"Yes, Scotty " That will always be who we will so fondly think of Mr. James Doohan as. A role he played so well that he actually became that character or person. He too made the show. And so , for each of his family members who saw him as either a beloved husband, father, brother , and so forth. May the peace of God be with you.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Scott. You Will Never Be Forgotten. See You On The Other Side Some Beautiful Day.
Scotty, you were the best; I felt like you were with me for my whole life; RIP

James Doohan is the Greatest StarTrek Tv&
Movies; He is in Heaven with God in Christ Forever rejoicing; StarTrek is Forever Known for Called Scotty is the
Greatest in History.
You will be missed greatly Scotty,
Now God will beam you up, in his arms.
You will be missed Mr. Scott.
For James...he burly chief engineer of the Starship Enterprise in the original "Star Trek" TV series and movies who responded to the command "Beam me up, Scotty.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

I only became a Trekkie a little over a year ago, so I never got the priviledge to meet Jimmy (1920-2005) at a convention. But I've checked out his autobiography from the library and I know that he is in Heaven and that one day, I'll see him and Deforest Kelley (1920-1999).
I will miss you deeply Scotty. your what star trek was about keeping the ship together. may your travels be happy.
we are all waiting for are time to say it's time to go home: beam me up scotty!!!
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Like many fans, I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy at a Star Trek convention. He is one of the most warm and personable people I have ever met. And will never forget. This summers movie reminded how much I missed the real Scotty.
Its hard to believe it is four years since you left us. I agree, your presence is missed. I hope heaven is treating you well.
Four years later and your presence is still felt and missed. We miss you Scottie!
I still miss you and Scottie.
Star Trek is one of my favorite shows. No one will ever replace the original Scottie for me. May your family find peace in the resurrection hope promised by Jesus Christ.
As an Engineer and Scientist myself, I will always admire the audacity and high ethics his character in Star Trek was. He was a great actor.
Scotty has beamed up. Hardly a week goes by without a reference to Star Trek. Thanks to a man who had so much influence on our view of space and sci-fi. He is missed.
Someone once said: "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." and I can truly say that I have been positively impacted by your life.
Through your acting you have convinced many scientists, engineers, programmers, and other technical people that science, engineering, programming, and technology is not evil, but good, and a life saver.
And I know that as long as there are television sets activated on this planet, your image will continue to inspire, challenge, and motivate those interested in technology.
And I thank you.
Warp Speed Mr. Scott.
My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr James Doohan.I grew up watching him on tv and he will be missed.God bless you all.
Larkin, I still have fond memories of spending time with you and your family back when we were childhood friends at Fulton Jr. High School. The slumber parties, and the delightful stories your father would tell. I remember how he changed the hands on the old clock on your mantle, just so I could hear the rich sound of the chimes, over and over again. He was a kind man, I am sorry to here of your loss. I wish you only happy memories of your father.
Love your work, met you once you were great. I will miss you everyday.
To the Doohan Family,
I've been a fan of James for years. He was the one person on Star Trek that made me happy to watch the show faithfully from inception to the end including the movies.
Well I guess GOD has "Beamed HIM UP" now to sit at his Golden Throne.
My sympathies[tho' a little late] go out to all your families. May God Bless You one & all.
You don't have to ever wonder if he brought joy & happiness to his fans because this is one fan who knows he did over & over many times.
I'll say good-bye for now with a prayer for all of you.****
To the Family of JAMES(SCOTTY)DOOHAN:
All my best to the family...
"I'M DOING THE BEST I CAN,CAPTAIN"
Will always be in my heart!!!
ALL MY LOVE
To the family of James(Scotty)Doohan. I am 50 yrs. old and i've watched every show and movie. And as you sit next to GOD and He ask How have you been, you can tell him:
"I'VE DONE THE BEST I COULD, SIR"
"GOD BLESS YOU"
~I loved you and miss you Mr.Doohan~
You'll have to go on impulse power now, old friend, because the warp engines have had it, I guess. More power to the shields, you said, but there was no shield between you and your fans. Your phaser may have been on stun, but you were never stunned, except a little towards the end. You knew how to tip 'em back, and even when Spock told you his gas thing was painless, you took advantage and had a shot in the old west. In your picture it looks like you don't really know where you are, but that's OK, because we always know where to find you: past the first star to the right. Wait, that's Peter Pan. But you're our Peter Pan, forever young, except I understand you were missing a piece of your finger from D-Day. Well, "Monty," rest well, and don't worry about the dilithium crystals now, you've got all the power you need, except in the sense of not being alive.
Greetings, I would like to send my condolences to the family of James Doohan. Prof.Rick Greene
I loved Star Trek... I will miss your presents on the Television...
"Beam Me Up Scottie..
Sadly missed... Your forever friend in Kansas
Jimmy was a very special friend to me and I miss his presence on this earth. I will never forget all he meant to me over the years of our friendship and hope that his spirit is soaring high and free. Someday we will meet again, my old friend.
(I wish I could remember that old toast you used to do but I'm sure you know which one I mean...)
It was a pleasure meeting James when he was in Charlotte, NC I think he was opening a video store and perhaps a convention as well. I remember him as friendly and warm.
I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TIL NOW TO PAY MY TRIBUTE TO MR. DOOHAN. I GREW UP WATCHING STAR TREK. HE WAS THE BEST THERE IS, THE BEST THERE WAS AND THE BEST THERE WILL EVER BE. THANK YOU SIR FOR THE MEMORIES YOU LEFT BEHIND FOR US TO THINK ABOUT YOU OFTEN. MAY YOU AND DeFOREST KELLY REST IN PEACE. ELTON
I MISS YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR CREW. I SURE ENJOYED WATCHING THE ORGINAL STAR TREK. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER STAR TREK, NO MATTER HOW MANY THEY MAKE.I WOULD LOVE TO READ HIS LIFE STORY.
Jim: I had the honor of working at your side in Rochester NY and bringing you a good drink. May your final voyage bring you to a far off place of comfort and joy. Shodai Soke Bruce Calkins. Gold Dragon Executive Services
I was missing my Dad (James Doohan) and thought I'd see what came up in my search engine - low and behold I found this wonderful Guest Book with such kind words and memories of my father! First I want to thank everyone who wrote for their entry. Second, I want all his fans to know that he truly loved them. His face would light up when he would tell us stories about the wonderful people he would meet at conventions, etc. He also has numerous gifts from the fans, which are cherished by his family now that he has passed. I would love to put them in a museum somewhere for all to see. I miss him terribly, as I know many do, but it is heartwarming to be able to read about how he touched so many lives. Thanks again, Deirdre
I met James Doohan twice at conventions and he was very entertaining and a genuine good guy!
I'll miss him a lot. My favorite original trek episodes were the ones where Scotty got to take the center seat. (even though that wasn't Scotty's "first best destiny"!)
My husband James and I grew up watching Star Trek, we loved Scotty. James Doohan was one of our favorites. He will be missed. Our prayers are with his family. God Bless.
I named my son Scott and dressed him up as a Star Trek Character when he was about 6 years old. Everyone would say to him " Beam me up Scottie" which was neat as they didn't know his name was Scott.
Anyway I was amazed at the amount of people who liked Star Trek and still do today.
I was a fan later in life as my husband is a " Trekkie ".
So from this home with Trekkies alike, it is with great sorrow that we say good-bye to a great man.
May his family find peace at this time and know that James ( Scottie ) will always have a place in our hearts.
We thank you James for many hours of laughter and interest in Outer Space.
You are a hero and a Scholar.
May you find peace in your Enterprise up in heaven.
God speed my friend....
Thank you Mr. Doohan
Thank you for the warm, intelligent portrayal of the beloved Mr. Scott. Thank you for the generosity you have shown to all your fans. But mostly, thank you for using your fame and popularity for all the positive things you achieved.
since i didnt know you personaly all i have to say is you were a great entertainer, star trek became what it is because of you and many other people... so in two words... you rocked
Hey Jimmy (Scotty)!!!!
RIP!! I had the privilege of meeting you for the first time in
San Jose, California, in 1992! I sat on your lap and someone took a photograph of us!!! I had it enlarged, and you autographed it at a convention in Santa Rosa, California! I will cherish this memory forever! In addition, it was great to see you get your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last August! God bless you and your family!!! Live long and prosper!!!!!!!!
June 6, 1944
Thank you Mr. Doohan
Jimmy, I will miss your smiling face.
You were always a gentleman.
Thank you for Scotty.
I am from and in the UK and am 21 years old. When i was 12, i suffered some personal problems and left school. Because of this, i found myself without any friends my own age to play with or to develop my social skills.
James Doohan and indeed, the entire cast of all Star Trek shows helped me through this. They taught me most of my ideals and how to treat people with respect. However, when i do think back to when i first began to watch Star Trek, "Scotty" is the first one that comes to mind everytime in the scene where he bangs his head on the Enterprise bulkhead in Star Trek 5:the final frontier. I laughed hysterically then and always do now!
Mr.Doohan, you and your co-stars captured my mind and my heart and i will NEVER forget you!
"Here's to ya lad"!
I had the opportunity to meet Jimmy three times. Each time he was gracious and kind. I will always smile when I see him in the old episodes or movies. They just don't make em' like James Doohan anymore! God Bless and condolences to the Doohan Family.
you made me laugh, you made me think,James Doohan I congrulate you on your lifetime achievements.
Mr. James Doohan,
Consummate Actor and Person
I do not really know how to describe James "Scotty" Doohan and feeling for him and what he did where my life and in it are concerned except in the same method "Scotty" it is said never tired of and is owed alot for.
Rather than "Beam me up Scotty." I will say I will never forget and am thankful for the at home entertainment Mr. Doohan truly helped to provide and the complete feeling of anticipation, joy, agreement with everyone present in a darkened yet buzzing theater this is going to be great as we waited for him and cohorts on Star Trek film.
The anticipation, joy, agreement only got worse(better) as the work of this master unfolded.
He is to be thanked for doing so much with what many would have not even considered doing.
Ashes to space is I think a fitting and completing action.
God welcome you and rest you James Doohan.
Farewell to my favorite Star Trek character....you will be sorely missed. I am grateful to have met you and shared a few moments talking of your Star Trek days, and will cherish your autograph for many years to come.
Time to take her to warp 9, Scotty. Your captain has beamed YOU up this time. God Bless.
My deepest sympathy to Mrs Doohan and James family.
You brought so much pleasure to myself and my children over the years. Thank you James RIP love Eddie, Paul, Mark and Carol X
Safe journey to your new frontier.
My deepest sympathy to the Doohan family
I GIVE MY CONDOLENCES TO THE DOOHAN FAMILY. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
TO MR. DOOHAN--
"BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!" THE PHRASE THAT "EVERYONE" KNOWS. MR. DOOHAN MADE SCOTTY A TV LEGACY. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER TWO OF HIS FAMOUS LINES WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH WHEN THE CREW HAD TROUBLE BEING "BEAMED UP" SUCH AS, "CAPTAIN! I'M DOING THE BEST I CAN! CAPTAIN! I'M GIVING IT ALL I GOT!"......WELL SCOTTY YOU "GAVE" YOUR BEST!....JOB WELL DONE! R.I.P. NOW YOU CAN FINALLY TRAVEL TO THAT FINAL FRONTIER................
"Where have all the good ones gone?"
On July the 20th 2005, (which coincidentally I believe was the 36 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission) I was reading about a Lost in Space episode called "The Keeper" and how it was a reunion of sorts between Jonathan (Evil Dr. Smith) Harris and Michael (Clatu, The Day the Earth Stood Still) Rennie. Sadly, as I was reading about Mr. Harris' Eulogy when my wife unexpectedly said to me that James (Montgomery Edward Scott) from Star Trek just passed away.
I said in disbelief, "Where have all the good ones gone?"
I watched Star Trek and Lost in Space for the first time when I was 12. I was in fact only about 1 month older than the real life Billy (Will Robinson) Mumy.
These shows and their characters such as Jimmy had a tremendous impact on this wide-eyed awe struck youth. In fact I decided to pursue the sciences as a career due to this inspiration…
Jimmy, you have changed many of lives for the better. Marriages, careers, perhaps even the direction of the Space Program have changed from your dedication and tremendous impact of your character. Both in real life and in your character you were a true hero. You will be sorely missed.
I'm sure where ever you are now, your shaking things up and who knows, you might even be able to change the laws of physics...
Dr. Chase Simokat
P.S. This is my first fan mail ever!
JAMES MAY THE WIND BE BEHIND YOUR BACK.GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace and God be with his family in this sad time.

