I began but could not finish my words of sympathy...perhaps I was making the message too large for this little box...The World so loves you, and The World will work toward finding a way to fill your heart again -- with the happiness that you so deserve.

I was saddened to hear that Mrs. Biden has died. As you try to find some type of closure and reason you will find out that you not alone. A loss is unique as we all react differently. But, as you accept closure, it takes you one step further towards healing. Call to mind the happy memories you shared with her. But, “Do not let your heart be troubled”. (John 14:27) Do not two sparrows sell for a coin of small value? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. You are worth more than many sparrows.”(Matthew 10:29, 31). Therefore, he knows and cares about your sorrow and pain.

When death separates family members, such great loss can result in deep sorrow. How can we cope with bereavement? Our complete reliance on “the God of all comfort” will help us to endure grief, sadness and sorrow. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)
Our Condolence to the family

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those in any sort of tribulation through the comfort with which we ourselves are being comforted by God
1 Corinthians 1:3,4
May the God of comfort, comfort your family now.

I know what it's like to lose your mother, it's heart breaking. I feel lost even now almost 3 years after my mother passed away, on my birthday to boot. I still think "I want to call mom and tell her this." I then realize all I have to do is talk to her because she will hear me from heaven above.
January 19, 2010
May God bless Mrs. Biden and hold her close to Him and keep her in his loving light for all eternity. It must be such a comfort to have had her for so long in your life. The Irish and the Catholic Church had a strong hold on her and with her wonderful personality she was precious to Him.

My prayers are with you. You have had so much grief in your life I hope you will feel comfort your mother meant so much to you and you meant so much to her. You can plainly see how proud she was of you. You were a good son Joe the kind any mother would want. Stay strong. With love and comfort, Cricket Brown

Dear Vice-President Biden:

Of such strong values your character was shaped.

Your mother has gone through the paradox called "death" - the portal into the eternal life stream. It is God's will that humankind express his attributes on earth, but when the vehicle for our Spirit-Soul fails to serve us in a more significant way, the paradoxical tool called death is there for us to utilize, for us to shed this manifest body and free the Soul so that it is free, unencumbered, with no chains to bind her.

You loved her in life, so continue to love her in "death." For she has become a part of all there is - God's Omnipresent Life. She is as close as a warm summer breeze as it kisses your cheek, or the cool rush of winter's snow, the tapestry of Autumn, and the Spring flowers as they erupt to signal another cycle of Life has come and gone in Infinity.

You were blessed to have her and share her for a little while when it is dropped against the timeline of eternity.

For Jean...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Dear Mr.Vice President and family. It sounds as though you had a mom much like mine. Warm, lovable, perservering, great sense of integrity. Not like most people look at their mom's, and those that do wait until it is to late. She seems to have had the Qualities that my mom had, most of all love for her Son that would someday become Vice-President. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief. Although it is a time you must grieve, It is easier if you remember the most simple remarkable things you shared. For me that was when my mom and I would get a Pepsi and salty peanuts, and as you poured them in the bottle the carbination caused the salt to fizz off. It is those simple little things that will help you each day. And you being in the position that you are in (Vice President) you can walk the halls of the White House when you have a major dicision to make, she will be right there with you. Good luck, lots of love and plenty of thoughts of you and your family in my Prayers!

Ecclesiates 3:16

To every thing there is a season, and
for every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die...
A time to weep, and a time to laugh
A time to mourn, and a time to dance
A time to get, and a time to lose...

She's gone away to better lands
Somewhere beyond the blue
She'll venture safely through.
The sea of destiny is large,
Yet each must cross some day.
Our eyes are not down cast in tears
Through she has gone away;
But rather they are open wide
With gladness in our heart;
For we shall meet again somewhere
Though now we have to part
And guided by her Master's hand

To Vice President Biden and Family,

In times like these, my Mother would always remind my Bothers and Me about the 23rd Psalm.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Sincerely,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Mr. Biden,
Our Catholic faith teaches us that this a day of joy for your mom because she is in Our Father's loving arms. I am sure she had a lot to say to Him. I'm guessing that one of her requests would be to watch over you and your family. It just really hurts when the one person that you want to hug the most is the one that has gone. God bless her and God bless you. Deepest sympathies - Denise Jarzen

Vice President Biden and family,

I have two sons, and all Mom's share a universal commonality... We live for our children, and experience great pride and happiness in their successes.

