norma i think of our long ago discussion about whether or not you would marry lamar and i smile .
At any time of the day, God’s worshippers have approach to the “Hearer of prayer,” who can help us to cope with distressing feelings and circumstances. (Psalm 65:2) The Bible urges us to pour out our hearts to him: “Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 4:6, 7.
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Lamar Hunt will be missed here in Kansas City,Mo .When I first moved here from Texas in 1959, I was to small to know anything about football, then 3 years later he shows up in KC and calls the team the Chiefs. So I heard of him for 47 years and will miss hearing about like I did. I will miss him just like every other football fan out there. He gave Kansas City,Mo a well known team.Rest In Peace Mr.Hunt
I am so very sorry to hear about the lose of Lamar Hunt. This may give you some comfort knowing that pretty soon god will put a end to all suffering and death, and you will have chance of seeing Lamar Hunt again.
I now know why Vijay Armitraj was loyal to you and why he was willing to qualify for Grand Slams.
RIP You will always be the best owner of the Kansas City chiefs you will bemissed for ever. Now let your son do like you did when you were owner.
I spent 48 years as a traveling sportscaster, and every visit to
Arrowhead Stadium was another
highligght I cherish ! The
FRIENDSHIP of Lamar Hunt (and his
staffs)WILL BE FOREVER REMEMBERED.
I am only one of multi-thoudsnds
Thank you Mr Hunt for your vision and the joy that you have brought to Kansas city, you are a great man and someone that I will tell my grandkids about.
The Patriots, Bills, Jets, Titans, Broncos, Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers, Dolphins and Bengals would not have existed if it hadn’t been for Mr. Hunt. What’s more, the NFL’s Cowboys, created to drive the AFL out of Dallas, would not have existed. Nor would the Vikings, an NFL franchise given to Max Winter to quit the original eight-team American Football League; nor the Falcons, which the NFL gave Rankin Smith to deter him from the AFL’s Miami franchise. Neither would the Saints, whose NFL franchise was granted after Louisiana congressmen pushed the AFL-NFL merger to completion.
That’s 14 professional football teams that would not have existed in 14 cities today, if Lamar Hunt had not had the vision and the courage to “fight the establishment”.
Knowing what a humble, unassuming gentleman he was, he would probably not want to take the credit for making pro football what it is today; but make no mistake: Lamar Hunt INVENTED today’s pro football.
The Super Bowl trophy should be re-named THE LAMAR HUNT TROPHY.
At age 10 in 1968, I became a Chiefs fan and have remained ever since. From listening to those great games on the radio growing up on our Oklahoma farm to being a regular season ticket holder from my home in Arkansas. I now am passing that passion for Chiefs football down to my 9 year old daughter, Emma. Thanks Lamar for all those great years and the vision that brought it to light. Our prayers are with the family.
You will be sadly missed.
I am 16 years old and for my entire life I have loved the Kansas City Chiefs. I just want to thank you for your amazing work to bring the team to Missouri in the 60's and for your perserverance in constructing the beautiful Arrowhead Stadium. I attended my first game in 2004 and by far that was the greatest single moment and rush of my short life. I will never forget seeing the players up close and personal, and what it feels like to scream your voice out for 3 straight hours. Mr. Hunt you made me fall in love with sports and I can't thank you enough for what you have done for not only me, but the entire sports community. You will always hold a place in my heart and I will never attend another game without thinking of your absence.
Mr. Hunt you will always have our utmost respect for the way you treated your fellow man. You so freely gave of yourself that is matched by so very few on this earth. My 12 year old son and I were so pleased to see you at training camp 2006. We were able to snap a terrific photo of you on the sidelines at the Vikings scrimage in Mankato this past August. You were watching your beloved Chiefs. Thanks for all that you have done to touch the lives of so many. May God Bless you and your Family.
Thank you for creating what my family considers to be the best football team ever. You've stuck with us through thick and thin, and have lead us to many Super Bowls. You were a great man, as well as leader, and will always be remembered in Chiefs fans hearts. Once again, we thank you for everything.
The Sayers & Sellars Family

mr.hunt Thank you for the dallas texans, your love of soccer and your enthusiasm in all your endeavors.A special thanks for showing us what sportsmanship is all about
You will be truly missed. Lamar had a great sense of staying in touch of what was important to him & that was to be himself wherever he went whether it was business or pleasure, he truly had a gift with people. God bless Lamar & his family as i know he will. Thanks for the memories.
To the Hunt Family,
I am sure that you will read of many instances of kindness from Mr. Hunt just like this one.
As I was leaving a jet bound for Dallas from Kansas City one Sunday afternoon after a Chiefs game, Mr. Hunt offered to remove my luggage from the overhead compartment for me. We had been season ticket holders for 15 years at that time so I was aware that he was Mr. Hunt. We spoke briefly as we left the plane about the season the chiefs were having that year and what his hopes were for the remainder. It was a great pleasure to have met such a kind and humble man as Mr. Hunt and to be associated with an organization headed by him. Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead.
Thank you Lamar! You will be missed but not forgotten.
Thank you Lamar for all that you have done for the game of football. You will be greatly missed. The game and the Chiefs will not be the same.
Thank you Lamar Hunt, for everything that you have done, and for giving us all a favorite past time,, Thank you for making the our Chiefs possible. You will be greatly missed.
THANK YOU LAMAR HUNT FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR KANSAS CITY ABOVE AND BEYOND BRINGING MY BELOVED CHIEFS TO K.C. I AM A LIFE LONG DIEHARD FAN AND I KNOW YOU WILL BE LOOKING OUT FOR US AND THE CHIEFS. MAYBE YOU CAN ASK GOD TO BRING US A SUPERBOWL WIN. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING. GO CHIEFS!
U will be in our memories thanks for bringing the Chiefs to K.C.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
My deepest condolences to the Hunt family. I've been a Chiefs fan all my life; since the first Chiefs football I watched at 10 years old(Chiefs/Dolphins X-mas day 1971)from my Santa Fe, New Mexico television. And a year ago Jan.'05, I had the greatest pleasure of meeting Mr. Lamar Hunt in a San Diego hotel lobby where the Chiefs had arrived the day before their season finale. Mr. Hunt took the time to greet me and all the Chiefs fans who had waited patiently for hours for the Chiefs to arrive. Thank you for shaking my hand and sharing your time with me Mr.Hunt. I will keep the Hunt family in my prayers.
Thank You Mr. Hunt for all you have done for the fans of Kansas City. God Bless you and your family. Thanks for the memories
Lamar Hunt was a true gentleman. He helped more people than he could ever know. We will miss him.
I tried to think of one word to describe Mr. Hunt. Several came to my mind, but the one I liked best was Class. He is someone the that will never be replaced in this world!!
My thanks go out to the Hunt family for sharing Lamar with KC and with sports in general. He will be held in hearts of Chiefs fans everywhere forever.

Mr. Lamar Hunt was the best thing to the NFL!!!!!! We will miss HIM
I can truly say Mr. Lamar Hunt was one of the nicest gentlemen I've met from the Kansas City Chiefs Organization. I will miss the talks ,picture takings and visits in the pass. He will be missed greatly.
Thank you, Mr. Hunt, for bringing the Chiefs to Kansas City! You were much appreciated and will be sorely missed!
Thank you Mr.Hunt for everything you did for Kansas City and the NFL. While in the Military I would wear my Chiefs jacket over in Germany and I would get so many comments. When everyone seen the red and white jacket with "Chiefs" on it they knew I was from Kansas City and a Big Chiefs fan. May you rest in peace.
RIP Mr. Hunt. Your contributions to everything you touched are evident in everything we see today that has your handprint on it. You did so without question and without being noticed. The world will be less without you in it.
I never had the opportunity to meet Lamar Hunt, but I do remember when he first brought the team to KC. I was around 4 at the time. Instead of just watching the game on television (like cartoons), it became real. Dad actually took me to some of the games out at Municipal Stadium.
To his family, friends, and business associates, I offer my most sincere condolences.
Thank you Mr Hunt for everything you have done for the world of sports. You were very gracious and spoke to me like a friend every time I had a chance to meet you. God Bless You.
I will never forget when I worked for Hunt Oil Company in 1965-66. Knowing Larmar Hunt and his Dad, will always be in my mind. What a great man he was.
AS A TRUE CHIEFS FAN I WILL NEVER FORGET THE TIME I MET YOU IN DALLAS , RIP MR HUNT.
Thank you Mr. Hunt. Your spirit carries on with the Chiefs and the NFL.
My condolences to the Hunt family. I am now living in Austin, TX., but I lived in K.C. for 27 years and was a long time KC Chiefs season ticket holder. My husband, Don, also passed away the same day. I like to think they both walked thru the gates together and shared stories of their love of family, friends and even football.
It is a tremendous loss to the Chiefs nation, and indeed to the entire sports world. God bless you, Lamar Hunt. God bless your family. And God bless the Kansas City Chiefs.
The NFL and the world has lost a great man and a true friend. Many thanks from this fan, Mr. Hunt, for all you have contributed in your time and resources to professional sports and communities across America.
Mr. Hunt your legacy will continue here on earth as your enrich the dreams of many who follow in your footsteps. Thanks to your family for sharing you with us. May you forever speed with God.
Lamar Hunt was a man among men who had a vision and worked hard for the fans of many sports. His passion and consideration for others will be remembered by all. Thanks Lamar.............
My sympathy and condolences in the loss of Lamar Hunt. With family in the Kansas City area and home here in Dallas, I know the loss is genuinely and widely felt. I came to know him while I was City Manager of Dallas where he scheduled the World Championship Tennis to be the opening event in Reunion Arena – and over the years I have appreciated the aquaintenship and friendship.
I just don't have the words... Thank you, Mr. Hunt...
Having grown up in Indep. I've always been a Chiefs fan. I now live near New Orleans and several years ago the Chiefs were here to play the Saints. Prior to the game I was along the railing watching warm-ups when I spotted Mr. Hunt on his way to shake hands with TomBenson, the Saints owner. Decked out in my Chiefs red a yelled and waved to Mr. Hunt. His path changed and he greeted me with that familiar smile and shook my hand. He thanked me for being there and supporting the team. The man took time to shake the hand of an ordinary fan and kept a fellow NFL team owner waiting for him. I think you can spell "class" L A M A R H U N T. Thank you Mr. Hunt for everything.
Fairwell Mr. Hunt now your in a better place. I am a "Hunter" a person with a vision, a heart, and dreams that can possibly come true, so sir from a student of the game you will always be missed and forever remembered by this one of millions.
I like to express my sincerest sympathy to the Hunt family on the loss of a great patriarch to Kansas City and of sports in general. Lamar was a great man and visionary that put Kansas City on the sports map of America. May his legacy stand as a shinning example for all of those who try to fill his shoes. He will be sorely missed.
I MET LAMAR IN 1976.JACK STEADMAN AND HIM CAME UP TO MY GAME IS WAS RUNNING AT WORLDS OF FUN AND WANTED TO PLAY THE TIC TAC TOE GAME YOU THROW BALLS FILLED WITH SAW DUST AND TRY TO GET 3 IN A ROW.I TOLD BOTH OF THEM TO GO AHEAD AND PICK UP 4 BALLS AND PLAY.BUT THEY REFUSED TO DO IT FOR FREE.SO JACK PULLED OUT A DOLLAR BILL AND HE AND LAMAR PLAYED MY GAME.THEY DIDNT WIN BUT HAD FUN AT IT ANYWAY.LAMAR SHOOK MY HAD AND TOLD ME TO HAVE A GOOD EVENING..
My sincere sympathy goes out to Lamars Hunt family.Ive been a chiefs fan since I was a kid growing up in KC in the 60's.I would always have fond memories of those early days of the Chiefs.I always wished to meet Lamar, but I never did.But I will always have fond memories of what he brought to KC and the world. The sports world had a great friend in Lamar Hunt.He would be missed, but not forgotten.
God Bless You & your family. We will miss the man, who gave us the AFL. So long Chief !!!
God Bless Mr. Hunt and his family! What a tremendous loss for Kansas City and the Chiefs! I am fortunate to attend Chief's games with my father and those are memories I will always cherish! I am proud to be in Kansas City! God Bless you and your Family and Friends!!
The U.S. Soccer Foundation honored Mr. Hunt with the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award. He truly lived a life of achievement. It was a priviledge to know him. Mr. Hunt was the definition of "gentleman" and will be missed by many.
As a member of the United States Air Force and having traveled to many places in the world, I always love to come home to Kansas City, not only for my family but also in part that KC is a great city and that, in large part, is due to your drive, vision, enthusiasm, and true caring nature for others. You'll truly be missed and thought of in high regard for a long, long time
Thanks, TSgt Shaun Autrey, USAF
Thank you Lamar for being a visionary. I have been a Chiefs fan my whole life and will always be a Chiefs fan. My dad and I have season tickets and have had them since the stadium opened. You were a kind and humble man and a role model for your family. We appreciate all that you did for the Chiefs and for Kansas City. You will be missed, expecially at Arrowhead, your favorite place to be. May you rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends and the Chiefs family. I can only hope that you have been reunited with your family, friends, former Chiefs players, and Chiefs fans that have gone before you. I am sure that there is football in heaven and that you all are having the best games.
The passing of Lamar Hunt is a sad day for my hometown of Kansas City. KC has been blessed by the legacy of Mr. Hunt...R.I.P.
As a life-long Chiefs fan and KC native, I can't say 'thank you' enough to this wonderful sportsman. Thanks for so many memories, Mr. Hunt, you'll be greatly missed by so many of us! My sincerest condolences to your family.