You taught us to look beyond the limitations of the world around us while embracing heritage in it's finest forms, not only in character, but in your life as well. Twas an honor to know ye ever so briefly.

I grew up on Star Trek and loved Scotty! I am so sorry it was his time to be beamed up. My deepest sympathy to his family.
Thank you for the terrific voyages - as you begin your next one.
I grew up on Star Trek and Scotty was my favorite character. He will be missed!
You were a great actor in your life! You have no pain anymore. Rest in Peace!
TV can inspire and educate. Jimmy did both. In my line of work as a computer tech, no one can say they didn't find a little bit of a role model in the character Jimmy created
You live in the hearts and memories of all who admire you.
I enjoyed your work. You will be missed.
I was deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Doohan's passing--more affectionally known as "Mr. Scott" from the TV series, Star Trek. He made the impossible--possible. James has now entered that realm of space where no other has boldly gone. My condolences and prayers to your family. We will miss you Scotty.
My condolences to the entire Doohan family and friends. He was a great inspiration for all people and a very proud man. My condolences also go to all of "Scotty's" fans and friends from Star Trek. You are all in my prayers at this time.
James...you are and shall always be my friend
MY SINCERE SYMPATHY. HE GAVE MY FAMILY A LOT OF PLEASURE WITH THE SERIES.
My prayers are with the Doohan family.
Wende Doohan & family,
Please accept my condolences in the loss of husband & father. I recently lost my dad & as long as his love & good memories are shared by family & friends he will not be forgotten. The same way you & your family all will remember James.
In our family Star Trek (et al) are in 3rd generation.
I hope knowing the talent, laughs, wisdom he shared with his fans as "Scotty" brings you a wee bit of peace to your heart.
The order has been given, Scotty go Home & rest.
May God bless you & family with peace & comfort in these next few weeks.
We will miss you greatly, Scotty!
Sincere condolances to the family of James Doohan ... The Harper Family
Because of the realistic portrayal of a chief engineer, I honestly sometimes believe I understand how a warp engine works. My condolences to the Doohan family. He will be sorely missed but is at last going on that jounrey to the final frontier.
My daddy was passed away last year at the age of 51. I understand what you are going thru. I am sorry for your loss. God be with your family and friends.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Doohan once. He was a wonderful speaker and a great actor. I wish him a good journey, and yes, he CAN defy the laws of physics!
My condolences to the Doohan family in the loss of James. I watched Star Trek from day one and even watch the reruns now. He will be greatly missed by all of us that loved him.
My sincere condolences to Wende and the Doohan Family and even all his fans. What a legacy and a role model James has left us. James made people believe that anythings is possible. You will be missed dearly James.God Bless the Family and my there hearts rest in peace.
You will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to your family.
my dilithium crystals have now lost their power... sadly
I loved the original TV Series, 'Star Trek.' I used to think I was all alone as a child (in adoring this series). Years later, as we all know, we would come to find out that there were many of us loyal and adoring fans. Mr. Doohan's portrayal of the likeable character of Scotty was always a pleasant part of my imagination of a 'galaxy far away!' I thank him for providing that moment of childhood innocence and fun in my life. God bless his family at this time of their loss.
As Scotty,You made us believe anythings possible.Have a Good journey Mr.Scott,WARP SPEED!!
It seems your tenacity in life mirrored that in the scripts from which you read. Ironically, while "sticking to the plan" of a predetermined dialogue you managed to illustrate the need for "thinking outside the box", a trait that can only be described as proudly human (no offense, Leonard). I greatly appreciate your body of work and thank you sincerely for the smiles and inspiration. You the person will be missed, Mr. Doohan, but your legacy likely won't fade any time soon.
Kyle W. Kuykendall
A part of our youth seems to have gone away forever. An excellent actor and influence on those young folks who wanted to be engineers, because they saw "Scotty" trying to fix those old engines again. May you rest in peace.
My sincere condolences to Wende and the Doohan Family. What a legacy and a role model James has left. A kind man. An inspiration to worldwide fans and a group of film-making kids back in the 1960's-1970's in San Jose, California who now are around the world and some among the stars. God bless. Keith
This Space Fan wishes you a safe journey home.
Thanks so much James for your wonderful character of "Scotty".
You brought so much to the Star Trek universe! You will be missed greatly. Clear skies!!
youve given it all youve got.
Thank you Mr Doohan for your wonderful enthusiasm and appreciation for your fans. Thank you for the wonderful years of Star Trek, in which you contributed so much.
The Enterprise could have not have gone "where no man has gone" without its Chief Engineer, Montgomery Scott.
The Star Trek fandom will miss you!
My prayers are with his wonderful family, during this time of sorrow.
We will remember James Montgomery Doohan!!!
I loved the show and doohans charactor, he is the one that inspiried me to go into electronics and my last job as an engineering aide in improving telephone equipment was the best i ever had in my life. I got to make trips to different parts of the country and miltary bases. A friend of mine got to meet him personaly and said that he was a great person to talk to and seemed to be a good person. I beleave the world will miss a good man and a wonderfull humanbeing. My condolences to his family and close friends.
I met you in 1975 giving autographs at the Star Trek convention. There seemed to be a thousand people in that line and you were signing them all. When you got to mine, I told you that your performance of Scotty and the whole Star Trek experience helped me survive my Army service. I remember the size of our smile...It was almost as big as your heart. It was an honor and a pleasure to have met you.
May You Rest in Peace
James Doohan (Scott's) will be dearly missed as one of the greatest Star Trek charactors ever known. I glad he got to be in some movies and the Next Generation series shows.
YOU WHERE A GREAT PERSON. THANKS FOR BEING PART OF OUR LIVES. U WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOUR FAMILY. MAY THEY TAKE COMFORT IN KNOWING HOW LOVED YOU ARE. MAY GOD SHINE YOUR LIGHT DOWN ON US.
All I can say is: "wow". Jimmy was very much loved by his family and his fans. As the original engineer for the Enterprise, Scotty made the "impossible" seem possible. He kept the ship running at peak effeciency, even though he multiplied his repair times by a factor of 4. The character Scotty definately inspired many young people to pursue a career in engineering, the same as "Bones" inspired a lot of young folks to become doctors. Kirk was the Captain, but Scotty kept things running. I never knew too much about Jimmy personally, but I'm sure a lot of himself went into the Scotty character. As can be seen by the previous entries in the guest book, he will be greatly missed by a lot of folks. His spirit, however, will always be with us and I, for one, am glad he showed us that the "impossible" could be done. He was one of the pioneers of the computer age due to the fact that a lot of the instrumentation and contols that he used to run the ship actually exist today in one form or another. Thanks Jimmy for a job well done. Rich poyer
James Doohan will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to the family and friends, they will need comfort in this time of sadness.
He was an amazing man and full of life. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his family. Sincerely, Peggy McBride
You've been beamed UP my friend!
We'll all miss you!
To the family: God is ever faithful and will be with you during this time of great loss. May you draw peace and confromt from Him.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your familty. Thanks for the memories of Scotty and the several times at conventions I was fortunate enough to personally meet you.
scotty we will all miss you,
and will see you soon in heaven..
l.l.a.p. (live long and prosper)
Save journey Scottie! We will miss you but you will live on through our memories. Your work will be remembered by many Star Trek fans. Blessings to you and your family!
James Doohan....What can you say about someone who inadvertently has touched the lives of people for over 30 years as one of the most popular characters in pop culture. Many have placed stories of how they'd met hm at a convention, or such. I never had that opportunity.
However, the news of his passing was just as imensely painful to me as one who'd met him personally. We will all miss Scotty. but most of all, will miss the kind hearted, loving, giving person behind him named Jimmy.
May God bless and keep his family in their time of need, and guide them through this.
And Jimmy, say Hi to Gene and De for all of us will ya? We miss you all!
Our sympathies and prayers to the Doohan clan for the loss of James. Please always know that he plied his craft with all the realisms that some only strive for.I personally met him once and he was kind and giving of his time to just a 19 year old, I shall take this with as I go about my travels.Thank you again Mr.Doohan.Godspeed!
Pellegrini's of Washington State
Rest in Gods hands Scotty. You and Bones will both be missed.
My prayers are with your family and loved ones.
The world lost a great man, but wherever he is, its a better place. Take care, and of course, 'qapla and godspeed
You're a man who has impacted many, many lives. May God comfort your family in this time of loss.
God bless you James Doohan. You gave us a lot of joy in Star Trek, a delight at conventions and cruises. Made you feel like a friend , not a fan....You also help save the world by serving your country and the world
You will live on in our hearts
My heart felt sympathy to the Doohan Family . Your loss is all ours too

James will be remembered by everyone even if they weren't trekkies. His legacy will be passed through generations.God bless and remember, he and the others from the cast touched the hearts of millions.
My sincerest condolences to the Doohan family. My brother and I started watching Star Trek from the very first episode in the 60s and became instant fans. I have watched every episode of the Star Trek series and every movie multiple times, and "Scotty" was always a favorite character. I loved his accent. My favorite "Scotty" role was in Star Trek IV, The Voyage Home. The phrase, "Beam me up, Scotty" will truly live on forever. You will be missed. I hope you knew how much you were loved by your family and fans. May you be with God and may God be with your family.
God be with your family. Thank you Mr. Doohan for all the memories that will live on for eternity. Thanks to you, I grew to know the Enterprise "like the back of my hand".

What can I say, what is there to say? I really wish your family can see those post and read them all to see how much people appreciated you. Remember all that M. Doohan served his country well in the military and as a brother of arms, let me thank you in the name of all Canadians. When 'De' left, I felt something break inside. And now that you're gone as well, I know what it was. As each of you are leaving, it is part of my childhood that's leaving too. But guess what, 7 days ago, my teenage daughther got the taste for Star Trek too. It just happened like that! Now, she watches every bit she can including the classics. You never know, maybe she'll end up being an F-18 technician like me. Thanks for everything M. Doohan, see you up there, someday......
I sorry for your loss. I am a huge fam.
It was your time to be beamed aboard a bigger and more important ship. It would be God's Ship, I know that you will serve it well.
For I have loved the stars far too fondly ever to fear the night.
Scotty, may you and Bones always be togather.
My condolences go out to the family of James Doohan. I fondly remember James for his wonderful role as Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott, aka "Scotty" on the original "Star Trek" series during the 1960s. I will always be a "Trekie" at heart and a large part of the credit is due to Mr. Doohan's influence on the show and the subsequent movies that followed. Rest in Peace Scotty.
You were a piece of my favorite show of all time. Its funny, people can't remember a lot of things, but they sure can tell you who "Scotty" was. We will miss you as you go Boldly into the Final Frontier.
My heartfelt prayers go out to the family of James Doohan. He was a wonderful actor and a joy to watch. He will be missed, He was and always will be Montgomery Scott(Scotty). ~Wilma
God has finally beamed you up to be with the angels on that Heavenly Enterprise in the sky, where the dilithium crystals are plenty and all is at peace.

My condolences to your family and closest friends. Much love.
Mr. Doohan was such fun to watch on t.v. and on the big screen. I attended one of his speaking engagements at Fresno State. He was delightful, both at the podium and while greeting his fans! Thanks for some wonderful memories!
May you rest in peace and forever be happy in heaven. You will be missed by my family and myself.

