To The Border Family...
It Veterans Day weekend 2012, I feel compelled to write and express my deepest sorrow to all of you for the loss of Jeremie. My wife Linda and I think of you often and pray regularly for Jeremie and your family. My son was with Jeremie on September 1, 2012. So, I feel a small connection to your family in that way. I have grieved and cried over the loss of your son and of Jonathan Schmidt who also died that day. To honor these two hero's, my son and I wear a Memorial Bracelet with their names. They will never be forgotten. We will continue to pray for you and always remember the sacrifice you all have made. Please accept my sincerest sympathy.... May God Bless and comfort each and every one of you.

To the family of SSGT Jeremie S. Border, I am so sorry for your loss. There are few words adequate to express my sadness or gratitude for his military service. He seems like a young man who accomplished so much in his life and lived it well.

Dear Mary Lynn,
There are no words to express the sadness we feel for you and your family. Losing your precious Jeremie has to be the most painful experience you have had to endure. Just know all the Jeff Tarpley family is thinking of you and wishing this were not so. Wish we could hit the rewind button and make it not so. Can't stop thinking of you and hurting for you. Know we love you.

To say that Jeremie died a hero is beyond a major understatement. He was much more than that. And now, he is also a legacy. Its been an honor knowing him over 20 years. The thought of losing someone as beautiful and caring as Jeremie leaves me understandably heartbroken, but makes me that much more grateful for the time we spent as friends, and even more eager to see him again one day. No words can heal the loss of such an amazing man but I truly pray you find comfort in knowing that you raised such a courageous, noble, selfless, and immaculate man as Jeremie. To Jeremie's parents, the life you placed on this Earth gave hope that greatness still exists. And the legacy of the life he lived, guides our hope to grow much greater. My deepest condolences to all his family. Be Proud.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jeremie will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of SSgt. Border and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of freedom and liberty. Sadly, America has lost one of its finest heroes, the U.S. has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage, which they will love, respect and cherish forever. Today, because of the sacrifice SSgt. Border has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends, of SSgt. Border, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to carry on. Just as you were always with him when he was deployed overseas, know that he will always be with you wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that SSgt. Border was a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid, they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never, ever forget their sacrifices."

SSgt. Border the flag of the United States of America has your blood sewn into the fabric; it shall forever wave in your honor.

Freedom requires sacrifice the protected will never know.

The memories I possess of Jeremie are finer than the richest treasures. I remember how he strengthened me with his kindness and generous spirit.

I cared for him deeply.

Time and distance are the culprits for the silence that took place in our relationship during the several ten years. Yet, the memories I possess of Jeremie remain voluminous.

I cannot find adequate enough words to articulate how valuable Jeremie was to me in my life. His friendship emboldened and empowered me in ways that still bear deep resonance today.

His heroism and sacrifice does not go unnoticed. I mourn for him. His sudden departure is a surprise. Yet, I cannot imagine how deeply felt this loss is for Jeremie's family. I pray healing and comfort for the family during this difficult time. Furthermore, thank you for sharing him with all of us. He was indeed a gift.

I am proud of my belated and beloved friend. His selfless spirit boldly went after goodness and justice.

I will never, never forget dear sweet Jeremie. I will cherish every utterance, word, and memory he has given me through the years.

All of my love and care,
