fans, and the rest of our family is Dale Earnhardt fans, the thing I liked the best of this all, is that we always had something to talk about. This is a big loss to the Nascar family with Dale not here to race the Black car with the #3 on it. Sundays wont be the same now when we watch the race as there wont be rivalry
between the family members. Our prayers are with the Earnhardt family. Dale Jr. we all will be routing for you now. Make your Dad proud.
February 22, 2001
You are in our thoughts and prayers. You were one of the greatest drivers ever and I will miss seeing you on Sundays.
February 22, 2001
To the Earnhardt Family, You may never get the chance to read this, but I hope you do, I want everyone to know, what kind a man Dale Earnhardt was. 2 1/2 years ago, a friend gave me tickets to the Atlanta race, they knew Dale and said that if I go to the race, that he would introduce me to Dale. Within a few minutes of receiving the tickets, I got a call, telling me that my mom was just killed in an auto accident. I was devastated and did not get to go to the race. A couple of weeks later, I received a letter from Dale, telling me to keep my head up and that I'm a winner. This letter touched my heart and changed my life. Because Dale took the time to write to someone he had never met, surely show everyone, what kind of man is really is. After I received that letter; I quit my job, packed our house and moved from Florida to Mooresville, NC. Thanks to Dale and his family for touching my life. Dale will be a friend forever. My Deepest Sympathy to the whole Earnhardt Family. I will always remember you, Dale.
I have two lasting impressions of Dale ....One is finally winning the Daytona 500 in 1998, the other is from sundays devestating crash, where Sr. was unselfishly blocking for his teamates Jr. and Waltrip. Both made me cry like a baby.
Race on #3, God bless
We received this from friends.
In Memory of Dale:
One Quarter Mile From Heaven
Like a guardian angel from four cars back,
Watching Michael & Dale Jr. as they circled the track.
No intention of winning, just holding his place,
So proud of his "boys" now winning the race.
We thought it was over, the end was so near.
No time for pain; no time for fear.
We did not know, as there was no sign,
Dale was only one-quarter mile from his final finish line.
Within an instant, NASCAR fans would be facing,
An eternal change in their world of racing.
He was one of the greatest, beloved in his sport,
With a grand career now sadly cut short.
All the crowd noticed was excitement and debris,
But a miracle was happening we could not see.
Dale said goodbye through shining metal and chrome,
As God gave "NUMBER 3" the checkered flag "home".
But forever in our hearts, and in the scheme of things,
We'll picture him circling heaven with the black and red wings.
Grinning; telling angels..and even the Creator,
"Look out over there...here comes the "INTIMIDATOR".
My heart and prayers go out to Dale's family. I have been watching racing since 1994 and there was only one driver I watched, Dale. There will never be another driver like Dale and NASCAR will never be the same without him. I lost my uncle over a year ago who was a huge Earnhardt fan and I know that Dale and him are together right now. NASCAR has the best angel looking over them now and the Man in Black, Intimidator, #3 will always be remembered. The legend will live forever. RIP Dale we will miss you intensely.