The World lost a great man Lamar God Bless you & your family.
Thank you for everything you did for sports and for Kansas City. You will be missed by a greatful city.
The Kansas City Chiefs are more than just a football team to my family and I; they are a part of our lives and I thank Lamar Hunt for his integrity and the devotion it took for him to make them what they are.
You helped make the game what it is today. You will truely be missed.
We will miss you, Lamar. You were a such a blessing to all of us in the Chiefs fold. Condolences to Norma and the rest of the Hunt family.
I met him at a book signing at Arrowhead and told him that my Dad and I had been season ticket holders since the Chiefs came to K.C. and he spent 15 min. thanking me for our patronage. I will always be a Chiefs fan and ticket holder because of his kindness. One last thing, I'm also a local firefigther and after 9/11 he open his heart to the firemen that lost thier lives in New York by letting us collect money for the families at Arrowhead, that alone shows the character of this great man. My prayers go out to the family of this great man.
I had the extreme honor to meet and briefly speak with Mr. Hunt at the 2003 HOF induction. As a life-long Chiefs fan, that was the highlight of the weekend. A nicer, more down to earth man I will never meet.
Thank you for all that you have done for Kansas City, the Chiefs and the NFL. You will be greatly missed.
Lamar Hunt, Blessed to be a blessing!
C H I E F S ! ! ! Thank you!
i never met Mr.Hunt but my mom told me stories about when she worked at world's of fun and him bring his kids in but never let his kids skip the line even though he was the owner of the park. she also told me that he would sit and talk to the ride operators while his kids where in line. and i thought to myself there is one man that would be nice to meet.
and i will always be a Chiefs fan.
My deepest sympathies long time fan!
Please accept our deepest sympathies.
There is not a better team around because of this great individual. Although all could not be at his service due to work, or some other reason let it be known that all will miss this great man and founder of the game of football, etc.
I started following football at the age of 8 in 1960 when the AFL started and sort of grew up with the AFL, having reached adulthood at the time the merger was completed. I will always remember Lamar Hunt for keeping his commitment to the other AFL owners when the NFL then came to him with the opportunity to cut and run. He also stood by the other AFL owners in 1966 when the merger was negotiated by insisting that all AFL teams be included. Lamar Hunt always stood up for the good of the game, something we see less an less of among sports owners these days. If only Major League Baseball had had a Lamar Hunt. Long live Lamer Hunts legacy and long live the AFL
To the Hunt Family
It was an honor in having a person like Lamar Hunt to be in Kansas City.He will be missed by all.
If you look in the dictionary under CLASS...
We will miss you, Lamar.

Thank you for your vision, your tenacity and inspiration to many. I lived in Dallas then Kansas City and now in Romania. Thanks to you I am still a Chief's fan and supporter of helping others be the best they can be.
Lamar, you led such an amazing life and touched so many. Your heart and soul will forever live on in Kansas City and every other city you ever touched. I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I know there can never again be a man such as yourself. An angel has not left us, he's just gone higher to guide and protect us. God bless you and your family. Thank you for sharing such an extraordinary man. May all of us show kindness to one another like he showed to everyone he met.
I want to thank Lamar Hunt for giving me some of the best memories of my lifetime.
I grew up in south Kansas city and went to school with Len Dawson’s son, Lenny, and Ed Budde’s son, Brad.
Lamar gave me the chance to live the moments of those great years when we went to the Super Bowl and a couple years later, win the Super Bowl with the children of the Chiefs players.
Len Dawson even came to our elementary school and talked to us about playing for a great organization and a great man named Lamar Hunt.
Every Sunday, if we weren’t watching the Chiefs on TV, my Dad would load us up in the car and drive around on a Sunday drive, and listen to the Chiefs on the radio.
That’s when I learned to live and die listening and watching the KC Chiefs.
Through the years, I, like Lamar never gave up, and always had hope each Sunday that the Chiefs win and someday would be back to the Super Bowl.
When I grew up and was able to afford it, I bought season tickets to the Chiefs. (I had those for 16 years and I never gave them up until I moved to Washington State, last year).
But, I still can’t quit following the Chiefs, because Lamar has made this franchise the best the NFL has ever seen.
In some of those years, I was able to go to many Chiefs functions, including preseason lunches and banquets. I was able to meet many current and past Chiefs players and coaches.
I want to thank Lamar, for not only allowing me to do all of these things but also for being such a great role model for me to aspire to. A humble and unassuming man that kept doing so much for my town and for me.
My family wishes to send our love and condolences to Lamar’s family and wish them the best in the years ahead.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
John Vanzant & family
Norma, I'm so sorry to hear about Lamar's death. He was a great man. You'll remember me as the friend from Plano who shared our great saxophone interest while you were in the Richardson band in the 1953-56 era. Norma Wells-Huppert

Please accept our deepest sympathies.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Hunt Family,
I grew up in Kansas City and attended games at old Municipal Stadium and Arrowhead (during 40 years in KC). Then, I moved with my wife Mary to Dallas in 1995. Since our move, I have continued to watch every Chiefs game (via the NFL Ticket on DirecTV).
I "felt a need" to attend yesterday's public celebration of Lamar's life to show appreciation for what Lamar was directly responsible for during my life: Lamar made KC a major sports city.
The presentation yesterday was a great celebration of Lamar's life; a celebration that proves how valuable Lamar was to both cities.
May God bless your family during this trying time...
Seemingly, Lamar would want you not to mourn, but simply to look forward to the next Chiefs victory!
As two of the Chiefs early season ticketholders in old Municipal Stadium, we were thrilled with the arrival of "our" football team, thanks to Mr. Hunt. Through the years we have seen him set example after example of what a person should be in their life. We are grateful to have had him among us and, to his dear family, we want them to know that he will live in our thoughts and hearts forever. Bless you, Mr. Hunt.
---------CHIEF OF CHIEFS---------
Score a Touchdown in heaven Mr.Hunt may God Bless your Family
Thanks to Mr. Hunt for his vision, leadership, and ability to get things done. It's very refreshing to read all the moving tributes being paid to such an influential man. The esteem in which he was held can't be exaggerated. It's just such a shame Lamar was never personally handed the trophy which bears his name. I hope to see the day that his son Clark receives that honor.
As a former employee of the Chiefs, I can smile at the many memories of me meetings with Lamar. I have worked for a better boss. He was truly a gentleman and a gentle man. KC has lost its greatest champion. My heart goes out to Norma and her children
Thank you Mr. Hunt for all you have done. You set an example of how to conduct ones life in a positive way. Rest in peace, you were the top Chief!
Football in Kansas City has served as a means of bringing happiness to my family and bridging the gap between several generations since the inception of the Chiefs. For that alone I am thankful. Sundays would not be Sundays without you Lamar. May God bless your soul.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR KANSAS CITY MAY GOD BLESS YOU
Lamar, I could only hope that there is football in heaven, and if not then would you talk to God and setup a league for us when we get there. I'll gladly buy eternity passes to your stadium.
Thanks for everything Lamar Hunt may God be with you. You will be missed!
Two great men have graced us in Kansas City, one being Ewing Kauffman and the other Lamar Hunt. I worked at Marion Labs many years, and was a Chief fan for many years. These two brought us lots of joy and happiness in K.C. One with football the other baseball. Thank you Lamar for all that you gave you are one of a kind a dieing breed of men who love life to the fullest. May God be with you and your family at this time. God bless you all
Alice Thrutchley Independence, MO.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
They gave me a chance to learn about sports in KC. They were about the fans, the players and the people. You never kow how much one will be missed until the other passes. Both are loved and missed. Mr. K and now joined in heaven with Mr. Hunt.
To the family, friends and people that "just met Lamar once"...he was a great person. He loved his friends, teams, players ad the fans. He will be missed. I can only hope that a special dedication by the Chiefs faily and Jackson County will be made for Lamer. How about -- Lamar Hutn Field @ Arrowhead
I am a lifelong Chief's fan and a season ticket holder. As a native Texan , I would fly to some games out of D/FW on American , just like Lamar. I remember one Saturday I was walking to my gate with my Chief attire on and Lamar passed me and in his quite voice said Go Chiefs! What a great man he was! He will always be remembered and his legacy in sports will live forever! May God be with the Hunt family and I pray one day soon the Chiefs will win the Hunt Trophy for him.
I grew up watching the chiefs,I started watching them at 10 years old. I loved them and Mr. Hunt was a very extrodinary man, you all should be very proud of him!! He did what he loved. If I could be just half of what he was I would have accomplish something I never thought. The world shall miss him.
To Lamar & the Hunts: I can't begin to tell you the effect you have had on my life. I'm 45 and in 1963 when I was 18 months old, my family moved to KC the same year the Chiefs moved from Dallas. I can say I've been a Chiefs fan my whole life. We attended games & had season tickets ever since. There is no place like Arrowhead Stadium, but it will never be quite as full without you. You were a class man and ran a class organization. I have lived in Florida, Illinois, Maryland & now Pittsburgh, but wherever I've been there have been Chiefs fans. What a tribute to you that we all feel that the Chiefs are the best team in pro sports. Thank you for giving us all a reason to hold our head high and walk with pride. I wish you could have held the Lombardi trophy one more time before you left us. Your accomplishments were legendary and you'll never be forgotten. Thank you so much for giving us the Chiefs!
A true legend and gentleman who will be greatly missed, but we will celebrate his life and what he has done not only for the game of football but for people and the community as well.
As an adult we hopefully learn to aprreciate all that others have done for us. I know that to be true. A great man gave Kansas City alot over the years. The Kansas City Chiefs, the former Wizards and let us not forget Worlds of Fun. A remarkable man that will truly be missed, but not forgotten. Our prayers go out to the Hunt family today and always.
The Armstrong, Ayres, Heinson and Peel Families.
Dear Mr. Hunt,
We will miss you! I'm sure you will be looking down on all the Chiefs fans in the world to help cheer our beloved Chiefs to victory every time they take the field!
Rest in peace!
Thanks lamar for all the great memories. I Have been a chiefs fan now for over 30 years, And if I live 30 more I will be a chiefs fan for all of them.
Dear Hunt Family
We will miss Mr. Hunt dearly but remembering all of the good he did for football and for his family and friends will make his memory a great one. What a great person Mr. Hunt is and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
My sincere condolances to the Hunt family, friends and the entire Chiefs orginization. May the Lord pour out His amazing peace and comfort upon you.
Growing up in Kansas City and living there my entire life until exactly one month ago, I know about all the wonderful things Lamar has done for Kansas City. What a giving and caring man! Might we all continue to give and help others as Lamar exemplified.
You can take a girl out of Kansas City, but you CAN'T take Kansas City out of a girl.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
WOW what a special man, there is a big void in the world right now with his loss, but a much bigger gain in HEAVN where he is right now. I can only image what a welcome GOD must have given him personally, GOD didn't need/let St. Peter answer this door. How proud GOD must be now.
In 1963 at the age of 13 I became a life long fan of my new Kansas City Chiefs Football Team. I remember entering a poster contest for Super Bowl I. I remember listening to the Chiefs game while I was in Viet-Nam in 68-69 and how just a few months after my return from Viet-Nam while stationed at Camp Lejune I was so proud of My Chiefs winning Super Bowl IV. I remember standing in sub-zero weather in 1971, standing room only crowd at the old municipal stadium as my beloved Chiefs fell to the Miami Dolphins in a heart breaker game. So many memories I am thankful for, and they were all made available by Lamar Hunt. In these times it often seems as though everyone is in this game for the money but it was so refreshing to see someone who loved the game and treated everyone like they were his children. My prayers are with the Hunt family and my thoughts are of the man that made all my memories happen.
All I can say is Thank You
You will be missed by all
I probably admired Mr. Hunt more than any person in sports. He's the reason Kansas City has the Chiefs and he brought such dignity to every phase of the sports world he touched. The country has lost a legend and a visionary. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
He will be sorely missed by us all.
Sincerely, Mrs. Carole Lee

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
I will always remember Lamar Hunt, as he was on many Braniff flights that I was on from DFW/MCI in coach with his suit bag. Such a great fellow and he will certainly be missed in KC.
To the Hunt Family,
Thank you for sharing Lamar with us for all of these years, he truly made a wonderful impact in the Kansas City area.
Congratulations To Mr. Hunt (Lamar),
God loves you.
Though Mr. Hunt, Lamar, does not or did not know me personally I cannot help but say that seen reported elsewhere of his accomplisments toward the current NFL and its' existence and it thought that his crowning achievement I cannot help but remember the joy he brought with his brother to me risking a fortune even as I remember to back, create, see broadcast The WCT.
I cannot explain the true significance of this but to this day and it no more as it had become that accomplisment far outranks any other 3 letters except God.
Job well done. Rest given and deserved.
Many should be thankful.
well i grew up in hamilton mo.and now live in nashville tn but got to meet MR. HUNT a few years ago and not a nicer man will there be thank you so much for all you did
To Lamar's family and friends,
My family amd I are so sorry to hear about your loss. He was such a wonderful and gracious man ever since we met him through our dear friend, Jack Steadman, over 40 years ago. Thank you for everything you have done and that your family will continue to do. From your fans in Canada!
Thank you for making us proud to be from Kansas City...wherever we live.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hunt almost 10 years ago to the day today 12/16/06. Our Chiefs were playing the Chargers in S.D. and I had flown out for the game. My cousin and I were standing in the Chiefs Hotel parking lot the night before the game and Mr. Hunt and Jack Steadman drive up, and when they exit the car, I notice who it is, and I say Hello Mr. Hunt, he walks over to me and extends his hand and asked if I was a Chiefs fan from Calif. and I said No Sir. I flew out here for the Game from K.C. He thanked me for being a loyal fan, and asked me if we were going to win, I said yes, but we lost that fun and exciting game. I was so impressed that he came up to me a common person who he did not know, and took the time to speak and Thank me for supporting the team. He will be greatly missed. God Bless the Hunt Family, and our Team.
Thank you for the best Birthday present ever, a ticket to the Christmas Day Game between KC and Miami. Thanks for the many years of reading Ebony and seeing more African American players for the Chiefs than two or three other teams combined. It did wonders for a little kid in tough times. God Bless You Mr. Hunt!
Thank you Mr Hunt, for everything you have given to the sports world and to the people of Kansas City. You were one of kind and will be deeply missed.
Thanks Lamar for all the memories!!! ... back in the late 70's when the stands at Arrowhead were pretty empty, a group of my friends & I had tickets in the upper end zone (Section 312 Row 3)... we were the only ones that sat there, so there weren't any concession stands or restrooms open on that level (we had to go down to the first level) ... one Sunday night after a very cold game (and a loss - which was very common in those days), we called Lamar in Dallas to ask about getting at least one restroom open on our level ... he apologized & the very next game there were two open ... and he called us back to be sure it was taken care of ... I was so impressed he talked to us, let alone listened ... he truly cared about ALL the fans ... I was a season ticket holder for 25 years & stayed in the end zone the entire time! ... Kansas City will miss you, but will always remember you!!!
Thanks for everything Lamar! We will miss you dearly!
Mr. Hunt will always be remembered as one of the most important and influential figures in sports and we are lucky to be fans of his team.
We will remember your tremendous contributions to the Kansas City area. You were a great model of how to live life, enjoying everyone from the janitor to the CEO as a person of value and worth. We need more Lamar Hunts in this world, you will be missed
We read such wonderful things about you. But, it became a truely memorable experience when I met you in person. That 15 minutes of one-on-one conversation has stayed with me.
You were a "first person" ambassador.
As a transplanted Missourian, I just want to say thanks to Mr.Hunt!I've listened to people on TV for a couple days now and all of them have had nothing but great things to say about you, and your character. That's more of an accomplishment than anyting that can be put on a field! Thank you for what you have done for the Kansas City sports world! you will be missed!!!
Mrs. Hunt & family, My hartfelt condolences to you. We all loved Lamar, though we had never met him. my daughter, Jacque Vega knew him & we know what a wise & generous man he was. Thank you for sharing him with the world.
To The Hunt Family:
My deepest sympathy and condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers. My life was forever changed when I entered Thanksgiving Tower to interview with the Hunt Men: Lamar, Lamar Jr. and Clark. I was so nervous. From the moment I met each of you I was in awe of your grace. It was such an honor to work with you for two years. Plus, to have the opportunity to meet you, your family and friends at The Wizards and Chiefs games. They say "the apple does not fall too far from the tree", I found that to be true!
I am forever blessed to have met Lamar Hunt, his family and the dedicated employees of The Chiefs, The Wizards, The Columbus Crew, The athletes and the Fans! A Chiefs fan for 40+ years a Lamar Hunt fan for a lifetime!
God Bless you during this time of grief.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt family in their time of mourning. I have been a Chiefs fan all my life. Players have come and gone but Lamar has been a main stay. Thank you for everything you have done for us Lamar, and more importantly, thank you for being the man you were. It's highly doubtful that anyone could possibly live their live with more honsety, modesty, humility, or grace. Few will ever have such a profound impact on so many lives, and leave such a lasting legacy. The world truly is a better place, simply because you once walked on it. You will be deeply missed by all of us.

