just thinking of how this one man touched so many lives wherever he went. He was a friend to whomever shook his big hand. Greatly missed by family and friends. Words cannot describe how his entire life was a gentle giant walking thru lifes obstacles and never once complaining about any of them. We could all use a small piece of what earls perspective was in life. humble, gracious, and all with an upstanding character that will go unmatched.
miss ya big guy
Earl Morral is in Heaven's Hall of Fame
May you find comfort in remembering your beloved father this Father's Day, and every day.
Earl Morrall was a great man on and off the field.
I had the honor of driving Mr.Morrall in the Seaway Festival Parade in his hometown of Muskegon, Michigan, back in about 1975. He was Grand Marshal, and I remember thinking what a giant of a man he was physically. Now I know he was a giant of a man in more important ways. I will always cherish that memory. Blessings and prayers to his family, Tom Case
Shortly after Earl retired, I used him in a TV commercial and had him as a speaker at our annual sales meeting. I found him to be easy to work with and a very pleasant person. He continually reminded my that when he played at Michigan State, they beat my alma mater, Ohio State. I send my sympathy and best wishes to his wife and family.
Growing up in Miami in the early 70's Mr. Morrall was a hero to us kids, may perpetual light shine upon him.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have many happy memories of you and Earl.
Jane - Laurie and I just wanted to say how much we loved and thought so much of Earl (and you and the entire family). We will cherish all of our great memories of him and our fun QB events all over the globe. We love you and God loves you more!
Dear Jane and family, we are so sorry to hear the sad news about Earl. He was a very special man. We were your neighbors in Farmington, Michigan and our kids played together. So many good memories. Have saved all the Christmas cards and news. We also attended MSC before it became a university, so lots of fond memories and will always cherish them. God bless all of you and am sure my Harold is there to greet Earl in Heaven. Love, Laura Beaubien and family.
I wish to express my sincere sympathy in the loss of your love one Almighty God will comfort you in all your trials 2 Cor 1:2&3.9
God's word says "And no resident will say: ‘ I am sick.'” Isaiah 33: 24. Death itself will be a thing of the past & there is hope to see your loved one again.
May the God of comfort extend peace to the family.(2Cor.1:2-4)

A fine gentleman will be sorely missed.
Best wishes to the Morrall family and friends. Us fans remember Earl and say "Thank You".
My hero-Earl Morrall,All American Qb for the Mich State Spartans,Rose bowl winner x two,and third baseman on MSU mens baseball team that went to the college world Series. An all state FB & BB star for Muskegon,MIch HS as well. He went on to a 21 year career in the NFL,played in two Super Bowl championships, and led the Colts to a 16-13 victory over "Americas Team"-the Dallas Cowboys. NFL player of the year 1968 throwing for 2,909 yds and 26 TD's for the Baltimore Colts enroute to a 13-1 season. In 1972, led the Miami Dolphins to the only unbeaten team in NFL history - I knew him personally for a brief time when we were both hospitalized at the same time in the MSU infirmary. An amazing athlete and human being- also not a bad chess player. RIP, good buddy !
Please except my deep condolences. Death of a love one is the hardest thing we can go through, because we are never prepared for it so I hope you find some comfort in knowing sickness, pain and death will one day be no more for this has been promised to us.

My home town of Muskegon has lost their greatest ambassador, sports or otherwise with the passing of this great man. Thanks for all those great memories.
May God be with the family and friends during this time of grief and sorrow.
I was always intrigued by the fact that there was an outstanding American sportsman who shared my surname, which is not terribly common.
In consequence, I became interested in Earl, who, from what I understand, was not only an outstanding football player, but also a very fine person.
I am a New Zealander - born and bred and first became aware of him thanks to an article featured in Time magazine in the early 1970's.
His passing has come as quite a shock to me and even though I never met him, I almost feel as though he was family to me.
I wish to extend my kindest thoughts to his family during this sad time.
Bless you all,
I remember Earl fondly. He played high school football in Muskegon mi. With my brother Don Rademaker. Earl came to our home often . What a great guy. You have my deepest sympathy .

