May God Bless u Jeff. You were a great man and fantastic musician.
I remember when I was an adolescent, there was this interview of him answering to a question about what guitar and gear he was using, because his sound was just great. and he laughed and answered that his guitar was just the cheapest Fender made in Japan, that he tried it, and just felt comfortable with it. Zappa was right : tone is in the fingers. I loved his playing and personality, and to me such real artists achieve immortality.
Your voice was the same as listening to angels singing. We lost a great man.Your music was so comforting and and a joy to listen to,I still can't believe you were called home so soon, you will always be deeply missed.I have always been your greatest fan and always will.

WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

May your sweet memories comfort Ms. Healey, Rachel, Derek, your sisters and parents. Your legacy lives forever. Love you and miss you, Mr. Jeff Healey, my hero.
I was so shocked to hear of Jeff's passing, it just broke my heart... as I'm sure it did many hearts. I've always said that I wanted to go see Jeff play at his bar and hopefully get a chance of a lifetime in singing along side him. It just goes to show that you can't hold back on your dreams. I should have went when I was in Toronto for the Film Festival One X One this past summer. Now I look forward to seeing those beautiful Angel Eyes in heaven.
My condolences to his wife, children and family.

WOW what a SHOCK! I fell in love with Jeff when I seen him in ROADHOUSE. Everyone thought Patrick was the star to me it was Jeff. He was so gifted and so talented and sexy all rolled into one. I myself am going thru the same thing with my son whom is also a guitarist. Angel eyes still grabs my heart....I am just happy that he had such a beautiful wife, children and parents whom gave him a healthy happy normal life. I HOPE YOU WILL SING TO ME IN Heaven Jeff because you are the one with the Angel Eyes!
There really isn't any words that can express what Jeff meant to so many people both young and old. He will certainly be remembered for always.

We will always think of you Jeff and thank you for our wedding song "Angel Eyes".
I was devistated to hear the news of Jeff Healey's passing. I saw Jeff for the first time at a concert in Ottawa at the Exhibition (Civic Centre). I was truly amazed while watching him play the guitar and sing his tunes. He is an amazing performer and what I call a musical genius. My prayers go out to his wife and children. I love the way he would answer all of his fan mail individually - his assistant would type in the responses, but they were his words.
I am honoured to have had the opportunity to see him in concert and have most of his music to carry on the legend.
What a great inspiration Jeff is to us all, his music his short life, shall remind every artist what we are capable of!
I'm truly sorry to hear about his passing he will be missed by me and many other fans.
"may his angel eyes alway shine our way."

To the Family,
I saw Jeff in Edmonton, AB and he was so amazing. I thought about how Blessed he was with this gift he had been given. Even then I believed his musical abilities were heaven sent. He may have lost his eyesight but what he received as a result was of a much higher calling. I hope Jeff and Stevie Ray are now able to give a truly awesome concert in the great beyond.
Rest easy and long now that the pain is gone.
Jeff was such an ispiration to us all....it was my sons first concert at 10(hes now 22)... we loved him going to many of his concerts/ watching his video dvds, and traveling as far as tremblant & toronto just to watch him play & hear his marvelous voice. Our hearts are with all who love Jeff, & we pray for a peace for his family, especially now knowing that he has been made whole by the Bandmaster of all the universe! May his memories live forever as his Spirit soars.
A true music person, amazing ears and a deep soul.
I'm still singing "Angel Eyes" to my wife, thank you Jeff for making all our lives more meaningful and enjoyable.
I am so very sadden about your loss and for everyone close to Jeff. I met him in March 1999, as he played in a bar I worked in and was kind enough to play for us. He signed My movie with Patrick Swayze (Roadhouse) which Patrick also is now ill with cancer as well. My mom's maiden name was Angel and she is my guardian angel, like Jeff is now to his beautiful wife and children and he will be there with them forever. He was so very talented and blew me away with his talent, and know he will be there for us all with his music forever and will be sadly missed in person. With the utmost sincere sympathy and my thoughts and prayers are for you at this time. God Bless
Your music will live on forever. My prayers are with your family.
Thoughts and prayers are with Jeff's family and friends at this sad time. He had a phenomenal voice and such a great presence on stage. May he rest in peace.
A true pioneer in guitar style and sound. His musical talent and raspy voice will live forever. My sincere condolences to the family and worldwide music industry. You will be missed.
He is singing and playing a new song now, in the presence of the Lord he can see all the splendor of heaven and has no pain. I hope my dad who also died of cancer was there to greet him. God Bless you and grant you peace.
His music is his SINGNATURE on life,
and it will last FOREVER.
My condolences go out to his family.
With our deepest sympathy's to the family. He was a good man and a great artist
I am so shocked to hear the news. The genius who wrote the most perfect song, "Angel Eyes," which describes me finding the love of my life, (now 9 years later!!) has gone from singning about Angel Eyes to looking into them with the brightest and greatest vision that we all have yet to experience.
Thank you, Jeff, for your unbending determination to rise above your cancer and blindness and entertain and touch those of us who will always enjoy your music. I will miss you. I will always hold you in my heart when I hear your sweet voice singing.
If I may adjust the lyrics to personalize this note, I'd like to write:
"... so tonight we'll ask/the stars above/how did we ever earn your love..."
You loved us enough to want to entertain us. Thank you. Your heart and talent is missed. My prayer is that God will show your surviving family His love and care as He has mine in these situations.
My guitar is "gently weeping" and quiet tonight in memory of you.
Love to all your family and fans.
Ft. Worth, TX
The best guitarist in Canada I'll sure miss your music. Good Journey.
Heaven needed another player in the band. May the Lord comfort your family.
One of my heros, once again, has passed to play on. It was a great treat to stand side stage at the Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute, to witness God's true greatness. Jeff will be missed by all that truly love and understand the blues and jazz music.