Lamar was one of the finest persons that anyone could ever know. He was an innovator and visionary. He was special to all who knew and worked with him and he will be missed in so many walks of life. Lamar was one of a kind, just like the "Super Bowl" that he named!
Sincere condolences to the entire Family.
Heartfelt condolences to the Hunt Family. What a great proponent of all sports and a fine man. Not many owners would mingle with his fans like this gentleman did! No doubt he will be watching the NFL playoffs from above with great interest.
Many thanks Lamar! Much respect!
Thank You Lamar Hunt for your humanity, sportmanship and vision for not only understanding the bigger picture in sports but the way to conduct it so everyone wins. A gentleman, a fan, a business person, and a great human being. May God bless the Hunt Family during this time. Lamar Hunt was one of a kind and will be missed.

You brought joy and meaning to me at a youthful impressionable age.
My condolences to the Hunt family during this difficult time.
Being a CHIEFS fan, I have always been aware of the contributions Mr. Hunt made to the world of football. However, I was not completely aware of how many other things he accomplished. If only more people had Mr. Hunt's ambition & spirit, this world would be a better place.
My first trip to Arrowhead is in a few weeks & I am sure it won't be the same without him.
Thank You Mr. Hunt for doing so much for so many people. You will never be forgotten and will definitely be missed.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.
Sure hate to lose the good ones like Mr. Hunt.
God Bless Lamar Hunt and his family!
As a young boy my father would take me to Chiefs games. He would tell me how the Chiefs came about and what a wonderful man Lamar was. He would always point out Lamar to me on the field before games, before ever pointing out players to me. Now, at the age of 37, I've had the privelege of being a season ticket holder for the past 14 years. It sure won't be the same not seeing Lamar on the field anymore, but the spirit of Lamar will always be with us at Arrowhead Stadium. Thank You Lamar for all you have done for sports in general and most of all for the Kansas City Chiefs! GO CHIEFS!
Thank you Lamar for all you've done for Kansas City and sports in general. What a wonderful, humble and classy man. We were fortunate to have you as owner of the Chiefs. My sympathies to your wife, children and grandchildren. May God bless and be with each of them. You'll be dearly missed.

To the Hunt family,
I am 53 years old and I still remember the thrill I felt when the Kansas City Chiefs played their first game. I have been a fan all these years and will be for whatever time is left to me. I cannot find the words to express how much I appreciate what Lamar Hunt did for this city. He was a giant among men. I don't know his religious beliefs, but I believe that Jesus came to the gate to welcome Lamar in personally.
As a life long Chiefs fan, there are two memories that stand out among many over the past 4 decades. The first was huddling around the TV in Banning, CA and watching my uncles fend off the start of Christmas dinner until our 1971 playoff game with the Dolphins had reached its gripping conclusion. The second was a few years later during the lean times when our Super Bowl victory seemed (then) light year’s away. Frustrated with our direction I sent a letter to the club with some ideas for improvement. A short time later I received a letter-- not from One Arrowhead Drive, but from Dallas, TX. My correspondence had been forwarded to Lamar Hunt, who found the time to pen a response to my queries. Talk about your fan motivation!!!
Thanks for the leadership that has spurred many great memories Mr. Hunt, we will miss you.
I was born in Kansas City, and was a member of the Huddle Club the year the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. I've been in Colorado since 1975, and have been a reporter at two different radio stations covering the Broncos. One of the last games I covered was against the Chiefs during the last season of the old Mile High Stadium. Mr. Hunt and his wife walked by me and I said hello. He stopped to say hello back and shake my hand. I told him then "I'm an AFL guy, Mr. Hunt. He replied back "Well then, You're a good man". Thank you Mr. Hunt for bringing pro football to Kansas City and all the other cities of the AFL. God Bless You.
To Clark Hunt, the Hunt Family, friends, and K.C. Chiefs.
Lamar Hunt was a great man, and he will be sadly missed. I grew up in the K.C. afrea, Garden City, Mo., and I followed the Chiefs and Lamar since the 1960s. We must go on and live Lamar's dream
I liked your team because they were the 1st team I ever seen play way bacjk thenn. I have stuck with them. You are a legend in KC and you will be missed. Thanks for all you have done

To the Hunt family my sympathies go out to you, please remember he is in a better place.. We will all miss him I hope one day the Chiefs can get a trophy to dedeicate to him may he rest in peace!!!
Lamar Hunt was a visionary and caring person. My sister Denise Ash was a Chiefette at age 13 and I was a member of the Chief's Huddle Club. She was killed in a car accident on the way to the Chief's game September 4th, l97l. I was at college - University of Missouri - Columbia when the accident occurred. Lamar Hunt set up a scholarship in her name for the "Chiefette" of the year. He did this for ten years until the Chiefettes were changed to the older Chief cheerleaders. I will always appreciate how kind he was and the exciting times I have experienced at the Chief's games. Our family has been Chief Season ticket holders since the Chiefs came to KC in l963. I will always remember Lamar Hunt for the great accomplishments he has brought to Kansas City and the kindness he has shown my family. Sincerely, Steven & wife - Denice Ash and family.
I have heard so many people speak highly of Mr. Hunt and what he did for the Kansas City area. I never had the privilege of knowing him personally, but would like to extend my condolences to his family members. Please be assured you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time for each of you.
As the ex-wife of a former KC Chiefs player and SMU grad, my children and I had the good fortune to know Lamar. We were deeply saddened by his passing and will never forget his kindness and his desire to include the family of players as part of the Chiefs family. He was one of a kind.
To the Hunt family goes the deepest sympathy for their loss, Mr. hunt will always be a great man and a great pioneer in what is and yet to come in sports, we will miss him dearly but we will always see the results of his work. God Speed, and our thoughts are with you Mr. Hunt.
You did so much for the community. You will be in the hearts of the all the players and people in Kansas City. You are admired by so many still. My condolences to the Hunt family.
To the Hunt family,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with us. His legacy will always be remembered. God will help you through this. Remember, our loss is heaven's gain.
The Raider Nation salutes a great man in Lamar Hunt.
Our condolences to his family and the fans of Kansas City Chiefs.
My deepest sympathies pour out to the Hunt family. It is so hard when you lose a loved one.
I can say what hundreds of people have already said about this man. All I want to say to Mr. Lamar is "Thank You" for doing so much for the city of Kansas City. You will be missed.
Kansas City has lost another legend in Lamar Hunt. May God guide his family, friends, KC fans to comfort. I have only been away from KC about 1 1/2 years, so I know that Lamar Hunt did so much for the KC area and his devoted love for the Kansas City Chiefs organization. They will always be my #1 team! He will live in our hearts forever. Thank you, Mr. Hunt and look down on us (the people of Kansas City). You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
you were amazing Lamar Hunt and i appreciate everything you ever did for us. you always cared about the fans, im just sorry that our team could never get it together enough to get you one more super bowl. the next time we win one, its for you. you will be missed and have gone down as a legend. thank you for everything you did. rest in peace
To the Hunt Family,
My most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to to you at this time. May God bless and keep you at this time, and may Lamar's legacy endure forever.
I was a Hockaday friend to Sharron and I remember her father well.Best wishes to the family at this difficult time.
December 15, 2006
To the Hunt family, friends and K.C. Chiefs,
Lamar Hunt was very involved in the sports world along with his businesses. He did so much for Kansas City. Lamar was successful in everything he did. We are blessed by his being apart of our lives.
To the Hunt Family: As we all know there was none that served the KC community better than Lamar. My father, Ray Evans, was blessed to have been his friend through the Chiefs Association and through my father I had the pleasure of knowing the Hunt family. He was incredible man and the most thoughtful person I have ever known. May he rest in peace but his memory will live on.
To the Hunt family, friends, KC fans and the Cheifs -
We have all lost a great man and Icon of Kansas City. Each of us are deeply sadden for this loss. Mr. Hunt had an extremely kind and caring hearts for everyone. Thank you Mr. Hunt for sharing your love with others. Let us all continue sharing the love that he gave us with others. You will never been forgotten.
I worked in the Kansas City Chiefs pressbox for about 10 years. Mr. Hunt is the most noble and sincere man you would ever meet. My condolence to the Hunt Family and the entire Chiefs organization.
Lamar Hunt was a very great and caring person. My daughter Denise Ash was one of the youngest "Chiefettes" ever selected to dance at the Chiefs games. She was killed in a car accident on the way to the Chiefs game September 4th, l97l. Lamar Hunt graciously honored my daughter's memory by having a scholarship in her name for the "Chiefette" of the year that was picked by the girls. He did this for ten years until they changed the format from Chiefettes to the cheerleaders now. I will always appreciate how kind he was. They also presented me with her "Chiefette" Pin. Our family has been Chief Season ticket holders since the Chiefs came to town in l963. I wear the Chiefette Pin to all the games for luck of course. Lamar Hunt and his family will always be in our families thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Janice Ash and family.
So sorry to hear of Lamar's passing. His was truly a unique personality and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
Sincerest sympathies to the Hunt family. Your loss is not only felt by all Chief fans around the world, it's been felt around the NFL as well. Visionaries such as Lamar never blow their horn, they just get it done. As a life long Chief fan, I'll always remember Mr. Hunt's personal touch with everyone he met.
WE HAVE LOST A REAL GENTLEMAN. THANKS LAMAR FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR KANSAS CITY. wE NEED MORE LIKE YOU!
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt family. Mr. Hunt will be missed. God Bless.
If only thinking of others before yourself was a common trait in todays age. you Mr. Hunt sure had it. you will be missed. the Kansas City community will never fill the void left by your legacy.
there arent words to express the sorrow felt across the NFL today.im 43 and have been a chiefs fan all my life and for that im eternally grateful to mr lamar hunt.its often said the measure of a man is not what he takes but rather what he leaves.lamar has left us far better than we were before he arrived.as sad as this occassion is,forever will i celebrate the life of our visionary, lamar hunt.thank you for all you have given.
Kansas City is a greater thing, a greater community for Mr. Hunt's contribution. I wish my condolences to his family, close friends and former sports team's player who knew Mr. Hunt. My life was altered, forever, the day Otis Taylor ran past the Viking defense for the score. I adore Kansas City, I adore watching the Chiefs, this means I adore Lamar Hunt. Rest In Peace, sir.
We as fans will never be able to thank
the Hunt family enough for what they
have done for Kansas City and NFL.
So on that note I would like to just
say R.I.P. Mr. Lamar Hunt
Thank goodness for geniune humanitarians like Lamar Hunt. I will miss seeing his never ending smile on TV. He made me feel as though you knew him even if you've never had the privlege to meet him. I pray for his family and friends throughout the world to help give them peace during this difficult time.
Thank you for all you have done and all the memories that you have given. GOD BLESS! Go CHIEFS!
Sincere condolences to The Lamar Hunt Family.
I am originally from Southern CA but now reside in Kansas City MO for the last 20 years. To the Family of Lamar Hunt Our condolences go out to each & everyone of you on the loss of a "True Icon" in the World of Sports" and will be missed by all.
Thank you for leaving Kansas City with a legacy that will be hard to match. Your involvement in the city as a community well as sports will leave a lasting mark for years to come.
You brought CLASS to Kansas City, the NFL and this part of the country which sometimes gets overlooked. It was wonderful watching the Chiefs win Supperbowl IV when I was young and I became a Chiefs fan forever. Still a season ticket hold since 1989. God bless you Lamar.
Condolences to Mr. Hunt's family and friends. He'll be greatly missed by Chiefs fans and football fans alike. Thanks to Mr. Hunt for creating such a great family atmosphere at Arrowhead so Chiefs football fever is passed from generation to generation.
I remember in the 60's when my dad would bring me to Swope Park and watch the Chiefs practice and get their autographs. Lamar is there with my dad now and I'm sure my father is talking about how he loved everything Lamar did for KC. Thanks Lamar, you have made KC a great place to live.
I deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Hunt's passing. His legacy affected me greatly; I was raised watching the Chiefs ever since I was a little girl and remain a dedicated fan of this great football team. God Bless.
Thank you for all you have done for others. What you have done in you short life will live on forever in the lives of others.
I am so honored to share your name. Rest peacfully and keep that light shinning.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Hunt this summer in Frisco, TX working as an intern for FC Dallas. He showed the same respect and interest in an intern like me as he would any high ranking executive. I told him I went to K-State and we talked KSU football for a bit. The fact that he cared about what I had to say and took time out his busy schedule for me shows what kind of caring man he was. He will be missed.
Sports fans across the country owe Mr. Hunt a tremendous ovation for his lifetime acheivements. My helmet is off for his passing!
Thank you Mr Hunt! God Bless you and your Family.
May God Bless You, your an ICON In Kansas City. Thank You
I live, breathe and sleep Chiefs' Football because of you, Thank you for all the memories and looking forward to the future.May your son he half the man you are then KC will be in good hands for years to come.
It's too bad more owners in other sports as well don't carry themselves like Mr. Hunt did. I always prided myself into telling friends and what not how great the owner of my favorite football team since I was 5 is. I wish you all the best during such a hard time and hopefully many will respect your privacy through such a difficult time. Thank you for all that Mr. Hunt has done. The NFL would not be what it is today without him. God Bless....
25 years ago, I was a 16 year old who worked at Worlds of Fun with the responsibility of keeping the Cotton Blossom River Boat clean. One day, Lamar Hunt and others were walking down the stairs of the Cotton Blossom as I was walking up them. He stopped to shake my hand and introduced himself to me. Of course, I knew who he was and realizing this was intimidated and struggled making small talk. He continued to shake my hand and introduced himself to me one more time. All I could muster was a nervous, "It's nice to meet you Mr. Hunt" response. After he left, I realized I never gave him my name. I scold myself to this day, because I think he wanted me to tell him my name. That small encounter has had a lasting impression on me. He revealed what a GREAT man he was by making a point to be cordial to anyone and attempt to make them comfortable with him. He really had no reason to do so. His accomplishments in life are profound and well documented. In my mind, his greatest accomplishment had to do with the way he was with people and his humble approach towards life. I will miss the greatness that was found within Lamar Hunt!!
THE "SUPERMAN" OF FOOTBALL IS NOW PLAYING IN THE BIG SUPERBOWL! THANK GOD FOR PEOPLE LIKE MR. HUNT.
I'll always remember seeing you walking through the Arrowhead parking lots and your personal visit to our tailgate. Even more, the opportuinity to shake your hand. What amazed me was your unpretentious manner; just look at all the entries addressing you as Lamar not a more formal 'Mr. Hunt' You were such a real and down to earth person. For everything you gave to so many - thanks Lamar!
I did not know you but my daughter worked for you at FC Dallas. Your integrity and kindness always overwhelmed her. She was so very proud to have worked for you and to have known such a great man. She is deeply saddened by your death but honored to have personally known you. Thank you for guiding her and through you she learned the true meaning of integrity.
He was a great person who left a legacy in the sports world and in everday life.
I have always been and will always be a loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan and am forever grateful to Lamar Hunt and his family for all the years of excitement and entertainment he has shared and provided for us. I did not know him personally, but share in the loss of a great individual who meant so much to so many people. He brought dignity, honesty and respect to the sport of Professional Football and was a shining example that all NFL owners could learn a lot from. My most sincere condolences to the Hunt family and the Dallas Texan / Kansas City Chiefs family & friends.
God bless you Lamar, you will never be forgotten by this humble Wichita Chief's fan.
Heaven has become brighter with its newest star. What Mr. Hunt has given, not only this city and its people but the entire country, will be something that will live with us forever. You fought a good fight, now rest well
A great man and a humble man also.
God Bless You!
I have been a fan of Mr. Hunt since I was a teenager. We all will miss him. God bless the family.
TO Lamar Hunt Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.May God
contuine to bless you all. Much Love
My deepest condolences to the Hunt family.
Thank you for all you've done for the city and fans of Kansas City. To the Hunt family please accept my heartfelt condolences. If there is any shining moment in your grief, then I hope it is the memory of the lasting legacy Mr. Hunt has given to the fans of many sport.
May God Bless and keep you,
You have done many great things in your lifetime. May you rest in peace Mr. Hunt.
I am sadden by Mr. Hunt's passing. I was a member of the original Dallas Texan football club from 1960 to 1962. Though I was a young teenager he brought a brand of football that was exciting to watch. One of the few die-hards that endured the uncomfortable seating of the Cotton Bowl's many splintered benches the Texans were my team in Dallas. Though we were few in attendance the camaraderie we experienced among the spectators was of a time never to be recaptured again. I remembered your father H.L. Hunt sitting out in front of his porch (White Rock area) when I visited the lake on many weekends. Those were of my most happiest memories when I lived in Dallas in the fifties and sixties. My sorrow goes out to the family of Mr. Hunt, and if it is any comfort to the family I suffer along with you too. My lamp will dim tonight.
Thank you Mr. Lamar Hunt.
Dear Hunt family,God be with you in your time of grive. I will never forget this kind man and the wonderful things he did for us Texans.
As a KC native, I remember when this man brought his team and shared his life with us. I was a Jr. in high school.
I never met Mr. Hunt, but now at age 59... I sit here & cry.
Sgt. Don Lauffer
May God bless your family in this time of need and may you rest in heaven. We are all better people having known you.