1 Cor. 15:22 For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.
In the late 50's/early 60's MSU staged an 'old timers' football game every spring with the varsity playing against a squad of former players. In 1961, when I was 8 years old, somehow my parents arranged for me to be the mascot for the old timers team. Earl was in charge and called me 'Tiger'. I thought that he was the greatest. We met up again when Darryl Rogers renewed the old timers game with the MSU varsity in 1977, and Earl once again led a team of former players. A tremendous guy, on & off the field. God Bless
Rest in peace. One of a kind. Sympathies to the family.
Our family will always remember how kind earl was to our family. He was someone we will always remember. My husband did several of the Lions taxes until your family moved.
A great man and a great friend. I enjoyed the times we played golf together at Arrowhead in the CanAm. I will always remember when he threw me a pass with the ball he had just signed. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences from a gal who went to just about every home game when Earl stepped in to help the team. This perfect year was the time when I got heavily interested in football, and still am. He was gracious and oh so good on the field. Take care, Elizabeth R. Carmichael Ca.

Honor to meet and know you.
Great QB rest in peace you are one of the great ones! Dolphins hero....
God please bless the Morrall family for the loss they have had.
From an old Spartan, who hung out a bit with Earl's brother,Clare...also a Spartan. Memory is fading me now, but through Clare I believe I met Earl a few times. Anyway, I sure do remember so many exciting football games that he played in at MSU, and in the NFL. I can only agree with all the others who commented about his character, and athletic skills. A great person who will be missed. My condolences go out to the Morrall family.

I knew Earl thru business in Detroit and as he was in football, in business he was always a gentleman. I'll never forget the times we spent together at one of the plants he represented and going to JoAnns restaurant after the long day and evening and having a cocktail. One my fondest memories was walking into the restaurant one evening and hearing someone say "there's Earl Morral I wonder who that guy is with him. My condolences to his family on the loss of a great humanbeing.
My youngest daughter used to play with his daughter in their beautiful round home in Ft. Lauderdale. Both he and his daughter were very delightful and our memories of them will be pleasant. We are sorry for her loss.
I hope somewhere there is a superbowl in heaven because they have a great QB to run the team. remember all the great games over the years as a kid, rest in peace Earl
Earl Morrall was a man who did not need to be defined nor did he need to be validated. He loved the game of football, and he played it well for a season. Even more so, he loved his family and his community and he devoted himself to both for a lifetime. Surely the Morrall family can find comfort in knowing that a fine record of him has been stored indelibly in God's memory and that he is precious in God's eyes. With a broken heart over your untimely loss, my family and I offer our deepest sympathy!
SO SORRY FOR THE DEATH OF YOUR LOVED ONE.MAY YOUR MEMORIES BRING YOU COMFORT,AND GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT BE YOUR PEACE.(PSLM.32:7)......DQB
I watched earl morrall play on tv in the 1970's in south Carolina. he was an outstanding quarterback that won games.

Condolences to the Family of Mr. Earl Morrall-
We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mr. Morrall. We hope that the thoughts and spiritual texts of comfort in this guest book console you and that you know you are not forgotten. Although with extreme sadness for your loss we visitors are induced to remember life's brevity and of the thing of most importance is the way we live our lives now. As we recall Mr. Morrall's legacy of kindness, generosity, and selflessness, in the public eye and in his private life, we know the good name he made. And a good name with God by doing good works is the thing of real value.
Please draw comfort from the wonderful memories and laughter of your lives together and that he is in God's memory too!
My thoughts and sympathy are with his family. He was a great player and was a great complement to the team. I'm glad he could accomplish a lot in life. Good players are trained for, but Awesome players are born that way - and he had it in him. Please accept my sympathy in your loss. Philippians 1:2- May you have undeserved kindness and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
thank you for sharing you special gift
Our sympathy goes out to Earl's friends and family during this time of sorrow.
We are all in the same train in life, but those who are in the sleeper car are awaiting to be resurrected to a paradise earth. When Earl wakes up to that paradise earth, he will be able to play football once again with his buddies once again.
RIP Mr. Morrall, from a B'more Colts/Ravens fan. How good was he running the Colts in 68-71? So good that as a boy my Quarterback game featured him, not John Unitas, as the Colts QB.
To The Morrall Family,
I remember those Dolphin years with pride. And one of my prize memories is when I had the honor of Earl playing in my forsesome in my Pete & Danny's (Restaurant) Open in Fort Myers in 1981. He was a delightful person and a real soft-spoken gentleman. We came in second place that year but he will always be number one with me. God bless his soul and may you and his many friends be comforted by your memories.
I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please find peace and comfort in Psalms 65;2.