I was introduced to Jeff Healey's music by another guitar player friend of mine. As we watched a film of one of his concerts I remember thinking about what a rare and one of a kind performer he was. It is now that I hope he finds sweet peace and music as beautiful as what he left behind. I offer prayers of comfort for his family in the shadows of their grief. I also light a candle for Jeff.
Music, when soft voices die
Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the belovèd's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Deepest sympathies to his family and love ones
My heart goes out to Jeff's Family. Approximately 16 years ago we were all in a neighborhood bar, in Etobicoke (where Jeff grew up as well) called Papa Bears - they had karaoke and the place was always jammed. To all of our surprise Jeff Healey walks in with a bunch of friends on a casual Friday night and the place went WILD!! He and his friends got up and performed an impromptu karaoke version of The Weight (TAKE A LOAD OFF FANNY) - and the place was going crazy. I, myself sang a terrible rendition of an Elton John song and when I walked over to Jeff's table to meet him ... he made me speak a few more lines and then said to me "YOU SANG TONIGHT - ... IT WAS "DONT GO BREAKING MY HEART" - the entire table laughed and I was shocked and amazed!! It was the greatest memory of which all of my friends remember so clearly. Jeff was the funniest, sweetest person with the voice of an ANGEL! Heaven will be honored to have him. GOD BLESS
I was lucky to meet Jeff 14 years ago, during the making of a documentary about sudden sight loss. In fact, I was the one with the sudden loss of sight. Jeff was a tremendous inspiration to me, showing by example that life was not over; in fact it was a new beginning.
Jeff was kind enough to jam on the guitar with me. We stayed in touch through the years and I would see him backstage at various performances.
Jeff’s music will live on forever and so will the memories of a kind and generous man who touched so many lives.
A rare and gifted person who's music is a living legacy. Sing and play with the angels.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. His music legacy lives on. God bless you all!
THE FIRST TIME THAT I NOTICED THIS FINE, TALENTED MUSICIAN WAS IN A MOVIE WITH PATRICK SWAYZE, ROADHOUSE, I BELIEVE AND WHAT AN IMPRESSION HE LEFT ON ME! HE WAS SO PERSONABLE AND LIKEABLE AS WELL AS GIFTED. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE WAS. I'LL CERTAINLY HAVE TO DOWNLOAD HIS MUSIC AS I DO RECALL ENJOYING HIM AND HIS PLAYING IN THAT MOVIE AND THINKING, "I LIKE HIS STYLE" AND "WHO IS HE"? HIS LEGACY WILL BE AN INSPIRATION TO MANY MUSIC ENTHUSIASTS, I'M SURE. ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO, LIKE JEFF, HAVE BEEN FACED WITH THE CHALLANGES OF BEING BLIND OR EVEN HEARING IMPAIRMENT. THERE IS ALWAYS A HIDDEN TALENT THAT IS THRUST TO THE FOREFRONT. JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE BEEN DEALT A BLOW IN LIFE, IT SURFACES. ALL THAT A PERSON HAS TO DO IS ASPIRE TO IT AND CULTIVATE IT AND THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE OF HIM!
Yes indeed! We did lose a GREAT MUSICIAN, and a GREAT BAND. Always Remember, always what Jeff has left all of us.
GREAT MEMORIES, AND VERY FANSTASTIC MUSIC. I never got to see Jeff in concert, my loss, I wish I could have.
Jeff's music will always be with us. For those he left behind I am truly very sorry for your loss.
YOU MAY NOT BE WITH US ANY MORE, BUT YOU AND YOUR MUSIC WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. Thank you for all of those great songs.
Jeff Healey is the Lion. He represents courage, strength and the many triumphs he has had through all the years. I use him as an example for my own son who has challenges as well. Music is becoming his gift. An idea given to me by reading about Jeff Healey. Thank you. My prayers are with all of Jeff Healey's Family and Friends.
This indeed was some very sad news. He was way too young to leave us. I met and played on stage with Jeff many years ago in Dover NH. He was a great guitarist and an outstanding man. I remember him being very personable, thoughtful and funny. Jeff will surely be missed by all of us who loved him for his great musical abilities and for his kindness. I am sure Jeff is in a better place. His music will live on forever and I'd like to thank him for that. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for the pointers you gave me awhile back. I'll never forget the jam session and will always keep the tapes closed, I promis. Good by my friend.
My deepest condolences to Jeff's family. To those who met him.You are special to have your own memories of him. We all know he is playing guitar in heaven
I really feel sorry for this loss. I like his music and Angel Eyes is and will be on my list of favorite songs. Jeff, thanks for the music.
Your in my thoughts and prayers,
Jeff was a VERY TALENTED ARTIST.
he will be greatly missed.
God bless and help you through this time of sorrow
Jeff has the gift of emotional genious (as well as other talents, of course). That is rare even among musical artists. He emanates deep emotions in his music that would have groupies and librarians mud-wrestling for just a closer seat to his. He enriched the world very much, and in the end that's the gauge we will all look at to justify our existence.
To his family, my deepest sympathies but also my envy. It seems from reading all these entries that he was not only an emotional genious in his art, but a great person.
he was one of the great rock stars of this time.his best preformance came when he did a small part in the movie road house, that stared patrick swaize and ben gazzara.may he R.I.P.
another great talent has been taken from this world much too soon may you rest in peace mr jeff healey god bless you and your family
The world is always lesser for the loss of its Heros. God forgive me for complaining for no reason, for saying I can't when you know I can. You know what you are doing, so I will try not to complain, say how broken hearted I am for taking your Jeff so soon. We were not ready. I pray that you will console his loved ones and gift them with peace and wonderful memories till they meet again. Just an incredible person with a talent that I am proud lived in Canada.