James Doohan's Family,
He was a wonderful actor in his role of Cheif Engineer Scotty. I enjoyed watching him on Star Trek as well as all the movies of Star Trek. He will be missed by all. But as Captain Kirk would say "Beam me up Scotty" those words to him will always be remembered.
Thank you James Doohan for your way of making us all smile and laugh, May God Bless your Family.
Scotty, I can't but tell you how much of a help you have been to my life, and now you're gone. I know you were but an actor, but your valiant chivalry was the cause of me becoming an engineer. Now I work for one of the most profitable companies in the country. I wish you all the best in your travels. I know you can't give her anymore (she's gonna blow) but you and Geordi La Forge have given me more than enough courage and incentive to become interested in engineering despite the fact that both of you only played engineers. I salute you and I will see you on the other side. Say hi to McCoy for me (Im a doctor, not an engineer!!!)
Coordince locked in. One to beam up. Energize. You are and will always be part of history. Not only history but of a vision that I dream of every night when I gaze at the stars. ONE DAY Jimmy.....

may god give you a place in heaven.
Thanks for the memories, Scotty!
Go with GOD. HE has beamed you up. May your family be comforted by the fact that others share their loss.
James contributed to the outlook of youth in our society through entertainment. He will be remembered for his compassion. Thank you for contributions. CJ
Despite my selfish desire to lament the loss of a man so easy to love, I find that I would do a great disservice by failing to celebrate such a life as this. In the course of eighty-five years James Doohan reached out with his own hands to touch many of the most important threads in the tapestry that we now view as history. From the bold fight at Normandy to the silver screen, Mr. Doohan saw and did much that is worthy of remembrance.
But even those thoughts aren't the ones that lightened my heart when I considered the sad news of Mr. Doohan's passing.
Instead, it was the simple realization that he always made me smile.
GO WITH GOD AND BE IN PEACE
God has beamed you up Mr Doohan don't give Bones & Gene too much trouble. You gave much enjoyment to your family and the World for Many generations from the Past and in the Future..Go with God
Barbara Groves Old time KC Star Trek fan.
I'm very sorry for your loss, but please remember to live on in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. So he'll always be with us.
My greatest sympathies to the Doohan family. Your father/husband was a wonderful actor and a gentleman that I loved watching on Star Trek. He truely inspired me every time I watched the show and just loved his ability to act.
My condolences to the Doohan family. James is part of history an era in entertainment that will never be forgotten.
Imagine the beauty of it, that moment when the soul of a loved one returns to the stars, the voices each whispering, I remember you. How true these words are for Mr. Doohan. Thinking of you in your time of sorrow. Nina, Tommie, Trey & Nyna Crews
You were a excellent actor and will be missed. Now you await the resurrection and I look forward to that day when you will be 'beamed up'.
U will be missed! Beam me up Scotty!
The order is given Scotty: Warp Speed. We'll remember you always.
May you boldly go, where only good men have gone before. GOD Bless, you will be sorely missed!!!

"But what does God want with a starship?" I do not know, but he has His engineer if ever he needs one.
God's blessings to his grieveing family, friends and kids. You know James better than we do and we are sorry for your loss.
"Second star to the right....and straight on 'til morning...."
"Computer, end program."
Dear Doohan Family,
James was a much beloved man---and a great actor, and even though I will never see him again, he remains alive in my heart. I had the great pleasure and honor of meeting him in the mid 1970's at Cobleskill Comm. College. I was so impressed by his warmth and he really seemed to enjoy visiting.
One of my favorite scenes from the show is where "Scotty" is being questioned why he became involved in a fight. His answer was that someone had dared to insult his beloved ship---and nobody was going to get away with that!!
Goodbye Scotty, my unsung hero!
My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with you and your family. Your father was a wonderful man as will you be. Take care of your self...I'm here if you need me.
I, among others, release you from this world and now, as always, shall we forever remember your crucial part, along with that glorious team, showing us that just being human is the best attribute a person can attain. Thank you for your work.
It was at the Americana Lounge during college days in Ripon Wisconsin when we met. What a great speaker and great showman. It was the late 1970's or was it the early 1980's... Anyway, pitcher of the house bre afterward and "war" stories will forever be remembered. It was an honor and a pleasure. My Mom passed on 5-5-05 and this short verse was read (written by John Masefield):
I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Doohan at a convention in Dearborn, Michigan. He was a wonderful, genuine, truly nice guy.
God's speed, Mr. Scott! You will be missed.
You were one of the great ones and will surely be missed. I loved Star Trek and you made the show what it was. Rest in peace sir and may God Bless you and your family that you have left behind. Peace.
Blessings and thanks for so many memories.
JIMMY I will never forget that twinkle in your eyes and the devil eating grin on your face when my friends and I know you were up to something to all the stories that amazed us of your tour of duty and others I WILL TOAST YOU WITH A GLASS OF JIMMY WALKER RED AND SAY...
THE DOOHAN TOAST THAT WE ALL KNOW.
MY CHILDREN AND I WANT TO SEND LOVE AND PEACE TO THE FAMILY OF A GREAT MAN WHO HELPED WHENEVER HE COULD AND REMEMBERED US ALL.
SAY HI TO DE,GENE,MARK AND MAMA KAY FOR ME.
THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES AND FRIENDSHIP.
thank you for allowing us to be his fans. please allow me to extend my deepest sympathy upon the loss of your james. i've never heard anyone speak negatively about your james, and in this life that is a great accomplishment. i pray God will give you strength to get through the dark night, and that your tears will dry soon. thank you for allowing me to write this to you as you grieve. sincerely.
Thank you for all the years of joy and fun your that you shared with us.
Capt. Scott inspired us all, showing that there's always hope, always a resolve.
I will always treasure your smile and warmth when I met you in 2000.
"Bones" and "The Great Bird of the Galaxt" await you.
We'll miss you, but you'll live in out hearts forever.
May God bless you....
I came to appreciate Scotty's character through the Star Trek shows and the movies. (My favorite one was Star Trek Movie IV) His wit, optimism and courage as the Enterprise engineer was a source of inspiration for this young scientist.
Thanks to the Doohan family for sharing this wonderful person with Trekkies like me and others from around the world. I offer my deepest sympathies on his passing.
My family and I had the honor of meeting you once, I will treasure that day for the rest of my days~ Thank you for all the years of entertainment, may you rest in peace~
Now you are on to the final frontier Godspeed You gave all you had to give the Enterprise all she had YOU WILL BE MISSED
Thank you for giving me the drive and curiosity to at least TRY to fix everything I can - what a great inspiration to all of mankind you have been. God Speed to your final home.
Thank you for all the innocent pleasure. You were always there for the captain and we will always be there for you. You bought life to your character. You will always be remembered. Thank you.
Long before Star Trek, as a youngster I had a chance to see one of your finest performances. In 1956, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation did a live broadcast of a new teleplay by an unknown named Arthur Hailey, who was later to write best-selling books, including "Airport" and "Hotel." The Great Doohan was the star of "Flight Into Danger", playing the passenger asked to fly an airliner after the pilots ate the wrong meal. That story became a movie in 1957, a television movie in 1971 and served as the inspiration for the 1980 spoof, "Airplane." But nothing ever touched the original and a still from the production was on the CBC site this week showing Doohan at the controls. I hope your native land will recognize your pioneering work in television. And if they ever release a DVD of the 1957 film version (Zero Hour with Dana Andrews), a nice extra would be the kinescope recording of the original with the Great Doohan. There was so much more to the man who landed on Juno Beach on D-Day, than Scotty. But Scotty was another great Doohan creation.
Scotty... We will miss you forever. You were serching for the places that no man has been before... but now you have boldly went where countless others have gone.
Thanx to you for entertaining us so often and God bless you for your heroism during the war.(1944}
I'll miss you always.
Thank you, James Doohan for bringing the character of Mr. Scott to life. May you rest in peace, and say hello to Deforest and Gene for us all. My condolences to your family.
Your final voyage has begun.
Thank you for bringing a great and memorable character to the Star Trek cast and series.
My son, a better trekkie than I, will also miss you, Mr. Scott!
God Bless. We wish his family the best in these times. Long live the Flight Engineer!
My thoughts and prayers go to the family of James Doohan "Scottie". I have seen all of the episodes he was in and loved the roll he played. My heart is saddened even more since the loss of my closest friend last friday. God Bless and may Jesus be your savior.
Alzheimer's may steal from us the man that once was, but it can never take away the memories that we have tucked away deep in our hearts. My Dad passed away last year from Alzheimers. Our condolences and prayers are with James Doohan's family.
I grew up watching Star Trek. Scotty was one of my favorite characters.
May God Bless You, Mr. Doohan.
To the Family of James Doohan,
My husband and I are both huge Star Trek fans who grew up watching the original cast on through to TNG and DS9, but never has there been an Engineer like Scotty. As important and admired as he was by fans like us I'm sure the impression he made on your lives is one that will never be equalled. May you be comforted by knowing your loved one is finally at peace and that he was cherished by many the world over. God Bless.
Beam me up Scottie. I watched you & love you. You were my fav! U R in God's land now. I'll get to meet you there along with my family. And, I never forgot your name Jame Doohan. Love to you always Sammi Ann Marcum
I had the luck of actually getting to see Scottie (James Doohan) at a Star Trek convention. He was just as wonderful in person as he was in Star Trek. He talked to me and when he said "Darlin" it was so cool! He may have beamed up to heaven, but he is still in my thoughts and as long as there are Trek tapes and DVD's he will live on in others thoughts too. He kept the Enterprise running! He kept us smiling. God Bless you and your family and smile because now he helps the Angels smile.
will really miss you, Scotty
The world has lost a great actor. He gave us a character that has become internationally known and an inspiration to all who work with machines and electronics. Scotty, it is your turn to be "beamed up" this time to your Captain.
Thank you Scotty for all of your great talent and helping making Star Trek a success. You were my favorite character on the show. You had such a warm and welcoming presence about you. I remember meeting you at the Mall of America several years back. You thanked me for coming. Thank you. Take Care and God Bless. Sue

I loved watching you on Star Trek, which started during my Freshman year in High School. I would discuss the show with friends while riding on the bus to school. You were always one of our favorite actors on the show.

I keep telling my husband to do things the "Scotty" way. Always double the estimated time for repairs so when you get it done in half the time you quoted, people will be amazed at your ability to get the job done in record time. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of James Doohan for your loss and God Bless. He will be missed.
You boldly went where no man had gone before, showing us a future when many believed we had none. Now may you humbly go where many have gone before. Godspeed.

God's speed Mr. Doohan. You will always be missed.
I have been a trekkie since I was 10 years old & enjoy each and everyone of the Star Trek Crew. To lose any of them is heartbreaking. McCoy’s departure was bad enough & now Scotty. We have lost the greatest engineer in our time. He has gone where no man has gone before. My sympathy to the friend & family of James Doohan a.k.a. Scotty; he was a remarkable actor & person. May God enjoy his present & grace as we did. Goodbye Scotty, we will truly miss you.
My sympathies to the family but just like Dr McCoy, Scotty will still live on as long as there are Star Trek fans. Thank You Mr Doohan for the memories.
I am not a TV viewer, but in most of my 69 years, the only none radio programs I watched were the UC Berkeley Contential Classroom on atomic & nuclear physics, and the initial Star Trek epasodes, over and over again. Beam me up Scotty!
BEEM ME UP SCOTTY. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER FOR EVER.

Scotty. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for your talents and fun.
Thanks Scotty for keeping her together one more time.
When I went to my first Trekkie convention in Chicago in 1976, Mr. Doohan was the one who asked me questions to see if I qualified to be a "Real" Trekkie. Thank God I knew what the Jeffreys Tube was! What an honor to be told by "Scotty" that I was the real thing!
You will always be remembered fondly by millions of people and you changed the lives of many. Who could ask for more?
We love and miss you, Scotty!
All my sympathy to the Doohan family. Thanks for letting us have him for so long.

Thanks for "Giving her all she's got", Mr. Scott... RIP
James Doohan will be missed greatly. We are all going to remember him with a lovely fondness reserved only for those who we have consistantly invited into our homes through television, though we did not know them personally.
I will remember you not only as Scotty, but as a versatile actor and great story teller.
I will miss your humor, your wisdom, and the smile in your eyes.
Here's to you, Jimmy; my heart to your family, may they be at peace.
Thank you, James Doohan, and farewell to a fine entertainer. I hope the Angels appreciate you as much as you deserve. Until we meet again, I salute you.