Mel and I join the many friends and admirers of Earl Morrall in expressing our sympathy to his amazing family on this loss. My relationship was formed during a time that we both held political office and his leadership in the Town of Davie offered that community a chance to grow and prosper. To so many he will be missed--for so many reasons.
Nicki and Mel Grossman
I have long been a fan and an admirer. RIP
My condolences to all. Keep encouraging one another and building one another up, just as you are in fact doing.
I always thought Earl should have started in the Super Bowl because he had led the team through the previous undefeated 9 games. He is rarely honored for his part in the undefeated season. R.I.P. Earl.
May God continue to comfort all who loved Earl Morrall. We can all look forward to the time when death will be no more and instead of tears of sorrow there will be tears of happiness. I know he will be missed by many.
I'm sorry for your loss may god help your family in times of distress. Ecclesiastes 5:8, 9
Soon death will be no more
Great QB for Baltimore Colts when Johnny Unitas had to have rest day from playing. He will be miss from NFL.
My condolences to the family, Mrs. Morrall, Matt and his sister.
I was just a child when Earl was in NY with the Giants and lived in Stamford. I went to grade school and church just down the road with Matt. I didn't know that Earl was a football player, he was just Mr. Morrall, Matt's Dad. I enjoyed watching TV at their home, playing ball in the yard and my friendship, however brief with Matt. I have never forgot your parents hospitality or the fun we had.
It's hard to believe that almost 50 years have passed since then. Losing a father is extremely difficult. I recently lost my parents and another of our classmates, Tommy R lost his.
Your Dad lived a wonderful life and long after his playing days he continued to give back to the community, what a great father and role model! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
It's a different story but it started with a football. My father was also a Michgan State grad and I grew up hearing the name of Earl Morrall and Biggy Munn. I was born prematurely and required long hospital care so the story goes that my parents (for me) got the game ball from one of MSU games. Earl Morrall was the QB.
Years later, as a young adult, I had the opportunity to meet Earl when he and my dad had dinner one night. (Great dinner meeting)
To the Morrall Family - you were blessed with a wonderful husband and father and he will be missed.
Prayers to all - he was truly one of the good ones!
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS EARL MORRALL!!!
One of the most selfless players to ever don the uniform
Just a really nice man. I pray for his family
My Dad always believed Earl had earned the right to start in the '72 playoffs. On behalf of James Sr. who will no doubt be there to meet him in Heaven; thanks for the memories of an amazing season we shared.
Earl was a great athlete. Even more important, he was a GREAT PERSON. Always a gentleman, on or off the field. I went to high school and MSU with him. So many accolades; so many accomplishments. The World is a lesser place without him. Jim McWhorter. Class of "53", Muskegon, MI.
RIP to a fantastic man. God will welcome you with open arms.
Earl Morrall was a true Champion, and well liked person on and off the field. He stepped up when he needed to in the 1972 Perfect Season. You will be sadly missed. :(

As a former Baltimorean, I remember Earl as a good Colt when we won the Super Bowl.
I met him in ft Lauderdale several times. He was a good guy who loved his family. He will be missed
A humble man who came through when the heat was on. It was a pleasure to have watched him. We pray for Earl and his family.
As a proud Spartan graduate, Earl Morrall holds a very special place in MSU history. He was a stellar college performer and continued at the same level as a pro. A treasure revered by Sparty's supporters. RIP
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
Earl was a real gentleman -a great guy. Our prayers and good thoughts go out to Jane and children
Rest in Peace Earl... I'll never forget you and that incredible 72 season. One 12 year old kid became a football fan that year!
Another great of sports history has left us. I will always remember his accomplisments in the NFL until I join him in the next life. My wishes that your mourning be focused on his accomplishments. God Bless you Earl

It was with great sadness that we learned today of Earl's passing. Please accept the deepest condolences of the entire Murphy family and God Bless you all in the days and weeks ahead. We will always remember the kindness of Jane and Earl and the Morall kids. How could we ever forget those wonderful early days at Coquina in our youth or tossing the football at Lowdermilk Park with the great QB himself?
My Dad and I had the honor of meeting Earl we were his home in Davie to repair a clock for him.
Earl Morrall was not a backup quarterback, but a standup guy
A great man and a great friend. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

For all of us "Old School" fans, you will always be a Dolphin legend. Thanks for the memories.

The Late Earl Morrall is the Greatest Quarterback next to Dan marino in NFL
What a great reliever. No 17 - 0 season without Earl.
RIP to one of the greatest QB's in history! You'll be truly missed...
As a 12 year old kid I saw every game that season. Earl was one of the greats. When he took over for Griese he never missed a beat and would have surely taken them all the way in 72. RIP sir!