I was so saddened by the loss of Jeff. His music and his energy in the face of adversity always seemed to inspire me. I saw him live at the Silver Bullet in Columbia, Missouri 8 years or so ago. I was spellbound watching this man play from his heart and I just couldn't take my eyes off of him watching him perform. Very very talented. And I will be sad for a long time missing him and any new music that might have been coming our way.
Jeff was a consumate professional to work with and one heck of a musician. "Angel Eyes" was playing in the grocery store when I went shopping today. Condolences to his family, friends and fans - we will miss you.
I met my husband when he ask me to dance at a friends party. The song we danced to was "Angel Eyes". This was also the song that we danced too as our first song at our wedding. God bless your family, band members and please know that your memory and music will live forever.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see Jeff and the band "Live" but enjoy their music. Hope to meet you on the other side. R.I.P.

Your playing with the rest of the greats now Jeff.
I had heard Jeff's music but I had never seen him until the movie Roadhouse came out. He cracked me up when he said and the name is Dalton. The way he said it and that look he gave was priceless. What a talent, what a star, what an example of a beautiful human being. My sympathy to you and your children Mrs. Healey. Stay strong for those kids and remember his life... not the last moments of it. With Respect.... Tess Luttrell
My deepest condolescences to the Healey family and to his close friends.
Jeff taught me a so much about the blues and because of him I became who I am today.
When I was getting married I wanted to sing Angel Eyes to my wife to be, but how could I ever compare my singing to that of Jeff, I would ruin the song. I instead let the DJ play Jeff's Angel Eyes, and I'm glad I did!
An inspiration to us all, you now have people to play with in heaven: Oscar Peterson, Joe Pass, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and John Lee Hooker. Heaven has never sounded better then now!
Love you man!
I'll miss you Jeff.
Can you see the Light and your version of 'While my Guitar gently weeps' never failed to lift my spirits.

Jeff Healey has been a constant and delightful presence in my life for many years now, and shall continue to be -- as his music loses none of its mastery and amusement, and the thought of him loses none of its quiet pleasure. My greatest thanks to his wife and children and friends for having shared him with us for so long, and into the future. May he rest in peace and live forever.

Jeff Healey & The Jazz Wizards played to a sold out audience in Goderich on Feb 2-2008. Although he was noticeably not well, he pushed on and gave us a fantastic performance that will remain with us forever. We should all be so inspired to live our lives like Jeff. Condolences to the Healey family.
I am so saddened by the loss of such a great Canadian talent, Mr. Jeff Healey. A gifted musician, I loved everything about his sound. Everything I've ever heard or read about Jeff speaks of a genuine, humble, funny & sweet man. (I have to say ... a good lookin' guy too!) His obvious legacy of music is only equalled by his life of strength & courage... I think Jeff could "See The Light" much more than alot of people content to live in the dark. My thoughts & prayers are with his wife & children, may they find peace & comfort in knowing how much everyone loved him. He will continue to inspire through his music.
I was very saddened to hear of Mr. Healey's passing. His music has had a profound effect on my life. From being inspired to learn guitar to falling in love with my high school sweetheart (now husband)over many hours of listening to "See THe Light". I have always admired and respected the amazing music that Jeff created. It will live on and inspire others. Canada has truly lost one of it's musical heros. Rest In Peace!!
Our deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Healey family! He will forever be playing in heaven and watching down on all of you.
Jeff..I loved you in Roadhouse. You were so awesome and I loved your voice. You will be sadly missed my friend.
My condolences to the family. I just lost my son- age 31- unexpectantly, due to juvenile diabetes on Jan. 29, 2008. I know your pain. My son, Nathan Smith III, loved the blues and really liked Jeff's music. I loved his music also. Angel Eyes was always one of my favorite songs. I am sure they have already met each other in Heaven. They are healed now. Jeff can see and is cancer free and Nathan doesn't have to take insulin injections everyday and can eat anything he wants. One day we will all be together and there will be no sickness, pain, sorrow or parting. I yearn for that day. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless the Family. With deepest sympathy.
We met Christopher & Anindita in St.Lucia, stood up for them at their wedding and learned about jazz and Jeff. He was remarkable and great to hear. We are so sorry for your loss. May God be with you all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
You Are Inspiration To All those who Love to Play Guitar.