Thank you, Mr. Hunt, for all you did for Kansas City. I remember the early days with the Chiefs administrative offices at 63rd and Lewis Rd in Swope Park. My own dad would lift me up to see over the concrete wall that surrounded the practice field so I could watch the team practice. We also attended games at Municipal Stadium. Now, I take my family to games at the BEST venue in all of sports, Arrowhead Stadium. Those special memories of past and present would never be possible without you bringing the Texans to Kansas City and naming them the Chiefs. Again, thank you for everything. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
My father back in the late 60’s was an official for the then USLTA. He negotiated with Mr. Hunt over bringing the “Handsome Eight” pro tennis players into what was an amateur only Forrest Hills United States Championship. He, Mr. Hunt and Slew Hester stayed in a hotel room in New York City for three days knocking an agreement out that would lead to what people know today as the U.S. Open. Mr. Hunt demanded a larger venue for his players thus Flushing Meadows and all its wonderful tennis stadiums such as Arthur Ashe and Armstrong were born. This has become such a part of New York and the ending of summer, and I hear few people if any that realized Lamar Hunt had a large part in it. My father was a man more impressed with character than position. He left that meeting very impressed with Mr. Hunt. This world is a better place because of his contributions. May his soul rest in peace
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MR. HUNT. WITH YOUR LEADERSHIP AND FINESSE YOU LED THE AFC TO DOMINATE THE NFL, AND SET THE BAR HIGH AS AN EXAMPLE OF A TRUE SPORTSMAN.
Thank you for all the positive things you have accomplished for Kansas City. Your legacy will always be remembered.
My Families' relationship with the Hunt family began in the Chiefs first season. Our seats were directly behind the Hunts'in old Municipal Stadium. My Father, Dutton Brookfield, on one occassion, invited his old friend and famous KC Artist, Thomas Hart Benton. Benton had never seen a Pro football game, he was "fascinated with the spectacle and with the game itself." The relationship from that game, Lamar invited Tom to come to practices, and veiw a game from the sidelines, which in itself was worrisome because of Benton's stature of 5'3". He was also no longer a young man.
From this experience, Tom forged a bronze titled "Forward Pass" and from that a lithograph that we still prize today.
When the old stadium was no longer useful for a now successful NFL Franchise, My father, Dutton was chosen to Chair the first Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. The process was difficult, but always rewarding because of the special relationship that was built in the early years at the old Stadium.
The Brookfield Family will never forget what a special person Lamar was and we will keep him in our thoughts always. Thanks for being our Friend!
The Family of Dutton Brookfield
Thanks Mr.Hunt for all the great things you did for the NFL and all the people you helped.I know your up there with Hank,Delaney,DT and many more greats talking about football. God Bless

The world is a darker place with his passing. The contributions that Lamar Hunt made to the world as a sportsman, philanthropist, and just as a human being can never be emphasized enough.
His passing is proof that there is a God....and that he wants football in heaven.
God bless you Mr Hunt.
I'm sure you are in a better place where you belong.

Having known such a wonderful and kind indiviual made me a better person. I cannot remember a time when there was not a smile on Lamar's face. Glad we were friends. Truly, a great man.

My dearest sympathies go out to the Hunt family on the loss of Lamar, but know his legacy will live on. Thanks Mr. Hunt, for all you have done for sports, business and philantropy here in K.C. and beyond. You will be missed, but your presence will be felt for years to come.
It is such a rare thing to find the loyalty that Lamar Hunt displayed to not only this city, his teams, his family, his friends, and millions of people who were simply fans. He gave us that wonderful feeling of "security" in knowing that year after year, the Chiefs would remain in Kansas City and Mr. Hunt would be an integral part of our city's heritage. May God bless Clark for trying to step into those shoes.
Mr. Hunt and Family - Thank you for all you have done for Kansas City and sports fans everywhere. You are truly one of a kind. Please accept our sincere condolences. God bless you and your family.
Mr. Lamar Hunt. Thank you for being a visionary that will continue to impact many generations to come. Your influence and foresight has made life better for all. We in the Heart of America have a lot of respect for you.
Thank you, Lamar, for bringing so much love, friendship, and entertainment to so many. The organization is the finest in sports, in its ideals, its commitment to the community, in its humanity. This is reflected in the number of good guy awards won by players, and that always comes from the top down. Win or lose, the Chiefs are the best franchise in all of sports, period. That is a direct reflection of who Lamar Hunt was as a human being.
No other person has left such a mark on professional sports as Lamar Hunt. God Bless. RIP sir
We in the Culver community are very sorry for the loss of Mr. Hunt. He was a wonderful man and we are very proud that we was a 1942 Culver Woodcraft Camp graduate. All honor to his name.
Thank you for all you've done for football, sports in general and for making opportunities for all peoples in your organizations. Your life has improved both Dallas and Kansas City. I wish I had known you personally and that you hadn't left us so soon.

Thanks for everything you have done in regards to sports in the Kansas City area and in the nation. Being a socceer fan in the area I send a special thanks your way for bringing the Wizards to the area. You are truely a class act and you will be missed more than you could ever imagine.
As a high school student in the 1960's when the Chiefs were moved to Kansas City I began a life long addiction to the Chiefs. As an adult I have lived in many places but I have always and will always remain a Chiefs fan. This is not only because of the team but also because of what Lamar Hunt has done for the Kansas City area. He was a great man that will be missed by all.
Our condolences goes out to the Hunt's family during the Homecoming of Mr. Lamar Hunt, a man (a Gaint in the football arena) who will be truly missed by Kansas City, the Kansas City Chiefs entire organization, and many of fans all across the nation. May God continue to shine upon your family and don't look at this being a lost because the love will always be in your hearts. Focus on all of the great and loving memories Mr. Lamar Hunt left behind. God Bless You All
You have and will always continue to hold a very special place in my heart. May God Bless you and your family, as you get to look at the Chiefs play football from the best seat in the house. You are going to be missed my friend. The Chiefs will live on, in your vision.

Poem:Treasures In You:Author Unkown
There are treasures in life, but owners are few of money and power to buy things brand new.Yet you can be wealthy and feel regal too,If you will just look for the treasures in you. These treasures in life are not hard to find when you look in you heart, your soul, and your mind. For when yoe are willing to share whats within,Your fervent search for riches will end.The joy and the laughter, the smile that you bring; The heart unafraid to love and to sing; The hand always willing to help those in need;Ones quick to reach out,to labor and feed.So thank you for sharing these great gifts inside; The caring, the cheering, the hug when one cried. Thanks for the energy, encouragement too,And thank you for sharing the treasures in you.THANK YOU MR. HUNT FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE.
The purist form of greatness does not require a reminder in its presence. Thank you for being " KC's Greatest !"
my sympathy to the hunt family and the entire chiefs football organisation lamar will be greatly missed by ALL football fans. he contributed a great deal to the KC fans all over the country.. god be with you and let you shine in heaven as you did here
I am but a common man. Lamar Hunt was the most uncommon of men. His contributions to the NFL may never be equaled, but his legacy is of his humanity and kindness. Thank you for everything Mr. Hunt.
thanks mr. hunt, always achiefs fan win or lose,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sadness. I was very fortunate to have known Lamar Hunt. He was a great man and the world has lost their #1 Chief. I have proudly grown up as a die hard KC fan in a world surrounded by Cowboys. I will remain as I have always been -a die hard Chiefs fan! I hope Lamar will soon be sitting down and having pie with my mother. I know she will be glad to see him.
To the family of Lamar Hunt,
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your loved one. The sport of football, especially owes much to him. His vision and his spirit is evident and will live forever. The truest example of humbleness and greatness. All of of us will miss him, and the world is a better place
because of him. Thanks Mr. Hunt!!!
To the family of Mr. Hunt. He was the most admirable man in Kansas City for the past 40+ years. We will miss him very much. My prayers are with you.
Lamar Hunt was one of the nicest men in sports. He will be missed. God be with his family at their time of mourning.
Lamar Hunt was just a great human being. His outlook on life and sports should be a model for everyone on earth to follow. He will be sadly missed by everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God Bless you all.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the Hunt family. We thank Mr. Hunt for the confidence in Kansas City annd in his team to provide many wonderful hours of exppressing a enthusiam for quality football.
the man loved the game and its fans. my greatest memory of lamar was after the chiefs lost their playoff game in 1990 or 1991. we went to the airport to meet the team along with hundreds of other fans. we were getting autographs, we wasked lamar to sign our football. his luggage was coming off the plane, he asked us to wait while he retrieved his luggage. with all the crowd and craziness going, lamar found us, set his bags and coat down, and then proceeded to sign our football. to me, it showed how much he really cared for and respected the fans of the game he so loved. it is a memory that i, as a life long chiefs fan and season ticket holder will never forget. he truly is an inspiration, and i have the greatest respect, for lamar, because he cared to honor the request of this fan even after a loss and long flight home. god bless lamar and the hunt family. my prayers go out to them, and the entire chiefs organization. lamar will truly be missed.
Thank You Mr Hunt for everything. Now you won't have to miss any more games 'cause they get great reception up in heaven.
Thank you Mr Hunt for all the greatness you brought to Kansas City and surrounding area. We know your with a new team now, with Hank Stram as your coach, D. T. as your linebacker, and Joe Delany as your running back. You will be missed but we will never forget you .
To quote Coach Edwards, "You lived your life to make a difference." And, in doing so, are an inspiration and mentor to all of us. You are truly one of a kind, and Kansas City is lucky to be such a large part of your legacy. God bless.
Thanks for the memories. You made a difference in so many peoples lives.
Thank you for all that you did for the NFL, and for all that you did for all sports. Your flame is one that will not be easily extinguished.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Hunt. Now you and Hank can talk about those early days again...
He took Kansas City to a new level of distinciton among cities in America. We all thank you Lamar!
Mr. Hunt, thank you so much for all you did for me and my family. Your generosity will never be forgotten. You were a true gentleman and an example for all of us on how to conduct ourselves.
Since moving to the USA in 1995 and becoming both an NFL and Chiefs fan (now season ticket holder), the name I kept hearing as I learned the game was Lamar Hunt. At the same time, I never heard anyone say anything but good things. I envy those who were privileged to know you, Mr.Hunt. I love football, and I thank you for helping create the game I love to watch.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
Lamar, thank you for everything! I have been a KC Chief fan since 1965 and appreciate all you have done to make our life's more enjoyable. You will be sorely missed! God bless you!!
As a True Bronco fan, I am sorry to lose a true football fan. You brought alot of respect and compassion to the game. If every owner loved the game more than the money, as you, the NFL would be a better place. You will be sadly missed Lamar!
God Bless you Brother Hunt and guide your family during their morning of your passing. Yea as ye walk through the shadow of the valley of death ye shall fear no evil, for thou art with you!
AEKDB and Mahalo for being such an inspiration to so many Kappa Sigmas, and other men.