Jean experienced amazing pride in her lifetime. She witnessed the inauguration of her son into a historical position in government. My condolences go to the family, but as for Jean, she knows she did a great job in raising her family. She passed with a great deal of dignity, and I'm certain she's smiling down on her family right now. Her dreams have been realized! She's in a good place. God Bless.

WOW- What a special lady you had for a mother! I am so sorry for your loss, and will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers!

My mother too was a great mom- she also taught me to defend myself in a kind way. When I see some people's moms, I feel especially blessed that God chose her to be my mother. I have tried to pass those wonderful qualities on to my own fouru children.

I miss her daily still, even though God called her home seven years ago! I loved the "nuts and bolts" cuff link story!

A pastor friend of ours gave me wonderful advice when my Dad passed away almost 20 years ago- he said "Say your goodbye's however YOU need to say them, no matter what anyone else says or thinks!" I think that's the best advice he could have given me, so I've shared it with many people after they have lost a loved one. I urge each of you in the family to take the time to do that!

God's blessings-

Anytime you hear of or meet someone who's made it to the "Double Bonus Round," you just know there were great stories told, great advice given (whether it was taken or not!) and a great sense of history, just being in the presence of someone who's seen so much. My own grandmother left us in her 92nd year, and what an experience it was to reflect on her life--I can just imagine the stories your family is telling and sharing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire House of Biden. We appreciate you introducing us to this fine and feisty lady, and know that all the memories you have will comfort you during this time of transition.

May God bless and keep you.

I know both of these women lived wonderful lives and loved their families very much. They both will surely be missed.

Dear Vice-President Biden and Family-

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of you beloved Mother. I lost my precious Mom on Oct. 19,2009 at the age of 96, but no matter how long we have our parents, it is never enough time. Like your Mom, mine was the backbone of our wonderful family and we miss her terribly. They are at peace now and with their mates.

How proud your Mom was to see her son become Vice President. Her joy was evident.

God bless you and your family at this sad time, and please know that all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely

To Joe Biden and family,

My mother passed away at 99, and I know she was so proud of the person I had become, the values I held, and the achievements I had accomplished. As your mother did, my mom knew in her heart how much she had to do with everything I'd become.

Your mother lived into her 90's as well, and contributed a great deal to you and the rest of your family. She sounds like she was the best mom, and you showed her how much you treasured her.

I am glad that she was in the audience on January 20, 2008 to watch her son sworn in as Vice-President of the United States of America. What pride she must have felt that day, and every day she lived as your mother.

My best wishes to you and your family, for your remaining life to be filled with memories of Jean.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Vice President Biden,

I know how difficult a time this is for you. I share your loss. My Mother died in February, 2009 and it is still a devastating loss for me. Like you I had my Mother in my life a very long time. She lived to 94; and your Mom saw you go on to great achievements. I'm sure she was incredibly proud of her son.

What a sense of humor your beloved mother (Jean Biden) had. I had a good laugh reading your comments of your mother in your younger years, sort of reminded me of mine with the tough guys!

Our sympathies to you and your family. Nothing knocks the "props" out from under us as when a mother dies and leaves us on our own to not have that one to go to for anything we may be in need of no matter how small. Thankful we have those "precious memories" we rely on and are before us at all times.
You have the blessed assurance of seeing her again. May God comfort you during this time.

Mr Vice President,
Your mom indeed represented the American Creed in nobody is better than others and we are equal. Her raising was certainly instilled in you as I am so proud to have you as our Vice President. My heart goes out to you and your family today in the loss of a great lady. Just keep the great memories in your heart and continue to let her life lessons and values that she instilled in your life to be your guide. She is right, God puts no more crosses than you can bear in your life. Trust in God and he will help ease the pain. May God bless.

To the Biden family I would like to express my condolences, I have found the bible to be a wonderful source of encouragement; the scripture I would like to share with you is from Rev 21:3, 4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

To Vice President Joseph Biden and Family: I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing. But know that she is resting in peace now. God never intends for us to understand what He does, but rather trust him. I know that there will be some difficult days that lie ahead, but just walk on by faith. It seems when we lose our parents (I have lost both), it leaves a void. But just remember, God is a Rock, a Hope of Salvation, and a strong Deliverer, in whom you can put your Trust. For now, it is good night over here, good morning over there. Know that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal. I am praying for you and your family. I offer my deepest sympathy. It appears Jean is loved & respected by many. This scripture may provide encouragement about the future, “Let her flesh become fresher than in youth; let her return to the days of her youthful vigor.”—JOB 33:25. Never was it God’s purpose for human lives to be taken away, and soon we will see Ms. Biden resurrected, and return to her youthful way. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, prayer to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. Your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of Life. The Bible assures us God "is healing the broken hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spot." Psalm 147:3

This Country has lost a cherished member of our American family, with the passing of Jean Biden. A part of the greatness of this Nation has always been it's ability, to produce grounded, not afraid of tomorrow, God fearing members.