A great ambassador of music is gone
My deepest sympathies
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
Ruth Ann Mahaffey (author)

Jeff Healey was a true inspiration and I feel deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He rose above the hand he was dealt to become an incredible musician. May God bless his family and his precious little boy who is the spitting image of him.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
i had the honour and pleasure of seeing him live..despite his disability,he gave one of the best shows i had ever seen.......he rocked,he talked to the audience,he told stories[like the Springteen could],and when Jeff was talking ,no fans were screaming or hollering...we were ALL listening to what he had to say...my only wish was to see him again, but he will never begone as he gave us a lifetime memory from a 1 1/2 hr show.Thank you Jeff!!....and god bless!
Sweet Beautiful Angel, he was and remains so in our hearts. A truly inspiring human to learn from. He has joined that Amazing Heavenly Band, all those who were taken from us too soon. chunk of my heart is gone! my special friend Jeff whom I toured around Montreal with and Tom Stephen, went to Charly's house and Jeff asked me what music I would like to listen to, I said Louis Armstrong, What A Wonderful World -he said great thats his favorite, he gave me his first 45 vinyl of See the light, ....My condolences to all the family, the band and also to Tom Stephen, you two were quite the pair ! Amen Mary Ann Taylor from Lachine R.I.P Jeff, sincerely my special friend.....
Why do the good die young? We always ask, but my answer to this question is that God Almighty has a purpose in mind to bring this talented spirit of a human being back again to life everlasting, to let our ears hear his majic yet again, but forever this time. The wonderful thing about the human memory is the music we hear and never forget.
Interesting to note is how music HEALS our souls, and this Healing could not only be found in his name, but he touched and healed many in life through who he was, and through his music. If music be the breath of life play on........
I am deeply sorrowed for the sudden loss of Jeff Healy. I have missed him performing. God Bless all that have lost such a great "ICON"

May he play like he has never played in heaven and may he know how many lives he has touched. We will never forget you Jeff, thanks for sharing the gift of your life and your music. What a GIFT it was!