Mr. Hunt I Still remeber Watching Superbowl IV In Tucson, On A Black & White T.V. K.C's Always been my hometown,You Put K.C. on the Map. Establised the A.F.L.Gave AFl Players Reitirement And The Housten Texans Their Name-(The Works)- I Hope K.C. puts that Doee on Arrowhead like you Wanted) God Bless You. Everyone loved You. Joseph Terrazas, Galveston, Texas
I had hoped that we (Kansas City) could have provided Mr. Hunt with a gift prior to this day. Another Superbowl, a better ...no much better stadium; could have shown some appreciation to his legacy. Afterall not many Kansas Citians are not die-hard Chief fans. The Chiefs make Kansas City exciting. The economic impact of the Chiefs may not be understood and that prevents progress in many ways; but Big League cities find a way to support the arts, academics and sports. With the Chiefs we (Kansas City) are prominent in sports.
I saw Mr. Hunt at BPU one day and I wish he knew how excited I was just to get a glimpse of this man of stature. It was suprising to see how modestly he behaved. He definitely seemed kind-hearted.
After knowing Derrick Thomas well and knowing his desires for a Superbowl, I guess some things don't come when we want them. But Thank You to the Hunt family for your dedication to Kansas City. Alike the Kaufmann Family, Kansas City won't be much without you and I'm positive that you'll never be forgotten.
I believe that the character of the owner influences every aspect of a franchise. Living in exile near Oakland has only made me prouder to be a Chiefs fan. Thanks, Mr. Hunt.
My Prayers are with the Hunt Family. Kansas City will be forever grateful to Lamar Hunt for everything he brought to the city. God Bless.
Thank you for making the NFL, professional tennis and soccer what it is today. But most of all thanks for always exhibiting class and treating everyone with respect. You were the model sports owner and will be missed.
You are missed already. You were a visionary, gentle leader, a warm human being. A GREAT asset to the world of sports and humanity.
Lamar, thank you for everything you have done for Kansas City. Your example is unmatched. I especially want to thank you for our beloved Chiefs. I'm looking forward to telling my 2-year-old son about you someday. We will never forget you.
Thank you Lamar, for letting me spend time with my parents at Arrowhead on many Sunday afternoons.I was just a young boy when the stadium opened, and I still to this day, spend those afternoons with them. Thanks for giving me a team to cheer for week after week.
May you rest in peace.
Lamar Hunt was THE symbol of character and integrity of our time, and represented all that was good and decent in this world. He was an incredible combination of intelligence, creativity, compassion and honesty. He was truly a living legend, and he will be deeply missed. Long live his memory.
Thank you for bringing the Chiefs to Kansas City. You made so many
dreams come true for all boys who grew up in the KC area. Thank you for all the memories and for securing the Chiefs future in KC for so many
years to come. You named the Chiefs after H. Roe Bartle, the founding
Chieftain of the Great Tribe of Mic-O-Say, the honor Boy Scout program
in the Heart of America Council. Thank you for always being one of us.
One of the everyday people of KC!
Thank you for all you've done, for KC and the world!! A person like this is rare these days. God bless.
May God bless your soul for all eternity. Many thanks for all the numerous contributions you have made to football and other sports and for other community endeavors. May your family continue the traditions you have started so unselfishly and for your love of all people regardless of skin color. The excitement of the game that you have brought to the Greater Kansas City area is wonderful!
Lamar...you were a great owner and a class act. Thank you for bringing the Chiefs to Kansas City. When the Chiefs win the Super Bowl in the not too distant future I know you will have a front row seat. RIP Mr. Hunt.
I was in third grade when you brought the Chiefs to KC; I was a Sr. in HS @ OPHS when we won "Superbowl IV"; Never new you, but I loved you. God Bless You.
Thanks for all that you have done for football and so much more.you will be missed!
You were a wonderful man with a wonderful visoin...the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only were you a part of the team, you defined the idea of what Kansas City football was all about. You will forever be respected and loved in Kansas City.
I just want to thank you for everything you have done in your life that molded many sports into what they are today. Without you, many many people would have missed unforgetable experiences that were made possible because of you. Thank you and God bless
Lamar Hunt spent his life bringing people hapiness and excitement, and that is the hallmark of a life well spent. He is an inspiration to many, and his family has a great deal to be proud of. Good journey, Mr. Hunt.
My condelenses to all of Lamar's family and friends. He definitely made the world a better place. I will always be a Chiefs fan!
Deepest Sympathy To The Hunt Family,
and to the fans of the Chiefs, and to the people of Kansas City.
We will all miss Lamar!!!
What a ride you gave us, we will never forget.Thank you for all you have given everyone else.
We will miss Lamar Hunt. We lived in K.C. back in the early 70s and saw the Chiefs win a Super Bowl. We have been hooked on the Chiefs ever since even while living on the west ooast. There was no better owner in all of sports than Lamar Hunt.
May God Bless and comfort the Hunt family in this time of sorrow. Lamar Hunt has done so much for the Kansas City community, and professional sports (football) especially that we are all endebted to him. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace Lamar.
Thank you so much. You have touched my life. If it wernt for the Kansas City Chiefs, I probably wouldn't have watched or played football for 10 yrs. You gave me a hobby, sport, and event to look forward too. God bless you and I'm sure God had a vision of you up with him right now. :)
THANKS MR.HUNT FOR BRINGING US OUR FIRST SUPER BOWL.MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AT ALL TIMES. GO CHIEFS WIN ONE FOR MR.HUNT !!!!
To Mr. Hunt's family, my condolances. To Mr Hunt, thank you. Thank you for placing a professional football team in Kansas City and for your commitment to keep it there even though you could have probably made more by moving it to other more lucrative markets. Thank you for being such a class person, whom players and coaches respected so much that they often mentioned you as a major reason that they would stay on or return to K.C. Thank you for demonstating to the team, the organization and the entire K.C. community that you can be successful in business, and indeed in life, and yet still show kindness, compassion and caring for others.

Thank you for everything you have done Lamar. The league and the world is a better place because of you. You were a great, kind man. We will all miss you.
When our ship came back to San Diego following the first Gulf War, Lamar Hunt set aside more than 250 seats for military personnel for the Chiefs-Chargers game. What a wonderful life. What a wonderful human being.
I remember listening to the Chiefs-Dolphins Championship game in the front yard throwing the ball to my brother pretending to be Len Dawson to his Otis Taylor. The Chiefs were always the good guys...that was in large reflection because Lamar was always the good guy. The Chiefs and Lamar were the American story...dream big and keep working and greatness could follow. Lamar you will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt family. Lamar gave us the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City in turn gave him our hearts. A great man, a huge loss

Thanks Lamar Hunt! you will be greatly missed
I was born in Kansas City and have such fond childhood memories of listening to Chiefs games every Sunday by the radio when you could'nt catch them on local TV. I'm talking 60's era here. My son became a big Chiefs fan although he was born here in Texas. Thanks for the classy example you set for everyone and thanks for bringing the franchise to K.C. Thanks for the memories...

Thank you Lamar, you've had such a big impact on my life - your contributions to SMU, my alma mater, where my daughter is now attending to play soccer! I fell in love with tennis at the WCT's and have so many memories at the Cotton Bowl cheering our Ponies to victory. Your legacy will live on.

I had the honor of meeting Lamar and Norma Hunt at a preseason tailgate party in Minneapolis. He signed my Chiefs Superbowl Sports Illustrated, that I will always cherish. Thanks Lamar for all you did for the great sport of football. Your legend lives on.
Thanks, Lamar, for bringing the Chiefs to KC. But thank you, most of all for being an ordinary man. When I was 14 years old you introduced yourself to me and my family out at Worlds of Fun. I remember you talking to us just like we were your friends. We will miss your common touch and your contributions to KC.
Chiefs football has been at the center of so many wonderful memories in my family, thank you Lamar.

Thank you Mr.Hunt for the creation of the greatest league of them all, The American Football League. Without your vision my team, the Oakland Raiders, would have never existed. I saw your Dallas Texans play in their inaugural game, July 31, 1960, at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco against the Raiders. I bestow upon you the highest accolade given to a person. You, Mr.Hunt are a gentleman.
Thanks for the memories Lamar. We will all miss you!

A million times we will cry.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone,
Part of us went with you,
The day God called you home."

Thanks are not enough for what Lamar has done for KC and the NFL. My deepest sympathies to the family at this time. The world would be a better place if everyone was like him. May the torch be carried on through Clark. There is a big void in KC at this time, losing three great icons....Ewing Kaufman, Buck O'Neil and now Lamar. We have been blessed to have such great ownership here and confident it will continue with Clark. The best tribute and honor to Lamar is to keep the Chiefs in KC forever, as he will forever be in our hearts and memories. May he rest in peace and God Bless the family, friends, Chiefs fans and the KC community at this difficult time.
Such a debonair man, one who I am grateful to share our world with. Mr. Hunt you will be missed but always remain in KC's hearts and minds. May the Lord comfort your family.
Thank you Lamar for being the class of the NFL!! You will be missed and remembered!!
This old time San Diego Chargers /AFL fan gives thanks to Lamar Hunt for being a pioneer that brought the sport to us in San Diego via Los Angeles. Without him, many of us would never have seen a Chiefs-Chargers game and allof us become Raider haters!
You brought quality to the AFL and had many admirers. I always enjoyed visiting with your dad during the Texas State Fair.
Thank you very much for the enjoyment that you have brought to all Chiefs Fans. You were one of a kind. Say hello to my dad for me.
Despite now living in "Packer county", we have remained true Chiefs fans through the good and the bad, proudly displaying the red and gold. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of sorrow.
My late father was Dr. Albert R. Miller, Chiefs team physician from 1963 to 1982. I will forever remember the kindness Mr. Hunt had shown to my family, even as late as this last September when my late father was honored by his medicial school in KC. It was an honor and a privledge to have grown up with the Chiefs and a man who showed to me that no matter your station in life, you just treat pepole with common decency. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Norma Hunt and the family...
My condolences to every one in Kansas City. Mr. Hunt was a visionary and the world would not be the same without him in it. God Bless
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I grew up in Kansas City. As a kid I can remember my grandfather taking me to see the Chiefs at the old Memorial stadium. As the years past and I grew older, I continued my visits to Arrowhead and developed many friendships that still last to this day. I would return to KC almost yearly. The gatherings in lot D were, and still are, more about friends, memories, tradition..and oh yeah..the game. I want to thank Lamar for that gift. Tomorrow I will wear Chiefs red in honor of the man who gave me, my family and friends so much.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
Kansas City mourns the loss of a great man. May God bless the family at this sad time and may we honor and pay tribute to him.

My brother Richard also lost his battle with cancer 2 years ago, that is why I moved back here from Colorado. In my 15 odd years there, I proudly flew my Chiefs flag, had alot of fun with it, and also took alot grief remaining a fan. I was fortunate enough to go to one Chiefs/Broncos game, the last game at the old mile high, which they won. I've been to many games at Arrowhead, and there is not another arena like it in tha league. Say hallo to my bro', because he was also a tue fan of the Chiefs !! God bless.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.
Thank you Mr.Hunt for the memories and may god look over your family.
I had the opportunity and good fortune to work with Mr. Hunt about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago on a real estate deal near his Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Lamar was the epitome of a gentleman and was also humble and compassionate. In the business of commercial real estate, it is difficult to find someone of Mr. Hunt's caliber and financial success that can retain a genuine humble spirit combined with a true caring heart. I had the pleasure of meeting Lamar's son,Dan, earlier this year and am happy to say that I believe Lamar was able to pass along these same attributes to Dan. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lamar's family.
Thank you, Mr. Hunt. From what I know about the man, no other words are necessary and no other words meant more. Thank you.
I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Hunt family. Thank you so much, Mr. Hunt, for bringing the Chiefs to Kansas City. I have moved out of state but I'm still a Chiefs fan. You will be missed.

Mr. Hunt was a part of my family too. As a lifelong Chief's fan, I had an opportunity to meet him on several occassions.
May the Lord Bless him and keep him. Thanks Mr. Hunt. You were the best!
Hunt Family, As much as Lamar Hunt influenced the NFL, he like coach Tom Landry, shared a faith in God and reflected this in his life. His integrity and passion influenced me and many others.
My heart sank with the news of his passing. What a wonderful person. I give my condolences to all those who were luck to know him personally.
You were a remarkable man whom accomplished alot in your life... I lost my Dad this year and he had told me about the time he met you at a Chiefs Game and how great you were and that you 2 talked for hours.. I felt as if I knew you, just by my Dad's words... Even tho the Chiefs haven't won you a super bowl in awhile.. we will always think of you as A Super-Man..! Thank you so much for coming to Kansas City and making it part of your home that you shared with us... We will NEVER forget you..!
My Condolecences go out to your family and all whom you have touched thier lives.
There will be NO other Lamar Hunt..!! Thanks for the memories.!!
Godspeed to Mr. Hunt, and my condolences to his family. Mr. Hunt epitomized class, restraint, fairness, sportsmanship, and all the other admirable qualities we want to see in others and ourselves.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Along with my father, I believe I have you to thank for being able to make my living through soccer. I have now spent 36 years with the game, as a player and coach. I remember when John Best (Dallas Tornado) came to my elementary school to recruit players for the Chamber of Commerce League, long before there was the Classic League. Your vision for and legacy with soccer is remarkable! I think you will always be with us, every time any of us sees or plays the game, hears a score on the news, or passes a stadium. God bless.
To the Hunt family:
Even though I had never personally met your father,I have, of course, heard wonderful stories about him..
My thoughts are with you in this time of sadness..
God rest your wonderful soul Mr Hunt you touched so many of us with your wonderful life. My father passed just last month and ill always have the memories me my father my brother at old Municipal stadium watching your and our Chiefs from the Huddle Club. I met you several times when i worked the first years of Worlds of Fun you took time to chat with a simple grounds keeper and seemed genuinly interested what this young kid had to say. People like you and my dad dont come around often i was born under a lucky star to have had you both in my lifetime. Your work was done on this earth now God needs a true visionary to run his Franchise.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
To the Hunt family: My sincere sympathies are with you ... I wish to thank Mr. Hunt for all he did and created !!! He will be forever missed ...
Visionary, class, humble and leadership are only a few words that come to mind.

