MAY YOUR MEMORY BE ETERNAL!
January 01, 2011
I just found out about Ms. Havoc's death (1/1/11). I am saddened I was not able to pay my respects at the proper time. I was one of her protege's in Youthbridge. I attended her birthday celebration/tribute at the Lortel theater some years ago...She was a true inspiration and a talented giving person. May she rest in peace...Until We Meet Again June xox Phyllis

Tona,

Have recently learned of Miss Havoc's death. I remember with great fondness the hours she spent with me telling story after story, as she was arranging costumes in that great barn, or placing protective plastic over her plants before spraying so as not to emit toxics into the atmosphere. I especially remember her energy, stunning beauty, love of animals and her introducing me to Robert Vaughn (forever Napoleon Solo) at one of the Blessings of the Animals at Cannon Crossing. Once asked Miss Havoc about Ronald Reagan, and wanted to know if we could tell when he was acting. Her immediate answer was: "you can't," which caused quite a laugh. Extremely proud to say that I have inscribed copies (to Linda and me) from Miss Havoc of "Early Havoc," and "More Havoc." Such a delightful, caring and lovely lady that I shall always remember, and honored to have known. With sincere good wishes to you, and thank you for all that you did to help Miss Havoc with her life's work and commitment to animals. A very special lady, that did so much good for such a very long time.

To a Wonderful Lady who cared about others. She was instrumental in establishing a theatrical company for underpriveleged children in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She brought in the best professional performers to teach the children, not only theater, but ethics, as well. They were taught discipline and for the most part they became well-rounded individuals, who, I believe, have learned to give back as June gave back to communities. She was truly missed when Youthbidge ended, but she is surely missed in her passing. My children will never forget her and all that she taught them while they attended the Youthbridge program. A great lady has left a great void that cannot be filled - for she really cared about the children she taught and loved.

My three brothers and I met Ms. June when we were in elementary school. She ran a theatre club for underprivileged kids in Bridgeport, Connecticut. We have never forgotten the plays we learned and performed in. My baby brother even learned to play the bongo and conga drums from one of the musicians Ms. June brought in...he still plays today. She impacted our lives for the good, and we are forever grateful. We love you Ms. June. We thank God that He allowed us to meet and learn from her...we know she loved us too! She was a great lady. She even took us to meet Paul Newman! Wow!
July 21, 2010
Thank you June Havoc for creating Youthbridge in Bridgeport, Connecticut for the underprivileged community. I remember your pretty blue eyes and energy. Although I was only 7 years old Youthbridge taught me how to act, play congos. There is a newspaper with you and I working on a play at Youthbridge, I cannot find that article, but I think the library somewhere in Connecticut has it. I remember when you and my sister Robin used to write letters to each other. I also remember meeting Paul Newman on the set of Youthbridge before one of our shows. It was so exciting for me as a young child to be a part of Youthbridge, the shows were astounding. I remember when when we were on TV, and also when we went to Providence College. I remember all the hugs I used to get from you.

For June...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...

To the Family and Friends of June Havoc,

I am so sorry for the loss of such a talented and beautiful lady like Mrs.Havoc. I hope all her knew her will draw on the many memories she must have made over the years.

Find comfort at Psalms 34:18-"God is near to those broken at heart..."

You can feel that Death can leave a hearache that nothing can heal, just know that Love can leave a memory that no one can steal.

The movie "My Sister Eileen" is and was, especially meaningful for me and our family. As a child, growing up near downtown Atlanta, my parents took me to see this movie and I loved that name " Eileen"! My mother was expecting a baby...it was 1943..during the WWII years. After the movie, I told my parents, "If our baby is a girl...I want her name to be..My Sister Eileen"! On December 26, 1943, against doctors orders, we went to Thomaston, Ga. to visit my maternal grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins for Christmas. The baby was due to come in January of '44! Well, she made her appearance the day after Christmas! My baby sister was named, as I had wished. She's still my baby sister and only one. I think she always loved the fact, that I named her! Thanks to June Havoc..for all her movie and stage roles. You were a great actress! Thanks too, for providing this bit of history to our family and making a wonderful impression on a four year old girl.
We will always remember you!

I had the privilege of seeing Ms. Havoc perform at the Repertory Theater in New Orleans many years ago. She was a delight. RIP, Ms. Havoc.

I just saw an episode of "Murder She Wrote" with Ms. Havoc as the central character. I LOVED IT! and Ms. Havoc in the role. I wish I would have known her earlier works while she was alive, but she will live on in her films. So sorry for the loss of a talented and a person who obviously was interesting who lived an interesting life.
April 01, 2010
I only know June Havoc from "Old" movies and, of course, her life as told in the movie Gypsy. As a child I loved all the stars of yester-year and as we lose them, the world loses a world of talent.
Good-bye June. You are missed and remembered always.

To the friends and family of June, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. Rest in Peace, June. May your family be reunited again.

June Havoc was truly a remarkable actress, and one of the last great actresses that had survived into 2010, from the silent era and into the Hollywood talkies golden era. Miss Havoc left some great films for future fans to view, and a play based on her life that will be often reprised.

A name from the past...my childhood to be exact. I remember hearing June's name and also her sister's throughout my younger years....and then my own life became full and I forgot the name. Now my life is empty once again and I read where June is now resting in eternity along with those who filled my life in the interim. What blessedness for them. May our God grant us Peace and Comfort as we go on without our loved ones. Heaven is indeed a brighter place with all the new stars taking up residence there.

Dear Havoc Family,

My memories are all very good of June but of course only in the movies. I wanted to share with you a wonderful hope for the future that I have found through the pages of the Bible. It tells us that there will be a resurrection of the righteous at John 5:28 and that it will be on this earth at Psalms 37:10,11,29. I hope these words will comfort you at this very sad time.
March 30, 2010