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
We've lost a great musician, but he will remain in our hearts. I've been to many of Jeff's concerts and was able to speak with him a few times. It was a great pleasure. He was very kind and considerate. "See the light!"
I have enjoyed Jeff's work since I was about 10 years old (I am now almost 31). His music was the soundtrack for most of my growing up years. My mom loved him too, so he really appealed to every generation. I always loved the tone of his voice, and how he could literally make the guitar weep. Sadly, I never had the chance to see him perform live, and like many people, thought I would have many more years to do so.
I would like to offer my deepest condolences to his wife, his daughter and son, and his extended family. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that many other people have been touched by Jeff's life and untimely passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care.
Gonna Miss this Guy. He was an icon in Canadian music back in "my" day as a teen and even later. Loved his music and did his tunes often at Karayoke
Rest in Peace Jeff!
Jeff, you were an amazing musician. Even though you did so much in your life to bring happiness to the world, it was much to short. It is truly a great loss. My condolences and deepest sympathy to your family.
Jeff's music has always touched my heart. His music will always live on. My prayers are with his family right now.
To Jeff's family and friends from Jane and her crew at Brookside Grill in Brewer Maine.I have not gone ,My souls not died,Tis only my vessel I've left behind,I am here by your side and the eagle in the sky.Written by Jane Worcester aka Poo.Thinking of you during your grief and how lucky you were to have had him in your lives.
Its truly a sad day for all of us. I would like to send my deepest condolences to all who shared a piece of this great man's life. His music touched all who listened to it and inspired many to a new road in life lined with music and great times. We will all greatly miss him and will never forget the power of his music.
I was saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. I took Jeff and his wife for a carriage ride a few years ago and I will never forget how down to earth you both were. This is a terrible loss for he was a GREAT person and an amazing musician. My condolences to his family and friends
Jeff touched my heart with his loving sharing of himself with us the way he did...Peace, Love & Joy to his family...He was a gift from God...
Thank you for your gifts of song, music and laughter, Jeff Healey. Rest in peace and may God bless you, your family and friends now and forever.
An Inspiration to us all. His mark will forever be remembered.
I am so sad to hear of such a great, talented young man passing away way too soon. I truly loved his music. He has proven to live life to the fullest and to not let anything prevent you from pursuing what you truly love. Please accept my sympothy.
I saw Jeff at a Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival several years ago, and boy could he play. His passion for his art was obvious in every cell of his being. He will be missed by all who heard his magic.
Words fail me...
Nothing can express the 'emptiness' I now feel.
I have never seen him perform in person, however, his 'character' was even greater than his talent; and he was, undoubtedly, one of the greatest talents of our life time.
Another great one now playing in the company of other greats...my condolences to the family.
Rest in peace, my brother. You will be missed.
To Jeff's wife and children, family and friends.
I am so sorry you have lost your love. Jeff's music has seen me through some very difficult times, I will miss him very much.
I remember seeing him at the stage at Ontario Place when he first became famous. What a wonderful concert that was and that I still look back on to-day. What a phenominal musician and person he was.
I had the honor of seeing Jeff perform back in the 90's in Victoria, BC. Wow! What a force! A loss not only to his family, but to the world. Strength and Love to his family.
I am so sorry for your loss. May your burden not be too heavy. Jeff gave me my best musical moments on Thursday nights, blues night. Jeff was amazing!! I always said that the music was so good that I wanted those moments frozen in time. My family sends their sincerest sympathies. Again, I am so sorry.
I offer my sincere condolences at the passing of a true, unique artist. Jeff's music touched my life and always will. The world has lost a great talent.
We had the distinct pleasure of not only hearing and seeing Jeff perform in Edmonton, but also meeting and chatting at length with him. He was a true gem-an angel of music--he poured his pure soul into everything he did...we are all richer for sharing his enormous talent and heart...Blessings to his family--your angel now watches over you.
Jeff's soul lives!!! The sadness is ours, and especially for his family, friends, band mates, and the world at large. Jeff was an angel cleverly disguised as a human who was here to teach us,we don't need to see to listen to the needs of the world.
God has truely chosen an Angel. I can remember going to a concert in North Carolina with my sister Tami who's in heaven too now. That was one of the best memories i have with her. AND tHIS MAN WAS TRUELY AMAZING . We'll miss you Jeff rock on and all my love pam.
You had vision beyond mere physical form...you had music to color and brighten your world and a loving family. I wish we could all see lifes beauty as you did.
A great musician, a great man, and an inspiration to many. His songs will be missed as will he.
To Jeff's family
Please know we are all thinking of you at such a difficult time. Thanks so much for letting Jeff be shared by so many fans and friends. As a Canadian who lives in the US it is not the same for us to hear a talented Canadian performer such as Jeff and not realize how hard it must be to break into the market here successfully! Jeff you did it! I have heard so much of his music today and am proud to say I saw him at a concert before he was well known. Thanks for not changing into a different person. RIP and soar with the best of them!
I never met Jeff, but had the opportunity to see some of his gold records and his first guitar at his parent's home near Peterborough a few years ago.
I think of them now and remind myself how great a talent he was and how he will be missed.
Rest In Peace,Jeff. You are in good company.
a great musician , a great joy he added to many people . A life well spent but far too short.
I'm so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I first heard Jeff from my son David when he was in High school. Jeffs music was something we could talk about when every other conversation ended in a heated argument, we could always agree that we loved Jeff Heally Band.
We saw the band twice, once at the Parimont in Seattle and opening for ZZ Top at the Tacoma Dome. We loved both performances.
Thanks for the music and great memories.
Dear Ms. Healey,
I didn't know Jeff, but I thought that I would provide you with a memory of him that stays with me to this day.
I went to Richview Collegiate in Etobicoke and happened to be invited to an Etobicoke Collegiate highschool party. I was 17 at the time... as was Jeff.
I passed by a room where many kids were gathered. In fact it was almost impossible to get into the room. I didn't understand what the attraction was.... When I finally pushed my way into the room, I saw jeff playing a guitar on the couch and I quickly had my answer.
His musical talent brought a bunch of highschool kids together in a way that I never experienced again. He clearly continued to bring people together and his music will be with us forever.
I wish I would have spoken to him at the time and told him how amazing I thought he was, but as high school kids that was not the thing to do...
My deepenst sympathies to you and your children.
I met Jeff about 24 years ago while I was a bouncer in bar called Esmeralda's in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Jeff was a god on the guitar and an awesome guy. I have thought about him off and on through the years and he will be really missed....My deepest sympathy to you..... Have a great journey Jeff.
Jeff sad passing has been felt by all who knew him and admired his skill and passion. My prayers go to his family. RIP
I was so sad and sorry to hear of Jeff's passing this morning on the News. My condolences and prayers go out to his family.
I had the pleasure of sitting next to Jeff on a flight from Toronto to Calgary last year; I offered him to sit in the aisle seat as I figured he was so tall and could use the leg room. He didn't accept my offer. We chatted on and off on the flight and I found him to be a very nice caring person. We talked about his career and whether he came to Calgary for concerts, etc.
I told him I first saw him in the movie "Roadhouse" with Patrick Swayze; he just laughed and said he enjoyed filming the movie.
May he rest in peace with the Lord.
My deepest sympathies to Jeff's family and friends. He was truly a virtuoso on the guitar and a great ambassador for Canadian music. He will be missed.
your blues will always lighten my day . Thank you for the joys ,memories your music has given me
To Bud my deapest condolences from Ted Mazur your cottage neighbour Ted
YOU WERE SUCH AN AMAZING MUSICAL TALENT JEFF. WE WERE PROUD YOU WERE CANADIAN . God BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Our thoughts and prayers are with
Jeff's family at this time.We will always remember Jeff with joy and music in our hearts.
I was so saddened to hear about Jeff's passing. I met Jeff years ago when they played at the Saint John Marina for a Halloween Party. He actually came back to my house. He was such a great guy and an even greater musician. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children. God Bless you all!
It brought tears to my eyes as I also lost a son to cancer. They go through so much; that it takes a special person to achieve what Jeff did with the burden of the disease.
Was so blessed to have the opportunity to visit Jeff's father's home and see all those gold records and that little tiny guitar where he had first picked up as a kid, I was a fan before that great day and will be a fan of Jeff's music till my time is up! Swing that axe up there in heaven Jeff and say hi to Stevie Ray for me will you! My condolences to Bud and the whole Healey family.
Why do the good die young?
My sincerest condolences to Jeff's wife, children and family ... I have known him since intermediate boys res in Brantford, and have followed his career with great pride. I used to tease him so long ago when he would sit for hours and listen to the radio and then play the song over and over again until he knew it by heart. I teased him that he would someday be a back up singer for Don Ho, as I had never seen anyone else play a guitar like that before. He was so bright and creative, there was never anyway that anyone could pull anything over on Jeff .... I was proud to say he was one of my kids. I remember seeing him at his bar, and going up to see him and saying "hi, you may not remember me, but I am someone from your past" .... Jeff's response, so typical Jeff was "Mzzzz Hicks, how the hell are ya?" Over the years I went to see him many times, in many different places relishing in his joy of music. I was lucky enough to see him perform twice last summer, the last time in Harris Park in London. I knew then that days were numbered, and that was long before there was any mention of more cancer ..... We, as Canadians have lost a brilliant light ............. please know that he was loved for a very long time and I for one, will trully miss him, not just for his music but for the man himself, his charm, his charisma, his ability to look at life and live it to the fullest. He was and shall remain one of my personal heroes. thank you for sharing him with the rest of us ...
What an incredible loss for the world. We wish God's blessings of peace and strength to his family and friends.
im so sorry for your lost.he was a very great singer.my thoughts are with you.the angels will guide him