I have only lived in Kansas City for 5 years but I learned very quickly who Mr. Lamar Hunt was and what he did for the NFL and the sport of football. I loved the Dallas Cowboys as a child and still do BUT the Kansas City Chiefs have became my favorite football team as a adult...
Mr. Hunt THANK YOU for all your hard work and dedication to the sport of football...

Mr. Hunt, thanks for bringing the Chiefs to K.C. I've been a fan for 38 years through the good and bad. From one Kappa Sigma to another. Thanks.
We met back in 75 & 76 at the WCT World Double Championships in KC. I was the the players & court assistant. You came to the players locker room to say hello & make sure the players were being taken care of. Of course WCT Tennis is only one example of your innovative thinking and a man ahead of his time. You're a class act which will never be matched. You brought so much to KC and will be missed beyond words can say. It breaks my heart the Chief's could not get you one more Super Bowl. God Bless !!!
Your Vision, Determination and Kindness will never be forgotten... Lamar Hunt you will never be forgotten....
Thank You Lamer and family for letting us be apart of your life and the Kansas City Chiefs. I have to shed a few tears while I write this, it brings back so many great memories. My father loved the game of football and the Kansas City Chiefs. Some of my fondest memories are of going to see the Chiefs at Arrowhead thru out my childhood. Nothing can compare to a Chiefs vs Broncos game in december in Kansas City. I can smell the the BBQ and hear the roar of the crowd still today. Thank you Lamer for having a dream and letting us share it. God bless you and your family.
Mr. Hunt, thank you for everything you've done for Kansas City, football and sports in general. You will be greatly missed - God bless you and your family, and may you be in peace.

Lamar, thank you for all that you have done for Kansas City and the world of sports. And, most of all, being such a gentleman and representing the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans with such class.
Every NFL fan owes you a debt of gratitude. You will be missed. Say hello to Derrick, Joe, Mack and the rest of our family.
A true gentleman who will be missed.
The man was a giant.
There are way too few men like Lamar left. He was a brilliant businessman, a tough negotiator, and a true visionary.
Whatever we do at OnGoal and the Kansas City Wizards, we will be building on the legacy that Mr. Hunt created. He will always be our founder, and biggest fan. If we see a bit further, it will only be because we are standing on the shoulders of a giant.
Thank you Mr. Hunt. We miss you.

Once again thank you very much and there will never be another owner with as much devotion and loyality to his fans, players, and coaching staff like you.
The impact that Lamar had on not only the NFL, NBA, Tennis, and Soccer, but on the city of Kansas City as well, is immeasurable. Thank you Lamar. We all owe you a debt of gratitude.

It is a terrible shame when a light that shows so many people the way burns out! Bless Lamar Hunt and all the Kansas City Chiefs Family and Fans for the loss of a truly honorable man.
The real life Superman. My prayers go out to your family. Rest in peace.
Thank you Mr. Hunt for everything that you have done for my home state of Missouri. The legacy that you have built with the NFL and The Chiefs will stand for all time as tribute to you. Everytime the Chiefs take the field, you will be there in spirit.
This is a very, very sad day for all of pro football. As an old-timer growing up in Dallas, the Dallas Texans became my team as the league formed. He is reponsible for so many cities to now be enjoying pro ball (not just those in the old AFL but some in the old NFL).
Rest in Peace Lamar and prayers go out to your family.
Even though I moved to Arizonia,I still bleed Chiefs red!!!
I met Mr Hunt in 1964 in the old stadium, he was really a super nice gentlman!
Had season tickets for 30 years.
He will be really missed! Our Prayers are with his family.
Mr. Hunt represented everything to be admired in a human being. Pro sports, and the world in general, lost a true gentleman with his passing.
Thanks for the many contributions of Mr. Hunt ~ I had the privilege of Security Guard at his home one summer back in the early '70's! ~ Lowell Green
Thank you Lamar Hunt for bringing the Kansas City Chief's to my home town. A huge part of my life has been devoted to rooting for and supporting the Chiefs. My blessings and prayers of support to Lamar Hunt's family and friends at this time of his passing. If anyone ever left an indelible legacy on a community, Lamar Hunt did that for Kansas City. Farewell great man.
I HAVE BEEN A FAN AND SUPPORTER OR MR. HUNT FOR MANY YEARS. I NOW LIVE IN ARIZONIA, BUT I STILL HAVE MISSOURI AND LAMAR HUNT IN MY HEART. THE CHIEFS ARE THE GREATEST GIFT MR. HUNT COULD GIVE TO THE PEOPLE OF MISSOURI
Now heaven can have a Super Bowl too! God Bless All!
Mr. Hunt was truly a gentleman and a Class Act. He will be sorely missed in Kansas City and throughout the football community. I had the privilege to meet Mr. Hunt at Arrowhead a couple of years ago. For someone of his stature, he was approachable and gracious. He is at the heart of what it is to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan!
Thank you for everything you have done in sports
Words can not express how many now feel upon your passing. You were one of the finest men to have ever graced this earth. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt family. God Bless You Mr. Hunt
Lamar's legacy will never be forgotten. I think that I and every fan of the Chiefs or the NFL in general are a part of that legacy. Lamar was a true giant among men.
being a long time chiefs fan i would like to think lamar hunt for what he has braught to the chiefs and nfl football. although i never had the honor of meeting the man, my heart goes out to his wife and family. because of the chiefs he has gave me and my family many good memories. like the late derrick thomas i will always hold him near and dear to my heart. thanks for the memories lamar!
Without Lamar Hunt, there would have never been a professional football team in this city. We owe a lot to this great individual and it's a shame he had to be taken so early.
You were always a class act, Mr. Hunt.
I am a long time Oakland Raider fan and I have greatly appreciated the work that was done by the founders of the AFL. They were rebels that change the face of sports. The NFL would never be what it is today without Lamar Hunt and the AFL. His charity work, and giving spirit will never be replaced. Our thoughts and prayers to the KC family, and to Mr. Hunts family and friends.
My condolences and best wishes to the Hunt family. Also, I want to express appreciation for Mr. Hunt's contributions to the NFL in general, the Kansas City Chiefs in particular, and to the entire Kansas City metro area. Rest in peace, Mr. Hunt.
My condolenscences to the Hunt family and the Chiefs family. We were fortunate enough to have a man of his caliber amoung us, and he shouuld be a shining example to all on how to live. He has done so much for Kansas City, the NFL and in a lot of ways for the world. As commented in an article I read 'if he had done all he has done for sports in England, he would have been knighted by the Queen' So here's to you Sir Lamar Hunt - may God Bless you and keep you safe watching over our beloved sports world.
I was 7 years old when my dad took me to Municipal Stadium in Downtown Kansas City, Mo. to see the first Chiefs game. From that time on my father and me always had something in common, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Without the Chiefs the 70’s would have made Dad and I strangers.
Thank you Lamar, for all you did for Kansas City and especially letting me learn early what a great guy my father was.
May you rest in peace.
PS If you and Hank happen to see my father tell him I miss him.
Being an orginal Dallas Texan fan, it was with great sorrow to see the Texans move from Dallas to become the Kansas City Chiefs. Now all the Chief fans as well as all those in preofessional sports have the same sorrow in losing a great leader and man. Professional sports will always relish the honor and wisdom of Lamar Hunt. God bless you Lamar.
Mr. Lamar Hunt,
You are the inspiration role model for all sportmanships. You will never be forgotten. May God bless you all!
My heart aches at the loss of this wonderful man. The class that he brought to sport, community, philanthropy, and life will be unmatched. I can truly say that eventhough I never met him, he made my life better as a Kansas Citian. Your vision and nuturing spirit will live on forever and we can only hope to live the way you did.
Thank you Mr. Hunt and may God keep your family close during this time.
I have never met a man of such stature who was as genuine and humble as Mr. Lamar Hunt. I am deeply saddened by his loss and I am sure that the entire City of Kansas City where Mr Hunt chose to be the home of the Chiefs is in mourning and diminished by his passing. May God be with his soul and comfort the Hunt family.
Thank you for being a tremendous person who has touched many generations. You'll always be remembered with a smile.
Mr. Hunt shows what you can do with a dream.
He was good for sports, good for business and a great study.
He will be missed by many.
I was seven years old when Mr. Hunt moved the Dallas Texans to Kansas City and renamed them the Chiefs. As a life long sports fan I cannot imagine my life and our city without the gift Mr. Hunt bestowed upon us of his football team. While we were proud of our city and our team, we were even more proud of our owner who exhibited undenying character and class.
Were going to miss you Mr.Hunt. A Chiefs fan for 44 years. Thank You.
We will miss you Mr. Hunt.
Thank you, Mr. Hunt. Just thank you
We will miss you Mr. Hunt. Thank you for everything you have done for the fans of the NFL and sports.

As a long time Chiefs season ticket holder of the past. this very sad day. Thank you not only for being the best possible owner a city could have but also for adoptiong KC. Unique individuals such as Mr. Humt are very reare and we were certainlty blessed by his presence in our community
I met Lamar Hunt at a couple of the Chiefs Draft parties and at Chiefs camp at River Falls. He was the greatest person with incredible spirit. I am so proud to be a Kansas City Chiefs fan for my whole life. My prayers go out to his family and the intire Chiefs organization. Long live Lamar.
My sympathy goes out to all of Lamar Hunt's family and his extended sports family, as well. His kindness, humility and love of the game will be greatly missed across many sports here in the U.S. May his family find solace in knowing how much Lamar was loved, honored and respected.
The Lord made us and Lamar Hunt..who then went on to build the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now is God a Chief fan? Well, probably.
Now, thee Chief, is with THE CHIEF and I'm sure He's well pleased.
God Bless the Hunt family in their time of the passing of a most very special man.
Getting to know Lamar Hunt, and his wife Norma, was one of the experiences I cherish most about living in Dallas. You could not have asked for a kinder patron, or a more enthusiastic sports fan. He reminded us all what a thrill it was to be alive, and to play a great game.
Mr. Larmar Hunt,
Thank you for being a Kansas City Icon. You will be missed and admired for decades to come. Those of us in Las Vegas, who have KC roots, will miss your direction, kindness, and class.
RIP Lamar. Have a good one and say HI to Hank.
I met Mr. and Mrs. Hunt in "coach class" on a flight from KC to Dallas. He graciously autographed my Chiefs hat. I followed him and his wife to the baggage carousel and watched them walk to his car in the parking garage. No first class seat, no valets to carry his luggage. No limo waiting for him. Let us all learn from his legacy, and Buck O'Neill's, and Ewing Kauffman's. Greatness doesn't come from the big things you accomplish, it comes from the little things you do when you think no one is watching. Thanks, Lamar, for the many big things and small things you did for so many. Rest in peace.
I commend Lamar Hunt. Not merely as a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs but as someone who has the utmost appreciation for the version of the NFL that is currently in place. I can't even begin to imagine an NFL without a Super Bowl or Monday Night Football. I'll never forget how dissapointed I was in 1998 when Derrick Thomas was whistled for his third unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in a Monday Night loss to the Denver Broncos. Not only did it signal the jarring conclusion of any real hope for the Chiefs to break through to a Super Bowl birth anytime soon, but as Lamar shook his head in grief that night, I think even he knew it would prove to be the final denunciation to any prayer he had of again reaching the game he co-created with the equally admirable Art Rooney. Nearly ten years later, no team has come close to that 1997 squad. It's a damned shame Lamar could never hoist the American Football Conference championship trophy after it took his name. Of course, no matter if Kansas City had won ten Super Bowls, we would still forever be indebted to Lamar for everything he did for Kansas City, the Chiefs organization and the NFL as a whole.
A great man of integrity! Heaven has just recruited another angel. I am proud to have known such a caring man.
With Great Sympathy,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart not only for bringing professional football to Kansas City but also for your vision and determination to achieve the impossible. Without your quiet leadership and innovative ideas, professional sports as we know them would not exist today. Thank you so very much for all that you gave to Kansas City and to the world. You will be forever missed and cherished.
It has been and honor to have known and work for Mr.Hunt the past year. Lamar was a well respected and down to earth man. He will be missed dearly. I send up prayers to his family and friends thru this difficult time.
Thank you for all the things you gave to our great city. You will be sorely missed. My prayers and sympathies to your family.

