It was my priveldge to know Jim and Suzan over the last few years. They were very giving and generous with their time. I am so sad to learn of their untimely passing and send my prayers to the family.

It is with a heavy heart that I learned the sad news about Suzan and Jim.

I met Suzan many years ago through the Ulster County Handspinners Guild. Through the years we shared trips to Spinning/Weaving Conferences, workshops at the Zena Firehouse, demonstrations at the Ulster and Dutchess County Fairs and New York Sheep and Wool Festival, as well as other events.

Suzan's passion was demonstrating and talking about the Great Wheel and she was proud of Jim's woodworking and black smithing abilities. They enjoyed and shared a common interest in the historical aspects of their respective crafts. Jim crafted some beautiful tools for Suzan and his woodworking impressed us all.

I know that I will miss Suzan and think of her every time I see the Great Wheel Demonstrated at future events and I know that I will not be the only one! My heart goes out to the families of Suzan and Jim at this very sad time and I want to let you know that your loss is shared.

Jim and Suzan will be missed by everyone that knew them. As a couple they touched many people though their knowledge of history and heritage arts. I had the privilege of working with them for many years. Sharon LaFera(Olivebridge,NY)

My thoughts and prayers to the Stapleford family. This is truly a tragedy. Jim and Suzan will be greatly missed.