God bless you! You lived and enjoyed a wonderful life; and, you positively influenced many generations. I hope you have been "beamed" to a wonderful and peaceful place.
To the family of James Doohan--First, as a Star Trek fan, I want to try to express how amazing it was to meet such a warm, delightful gentleman many years ago in person at a Sci Fi convention in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He impressed us all with his genuine caring for people, and he mesmerized us with his ability to do foreign accents and tell funny stories! Jimmy's humanity and loving personality was obviously the reason his Star Trek character of "Scotty" was an unforgettable favorite of the fans, and why he inspired millions of people! He also was a veteran and a hero to us all. May it comfort you as his family to know that he's on his final voyage. Godspeed, Jimmy, and God bless your family for sharing you with us for 85 marvelous years! How fitting that our Lord has beamed him up on the 36th anniversary of man's first walk on the moon! As Bones said in ST: "He's not gone, as long as we remember him." God bless you in this time of sorrow, until you see him again in Heaven.
Thank you "Scotty" for all the
You will be MISSED!!
Our sincerest regrets about the passing of James Doohan. He was a very special person to have touched so many through his presence and work.
Thank you, Jimmy, for sharing your wonderful talents with us through the years. May the Doohan family and friends find peace in knowing how many lives Jimmy enriched with his grace, humor, and talent. Godspeed to you all.
You will be missed and your influence on our lives in unaccountable. May you rest in peace and my the Lord show you the way to the proper transporter room and beam you to the pearly gates without delay..."...it was be best of time's, it was the worst of times..."
Scottie and the rest of the Enterprise crew were a huge part of my adolescence. James Doohan was a great actor and a greater man. He was very much loved and will be very much missed, by both those who knew him personally and by fans like me who never met him, but who loved his portrayal of Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott. I give my condolences and prayers to the Doohan family in this time of grief.
Thank you, James Doohan, for giving us the most wonderful role model, Montgomery Scott! I have always taken to heart the "miracle worker" theory and have been referred to by that moniker in my many careers. Hope the Granddaddy of Miracle Workers finally gives you a long deserved rest with a good bottle of Scotch at your elbow!!!
I had the honor to see James at a Star Trek convention in Ft. Mitchell, Ky. He made you feel like he knew you personally. He will be missed.
No matter what the predicament, It was usually Mr. Scott who saved the day. My favorite "Scotty" moment occured in "The Tholian Web" when he asked Dr McCoy if the antidote he had made mixed well with scotch. Now he he can tip a few with his old buddy aboard that great Starship in the Sky. Ahead Warp Factor One Mr. Scott
I'll never forget the day when Wende brought Jimmy along to our company's annual picnic. The kids all immediately recognized Jimmy, and quickly gathered around him. We adults had no clue that our Wende was married to a famous TV star, and it took us a few minutes to understand what all the commotion was about. Jimmy couldn't have been nicer and more open to us all. My kids still remember and talk about that day as one of the real high points of their growing up years. Jimmy was a treasure, and we all feel badly for Wende....also a treasure.
From the Mighty Warrior Music Studio in little Penryn-James (Scotty) I have grown up in the best era seeing t.v. changed from black and white, records to c.d.'s, Star Trek to more Star Trek. May God Bless the Family and may You rest In Peace in God's Space and Time.
As a fourth-generation engineer of Scottish descent, I always appreciated the way Mr. Doohan portrayed my favorite "Star Trek" character, Montgomery Scott. I extend my best wishes to his family as he "beams up."
MY DEEPEST SIMPATHY TO JAMES DOOHAN
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
MAY GOD COMFORT YOU
This is a terrible loss for James Doohan's family and the very large and always growing Star Trek family. Scottie the miracle worker will always hold a special place in my heart.
You will be missed. Save journey back to the stars. Beam him up Lord.
Doohan family--you must be so proud of James' career and so sorrowful of his death. My condolences to you.
Watch him since I was a kid...brought many hrs of enjoyment in our home and I thank him for that! Loved him!!
Scottie, we will miss you.
Scotty is in a better place now. When it's my time, may he be manning the transporter to "Beam ME up"!
I was deeply saddened to hear of James Doohan's passing.I loved his well known character "Scotty" and the many episodes he starred in. I have seen every Star trek film ever made. I will always remember the original Star Trek Series and the orginal actors who starred in them. They have, in a sense, become family to me over the years. My sincerest sympathies to the Doohan Family and friends. May James rest in peace.
My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of James Doohan. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but several friends who are regulars on the Star Trek convention circuit did meet him, and are unanimous in praising "Jimmy" Doohan as gracious, down-to-Earth, and always ready to hoist a glass with his fans. He will be missed.
Beam Scotty up to heaven.Condolences to the family and friends.
My deepest sympathy to the Doohan family. I joined James' fan club back in 1976 -- he was the first crush I ever had, actually. And I don't think I could have chosen better; he was a fine actor, and a good man. And he will be sorely missed.
My symapthy to the Doohan family. I was watching Star Trek before I could walk and "Scottie" with his robust manner was always one of my favororite cast members. He never pulled any punches, he was always a straight shooter with that good ol' scotch-irish flare. James you will forever be in my heart, God bless and God speed. Angela
My deepest simpathy to the family of "Scotty". He and the Star Trek family are a part of me. James was the best at what he did. He will be remembered.
My condolences to the Doohan family on your loss. I began watching Mr. Doohan on Star Trek before I could understand the English language in St. clair Shores, MI. It seems like yesterday. I picture him in a garden (Eden) as portrayed on an episode where the landing party beems down to the surface of a planet which resembles the Garden of Eden. Spock fell in love w/ a young girl as a result of certain spores which shot out of plants. Godspeed Mr. Doohan!
Thanks for the memories and I hope everyone who reads this e-mails NASA to get your ashes into space where I know there will be "No Tribble at all" God Bless "Scotty"
I grew up watching star trek and he and deforrest kelly were my favorites. the backbone of any movie or tv show has always been the good character actors. Besides playing a hero mr doohan was a real life war hero. i hope his wife ,children and entire family know how many people are praying for them and i hope Christ keeps them in the palm of His hand and comforts them.
MAY THE LORD CONTINUE TO BE A FENCE AROUND YOUR FAMILY.WEEPING MAY COME IN THE NIGHT BUT JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING.
I hope you realy go "where no man has gone before" God Bless !
James was my hero when I was a kid watching Star Trek. I will sadly miss him. I send out my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this hero. Please remember this great guy.
As a semi-professional "starship designer" of more than twenty years experience, I saw James Doohan as a child as one of the real characters of the show Star Trek, and indeed, it was he who inspired me to produce my very best work. He shall be missed. Hope somebody names a space probe after him in the very least - and if possible, if they finally get to Mars, possibly a settlement too.
Such a beautiful man gone from this world. R.I.P.
He kept reason and sanity alive on the "Enterprise", without "Scotty" the "Klingons" would surely have done them in.
James, enjoy your last "trek"
Thank you for the laughter, joy and thrills. You made SUCH a difference.
I sincerely applaud your carrer and your incredible life. You cannot imagine the hope your work has instilled. I am honored that I had the pleasure to meet and speak to you once. Forever a fan - GodSpeed Mr. Scott.
"The word is given Mr. Scott...WARP SPEED"..
Thank you Jimmy for making Star Trek a special part of our lives.
My condolences to Mr. Doohan's family and friends. My mother has Alzhiemer's and I am her caretaker, so I understand. Mr. Doohan served everyone who saw his acting prowess as "Montgomery Scott" in so many different ways. His range was vast and he allowed us to experience the emotions that are what make us human. Thank you, Mr. Doohan!
Godspeed to you, James "Scotty" Doohan. You will never be forgotten.
Thank you for all the entertainment you provided us. may you R.I.P
Deepest condolences to all members of the Doohan family. The greatest engineer of all the universe has "beamed up" his faithful servant, "Scotty" to be with Him. Enjoy those heavenly rewards for all you have done for so many. Rest in peace, Scotty!!
I was SO sorry to hear of James' passing. I met him years ago here at a mini Star Trek Convention at John Carroll University and found him a lovely man. I've always been a Trekkie and loved Scotty. He will be missed.
I request blessings and love for the family of such a wonderful man. He entertained us and took us with him on his many trips. God Blessed him and now He is letting James do what he really wanted, "Go where no man has gone before." May his trip be all he thought it would be. God will continue to bless his family as they must stay Earth bound until they are able to follow.
You have been beamed up James "Scotty" Doohan
I am lost to know what to say.
Good by Mr Doohan
Always brought a smile to my face.
The great character you portrayed in Star Trek inspired me to become an engineer. I recently retired from a twenty year Navy career and my proudest moments was being referred to as "CHENG", or Chief Engineer. Thank you Scotty for the inspiration.
My heartfelt sympathies to your family . you where the best !
God bliss and R.I.P. Scotty
James, from kicking dust in Bonanza to flying warp speed in Stat Trek, you have touched the lives of millions. Thank you for your gift.
"Beam me up Scotty"
"Scotty beam up, It's lonely here without you"
Will miss you
A man who touched many has passed, but the memories will remain. Beamed up for one last time.
You gave us, and the Enterprise, all the power we've got Scotty. Thank You. Your on the Final Frontier.
What a great talent! James was a wonderful guy. He was very unique and was just himself which earned him numerous fans. He will never be forgotten. I love James and my sympathy goes to the family. May the love of our Lord Jesus be a comfort to you.
My husband and I meet watching "Star Trek" at the Baptist Student Union at the University of Florida. We have the shows and movies on DVD and are still enjoying them today. Our three children are also fans. Scotty was my favorite character. He will be missed. Our prayers go out to the family and friends. "There be whales here!" and Beam me up Scotty!".
Not very often in this life does someone come along that can touch the hearts of so many, and that was James Doohan.
My husband and I grew up watching Star Trek in the 60s and 70s, and "Scotty" was always our favorite. His wit, his smile, his inspiration, and the love he shared for his fans will always be with us and I doubt we'll ever see the likes of such a man again.
In the final moments of the episode, "Relics", Scotty leaves the Enterprise in a shuttlecraft to continue his journey and that's how I'll remember Jimmy. Traveling among the stars.
Our heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
God bless you all,
Bill & Denise Downey
The pain of loss is the price of memory where an end is only a beginning journey in reverse. Our fond memories are like dreams that have come true, as you brought joy to the lives you touched. Your warm smile and kind heart will be truly missed.
My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. James "Scotty" Doohan, he will live on in the minds and hearts of his fans. "Warp speed Scotty" and may God Bless all.
Beam Me Up Scotty...
May you Rest in Peace on your Final Frontier
You were a great man and we will all miss you, but never to be forgotten - you and Star Trek will live forever!
God Bless - Phil Sheridan
A previous entry referred to the episode where Scotty reappeared with the Next Generation after being in a transporter loop. I especially liked his advise to the young ship's engineer. He told him to give the captain an inflated estimate of time of repair and then when he did it quicker, the captain would think you were a miracle worker. It worked with the Scottish accent. That, and one of the very early episodes "The Trouble with Tribbles" where Scotty beamed the Tribbles off with the Klingons, where they would " . . . be no tribble at all."
I know it was just a television show, but Scotty was most people' favorite. He gave it all he had, even when the dilithium crystals were deteriorating.
My heart goes out to everyone who has loved the "Scotty" character James portrayed. What Gene Rodenberry did with this series was give us all hope for a future in our minds. To the family of James, rest assured he is busy doing what he loves right now. Bless you all!
Good-bye Scotty...Warp Speed
To James Doohan's family, his friends and his fans... my most sincere condolences- and all of my prayers.
And to 'Scotty'... my thanks to you for the entertainment, the joy, and the pleasure... that you've brought to myself and to so many of us across the years.
You are now truly there amongst the stars, good Sir. And to you Sir- warp speed :-) ~ Jon
Dear Doohan family
James will be deeply missed and forever loved. I am very sorry for you loss. Please remember that his light will shine forever in all our hearts.
May you find the comfort and strength to help you with your greiving.
My Condolances to the Families of James "Scotty" Doohan. I had the pleasure of Meeting James in 1984 in Little Rock Ark and will always treasure that memory. May James find the peace these last years with Alzhimers prevented him from enjoying with those he loved.Farewell and God Bless "warpspeed"
Star Trek is my favorite series ever!!! James Doohan made a perfect engineer. My prayers go out to his family, friends and the cast of the series!
I would like to thank Mr. Doohan, as a hero, for his sacrifices in bringing freedom to Europe and for the entertainment and lessons taught to us through the characters he palyed. Ne Oublie
Mr. Doohan encouraged me to be a science teadcher. RB Felty
My favorite Scotty episode was on TNG when an empty shuttlecraft is found with the transporter rigged into a loop. The crew activates it and out pops Mr. Scott after 75 years. He soon discovers he is in the way on the new Enterprise and is given a new runabout to continue on his journey. Enjoy your continuing mission, Scotty! We will miss you!!
Mr. Doohan's contribution to the Star Trek franchise and Sci-Fi genre has been immense. Not only did he create a loyal base of fans but he turned more than one generation’s eyes towards the heavens in search of the unknown. Godspeed Scotty.
He was a good man, devoid of ego and full of kindness. A true gentleman. He will be missed.
I met Mr. Doohan when he came to
Lehigh Univ. for a lecture back around 1990.
He seemed like a nice guy. You would have thought of him to be a family uncle rather than a celeb the way he presented himself. He will be missed.
I am sorry for the his untimely passing.
Beam Me up Scotty! I loved Scotty in Star Trek, He will be missed
Love ya, Scotty
What a great actor and a gentleman. My siblings and I spent many hours as kids watching "Scotty" and then spent many hours in the theater watching the movies as well. My sympathy and prayers to his wife and children, especially to his little 5 year old.