Luckily for America, Jean Biden was one such member. This Nation's greatest long term loss is that we will no longer personally experience her strength of character, love of good ole fashion hard work and straight forward thinking about the equal quality, of all Americans.

Best we all remember that for as long as Jean's memory lives with us, Jean will be their guiding those of us who remain, with gentel whispers into the Almighty's ear, asking Him to restore this Nation's compasionate dignity and moral might, through the daily work of her greatful and loving son, Joe.
January 09, 2010
Vice President Biden and family,
My sincere sympathy to you in your loss.
May God's grace bring you comfort.

To Vice President, Dr. Biden & Family
Vice President Biden - I have been deeply moved by the wisdom of your mother as you shared her special gifts with us. Your mother faced the trials and challenges of life head on, without reservation and instilled strong values in you. May You Be Comforted By Your Memories of This Special Lady and know that as your Angel, she will continue to guide you.
January 09, 2010
Dear Mr. Vice President Biden - I got to know your mother through a son's loving eyes. Your obvious respect, love and admiration for her was inspirational. So many of today's youth don't have respect for adults. She reminded me of my mother. Born the same year as yours, made of the same strong fabric, but she left us over ten years sooner. God blessed you with a special mother and He'll keep her in loving arms until you're all together again. I've admired you for years and, of course, voted for you. You and your family are in my prayers.
January 09, 2010
Thank God for the long life he gave you with a loving mother. You are blessed
January 09, 2010
Considering all the compromises that the world is going through at this present time, how everything seems to be changing, there is nothing more precious than the uncompromising, never changing love of a mother. This nation only hopes to obtain such a sense of value and purpose in knowing that no matter what changes around us, we will stand by the principals that gave us such a great destiny in being who we are today. It is obvious through your own words that your mother taught values that cannot be legislated through law, for they came through a sacrificial heart, full of love. Take up the Cross that she carried, she has already assured you that it will not be more than you can bear. She knew the One true God who carried it before her and she also knew she never carried it alone. May the peace that passes all understanding envelope you today and in the days to come.
January 09, 2010
I did not know your Mother, but she raised a good son.I know that she had to be proud.When you find yourself questioning your own judgement, ask yourself what your Mama would do.And follow that path.Mothers don`t know everything,but they know the Important things.

To Vice President Joseph Biden and Family:

Lord, it belongs not to my care
Whether I die or live;
To love and serve Thee is my share,
And this Thy grace must give.

If life be long, I will be glad,
That I may long obey;
If short, yet why should I be sad
To soar to endless day?

Christ leads us through no darker rooms
Than He went through before;
He that unto God's kingdom comes
Must enter by this door.

Come, Lord, when grace has made me meet
Thy blessed face to see;
For if Thy work on earth be sweet
What will Thy glory be!

My knowledge of that life is small,
The eye of faith is dim;
But 'tis enough that Christ knows all,
And I shall be with Him.

Richard Baxter, 1681

Praying that the Lord
will comfort you with
His Peace
Surround you in
His Love
and encourage you with
His Presence.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

January 08, 2010
Vice-President,
You are not alone in your grief. You and your family are in my prayers at this very difficult time. My mother passed away on August 15, the Feast Day of the Assumption. Although I know the pain you are feeling, I know there is comfort in the memories I shared with my mother. From what I read about your mother, you must have some great memories and amusing stories to cherish. Our faith is what will get us through the sad days ahead – the Mother’s Day and other days set aside for honoring our mothers. At another moment of grief, I read your mother said this to you – “God sends no cross that you cannot bear.” Our mothers raised us to be strong and that is what will carry us through the day.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual Light shine upon her; may her soul and all souls, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen and Amen.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Vice President Biden and Family
My deepest sympathies for the loss of your mother, grandmother and I am sure one of your closest and dearest friends. I voted for you in the 1992 Presidential Primary and when you spoke of your mother at the 2008 Democrat convention I saw the very reasons that you have always been my favorite politician. Your mom was like my grandmother; a self made woman for her time and a fighter through and through for equality for all.
Deepest sympathies,

My thoughts and prayer are with the family in their time of grief. At times like these, drawing close to God in prayer is what will "sustain you."
(Psalm 55:22) I hope this will bring the family a measure of comfort.