Goodbye to a true sportsman and pioneer of professional sports. My thoughs and prayer to the Hunt family during this time of loss.
Growing up in Kansas City was an experience enhanced by the fruits of Lamar Hunt's labours of love; The KC Chiefs and Truman Sports Complex. Among all his gifts to KC, these are as much a part of me and I would wager any other Kansas Citian no matter how far we are displaced from our roots and to that we owe Mr. Hunt a debt that can only be repaid by continuing his tradition of support for Kansas City Sports. Go Chiefs, Go Royals and bring on the NHL and NBA !!!
Thank you, Lamar Hunt. Although never meeting you, I've been close to you on many occasions during CHIEFS' games. What you've done for Kansas City goes beyond words, and for me personally, you've allowed me to experience things I never would've otherwise. I've been blessed to be able to attend countless CHIEFS games with my family and friends and the experiences have all been memorable. I know it's just football to most people, but for me, it's a way of life. I love you for it. Thank you. God Bless you. What a great man you are.
My fellow Texan Mr. Hunt. You are one of a kind. You never lost the common touch. You always took the time to speak with your gental smile. We will always remember you always.
God Bless and thank you for your vision and willingness to go for your dream. Condolences and thoughts and prayers to the family.
We deeply appreciate all the efforts Lamar Hunt made to provide our area with Professional football and other sports. He will be greatly missed by all.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt family at this time.
Thank you for all that you have done during your time here. You will be missed but more importantly you will be remembered.
My heart felt sympathies go out to the Hunt family.
Mr. Hunt, Thank you for your inovation and confidence to bring Professional Football to Kansas City. God Bless you.
Mr.Hunt Thank you for everything you have done for our great football team, and for everything you have done for the NFL. You are a true Chief. I would also like to take this time to petiton to put the letters LH on the sleeves of the Chiefs from now until forever to always honor the man that changed the Chiefs and the NFL. God Bless you and your family
Anyone could reach him, because he was listed in the white pages of the Dallas and Kansas City phone directories....That says it all! We will miss you!
Thankyou Mr. Lamar Hunt for everything you have done.
We have lost a great leader, spokesperson for football, and above all, a gentlemen. My sympathy goes to the Hunt family. We will always remember the gifts he leaves behind.
Mr. Hunt you will be missed. Rest in peace.
I started following the Chiefs after seeing the integrity and class the organization was handled through Mr. Hunt. I always look forward to flipping on the TV and watching the Chiefs on Sundays - thanks for that.
We are very sorry for your loss and the loss of a great man. We feel as if we knew Mr. Hunt because of Ryan. He made a great impact on Ryan's life. We thank the Hunt family for the graciousness you've shown to Ryan and we share in your grief.
May God continue to Bless you and give you peace and comfort.
The man with the crystal ball helped us all to see into the future and developed professional sports the way we see it today and on into the future. His presence will be felt forever more.
Dear Mr Hunt,
Thank you for everything you have done for this city. First Mr Kaufmann, now you. Our town is better because you came here, but saddend that left us much to soon. Thank you once again.
As a former employee of Arrowhead Stadium for 20 years, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolances to the entire Hunt family , as well as the Chiefs organization. Lamar displayed charm, sincerity, sweetness and respect to anyone and everyone that crossed his path. You will be missed but never forgotten.
My sympathies to the Hunt family. May God Bless you all and be with you in your times of sorrow.
Mr. Hunt, thank you for bringing the Chiefs to KC and thank you for all of the wonderful memories you have left with us Chief fans. You will truly be missed. May you rest in peace now. You've completed your mission. Job well done. Again, thank you.
We were in SMU at same time as Lamar and have seen him throughout the years as he has supported SMU in so many ways. Our thanks for his life and our sympathies go out to his family.
Thank you for making this lifetime Chiefs fan very proud to be from Kansas City. I will always be grateful to you and your family. Even though you may be gone, you will never be forgotten.
THE PEOPLE OF BIG CHARLIES SALOON IN PHILLY, PA. SEND THERE CONDOLENCES TO THE HUNT FAMILY. IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE BEING A CHIEFS FAN FOR OVER 20 YEARS KNOWING HOW GREAT A PERSON THE MAN BEHIND THE TEAM WAS.
You were a great supporter of sports but you were a better person.
Your life will be an example for my kids to follow.
God Bless you and all your loved ones.
Thank you Mr. Hunt for giving me memories that will live with me for my lifetime. My children have enjoyed what you have built and I will tell them about the great man that made it possible!
Thank you Mr. Hunt for bringing football to Kansas City. You're vision, kindness & love for our city can never be repaid. We will always love you and your family for what you have done for our city. My prayers go out for you and your family.
My sympathies go out to the Hunt family. The NFL has lost a great man! As a Chiefs fan, thanks for all you've done. God Bless Lamar!
god bless--we will miss you
My hearfelt sympathy goes out to the Hunt family for their loss of such a great man. Thanks for bringing the Chiefs to Kansas City and making them something the community could be proud of. You will be greatly missed
My prayers are with the Hunt family as they cope with this loss. I have many fond memories of gorwing up watching the Chiefs and the NFL. Lamar shaped both of these institutions and his contributions to the game will last for a long time.
I had the pleasure of first meeting Mr. Hunt in the presence of my god-father, H Roe Bartle, during one of his trips to Kansas City prior to miving the team. I was only 7, and Mr Hunt asked if I was a football fan. I wasn't sure what football was yet, but I told him I sure was and that my god-father would be his biggest supporter.
Over the years, the cry came to change the team's name. I would send letters to the Chiefs and once Mr Hunt wrote me back personally and said he remembered meeting me and that the Chiefs would never change their name, due to my god-father.
Mr. Hunt was a humble man, a man of class and vision. He gave to Kansas City, and the sports world, more than he took. That was his nature and I say "thank you", Mr Hunt. You were a leader and all of us mourn your passing. He was enshrined in 3 different professional sports Hall of Fames...an amazing accomplishment
To the Hunt family, and all sports fans, my deepest sympathies on losing this man. It is the end of an era but we were blessed to have had him
One of the greatest things about being a Chiefs Fan was having Lamar Hunt as the owner. I admired Lamar for many things but the thing that I admired most was his humility.
Thank you Lamar. Go Chiefs!
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt Family during this most difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I first met Lamar when I was in school with his son, he is a man that will always leave a mark on me, for a man with great wealth he was always able to relate to everyone and always willing to give back freely. He will be dearly missed.
Even though I live in Wyoming now, the love of Kansas City, Lamar Hunt, and the Chiefs will be with me forever. Having the opportunity to meet such a great man while selling hotdogs on the club level during a Chiefs/Raiders game while in high school was and still is a true honor.
To the Hunt family, my deepest sympathy.
To you Mr. Hunt, thanks for the memory.
Hail to the Chief!
Rest in peace Mr. Hunt, job well done!
My thought's and prayers go out to the entire Hunt family and Chiefs organization.
Lamar, I love you and I will miss you very much.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of one of the great men in the world of sports and indeed in the the world of humanity. Lamar was a man of vision and inspiraton, without whom there would likely be no Truman Sports Complex or Worlds of Fun in K.C. and possibly no MLS in the U.S., underappreciated though it is. I would challenge sports fans in K.C. and his colleagues throughout the world of proffesional sports to honor him by coming up with a viable plan to make one of his greatest visions a reality. A Rolling Roof at the Truman Sports Complex named to honor one of the great men of our generation. We couldn't get it done while he was alive, let's get it done now as a fitting tribute to the man who made Kansas City a major league sports town.
As a child in ND I admired the Chiefs and Packers and loathed their rivals. The Chiefs victory over the Vikings was fantastic and one of my earliest sports memories. I and many others now understand how important Mr. Hunt was to that game happening and that outcome. I lived in KC right out of college from 80-88 and intensified my support for the team and all things Kansas City due in part to class of the Mr. Hunt and the organization that reflects his values. I also cultivated a Chiefs fan in ND, my nephew. I'll explain to him at Christmas how important this man was and will continue to be to this game that thrills us weekly. Even with all that Mr. Hunt did in football, I believe his accomplishments in business and other venues were just as great. But as a man, his character surpassed his own achievements. God bless him for all the people he provided a living for and for being such a great role model for a period spanning three generations. I send my sympathy to the family and many close friends of Mr. Hunt. I know KC is hurting today, but oh so proud.
Lamar Hunt, a gentlemen's gentleman. I have been a Chiefs fan since before I was born, that's right, before and no matter where I go, my heart is in Kansas City. The team will not seem like the Chiefs without Mr. Hunt. You will be greatly missed.
Mr. Hunt, You will be missed by all. You made me into a Chiefs fan and a football fan. May God bless you and your family.
Thanks Mr. Hunt for Jan. 11th 1970.
I was 11 years old and can still feel the celebration after the championship. The rally at Liberty Memorial that followed is part of my family lore. Thank you, Thank you! Rest in peace.
As a high school coach in the Kansas City area, I frequently stood on the sidelines at William Jewell watching the Chiefs practice. Lamar was there too, walking up an down, just one of the guys. It was clear that he was an humble and decent man, and we rooted for him as well as for his team.
Thank you Lamar, for everything you have done for me, my family, and our community. You and you alone will always be my biggest hero.
My sympathy and those of my family go to the Hunt family today. It is always sad to lose people who contribute so hugely to society but it would be far sadder if such people did not exist. Thanks for everything, I hope it brought you a fraction of the joy your work brought the rest of us.
Mr Hunt , I had the pleasure of working for your organization for 10 years. From Banquets in the Arrowhead Club to bartending in the press club on gamedays for about 4 seasons I even had the rare opportunity to bartend in your suite a couple of times. My family and I will always be fans not only of the Chiefs but of you and your family. Class all the way !
First off, i would like to Thank the Hunt Family for all the wonderful memories that they are allowing everyone to share with friends and family.
Its also a sad day today, learning the pioneer of football had passed away. But knowing what he was going thru, i beleive God will assure all of us that he will be in a better place and he shall no longer have any pain or discomfort.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt Family and everyone who has been touched by Lamar.
God Speed Lamar...we will win a SuperBowl again for you!
On behalf of the Feggett family we would like to offer up a prayer on your family's behalf.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt family. Thank you Mr. Hunt for bringing a football passion to KC.
Thank you for bringing the chiefs to all of us. The chiefs are the pride and joy to millions, and it is all because of you. I wish I could have had the chance to meet you. It would have been one of the most proudest moments of my life. You will be remembered for ever and on every Sunday when the chiefs take the field there were always be something missing. Thank you so much we love you and miss you.
First to the Hunt family, my deepest condolences. The Chiefs Nation may have lost a friend, but you lost a husband, father, grandfather, a treasured family member. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers as you deal with your grief and pain and as you remember the good times, the times he brought a smile to your face or the times he hugged you. I can only imagine your pain and grief.
To Mr. Lamar Hunt: Thank you sir for giving us the Kansas City Chiefs. As a lifelong fan I cannot imagine a life without my beloved team. But more than that sir you were an inspiration to so many. You were a class act, a gentle and kind man who never had a bad word for anyone. Those of us in the Chiefs Nation have lost an icon and a friend. We are far people better for having known you. Thank you.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Thanks, Lamar, for lots of terrific football. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt family. Clark, I hope your heart is in KC and you follow your father's legacy.
The Super Bowl trophy, now named the "Lombardy Trophy" should be the "Hunt Trophy". It was Mr. Hunt's vision that created the game. He was great for our town and the world.
My thoughts and prayers truly go out to the Hunt family, indeed we all suffered a great loss last night. It is my only hope that someday I might be able to live my own life with half as much class and grace as Mr. Hunt lived his.
Thanks for being such a class act and demanding that from your organization. You were one of the main reasons I've been a Chiefs fan for 36 years. You will be missed.
Words cannot describe this man. He touched so many people in so many different ways. We ALL could learn a great deal from Lamar about how to treat people, how to conduct themselves and how to make dreams come to fruition. Kansas City is very fortunate to have had Lamar here for so many great years! Thank you. Best wishes to the Hunt family.
Here's to Professional Sports Man of the century. The NFL will go on, but not without its most meaningful piece. God bless you and your family.
My heartfelt thoughts go to the Hunt family. This man brought honor and pride to anyone that ever knew or meet him. His loss will be felt for many decades. Your family, however, should be as proud as any family can be; this man is everything I wish we all could be many times in our lives. Kind, caring and giving. To his children, you sure had a wonderful man as example to grow up by, you were truly blessed! Rest In Peace Mr. Hunt.
My sympathies to the Hunt family. A great deal of my foundation as a youth was built running around Municipal Stadium as a member of the Huddle Club. Without Mr. Hunt I wouldn't have the fond memories I have.
May you rest in peace, sir!!!
Thank you for the memories, moments and bringing pro football to Kansas City. As a lifetime Chiefs fan, I am eternally grateful to you and your family. Your presence in this world will be missed by Chiefs fans of all ages. God bless you Big Chief. May your spirit soar in all those who wear the red and gold in your honor. Bless you Mr. Hunt.
And the home... of the CHIEFS!!!!!
Thank you for your inspirations and love of sports. We will all truly miss you.
He was a great man with a great vision, and he saw it through. This city would be so much the poorer, if not for him.
My condolences to the entire Hunt family. My father met him on a plane from Dallas to K.C. for a Chief's playoff game. My dad always talks about how nice of a man, Mr. Hunt was. We will all miss him!
My home town, and the entire world, will miss his vision and his drive. We ex-patriot Kansas Citians, all over the country, send our love as we grieve with his family and the community.
We will always be indebted to Mr. Hunt for all he did for Kansas City and its many sports franchises. He has established a legacy that will never and should never be forgotten. Thank you Mr. Hunt for making me proud to be affiliated with Kansas City.
My condolences to the Hunt family on this loss. One of the big reasons I've remained a Chiefs fan through the good times and bad is due to the integrity of Mr. Hunt. He will be missed.
Thank you for everthing, Lamar. Your visions have brought joy to so many people. God Bless.
Dearest Mr. Hunt, I was was born in 1953 and have been a Chief's fan since 1963. I know in my heart that your contribution to professional football will never be equaled. It does however bring me some relief to know that you knew your beloved team played a home game this year on Thanksgiving night. If it were up to me, that game would be forever played in Kansas City every Thanksgiving Night. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. May God bless you all.
Lamar was a great man with great visions that had the courage to see them through. My condolences go out to the Hunt family for losing such a special person. He will be greatly missed in the community.
Thanks for the memories. I can't imagine what life in Kansas City would have been like without the Chiefs. Kansas City, Dallas, the NFL and the world has lost a great man.
POEM "In That Place"
In a place where warriors meet, Heroes rise to scape defeat. Armours collide trying to stay on their own two feet, meassured by courage, every second and every inch. Where the expectations of expectators bring them out their seats. An innovator will be missed, in a place where individual dreams are reached, for higher goals to meet. for some the pain is deep, as you lay your head to sleep. But every sunday we will meet, where ever we might be, to root for the hometown team. Rest in peace Mr. Lamar Hunt in your home, the home of the CHIEFS.
Your vision of the future of the NFL and the Chiefs Organization will be missed! Thanks for the memories!
My condolances to the Hunt Family. K.C. lost a great leader, a visonary, and a loyal friend of the community. As a Chiefs fan, I have rooted for them as long as I can remember. Some day Soon I hope the Chiefs win the Super Bowl for the Big Chief.
Thoughts and prayers to the Hunt family. Mr Hunt gave a great deal to Kansas City and the surrounding area.
RIP Mr Hunt
Thank you for all you have done for the city and the Kansas City Chiefs. You will be missed more than you could of ever immagined.
Thank you Mr Hunt for all the impact you had, not only on the Kansas City community, but on professional sports in this country. You will be missed!
As a early AFL fan, I was sad to see the team relocate from Dallas. But Mr Hunt knew what he was doing--the right thing for football and Kansas City. What a visionary! Incidently, I saw Lamar play for SMU against Ga. Tech, while on my honeymoon in 1954.
Thank you for all you have done to brighten the lives of not only sports fans all over the world but also for the communities that you helped in so many ways. You were loved and will not be forgotten!
I had the pleasure of performing contract work in downtown Dallas for The Unity Hunt Co. earlier this year. The atmosphere of the office was amazing. Nearly everyone there had started their career there and likely will end it there as well. Lamar was very well respected and his employees cared for him very much. Every work place should be like that.
As a Chiefs Redcoater for over
35 years, I-and my wife Jan-
have been fortunate to have met
Mr. Hunt and his wife Norma on many an occasion. He always was the epitome of class and humility. He definitely has enriched our lives and will be remembered fondly by us as long as we live.
May God bless the Hunt family. Thank you Lamar for all you've done.
As a long time Chiefs fan and Red Coater I have so much respect for Lamar and will miss him greatly. He will always be the best owner in the NFL -- THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!
To the Hunt family,
My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. He was a great man that did a lot for a lot of people.
I would like to recognize him for his efforts with the youth of Kansas City. His support for the kids will be greatly missed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Kansas City was blessed when Mr. Hunt decided to come here with the Texans. We have been blessed by his presence ever since. Mr. Hunt will always be the man I admire the most, outside of my own father, for what he has done for Kansas City. God Bless the Hunt family, thank you for the memories of past and future.
The league, as well as all professional sports, needs more owners like Lamar. He cared more about moving the game forward than increasing his profits. He will be greatly missed by many in red.
Thank You for all that you have done for US Soccer
Having the honor of meeting Lamar on several occasions I was Surprised how humble and Modest man he was. I told him I was a huge chiefs fan that lived in pa. and he told me about a chiefs fan club in my area. The world will miss a great person but heaven has gained an angel.
What can you say, Lamar Hunt was a pioneer. A man who had a vision and saw that vision through.
We got one for you Lamar. We look forward to celebrating a second with you. You will forever be remembered and frequently thought of. Your family should be proud and carry on the great traditions of Chiefs football. God Bless
Simply stated... Thank you. Thank you for your passion, vision, love, and true devotion to professional football, Kansas City, and fans everywhere. You will be missed deeply and remembered always.
I am a big KC fan, but more a Lamar Hunt fan. He always put the game and the NFL before himself. The game will miss him. My father who met him said he was a great man.
I got to meet Mr. Hunt when I was a boy. It was a meeting I always will treasure, because besides my dad, he was one of the most humble men I had ever met. May God be with the family. I will not mourn his passing but celebrate his new life. I'm sure he'll have as much influence in heaven as he had her on earth..
WHAT AN ICON. IF THERE WERE ONLY MORE LIKE HIM THE WORLD NOT JUST SPORTS WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE!!!
You will be missed by mankind. In a time of turmoil and question marks in the world of sports you were the face of calm and class. Thank you for your commitment to what is right and your wisdom to always follow through. May God Bless You and the Hunt Family.