Thank you for all the years of entertainment. You will be missed dearly.
You will live on forever, Mr. Doohan. Thanks for making me smile over the years.
The humanity of Scotty helped so many of us to understand that men of great minds still put their pants on one leg at a time, but it doesn't make them any less great. And that sometimes "defending your honor" is entirely appropriate.
Thanks to Mr. Doohan for acknowledging the thinkers, the readers, those who carry out the orders and make things happen.
so many smiles and laughs from someone i have never met....mr. doohan, thank you for being a happy part of my life.
We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Doohan's passing. We loved him as "Scotty" on Star Trek. He gave much needed comic relief, entertainment as an actor & helped keep our country safe as a WWII veteran. God Bless Him.
My prayers are with James family and friends....James (Scotty) will live on in television and in the hearts of all Star Trek fans...
Thank you James for keeping me going and being a part of my life when I needed it.
Thank you for the memories, you will be missed very much.
"He called the Enterprise a garbage scow!" -- My favorite Scotty line, from "The Trouble with Tribbles" -- after Captain Kirk asked why he threw the first punch in a bar fight with the Klingons.
Thanks for the memories Mr Scott!
To the Doohan family. I am so profoundly sorry for your loss. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for you all.
And, for a man I never had the honor of meeting. As many of the people who have written here today.
Yet, he changed peoples lives.
I can't think of any Star Trek fan, who is female, that never had a crush on Scotty! Scotty could do anything!
Thanks to the media that lets him continue in that vein.
He will be missed by many. And changed us all.
For the last time, Scotty has been beamed. Our time will come, and "Scotty" can beam us all home.
Warp speed, Mr. Scott. Warp speed.
Dear Doohan family and friends. As an actor, you hope that you will be successful and be remembered for that special performance. I bet James didn't have any idea that he would make such an impact back then. I think he succeeded in making others feel hopefull about the future and "giv'n it'll I got" has become part of our culture. Look at how far we have come since the sixties in our exploration of space. I am still waiting for the transporter. He will live on. When he gets to the "REAL" "final frontier", we can all look up and remember him every night when the stars twinkle in the heavens. Thank you for sharing him with us. Peace to you at this time of loss.
A fan of the original "Star Trek" series.
What is striking about Mr. Doohan's legacy is that he gave so much of his professional life, and a great deal of his time away from the cameras, to a vision of a positive future for humanity and the people of the present who were touched by that vision. As time goes by, such lives are increasingly rare. I hope and pray his family find joy and solace and this legacy. All blessing to them, and Godspeed to Mr. Doohan.
Eric, my condolences. I heard about your dad today on the BBC while I was driving home from work. It was a great honor for you to introduce me to him at GenCon when you and I were at WotC together. I remember playing Kirk, Bones, and Mr. Scott with the neighborhood kids way back in '73. I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when it feels like a loss in our own family. Here's to a brave veteran and an excellent entertainer who'll be sorely missed.
You've been beamed up, Scotty. I hope Heaven enjoys you as much as we have.
Our deepest sympathies to family and close friends of James Doohan. He will be missed but we loved him and thank God that he shared his talents with the world.
Cellist Yo Yo Ma has said something to the effect that - what we are here for is to take our gifts and move things along a little bit in a positive way.
With gratitude, appreciation and affection for all the ways James Doohan used his gifts and moved things along during his 85 year journey with all of us.
My heartfelt sympathy goes to the family of James Montgomery Doohan. The man has certainly made The Voyage Home, where I will wager fifty quatloos he has found that there be whales there, too...
Thank you Mr. Doohan for all your talents.
Heartfelt condolences to the Doohan family.
I saw Mr. Doohan at several conventions over the last 30 years and he was always wonderful to talk to. He was my favorite on the series. He is gone, but not forgotten in our home. Thanks for being you.
Roger Martinson & Linda Nash
You have always been a miracle worker with all the lives you have touched.
Steady as she goes, Mr. Scott. Thanks for all the wonderful memories you've given us.
God bless you and your family, may they live long and prosper as you did. Good bye Mr. Scott.
One of the best quotes ever, in TNG, "Every woman has her charms, you just have to look for them." Godspeed.
Thank you for illuminating Mr. Scott with your inner light.
"Scotty" was part of the world's life for all the time that I've been privileged to be here, and I suspect so shall he be for as long as civilization has some form of memory. I do not personally know, but I sincerely hope he is happy with that mark that he carved into bedrock of the world. James, the place you've beamed to will be as happy to have you as we were. Godspeed!
Scotty, may the wind be at your back. Peaceful Journey.
The word is Warp Speed Mr Scott.
Heaven has been enriched and our world is somewhat less with your passing Sir.
beam me up to hevan with ya scotie
You were my reason for watching the show....you were a fine actor, person, and a man of great integrity. Thank you for sharing your life with us. My deepest sympathy to your family. Warp speed hugs to you James....Pat
I would hope your wonderful portrayal of the character we came to know as Scotty gave you a personal gratification while you were living that equaled your fans enjoyment. You'll always live with Star Trek fans and of course Star Trek will last forever!
To the family and friends of Mr. Doohan...best known as "Scotty", we express our deep sympathy for your loss. We had the good fortune of meeting Scotty in person when he made a special appearance at a car show here in Phoenix back around 1987 if memory serves correctly. We were near the end of the line and waited some time to meet him. Our two children were young then and each received a personally autographed picture. I was amazed at how easily he spoke to us and how genuinely friendly he was. To make things even more special, he was most gracious to allow me to take a picture of him with the children. I have not met a lot of celebrities in my life but I was very impressed with the genuine warmth and friendliness he exuded and told many of our pleasant experience. Tho he portrayed a fictional character in outer space and enjoyed Trekkie fame, he was a down to earth guy. No wonder he had so many fans. It is sad to loose such a fine person but he left many of us with some wonderful memories. Thanks Scotty & God Bless.
The Sicard family.
Good-bye Scotty we will miss you. You were a great inspiration for engineers and scientists everywhere!
No better man to spend all those hours and hours growing up with!
We wish you well in your travels Mr. Scott...and may you find peace out there in that final frontier.
Bless you, James Doohan. May all God's riches be yours as He beems you up!
"Second Star to the Right ,then on till Morning"... thank you for going to "Juno Beach "..Peace ..
Never met you, never will, but I tell you this... if, out of the clear blue sky I hear, "If I give her anymore God, she's gonna BLOW!" I will most certainly freak. :-)
You're on your 'final frontier' journey now. God speed. Third star to the right, straight on until morning. :-)
Mr. Scott, we'll miss you & your great wit. Say 'Hello' to Dr. McCoy from all of us. God Bless.
So sorry to hear this - may you voyage on in peace...
God Speed Scotty, this is the final voyage.
YOU HAVE BEEN BEAMED UP TO GOD. I HAVE ENJOYED YOUR WORK.
You'll be greatly missed, James. My hat's off to you.....
Mr. Scott...Scotty...There will be NO Chief Engineer like you. No one can walk in your shoes. May you Command that engine room in Heaven with the same passion as you did on earth! Live Long and Prosper! Your the best! You'll be sadly missed.
There have been many a times in my life were I have been in maximum overdrive and saying to myself, "I'm giving all it I've got, captain." We will miss you forever Scotty!
I see him in my minds eye, and hear that brouge. He could fix everything and anything. My favorite line: The more you over think the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.
Mr. Doohan, the final frontier awaits. You will be missed.
"here's to you lad " warp speed !
Thanks to Mr. Doohan for many years (even if often through repeats) of entertaining us and showing the hoped-for goodness of humans in alien climes.
After growing up with Mr. Scott's timeless lines always being repeated in some way or another, Mr. Doohan will never be forgotten by me, or by millions (on this planet).
rest in peace one of your fans
First of all my condolences to the Doohan family. My thoughts are with you.
Jimmy, I seem to remember you once told me that you might not be able to live up to what they(the fans) see in you.
Looks like you went way beyond that.
To the family of Mr Doohan - Thank you for sharing him with us. His role as Scotty will forever be etched in the memories of a lot of his fans - Know how much wa appreciated him. God be with all of you.
All I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by. Godspeed. Thank you for the memories scotty.
James, well done. And a good citizen to boot!
I'll never forget you, Mr. Doohan. The first time I ever saw a television I was but a wee lad in a far off land. The show was Star Trek, dubbed in spanish, and the away team you had just beamed down was investigating a white rabbit... My life was never the same and, with your passing through the Great Transporter may we all reflect upon the model of dedication you presented as "Scotty". Should you re-materialize again, on this planet or another, may you find your next life long and prosperous.
May you rest in peace amongst the stars and world beyond ours. You brought me alongside on each voyage. May god bless you with wings and wrap them around your family and friends to provide comfort and peace.
god bless you scottie my your goodness shine all over heaven. good nite sweet prince.
I remember watching Scotty and all of the Star Trek characters when I was growing up in Wyoming. The show was already in syndication, but it held my attention nonetheless. I am surprised (but shouldn't be) that James was a veteran of D-day. We grieve with the Doohan family on this day. May God bless and keep you through your grief.
I've been a huge fan of the original Star Trek for almost 20 years now, and it saddens me that Mr. Doohan passed away. Scotty was always my favorite character on the show. God speed, Mr. Doohan.
I am certain, Mr. Doohan, that you never in your wildest dreams expected "Scotty" to be your life's work, but what a joy it was to watch you !!! Godspeed, James Doohan, and many thanks...
As a life long Star Trek fan, you will be missed. You gave so much to the fans, farewell...
Rich with the memories and poor for the loss, my thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
I'll miss you Jimmy. Thank you for your art, characters, conversations and for being yourself. Rest in peace and may God bless you.
To Mr. Doohan's Family,
I'am sorry to hear of his passing.
He was wonderful as Scotty. I was impressed to read about him being a veteran too. May God be with all of you at this difficult time.
With Sincere Sympathy,
Although I was not a big fan of Star Trek and never met Mr. Doohan. I have been friends with his son for many years. My heart felt thoughts go out to him and his family. Rest in Peace James you will be missed.
I met James when I came to Providence years ago at a Star Trek convention. Scotty rest in Peace!
Wish I had met James during his human life on earth. Will always remember "Scotty", and look forward to meeting him someday in another dimension. Wishing the best for his family.
Thank you for your part making Startrek. No other TV series has given me so much pleasure or, I believe, influenced me more for the good. Rest in Peace.
He will be greatly missed. May you be in Gods arms. Lois
my condolences to the Doohan Family
on the sudden passing of
you will be missed but remembered for you courage and humor. May you rest in peace.
Bones and now Scotty... whenever the engine room is brought up on a Star Trek episode or movie, I always think of "the miracle worker", he leaves a great legacy! Qapla' "Mr. Scott", you will be missed...
I'm a big fan of the original series and sorry to see the loss of a great actor. He is now with the good doctor
When I was 12 years old and catching Star Trek in after school reruns. I picked Scotty as my future husband out of the entire Enterprise crew. Scotty had a great sense of humor, was a one-woman man, and could keep his end of a fist-fight up with pride. Good on you mate!
He was a one of a kind a great actor. Going to be missed by all.
I think James Doohan was good person and actor. I know friends who really enjoyed him in his movies. As long as we all remember him he is still standing there with us.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Doohan by chance at the Bellevue Square Banana Republic several years ago. When I told him my sister and I grew up watching reruns of Star Trek, he replied that we were raised right! He was so warm and personable. My thoughts are with his family on their great loss.
God be with you, James Doohan. I saw you at several Star Trek conventions during the 1980's. You were a genuine and sincere human being that always treated the fans with respect. This is why you were admired so much. It is with deepest regret that we all now say for the last time: Beam me up, Scotty!
(To the Doohan family: We, the Star Trek fan family, will miss him greatly. He inspired so many to do great things.)
Thank you for all you did for us. You were a very kind and caring person. We'll miss you!
Thank you James-- yours was always a welcome face on our television screen. May angels lead you into heaven, and may God lead you into the final frontier.
We will miss him since he was great actor on the show...I am in your family prayer for lost love one!
I was fortunate to meet James Doohan at a convention in Minneapolis. He was very warm and sincere, taking time to talk with each person who wanted autographs. He will be greatly missed.
Happy Trails, Mr. Doohan.
I was privileged to share some time with Jimmy on a number of occasions as a convention organizer, as well as on three Star Trek cruises. In addition to creating a memorable character, in person he was always friendly -- and always had a story to share.
May you find peace in the New Frontier you've crossed into!
God has beemed up Scotty for the last time. James was a wonderful man. My prayers are with his family.I loved the original Trek crew...
While I'm very sad to lose Mr. Doohan I note with some awe that the day he chose to leave us is the 36th Anniversary of Mans first walk on the moon. To the day. That's quite a sendoff for a man who I think will always live in Americas thoughts.
Gods Speed Mr. Scott.. May the lord let you fix his warp drive
Scotty - my only reason for watching Star Trek... thank you for your wit and grace under fire! Thanks to the Doohan family for sharing James with millions of fans over the years... James, may you rest in peace. God Bless the Doohan family at this time.
When the first show of Star Trek came on my husband & I watched it and wondered how they could make it look so real. Star Trek and "Scotty" has given us both so much through out the years always wanting more from the crew. There is nothing that can take those wonderful years away from us. James “Scotty” you will be missed but you will be in our hearts for ever.
So saddened to hear of your passing. You'e given all you got now rest in Peace.