Please accept our deepest sympathies.
My heartfelt condolences to Jeff's family and children. Your father was a virtuoso musician who entertained and inspired many people.
When I first heard your dad on the radio, I had to pull over to the side of the road and just listen. His music will live on forever, as will his love for you.

As a person who depends on his ears while playing music, I've come to love the talent we call Jeff Healey. The World has lost a great musician who was an inspiration to all. Jeff proved to us all that a person can be judged upon the merit of their soul, not the narrow-minded views of those who are truly blind. May the Good Lord watch over Jeff in his journey home; and may God Bless his family, wife and children.
While Jeff has vacated this world, his deeds and inspiration will live in all he touched.

saw him in glasgow few years back.amazin talent.
My husband, Mike, and I were living on Fort Stewart, GA when we first discovered the music of Jeff Healey. What an amazing talent!! Many times we would ride through the Georgia countryside listening to his music and singing along. His music brings back memories of a very happy time in our lives. Thanks to his family for sharing him with the world. He will be greatly missed.
It is so sad to hear this news.
As a guitarist, I was always wowed by Jeff's talent, both as a guitarist and as a singer.
Jeff possessed that certain "mojo" that few ever attain.
My condolences go out to his family.
Though I never knew or met Jeff, I have heard wonderful things of how great of a man he was. Not only for his music but for his dedication as a husband and father.
My family will continue praying for yours and I know Jeff is not laying in a casket but joyfully standing tall singing with far greater voices and instruments then can ever be heard on earth.
My heart goes out to Jeff's family and friends. We have lost another great one. I had the honor to watch him perform at the Oakville Jazz Festival live and listened to him often on the radio. May he be at peace now.
I had no idea Jeff had cancer......disbelief and sadness.....a large loss for the music world....peace to Jeff and family....
I am absolutely stunned; what a talented, courageous human being, and an inspirational and passionate musician. I had no idea what he was going through. Please accept my sincere condolences
Jeff was such an inspiration to so many people. My husband and I have many memories of the beginning of your career, as we were just married in 1988. See the Light is still my favourite driving tunes CD. Our thoughts and prayers to your wife and girls.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I had the pleasure of hearing him with Stevie Ray, and never will forget him. His ease with people of all ages was amazing. My 16 year old son was totally amazed when he heard Jeff's art in a movie, and will remain an inspiration to both of us.
To Christie and your 2 children, I am an stranger but reading how Jeff overcame so many adversities with his perservence and strenghts. So talented. What a beautiful story. I wish you could have kept him longer but it is not meant to be. I am truly sorry that he could not stay with you. Love and strength be with you and your children.
Blind? Not this beautiful angel. Through his music, I was able to see that the most wonderful things in life existed even in darkness. ANGEL EYES will always be my favorite song.I am 41 and I too just lost my husband. MY thoughts and prayers go out to the family for strength and understanding at this truly difficult time. Fly high with the angels Jeff and enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful faces of your wife and children.

I was so sad to hear of Jeff's passing. He was a wonderful person and great muscian. May you have strength to get through this difficult time. God Bless
I only became aware of Jeff and his music about 6 months ago. As with everyone else who has heard his music, I was in awe of his abilities. his music is wonderful. I am truely saddened by this loss. My heart goes out to you, his family, at this time. My brother and I have played guitars in bands for years and I recently lost my dear brother to cancer. I know how this hurts to the bottom of your being. Please try to take comfort in that Jeff will live on with the appreciation I will continue to have of his life and his music. Sincerely,Peter
My deepest sympathy to Jeffs family. He is one of the best canadian musicians of all time and will be greatly missed. Gods bless my friend.
I met him at Konacti Harbor and he was so gracious in speaking w/ us and having our picture taken w/ him. His humor was evident as he claimed to have driven the bus that took the band there, so they were a little rattled! God Bless him and I know he is now seeing things much more wonderful than anything we have on earth.
Heaven is making music now, awesome musician. Our hearts and prayers are with the Healey Family and Friends.
I couldn't believe. I've just been watching Jeff's DVD Live At Monreux 1999, meanwhile have opened the local internet paper and read that shocking news.
I'll pray for You, Jeff.
Jeff Healey introduced me to the blues guitar. The world has lost a great artist. My Heart goes out to his family in this hard time...He plays on.
My husband is a big fan of Mr. Healey. My husband always enjoys listing to his music. Our 16 yr old son loves his music also in fact he likes to sing Angel Eyes. He will be missed diffently from our family. God bless him and his family.
My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends (and fans) of Jeff Healey. Easily, Canada's greatest guitarist, musician, jazz/blues historian, and friend of many.
I first heard his album, back in 1988, and was stunned by the talent and technique of Jeff and his band, with Joe and Stephen....
From seeing his many concerts in Montreal, and having the opportunity to hang out with the guys backstage (I am a photographer-media), was a memory I will never forget, The guys were so relaxed and outgoing, and this was well into there career...
A photo of the band and I backstage has been hanging on a wall above me, for over 20 years...
The photo will be there forever, and the music -an eternity....
May your family be spared any further sorrow...
"While my heart gently weeps"
...What did I do?
What did I say,
To turn your angel eyes my way?

