At the time of Erics death i was undergoing treatment for cancer. I was devastated to hear that he had left us. His works and musical vision will continue to enrich our lives..
March 05, 2011
I'm 40 years old and his songs especially, "Don't Answer me" and "Time" touched my soul, I am mad and sad he is gone, I cant believe it, those 2 songs are 2 of the best songs ever made in my opinion.
March 09, 2010
For Eric...

Now the angles sing
to your music.

This is for you...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Your music touched my soul...when it seemed like everything was going wrong I could retreat into a place where your music made me feel better. It seemed like your songs fit neatly into the ups and downs of my life...the good and the bad. You gave us the gift of your music and your insight into all our emotions and frailties. I never got to meet you but you were always there in my life and for that I thank you.......Be at Peace

One of the most brilliant teams of musicians ever. Gone but never forgotten. Perhaps a foolish and young girl thing to do, but 20 years ago, gave my son the middle name of Alan because I felt their music so deeply and profoundly.

December 05, 2009
Awesome music. So sad to hear the news of Eric's passing. It's fond memories of the days when we popped in the Alan Parson's Project in the 8 track in my boyfriends purple Gremlin and headed for the park on a sunny Saturday afternoon. So many that created a genre of music have gone from us for now.
December 05, 2009
I really liked their songs. I rememberber playing them while working as a DJ at Glens Falls NY radio station WENU 101.7.

Dear Eric Woolfson Sir,
My brother gave me your album Allan Parsons Project in 1977, and I've loved you ever since. I live to hear your music. I wish as fans we could tell you before you die what your music meant to us. Your music has obviously inspired many musicians, as I hear your work all the time. Thank you , thank you, thank you!!!Sincerely, just a fan that loves ya, Melanie
December 05, 2009
I knew him when we were both caught up in starting the SDP - a UK political party with thoroughly decent objectives- representing I would say "the Best of British". I knew and loved his music which on my world travels I heard in public in some unexpected places. In particular I always enjoyed the gentle clarity of his singing voice and the delightful lyrics, so characteristic of his music. Above all he was fun to know. I enjoyed his friendship and although our lives took different paths geograpically, I always thought of him in terms of a close friend. Maureen my wife and I send our condolences to his charming widow Hazel and family.
December 05, 2009
Your music was a big part of my teenage years. Very good years. Just wanted to say thanks for the memories.
December 05, 2009
Some of the greatest discoveries in life remain little-known and behind-the-scenes; you were one of them, Mr. Woolfson. You were undoubtedly my #1 musical inspiration. What an amazing, imaginative writing talent you were...I have taken in your musical visions with utter delight from Tales of Mystery all the way to Freudiana, even though you considered this era of your life to be your lesser work. "Time, flowing like a river"...your gentle voice and your creativity were indeed timeless. It has been said that your personal disposition was as admirable as your music. Farewell for now, Eric, and thanks for the quality, top-shelf material you turned out for us all...although I never saw you perform or met you in person, I hope to see you in the afterlife.
December 05, 2009
Loved the Music and wore out the tapes while running and meditating to the music.
December 05, 2009
To Eric and his family -

Thank you for sharing your gift of music with the world. My dad and I were big fans of Alan Parsons Project during the band's heyday and my father stated for decades that he wanted the song "Time" by Alan Parsons Project played at his funeral. Sadly, when he passed away at age 77 last April, 2009, his wife refused to allow it. However, a smile crosses my face every time I hear those ethereal vocals (Eric's) sing that beautiful song, and fond memories of my dad come rushing back. Its so obvious that Eric was first and foremost a man whose family was the single most important part of his life, as should be the case. Just a long ride in a rollin' carty;
This not the end of your story;

Please say "hello Pete" for ol' Mortie.

"The words will live forevermore..." (from POE)

Eric Woolfson will live forever in my mind as the greatest lyricist and songwriter I have ever known. I cannot adequately express how much his music -- and his voice! -- has meant to me, or how devastated I feel having heard of his passing. I'm only slightly comforted by the fact that in May of 2009 I thought to write him and let him know how his work had affected me and how the music of the APP was truly a soundtrack to my life. His gracious response made me smile for days. My thoughts are with his loving family at this time, and also with the huge family of his fans - we all share this great loss. He himself reminded us that "days are numbers," and "the Traveler is always leaving home." Travel well, Eric.

My world is much grayer today and every day from now on.

"If you remember me... I am immortal." (POE)
December 04, 2009
I thought he was one of the most genuine people I have ever met. When you spoke to him, he really listened to you. I am quite upset by this news.
It came as a complete surprise.
My condolences to his family.
December 04, 2009
You have joined the list of beloved musical memorie makers and will be missed, but your atistry will live on. Thank you and we'll see you later.

December 04, 2009
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