The world will sorely miss a great man. Now that he's reached the Final Frontier, he can help the Creator "Give all she's got".
To Mr. Scotty: space the final frontier you are the vorager of the star ship enterprize in my heart.God wants you to beam up now ,you will be missed by youre fans of millions.have a good vorage scotty!!V (may peace be with you )
Thanks for the fond memories!
Forever now trekking with the Stars. God keep you Scotty, he has beamed you up for the last time. A brilliant actor gone to be where no man has gone before.
Thanks for the memories Scotty. You were kind and generous to an aspiring writer when you had the rold of Commander in my first Jason of Star Command scripts.
Thanks for giving us great lines that we recite in our everyday life & for unforgettable performances that we'll never ever forget!
Thank you Scotty for entertaining us for so many years in so many ways. Your death marks the beginning of the fading of my wonderful childhood years. My heartfelt condolences to your family, friends, coworkers and fans.
Mr. Doohan's portrayal of a tenacious, inventive, and courageous "Scotty" inspired a generation of engineers and technicians. He helped shaped our modern age.
Thank you, Mr Doohan. May God bless you.
James' character as Scotty was seminal, in that he played a stalwart engineer with knowledge to burn and a burning desire to do excellent work. The fact that the show was set in a multi-cultural setting helped it reach many millions of people and helped them think of a better future for the planet!
My sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Doohan and thank you for so many wonderful memories!!!
Scotty you THE(man) Star Trek nicknane to me was BEAM ME UP.
You will be greatly missed.
A great man and a great actor. Feels like losing family. Looks like he's officially been beamed up!
You were a joy to grow up with and a fun, safe, male role model for me as a child in a crazy household. I loved the accent and the twinkle in "Scotty's" eye during Star Trek. It has been fun to know that you lived "next door" in Redmond and enjoyed a full life. Thank You. You've done well, rest in peace...
From a Trekkie, an Engineer and a lifelong fan....God Bless and Keep Mr. Doohan and his family....Fair Winds and Following Seas forever.
A wonderful man. I met him at a local convention in Waterloo in the mid-1970s. Ten people showed, but he took the time to talk with us. As a 16 year old kid I was wowed that he addressed us by name (no name tags to cheat with) and was a perfect gentleman. Fifteen years later I showed him a picture of him and a much younger me taken at that convention. The first thing he said was "Waterloo, Iowa."
A gentleman. A gifted actor. A nice person. Thanks, Jimmy!
You've given so many of us the drive to get into this business. I know I enjoyed watching you as a young man. You helped to stimulate my imagination and vision. I am honored to be able to say thank you.
~Your Friend, Tom~
With sincere condonlences to the family and friends of Mr. James Doohan. Mr. Doohan, our Scotty, will always remain a legend for the future generations to come. Scotty was the rock, the saviour, who always kept the star ship Enterprise together for the Captain and crew. Today, Scotty made his final flight as he was beamed up to be with our Lord and Saviour. We will always have fond memories of Mr. Doohan, especially in the Star Trek TV and motion picture series!
To act in such a way that it impacts multiple generations to become better people is to create a legacy that will be cherished by all.
Scotty was always my favorite character in the Star Trek series. Thanks for all the work it took. And, can you beam me up Scotty?
Thank you James for helping me dream the future.
My favorite character. Typical engineer -- under promise, over deliver. A credo to live by. Rest in peace.
And now he's reached the Final Frontier. As one whose mother died of complications from Alzheimer's, my heart goes out to his family. May you rejoice in the memories of the way he used to be!
To the Doohan family, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, I'm a big fan of Star Trek and can even do the Vulcan greeting. I liked all of the characters in the show, but my all time favorite was Scotty.
He will be missed by a lot of people. God Bless all of you and help you get through this difficult time.
As a young Child I grew to admire James as Scotty on Star Trek he had inspired me to become a Engineer for which I am proud of. I work for Sprint I have done things that I would never have thought I could do, and I will always remember you James Doohan for giving me the insight to take another path and be part of the solution not part of the problem. Farewell James.
Seeing your role was the first time I heard the profession of "Engineer". I saw a man with a few personal difficulties, but can always be counted on getting the job done. And now I am an Engineer.
You were also the first man on TV I ever saw wear a kilt. I haven't gotten that far yet.
God Bless You, Mr. Doohan, for storming the Beaches of Normandy in 1944. And God Bless your family in this time of grief.
An amazing life, led by an amazing man!
I feel very fortunate to have heard him speak about his Star Trek experiences at a convention years ago; it is a memory I have never forgotten and never will. He made sure to thank his fans, and to make sure they knew he appreciated them. Thank you James. You will be missed.
Thanks for all the Star Trek memories.
The world is a little less wonderous without James Doohan. Second star on the right and on till morning sir.
Our family wishes to express condolences to the Doohan family for God's ultimate beem up of James Doohan on the aniversary of the first lunar landing.
thank you for many wonderul memories of the star trek show. it was awesome. god bless
Words can't describe the pleasure his performance in Star Trek gave me. I will remember him always. My condolences to his family and hope that his young daughter will remember him.
"She given you all she got Captian". Sir you have given us all you got. Thank you for making our lives richer by doing just that. You were the best, no one can ever take your place, because you are one of a kind. You made us live well and prosper. Thank You
We will miss you and your charming wit Scotty! Special prayers go out to The Doohan Family and to also to thank them for sharing a very special person with the rest of the world. Rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of meeting Scotty a couple of times at sf cons, he was a down to earth, truly nice guy. None of us escape death, I am happy that our time on Earth was coincidental.
Life is too short to achieve everything we want to do. There are better times ahead in a righteous new world
Beam you up, Scotty. Thanks for everything. Have a great voyage.
Without Scotty there was no startrack, he will be dearly missed by the fans around the world.
I'll drink two toasts to your life and legacy, one a scotch the other, something green.
In no small way did you influence more than a generation of us to become Engineers or Scientists of one form or another, I myself Computer Science or naming our sons "Scott". Now farewell as you journey on your eternal "Star Trek".
Your persona and presence reached so many generations through television and films. I will always remember you for the wit and humor you brought to my life while I watched you on Star Trek as a child. Thank you, and many condolences to your family. May the be at peace knowing your gifts to so many...
Thank you, Mr. Doohan, for all the great moments on screen. We all loved you in the Star Trek series, and the movies were fantastic! We still watch them frequently. Having suffered several losses of my own in the past few months, I offer my sincerest condolences to your family and other loved ones. May God grant them peace and comfort.
Words cannot describe how much I have enjoyed Mr. Doohan's work over the course of my 33 years.
I hope that his final frontier is a great ride. Blessings to him and his family.
You will be greatly missed!
To the family of James Doohan:
Would it be so that every family could have one person who has provided so much entertainment for so many people. A legend has left us, but he also has left us some of the best moments of our TV watching lives.
You have our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much Jimmy for all the joy you have given so many for all these decades! You were not only a fine actor, but a fine human being as well, and we will all miss you very much. Deepest sympathy to the family as well. I'm sure that they will still hold him dear for many years to come, as will all of his fans.
WOW! You gave me such great memories of my childhood and that feeling that anything was possible even the impossible. I will never forget you. As one of your best freinds would say. " live long and prosper" cause you know and I know..... there is an afterlife!!!!!!!!!!
I have a picture on the wall of my den of Mr. Doohan and I when he came to the radio station that I worked at back in 1992. It happened to be my 23rd birthday, and Mr. Doohan happily posed for several pictures and he even played along in a radio sketch as Scotty to my horrible impression of Capt. Kirk. Oh how we laughed! What a fond and fantastic memory.
To the Doohan Family,
My sympathies for your loss. James Doohan was a fine actor and a credit to his profession. He brought life to a character beloved by generations and he left a legacy without compare.
He will be never forgotten, and forever missed.
Thanks, Scotty, for firing the imagination of a generation of science fiction fans. And thank you, also, for your service in the cause of freedom in World War II. You will be greatly missed.
God, beam me up!!! From all the "grunts" that make the whole thing work to the man who made the whole thing work!
Thank you for all you were and all you shared. Thank you for the laughs, for the pride, and for the joy. I saw the first episode, and watched every week, and after. You were like an uncle in my young life.
From one engineer to another, you who have inspired me to become what you do on screen, thank you, you may have gone but never forgotten, may you live on in contiuous repeats.
Thoughts and Prayers are with your family. Thank you for a lifetime of Star Trek!!!
Heaven the Final Frontier, So long Mr. Scott there will never be another one like you.
My name is Scott and a lot of my friends are as well. We would always do a banter on the saying's of Scott. I've got to have 45 more minutes' capatin...
Thanks for the humor and enjoyment.
Yes God, give James all the power he needs!
My sincerest and deepest sympathies go out to the Doohan Family. I will always remember Mr. Scott fondly. I had the chance to see him in person at a Convention in Manchester NH back in the 90's. To me, he was larger then life. God's Speed Mr. Scott... Engage!
I am an engineer by trade and I would have so enjoyed working for "Scotty"! James, you will be
deeply missed and never forgotten.
"ALL AHEAD FULL"
Godspeed, Scotty. We'll miss ya.
My condolences and prayers go to the Doohan family.
I will always be greatful for the memories and lessons of Star Trek and the part James played in my youth.
Thanks for all of the memories. You will never be forgotten. My prayers and thoughts will be with the family.
Scotty, you worked wonders down there. You were my favorite and trusted engineer. I always new you would get us through the seemingly impossible. Thanks for being there for all of us. -paul
Tis a sad passing and my heart goes out to the Doohan family.
I will raise a glass of good Irish whiskey and call your name tonite. Time now for james to pass on to that Undiscovered country.
Sincere condolensces on the loss of James. He left a lot of great Star Trek memories.
Thank you, Hero of Juno Beach.God speed Mr.Doohan.I will never forget you.
My sincerest condolences to the Doohan family. My Mom also passed away from Alzheimer's & pneumonia in 1995.
Rest in peace, Scotty.
"Thanks for the memories Scotty." We will miss you and never forget you. Thanks again, Billy Roberson
my sincere condolences to the Doohan family. My dear father dealt with Altzheimers as well as my sainted mother who cared for him. Star Trek was one of the few programs that my dad enjoyed. And I will always think dearly of Jim Doohan as the man who made Star Ship Enterprise withstand the hardships of outer space. God bless you "Scotty"!!!
He was a great actor and a fine gentleman. He will long be remembered and greatly missed.
The world has lost one of it's original cultural icons. Mr. Doohan was the consumate character actor as well as being modest and self-effacing. He never seemed to let stardom go to his head. He will be greatly missed. As the title of Star Trek 6 implies, he has gone on to explore "the Undiscovered Country". Fair winds and smooth sailing, sir.
Funniest memory I had of James Doohan was when in the late 1990s he visited a local Seattle morning radio show (I was working for at the time) to promote his book.
One of the staff asked James to sign an autograph, which he did willingly. The staffperson who got the autograph looked at it... it was a squiggle and "Scotty". The staffer asks James "what's this say, 'Scotty'? (thinking it may have said something like "best wishes -- 'Scotty' or something like that). Doohan recoils as if this guy is the world's biggest idiot, points at his autograph and says "THAT'S my NAME! JAMES DOOHAN!"
Just the way Doohan reacted was something I'll remember for a long time.
I also recall how shocked I was that he actually didn't have the accent his character did.
As an occasional Star Trek viewer you were always the reason that I tuned in. Now you're off to a great adventure on the final frontier. I can only say that you personally enriched my youth and will always be fondly remembered.
My understanding is that you were even a better human being than an actor, and that is really saying something.
Thank you for many many years of wonderful performances and personal kindness.
Although I wasn't around when "Trek" originally aired, many generations like mine have grown up to watch you. May you rest in peace and let many more generations get to watch you.
You were a wonderful actor, and a kind person. Thank you for everything. Ad astra.
I still remember the first time that I met Jimmy @ SeaTac. At the time I didn’t know he lived in the Seattle area, and I had to muster the courage to walk over and ask him if he truly was “Scotty”. He said yes and asked me if I had time to talk with him! Here I am with Jimmy D and he is asking me if I would talk to him! He was the most Human star I have ever met. He actually listened with interest as I told him that I went to college as an engineer because of him. He was just plain good people. He even let my then three year old daughter sit in his lap.
The world was a better place because of him; his role of Scotty, and a HERO of D-Day.
The sadness that we feel as fans compares nothing to the pain of losing a Father, and a Husband. Our thoughts are with you.
Set course for the second star on the right, and straight on ‘til morning!
As we spend our time on this planet we ask ourselves what have we accomplished in that time span. You have sent us into the vogages of the the Starship Enterprise as our friend, hero, and much admired for just being who you are as a friend who we all can have memories for generations to come. Enjoy your journey into the far heavens for you will be deeply missed. May God Bless and keep you.
Raise a glass of scotch,(literally or figuratively),
to the greatest engineer in future history!
The angels are singing and surrounding you with love. Thank you, Scotty.
James - You will always be remembered. I almost became an engineer because of you. Couldn't master the Scottish accent!
What a great joy he had in acting and performing and what a lovely and gracious gentleman. Still hear his voice after all these years
Goodbye, Scotty! Your cheerful contributions in the fantasy world changed lives in the real one....We will always miss you...
Mr. Doohan, Scotty was a wonderful, but fictional, character. I didn't know until today what a *real* hero you were. From the Chicago Tribune, regarding your service in WWII:
At 19, James escaped the turmoil at home by joining the Canadian army, becoming a lieutenant in artillery. He was among the Canadian forces that landed on Juno Beach on D-Day. "The sea was rough," he recalled. "We were more afraid of drowning than the Germans."
The Canadians crossed a minefield laid for tanks; the soldiers weren't heavy enough to detonate the bombs. At 11:30 that night, he was machine-gunned, taking six hits: one that took off his middle right finger (he managed to hide the missing finger on screen), four in his leg and one in the chest. Fortunately the chest bullet was stopped by his silver cigarette case.
I salute you, sir.
Your work gave me a great deal of pleasure, James. Goodbye, old friend.
"Captain, I'm a technician not a magician". Screw it Scotty, beam us all up! Farewell and Thanks.
You were both friend and inspiration. Thank you for all that you have done and I look forward to seeing you again in the great beyond.
I met Mr. Doohan at a convention years ago, and he was a jovial guy. I will miss "Scotty," as any original Star Trek fan will. Goodbye, Jimmy!
God rest you, merry gentleman. Thank you for all the years of fun, adolescence wouldn't have been half so enjoyable without Star Trek, and the Enterprise would have been just a cosmic boat anchor without Scotty to keep it working. Sleep in peace.
Never has there been a more beloved Star Trek Character before or since. He will be missed and there will be others that will try to fill his shoes only to fall way short. You are now in a better place and you won't have to answer to Capt. Kirk any longer. You have finally gone where all men have gone before you. May your journey be a peaceful one and may your family not suffer from your loss but rejoice in your life.
My thoughts are with the Doohan family for their loss. James (Scotty), you were the best.
For a beloved character who always made sure to do his best and make it look like a miracle, thank you for helping to raise several generations.
For those left behind, the happier the memories, the more it hurts to lose. I hope all those happy memories will give you a smile through the tears.
Thank you for all the wonderful shows, you have truly been beamed up.
James and DeForest Kelly were truely the most human members of the Star Trek cast. People we could identify with, cheer for, and look forward to seeing each and every week.
James made people smile, inspired career choices, and gave SciFi fans a reason to finally watch television.
It is always sad to lose someone you know. We're lucky we have video to remind us a casting director made a great choice in picking him for a role that will far outlive him and us.
James, know that you will be missed.
To the family and friends of James Doohan: Our deepest sympathies on your loss. After losing my mother from Alzheimer's Disease, I know how hard and long this goodbye must have been. I was blessed to meet Mr. Doohan at a Star Trek convention in 1990, and found him to be warm and gracious. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
You were the best. You will be missed!
Tell the Captain Upstairs to beam you up.
To the Doohan family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Whenever Scotty came on screen, he always made me smile and his character taught me about underpromising and overdelivering. May your happy memories bring you peace during these difficult days.
Thank you for you inspiration! I met you in Dallas one year. It was one of the most memorable moments in my life. You will be greatly missed, but you will live on in your work and my memory. “The word is given. Warp speed.”
I hope that James Doohan was aware of his impact on the career choices of a generation or two of Star Trek fans. I went to an Engineering school, and I know for a fact that many people there were inspired in part to choose engineering as a career by the character of Scotty.
I had the chance to meet him at a computer trade fair several years ago. He was very generous and personable with all those who wanted a moment with him. A class act all the way.
Rest in peace sir, you will be missed but not forgotten.
James, thank you for all your talent and contributions made to Sci-Fi. You will be remembered and loved always.
To the family of James Doohan, My father died of the very same illness a couple of years ago. I know how you have suffered along with him. My tears are for you and James today. He was a great man and entertainer. He was a gift to us all.
God Bless and Godspeed, Scotty.
Thoughts and prayers to your family. Thank you for many years of Star Trek memories.
To the Doohan family: I was and always have been a big Star Trek fan since I was a kid and along with everyone else will miss him.
Dan P Seese
Those of us who have watched your career for over 40 years were saddened at your long goodbye, and braced as we were for your final departure, it still comes as a shock. Bless you, Mr. Doohan, and I hope that maybe they will listen and take immediate action in that great soundstage in the sky when they hear your voice saying "She can't take much more!" I have a feeling they really need you up there. Safe journey.
Star Trek has held so many wonderful memories for me; "Scotty" will be deeply missed! My condolences and prayers go to the Doohan family.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to the Doohan family. Of all the characters he ever played, Scotty was and still is my favorite. May James' memory live long in our hearts and minds.
Jimmy - You will be missed terribly. I'll never forget being on stage with you for a reinactment of a scene from "The Trouble with Tribbles". You called me Captain. It was an honor! Thanks for sharing your talent, and entertaining us for all these years. May you rest in peace.
Scotty - I know you'll get her going faster - even if you have to get out and push!
I sincerely enjoyed your contribution to ST. The episode of ST:TNG where you were brought out of the transporter was one of my favorites.
Thanks for the memories. you were the best Engineer.
Your reputation as a miracle worker will always be secure. Warp speed, Mr. Scott! You will truly be missed.
James will be missed by so many. One of the best characters on Star Trek and one of the best personalities as a person. My heart goes out to all the family members of James Doohan and wish them well in getting through the loss of a great person.
Star Trek has always portrayed a postive and inspirational view of the future and Jimmy's character was truly one of the pioneers of Star Trek. As Bone's said in Star Trek 2, "he's really not gone, as long as we remember him". And Thanks to syndication and DVD's we'll never forget Jimmy/Scotty.
I discovered Star Trek in 1966 and wanted to grow up to be Scotty. The best day I remember was the day in Reno when I had the adjoining suite at the Flamingo Hilton, and sharing the flight the next day back to Seattle. I don't usually get emotional over the passing of an actor/actress, but I am VERY sad today. I will never forget you.
Thanks for your dry wit. It helped me to deal with my superiors in corporate america.
You were the best engineer ever! Tell Jesus and Allah to play nice... See you later...
The Doohan family,
I just wanted you all to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all Eric,Tom,Wende,Sarah! I can't begin to tell you how special you all are to me and I will cherish the many memories made with all of you for the rest of my life! For four years you(Wende & Jim) were like my own parents and I love you both unconditionally forever. You will all be in my prayers as you have been for years. If you need anything know that I am only a phone call away. (Tom has my #).
Reading the past four pages of this Guest Book has made me realize what an impact as an actor that you had on many people. I just wish that they could have had the opportunity to know you as I did for they would know what a amazing and true inspiration you are not only in your career life but your family life as well. I'm sorry that I wasn't around to say good-bye but I know that I will see you again one day walking down the streets of gold in a higher place. I will cherish the many memories I have with you and your family for ever!! I love you "Dad" and will miss you greatly.
Too often, when a character in a series or movie is effectively portrayed by a superb actor, fans believe they are seeing all there is to the man behind the facade. In the case of James Doohan, we the fans were fortunate to have a man who was even better than the character that made him famous. Generous, humorous and always conscious of the importance of his fans -- no matter how trying they (we) could be at times -- Mr. Doohan always tried to receive his fans graciously and patiently. I am proud to say I had the opportunity to meet him; I wish that I could say I had had the chance to know him. I count him as an inspiration that challenged me to dream, to believe in something, and to try. I will always have a soft spot for Canadians and for dark-haired Scotsmen because of him.
Thank you for sharing your generous spirit and the joy you found in life with us. We're all richer for having the opportunity to watch you - you will most certainly be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Time for God to beam you up. Thank's for the strong and loving character. You will be missed. But we will always have you on celluloid.
I am surprised to learn Mr. Doohan was born in Canada -- I'd have sworn he was a Scotsman. What a wonderful actor! And how good natured of him not to mind being "Scotty" to all of us. Thanks for the memories!
Thanks for the years of entertainment.
Thank you for a wonderful and inspiring character. Meeting you at the Mall of America was something I will always treasure, and noticing your missing finger and you telling the story of how you lost it was entertaining, too! Prayers and good thoughts to your family, until we all meet again.
SCOTTY THANK YOU FOR THE ESCAPE FROM TH REAL WORLD
Thanks for the wonderful memories! May you rest in eternal peace assured that you will never be forgotten by the millions of fans who know your work, and the millions more who will discover it in the future. My deepest sympathies to the Doohan family!
This is a sad day for the Doohan family, and fans of James alike. He was a wonderful actor and a special part of the Star Trek family. He was loved by many, and will be missed by all. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.
To the Doohan Family, our condolences on the passing of your loved one. As an actor his many fans will miss him, but as a human being a father, a husband, brother and friend - he'll be missed more. Thanks for sharing him with us all.
God's blessings upon you during this time of bereavement.
HOW WONDERFUL FOR US, YOUR FANS, TO CONTINUE TO "HAVE YOU" THROUGH TELEVISION RE-RUNS AND OUR MEMORIES...
RESPECTFULLY, KAREN DIORIO
My condolences goes to your family/friends.
I've watched Star Trek ever since I was a little girl with my Dad. I will never forget the shows or the famous saying "Beam me up, Scottie". You'll be missed very much.
From one Scotty to another. The last beam is the best.
You gave us all you've got. Thanks!!
It was the little things he did. Seeing him driving down the road and watching him smile as he caught my eye, going to the Cons and talking with him about our home state of Wa., his guest appearances on local T.V. that kept me riveted, the day he signed my white hat when he came aboard my ship. I can still remember him saying to me, “ Well if it isn’t my neighbor from Seattle!” The sheer glee in his eyes as I took him on a tour is one of the highlights of my Navy carrer. …The little things I will always remember. He touched my life as Scotty but I was blessed to call him my friend.
I will miss you dearly my friend…Someday soon we shall meet again….S~
Thank for the many wonderful memories, Beam me up Scottie will live forever.
James you will be severly missed by all. You were and always will be one of the best actors the world will ever see. We will miss you very much.
"Beam Me Up St. Peter."
You will be greatly missed James. You've always been my favorite over the other cast of the original Trek crew. My deepest condolences with your family.
What a wonderful show to grow up to, and you were such a wonderful character. Thank you!
Thank you James for all the wonderful work you have done over the years. Condolences to Wende and the rest of your family.
What an influence he has been. I only hope that he can now truly go where no one has gone before and see what the Universe really has to offer now that he is free. All my warmest regards to those closest to him.
I have long enjoyed the Star Trek Movies and always enjoyed hearing Capt Kirk say, "Beam me up Scotty!"
Now Scotty has been beamed up to a much more quite and serene place...
My heart felt condolences for his family and friends.....
Thank you for enriching our lives and bringing smiles to all our faces. Scotty was not just a character but a cultural icon.
Condolences to the family and friends of a fine actor who created a character in Scotty that not only entertained but inspired many. You will be missed.
Star Trek was cool. So was Scotty. I will always remember seeing James Doohan at the Lewis & Clark Theater (Seattle area) during one of the premier showings of the new Star Trek Movie in 1979. I didn't know he was going to be there and was pleasantly surprised to see him on stage and having some of his family come up and join him. Scotty is, has been, and always will be an icon representative of Star Trek and science fiction. Fare thee well on your voyage, Scotty!
There will always be one "Scotty" and he was truly beamed aboard God's heavenly throne.
So Long Scotty. Happy travels in this wide universe.
You were just TOPS! Thank you!!!
Mr. Doohan I was a great fan of yours and it is one of my greatest regrets that I never got to meet you in person. I was outside of Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue while you were there, but I was on my way to work and couldn't go inside. You've lived down the street from me for most of my life and I never got the courage to go knock on your door. I will always remember you though, and the person you were. Rest in peace, you were a great man.
Thank you for your life. You've took the sci-fi screen to another level, and raised the bar on character personality. You will be missed. God bless.
I grew up with Star Trek, you and your fellow actors. I still watch re-runs and to this day I really enjoy them. You will be missed, not only by me but by an entire generation.
God bless you and your familey in these tough times you are an incredible actor you will be missed. Know you will be able to see whats out there
May you go beyond where no one has gone before. Godspeed Scotty/James!
To the Doohan Family,
James was one of those great pioneer characters of SciFi tv. I consider Scotty one of my earliest heros and I was truly, truly saddened by his passing. Thank you for sharing him with us.
You have been a wonderful inspiration and I will always remember you fondly. My sympathies to your family and friends.
To the Doohan Family - my sincere sympathy and condolences. The world will miss "Scotty"...may he rest in peace.
We will miss you James. Thanks for all the great Star Trek memories. My condolences to the families and friends of James Doohan. God Bless!
Thanks for the many memories of "Scotty". It was a pleasure to have met you many years ago.
Mr. Doohan brought me many hours of great joy he & DeForrest Kelley were My 2 favorites on the original cast right from the begininng my father who was 46 at the time could never understand his teenage son's fascination with the show StarTrek. Let's face it I was a child of the new space race, my hero's were John Glenn & Alan Shepard. To Paraphrase N.A.S.A. God's speed Mr. Scott. Mayo...
My sympathy to Mr. Doohan's family. Thank you for lending him to all of us Star Trek fans. He will live for all of us as long as the films can be seen.
YOU WILL BE VERY MISSED JAMES. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES ON STAR TREK. BEAM ME UP SCOTTI!