I only met Jeff once, in Vancouver at the last Easter Be-In in Stanley Park. I had just played with our group,"Brain Damage". He and John Baldry showed up to play for free (and fun) and I got to play a few songs with them on drums. I didn't know who he was at the time, but he was a great guy and an incredible musician, he'll be missed! And the same goes for Long John.
We were all blessed to hear Jeff's music. My best wishes for his wife and children at this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing how his music was enjoyed by so many.

Words cannot express what a gifted person Jeff was. I understand how difficult this time is for all of you. Take comfort in knowing he was truly a great ambassador for Canadians and loved by millions.
What a tragic loss for Family, friends and to the music world. Jeff was definitely an inspiration to everybody. I remember seeing the first time that he had played at the Montreal Jazz Festival just prior to his breakout album. A close friend of mine asked me if I wanted to see this Blind Blues Guitarist that was playing that night. I was absolutely blown away that night and I became an instant fan.
A great guy and a tragic loss...

Dear Jeff. My wife just called me about your unfortunate news. I have loved your music for several years. Once, I made my brother and best friend wait in line with me for hours at one of your concerts back in the late 90's at "The Fox" on "The Hill" in Boulder Colorado USA, just so we could get the first seats and be as close to you as possible. When ever I'm feeling down, I just listen to one of your CD's. I own them all and love them. You always make me feel so much better listening to your music. You were a very unique and multi talented, fantastic musician and artist. You will be missed, but never forgotten. May you rest in peace with the lord and get to really see "Angel Eyes" Much Love forever!

Deepest condolences upon the passing of your beloved Jeff, a musical genius. I hail from Duluth, Minnesota, your southern neighbor, where we had the privledge of enjoying Jeff perform at the annual summer Blues Fest a number of summers ago. Wow! What a treat!
Seldom does an individual come along with such raw talent and inspirational ability, which Jeff shared so joyously with the world.
May the countless friends whose soul he touched bring you comfort in the trying days, and years ahead.

I am saddened to hear the news of Jeff Healey's death. My sympathies go out to his close family and friends. I've admired his music and his singular talent since 1989. He always has a place in my heart and life because as an aspiring journalism student, he was my first interview with a musician. I've since interviewed countless others as a professional music writer, but the opportunity to talk with him and then later to be introduced to him were two of the great moments in my life. What a fine guitarist and very nice man he was. Thanks for your gifts to us Jeff Healey.

Given enough time and practice you can become a Hendrix clone, Stevie Ray Clone, Van Halen Clone etc. but their will never be anyone who nails it like Jeff Healey. No matter what style he played you heard it more with your soul than your ears. My sympathies to his family and friends.
Jeff was a great spirit who's music will sorely be missed by many. my thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends. may the Gods grant you eternal rest big guy!
Your music touched the world and will be listened to till the end of time. God Bless your loved ones and may they find comfort through him and the many memories of you. You are now a true legend and gone before we your fans, friends and family were ready for you to leave.