Star Date 20050720
Now your engines have more power than you could imagine!
While I didn't know Mr. Doohan personally, he seemed like one of the family. My deepest condolences to the family - he will definitely be missed.
My condolences to the Doohan family in thier time of sorrow. Met James Doohan at a convention many years ago and he took the time to chat with me for a bit. He was a warm and gracious human being. He will be missed.
I Guess It;s Time For Our Lord and Savior To Beem You Mr.Scott.
God Bless and Thank You FOr All The
Star Trek Memories.
Another Wichita fan paying his last respects. Due to my first name, I was always being kidded by friends asking me to "beam them up". I took it good-naturedly by telling them there was "no intelligent life down here". Well, you are one intelligent and well-liked man. I will miss you.
I HOPE YOUR FINAL VOYAGE IS THE BEST OF ALL. THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES.
I will always have fond memories of you when you came aboard our submarine, USS Los Angeles while we had a port visit in Long Beach. You came across as a down-to-earth guy as you visited with our navigation team while we were submerged. Thanks for the autographed pictures and great time.
Thank you for many wonderful charactorizations in so many different films. My condolences to your family and friends.
What a wonderful actor! His appearances always made Star Trek more fun to watch!
The word is given. Warp speed James.
I had the very good fortune to meet him on a promotional tour at the Video Village in Lexington, KY. He was promoting the Star Trek series being released to VHS and Beta. I remember being quite impressed at what a delightful, gracious gentleman he was. He truly enjoyed the masses who came to greet him. He took the time to speak with each & every one there personally. It was evident that he was not running a production line of autographs. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us. He will certainly be missed!
God Bless you and your family Jimmy.
You are and always will be my favorite Trek character. You left us long before we were every ready to say good-bye.
Of all the Star Trek characters, he was most compassionate and good hearted. Everyone always knew that. He wasn't trying to "get the girl" or go one-up with other characters, he was just GOOD! He was sort of like the "father" of the show and was the one that most reminded me of my own father. You knew when Scottie was around, he would take care of everything and you would be alright!
Scotty, you rocked. Rock on.
Godspeed, Mr Doohan. Thanks for everything.
My condolences to the Doohan Family on the passing of your loved one. James Doohan left a lasting impression on all of us Star Trek fans.
Thanks for everything Mr. Doohan.
This is indeed a sad day for all of us.
May your final destiny be 'where ALL men have gone before you' You are missed and loved. You did this character proud. Something that is your's for eternity.
To the Doohan Family, my condolences on the passing of your loved one.
James, you will forever be remember in the hearts of millions for your portrayal of Montgomery Scott.
This world is now a much emptier place without you in it.
i guess god decided to it was time to say, "scotty, beam me up to you." god bless you on your final journey into space. you will surely be missed by all of your star trek fans & fellow cast members.
you can never be replaced and you will always be an original. Good Luck on your final voyage.
May the Lord welcome a fine actor, whose work we enjoyed from "Bonanza" and other Westerns in th '60's thru all the ST shows/movies. He created a believable and unforgettable character, with unforgettable relationships with the other characters in the ST series.
My prayers for his family are respectully offered, as you cope with his loss. I hope you have many happy memories to comfort you.
Thank you for all the fond memories. I watched Star Trek when I was a kid and enjoyed every minute of it. I hoped you have been beamed to a good place.
My prays go out to his family and children on the lost of James Doohan. For as log as years to come will always remeber and hear Beam Me Up Scotty.
you were so much more then "scotty", although you were most memorable as "scotty". you will be missed.
for all others, please check out www.imdb.com for all his parts.
Heaven has fine man and a wonderful character actor, many ST Fans will miss him very much, so God just beam him up and keep him safe!
My favourite line from Mr. Scott:
"Aye, and if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon!"
Live Long, and Prosper, as your eternal soul is beamed beyond this space/time continuum.
God Speed James Doohan, and thank you for givin' her all she's got.
Thanks for taking us on the "Star Trek" journey with you, James. Without you, it wouldn't have been the same. My friends and I have had a great time on all the adventures in which you played such a part. You and DeForrest have started the final journey - We will miss your presence in this world and look forward to seeing you in the next!
May your dilithium crystals never wear out. And may you nevermore have trouble with tribbles.
You were my favorite Star Trek character. Thanks for the memories.
I grew up enjoying Star Trek throughout my high school and college years. I always was intrigued by Mr. Doohan's career choice in Star Trek. In my early years of college I decided to become an engineer. Though not the same specific discipline as Mr. Doohan's, I felt a parallel to his Star Trek character. I have met him a few times at toy expositions and last in Atlanta, GA. for the Dragon Con 2001. It was always a joy to meet him. There are not a lot of characters from sci-fi film and TV that appeal to me and none so much at "Scotty the engineer". Farewell, you will be missed. Sincerely, your forever fellow "engineer" and fan.
May you have a peaceful journey to the undiscovered country. You will be missed.
I've enjoyed watching you on Star Trek and the misc. Star Trek movies. I've always enjoyed yours and Spocks comorarory.
GREAT ACTOR THANK YOU FOR STAR TREK. GOD BE WITH YOU
One of the few actors i truly loved.
I wish you good vibes on your final journey, James!
I was only three years old when he began as Scotty and I clicked with him in ST when I was six. He was my hero from the very beginning, he always knew the systems inside out and how to fix them. I believe this led to my desire to know how and why things work, and not the least, how to fix them. I loved the warmth and humor he always brought to the character. I may be wrong but I feel there was a lot of Jimmy in 'Scotty'.
Godspeed James Montgomery Doohan.
Keep an eye on heaven's engines!
God bless and rest in peace!
Your fine characterizations brought many a smile to people's faces, what a fine legacy, a smile is remembered forever.
It has been my great pleasure serving on this mission with you...
Farewell to my favorite Star Trek character!
Looks like you have finally been "beemed up" from the hostile planet!
You will surely be missed!
Thank you for being Scotty, - and your many other roles. You are timeless!
You played a great character. One of my favorites. You'll be missed.
You were great in your role of Scotty. As long as people continue to watch Star Trek, you will never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with all of us.
Jimmy Doohan was a wonderful actor and a gentleman. Prior to Star Trek he worked extensively in Canadian radio and television with such notables as Barry Morse, Christopher Plummer, Robert Goulet, and others. His work in show business will be remembered for many, many years to come. Rest in Peace.
It is not often that I count anyone from Hollywood as an influence in my life. Thanks for your portrayal of Engineer Scott as a dedicated problem solver. It was one of the reasons I chose Engineering as my profession. I bet there are generations of Engineers and Scientists who would say the same thing.
May God Bless you, and please rest in piece among the stars you brought to us.
Godspeed James, I will never forget how you were my favorite on the show. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" ( one of my favorite sayings of your's). I dont think anyone ever "fooled" you . You will be missed.
The final frontier awaits...God bless you.
You will be missed. You finally been "beam on Board" for your greatest and final journey.
Luis - "Old School Trekker"
You will be remembered always.
SCOTTY YOU WERE BEAMED UP TO A BETTER PLACE I'M SURE. BUT YOU WILL BE MISSED HERE,I AM ALSO SURE. STAR TREK WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU. YOU PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE. BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. THANKS FOR BEING SCOTTIE.