I would have to say Jeff Healey introduced me to the amazing sound of blues guitar and I've been hooked ever since. An incredible talent has left this world and my condolences go out to his family.
We pray for your family and may your Angel wings spread wide.
OUR HEARTS GOES OUT TO YOUR FAMILY IN THEIR LOSS BUT AFTER SUFFERING WITH CANCER SINCE YOU WAS ONE, GOD SAW FIT TO TAKE YOU OUT OF YOUR SUFFERING AND HOME WITH HIM, YOU ARE A VERY STRONG PERSON, WE ARE GOING TO MISS YOU BUT WE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A BETTER PLACE NOW AND PAINLESS.
Everyone in GTA will miss you.
So very sorry to hear the sad news. Jeff has contributed much to society over the years, with his music as well as his attitude toward life. My deepest sympathy to Jeff's two children, wife, and the rest of the family. I had much admiration and respect for Jeff, have seen him perform in Ottawa a couple of times and my daughters, when young, continually asked me to play Angel Eyes. I will be buying his new CD when released next month in his memory but mostly because I really enjoyed his vocals and talent with a guitar.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
God gets another guitarist. isnt that cool?
Thinking of you at this sad time and our prayers are with you
My husband Barry and myself, are deeply saddened by Jeff's death. Apart from being fans, we were very fortunate to have him visit our home once in the early nineties to listen to a new sound system my husband had just purchased in order to play the old 78's he collects. Jeff came with his band mate Colin and we found him to be very gentlemanly, quiet and courteous.
We listened frequently to his radio broadcasts with CBC and his knowledge of the recordings and the details astounded us.
He will be sadly missed.
My husband and I wish to offer our sympathies. Jeff Healey's death has saddened us both; we have followed his career for many years and have taken refuge in his music many times in our lives. To us, his music reminds us of many happy memories, and it soothes us when we are feeling dizzy with the fast pace of life. What a great musician! Also, what a great inspiration! To be challenged at such a young age - and to climb up over those challenges and attain such a high level of accomplishment in spite of all the barriers - and to seemingly remain a soft-hearted, generous man all the while, without cynicism or self-destruction - is what made Jeff Healey a musical hero to us. As Canadians, we have always been especially proud of him. Let your soul fly free. Your music lives forever.
Another great artist silenced..God bless you Jeff and sympathies to your family, bandmates and fans...
A Great Canadian musician, Jeff you will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
Had the privilege to meet Jeff back in the late 80's early 90's when he played in Cornwall, Ontario. All the best to the family.Great person he was.
I am a Jeff Healy fan and have enjoyed his music since I first heard it. Thoroughly enjoyed him in "Roadhouse". I was lucky enough to watch his phenomenal ability to play the guitar as "The Jeff Healy Band" opened up for ZZ Top during "The Recycler Tour" here in Boise, Idaho. What a beautiful man. We will certainly miss him.
I saw Jeff several years ago when his Cover to Cover album came out. He was a true showman, a guitar virtuoso, and a great entertainer. Rest in peace and God bless your family.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember being amazed at his playing the first time I ran across it via the Net. I also heard him on Prairie Home Companion and have the first CD. Unfortunately, I never got to see the band live. Keep the good memories and carry on the best of his contrbutions to your life.
My deepest condolences to the Healey family. I am sure that Jeff truly has "Angel Eyes".
You are a 'guitar hero' Jeff. Your truly amazing talent, hope, desire and struggles throughout your lifetime are a testiment to you and your survival. Keep all those people happy in heaven playing your soulful music. You are a legend and will be missed!
Sincere Condoloences.Jeff's music is listened to in my house every weekend from myself , wife and 4 year old daughter, still today.Great Loss for the music industry .I've seen him in lachine and also downtown in a club .Great shows from a great person.Sincere thanks as well for all the great music.
Marco, Heidi , Emily.
My heart goes out to all his family, he was and will always be remembered as an excellent singer. My sincere condolences to all.
I first saw Jeff perform at a blues jam at Grossman's Tavern on Spadina. I don't think he was even old enough to drink in the bar then (1980's). He was truly amazing. We saw him perform many times at Grossman's. Later, after I moved to BC I saw him at the Savoy in Gastown. He and his band were accessible, friendly and great to see. I am saddened by this news and send conolences to his family and loved ones.
I am in total shock after just receiving the news. He was to come back to England in 2 months for a show here in London. We saw him for the very first time last May at The Islington Academy. I've been into his music since my late teens, no matter where in the world I am, I always have some Jeff Healey music with me and I am so very gutted right now. The Blues has lost one of it's best, there are but a few who only come close to his playing.
To his family and friends you have my deepest sympathy
Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
I'm shocked. We just watched a TV special on him a couple of nights ago but didn't even realize that he was gravely ill. I'd heard a year or so ago that he had a health scare but nothing was mentioned on the special so I thought he must be recovered.
I was a fan years ago and admired his ability to switch between music styles. I also admired his strength of character and knowledge of self.
In the interview he spoke so highly of his wife and child. This must have been an incredibly tough time for them. All my sympathy.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeff's family and bandmates.
Jeff was truly one of a kind.
May God be with you all at this most difficult time.
Thank you for your music Jeff. You are what heros and legends are made of. You are now a member in one of the greatest bands ever. Play on.
So sorry to hear of passing of a great musician and a great person as well, another great musician who had to die so young.
To a great musican and a great man, go with GOD and be in peace.
I have always loved your music and you are and amazing talent.
We are sorry that you had such a short life. We enjoyed your music. Our children's favorite movie is Roadhouse. (where you are in it)
We would have liked to have a chance that we could have know you more personally, you were someone that didn't let life get you down. You will be missed.
I saw Jeff and his band in February of 1993, opening for Bon Jovi in Portland, Maine. I was amazed by his abilities, and truly enjoyed listening to his music. I am very sorry for your loss.
In the mid '90s, my band at the time had the great privilege to open for the Jeff Healey Band when they made a stop in Ottawa. Although I was completely floored by the musicianship and the sheer talent that Jeff displayed, it was the friendliness and sense of humor that I remember the most from that night, as we chatted in his tour bus along with the members of his band. He was down to earth, supportive, but at the same time, a Canadian icon. He was celebrated around the world for his brilliance on the guitar, his songwriting, and his dedication to helping others through charity. For that (and I’m sure many other great things), Jeff’s family, and Canada, should be extremely proud of what he was able to achieve in such a brief life.
My sincere condolences to Jeff’s family.
He will truly be missed...he was one of the best and brightest musician that Canada ever produced....
I am truly sad to hear about this tragic news.
I wish his family and friends, that well during this trying time....
On Sunday the world lost a modern day guitar legend

What an inspiriation and excellent musician Jeff was. The words in his songs mean so much. We have lost a huge talent in his prime
I was truly saddened to hear of Jeff's passing yesterday. On Friday driving home from work I heard a Jeff Healey Band song and wondered to myself how he was doing with his battle with cancer. I have been a fan for more than 25 years and love everything he has done and I look forward to the new release. My greatest mermory of Jeff was meeting him back stage after a show (probably 20 years ago), he was very friendly and welcoming, and introduced me to his girlfriend -Cristie. My thoughts and prayers are extended to her and their children as well as his bandmates. This is a great loss to the music world. Farewell Jeff, rest in peace.
The world is a sadder place today. My deepest sympathies to Jeff's family.