Chief's football is my pasiion, my hobby, and my life The present day NFL would probably not exist if not for the vision of this loving caring man. Thank you Lamar for giving these wonderful gifts to us. You will truly be missed, but will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt family.
Thanks Lamar for all you've done for Kansas City.
I've been a Chiefs fan since they were the Dallas Texans in 1960. What a class owner Mr. Hunt was. He will be missed.
Lamar Hunt you will be missed. I thank you for everything you have done for the Chiefs and NFL.
Shoestring Potatoes, My Dad in a Lazyboy, and a 2 liter of orange pop. THIS is what I remember when I first learned of Lamar and his doings for the AFL/NFL and BEYOND. MY DAD sat down to watch a AFL GAME, I heard him call me as they called out LAMARS NAME, and from that day on, after knowing what he did then, what he has done now, MR LAMAR HUNT you are TRULLY MY FAVORITE SPORTS LEGEND of ALL TIMES! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING SO MUCH A PART OF ME!
Dear Hunt Family, I'm sorry about your loss. Lamar was truly a blessing and pioneer of the game of the football. His creative spirit and enthusiasm will be missed.
Aspiring Football coach
On the day the Chiefs played the Vikings in the Super Bowl, the streets of Kansas City were empty. Thank you, Mr. Hunt, for bringing professional football to my hometown and giving the city and the region a sense of collective pride and excitement.
A great man of class and character...whom will be missed deeply.
I met Lamar last year while the Chiefs were here in St Louis for the Governors Cup. He was a very kind man. I will miss him very much.
What a class act! Lamar Hunt will be sadly missed.
Your Dallas Texans was the first pro football team I ever I identified with, so much that even after they moved away, they always remained my second favorite team. By breaking the monopoly of Northeastern & West Coast cities & opening up pro football to the rest of the country, you were a real giant-killer. And of course you remained a visionary in sports the rest of your life.
Thanks for all you have done for the game I'll always enjoy. You are a true Pioneer.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Mr. Hunt and your family. You will be missed.
Mr. Hunt was a very special man and a true visionary who will be sorely missed. My prayers are with his family and friends at this time. May God Bless his soul.
Thank you for all you did. We'll also cheer loud and proud because of you!
Your pioneering spirit led the sports world to turn the impossible to the possible and will continue to inspire myself and others to come to always seek out and do our best in all of our endavors. God bless you Lamar Hunt, Go Chiefs!
I starting playing soccer in Dallas at the age of 5 in 1971. I went on to play in college, my children play, my daughter wants to play in college. The game is so wonderful and you knew it, just like you knew how wonderful American Football would be and is today. Thank you Lamar! Enjoy your well earned rest with God.
I am a native Kansas Citian, and Lamar Hunt's value to our fair city is immeasurable. Rest well, Mr. Hunt, you've earned it.
Thank you for everything you've done; you will be missed. Godspeed.
Thanks for bringing Pizza Hut Park to Frisco. We think of how you and your family blessed the area each time we drive by it. While you are greatly missed here on earth, it sure is great to have another Mustang in heaven!
Mr. Hunt not only helped Kansas City, but the whole nation, and not just the NFL.
He showed the way to the modern era of coast-to-coast leagues with massive TV coverage.
I was interviewed by Mr Hunt in 1974 at Dallas Baptist University (then College) for a scholarship for Nursing. I was given that scholarship and have been employed in Nursing since graduation in 1978. I remember how hard the questions were to answer and the impact that having that education has made on my life. I thank God for that and his instrument, Lamar Hunt, for this blessing in my life.
I pray for your family at this time and continue thanking God for that angel sent to me.
Thank you for all you did for Kansas City. RIP.
We have all lost one of the true gentlemen of our time. What he did for so many sports in this country is legendary. He will be missed by millions.
As a season ticket holder I have enjoyed seeing you in your suite every game. It won't be the same to look up & not see you. Thank you for all you've done, we will miss you.
I am a native of Kansas City and an SMU alum, so I must thank him, and will miss him, double. Lamar, thanks for all you and your family have done for my hometown and my alma mater.
Norma, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May God be with you and your family during this difficult time.
Thank you for your love, loyalty, faith, and devotion to a franchise that every Kansas City person can proudly claim as their "home" team. But most importantly, thank you for honoring your family, sports franchises, and endearing friends with dignity, honor, and a sincerely humble attitude. You will truly be missed by every person in not only the Kansas City area, but all over the world as well. Thanks Lamar.
Sorry for the loss of a great man.Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family .
To the Hunt family, I will always remember Lamar as I moved to Kansas City to start my working career at about the same time he moved the Chiefs there. I became an avid fan when Jan Stenerud joined the team, as we are look-alikes.. I had season tickets for many years while I lived in Kansas City and have always considered K C Chiefs "my team" I will always remember Christmas day 1971 as I was in Municipal Stadium for the game with Miami.
Thank you Lamar for the pleasure you have brought to so many people I am now retired in western Arizona, but follow the Chiefs daily.
Thank you for all that you have given not only to KC but to the world. Your love and generosity will live forever in our hearts.
Blessings to you

Thanks for you contributions to sports. You will be fondly remembered, even by those who never knew you personally.
Thanks for being a true gentleman in every sense of the word and for everthing you have done for the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs.
It is not always what a man does in life, but how he lives his life. Although it is unquestioned that Mr. Hunt accomplished great things in both the sports and business world, his legacy will always be his attitude and true sense of looking out for common good. Whether it was revenue sharing in the AFL to keep the league alive or ensuring that even if he had to let someone else take credit for one of his ideas and dreams Mr. Hunt knew that the greater good was always better than individual achievement and glory. Mr. Hunt has long been a shining example that individual success does not have to come at the expense of others. My deepest symathy goes to his family, but know that there are millions of people that share in your loss and know that their lives are much richer for having Mr. Hunt touch them in one way or another. He will be missed.
Having lived in KC most of my life, I feel so grateful for the gift of professional football that Mr. Hunt gave to all of us. He will be missed.
To the Hunt Family and Friends everywhere Mr. Lamar Hunt you will be missed. Born in Buffalo I thank you for the AFL and my beloved Buffalo Bills. May you rest in peace for bringing millions of people together because of your love for football.
You will sorely be missed by many. You will always be a Chief to me.
How could this man not be considered one of the most influential and prominent men in American sports history?
Lamar, thank you so much for bringing the Chiefs to KC and all that you have done. I will think about you every time the Chiefs play, and I know you'll be there watching over the great franchise you have shared with us.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
Thank you Lamar for all you have done for us! We will miss you. Go rest, your work is done.
Lamar, you're simply the best.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Lamar Hunt. He was truly a sports pioneer and a great man.
Thank you Lamar for everything you did and all the things you stood for. The love and compassion you had for the game of football was 2nd to none. Your fairness and thoughtful consideration was unmatched. We loved you deeply. Our loss is great and will be felt for a long time.
Lamar will be greatly missed and always admired for his humanity morals and ethics. The world of business and sports were led by example from Lamar.
Thanks for the memories and the Super Bowl trophy of 1969. I was a kid at the time, and I plan on being there the next time the Chiefs are in the big game. You will be sorely missed by everyone in the Midwest.
My prayers are with the Hunt family at this time. I would like to say Thank You to Mr. Hunt for all he has done for Kansas City. Mr. Hunt was a true sports fan and we(K.C.) should be thankful we had such a man on our side bench. I've been tailgating for the past eight years and in Mr.Hunts healthier days we would see him jogging by with his red socks pulled high. we would say Hello ask if he thought we were going to win he would say "I sure hope so" He was such a nice genuine man we will mis him forever and remeber him ALWAYS.

Kansas City has lost a great man. Since the first Chiefs game I attended in 1963 I have been a fan of the organization he founded and the quality players and people he surrounded himself with. His contibution to the Kansas City area was immense and the quality football teams he fielded provided the best entertainment anywhere. I will miss him.
Thank you for making us the greatest fans in all of professional sports. You are a true pioneer. I know you, Hank Stram and Buck O'Neil are watching over us. Happy Holidays to the entire Hunt Family.
To the Hunt family, my deepest condolences. Lamar Hunt was a real class act. He will be missed.
Thank you Mr. Hunt for everything you have done for sports and Kansas City. There truly will never be another owner like you.
To The Man I met but Once,
I met you as a small child at your wonderful new addition to KC at the time, Worlds of Fun. As a Chiefs fan from birth, I knew you instantly from reading books about the Chiefs and the AFL. I approached you shyly and you you patted my head and spoke to me.
Thank you for the Chiefs, thank you for Arrowhead, thank you for the countless other things you have made possible for our region. I am happy that Arrowhead and the Chiefs will live on long into the future as a testament to just some of your works!
Thank You Mr.Hunt for all that you have done for Kansas City. Go Chiefs!!
We met a few times in the mid 70's one one of your most innovative sporting ventures, WCT Tennis in Kansas City at the municipal auditorium. We met in the players locker room when you came to say hello to some of the players. You were warm & friendly. Your efforts in this area were ahead of it's time in bringing world class tennis into an indoor arena. Ofcourse, this was only one of many innovative ventures of your. I'm a life long Chief's fan and it breaks my heart we could not get you one more Super Bowl throphy. Growing up in KC & having you such an important part of this city it's like losing a friend. May God Bless you and your family.
You will be missed, but we know you are in a better place. That is why we will not mourn, we will rejoice and accept your life as a blessing.
My deepest sympathies to the Hunt family.
Lamar will always be remembered as a man with dignity and class. The Hunt family and Kansas City have lost a remarkable husband, father, and friend. God bless.
Mr. Hunt. and the Hunt family: Thanks for all that you have done for football and for the Kansas City Chiefs. May your influence and presence be felt always. Time for heaven to have THE super bowl and you to guide it.
My condolences. One of the few people that have earned my utmost respect and admiration. One of the last true roll models. Thank You Lamar.
Dear Hunt family,
I had a chance to meet Mr. Hunt and receive an autograph from him a few years ago at a game in SFO. He was true gentleman. Thoughts and Prayers to your family... Jan Podrebarac
I have never lived in Kansas City myself, so I can't personally speak to how much Mr. Hunt meant to the city -- obviously quite a lot. However, I have been a life long Chiefs fan and go to every Hall of Fame ceremony in which a Chief is inducted, carrying the same pennant every time, getting as many Chiefs to sign it as I can. After the last time a Chief was inducted, I was about to leave and saw Lamar Hunt and his assistant walking towards their car to leave, too. I wanted him to sign my Chiefs pennant, so I sprinted across the parking lot and got there just as they were getting into the car. His assistant tried to say that they didn't have time, but he overruled her and took the extra time to sign it. Kindness and humility are even more powerful when shown by those who might otherwise think they have the right to be arrogant. The Bible says that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. Somewhere, there is a very thin camel with Lamar Hunt's name on it.
Chief Fan in Kentucky
I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Lamar Hunt. His love and compassion for the game of football and what he did for the city of Kansas City will truly be missed by all.
Thank you Lamar for all you have done for Kansas City. You've had such an impact on so many people and done so many great things. You will be missed.
No one could have done more. No one could have been any better.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
A true ICON in every sense of the word. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunt Family. I only wish I could of seen Lamar raise his own trophy! What a sight that would of been.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
Professional sports lost its greatest owner. Lamar Hunt was a model and loved more by the fans of his team than any of his fellow owners. I was luckey enough to meet him in 1973 when a Soviet soccer team came to Arrowhead to play the NASL All Stars. He was a dignified and friendly gentleman whose dedication to his fans was evident on a personal and public level. Kansas City will miss him.
I am truly and deeply sorry for the lose to the Hunt family, the Kansas City area and the NFL. I hope that his legacy will carry on.
God Bless you, Mr. Hunt and your Family from a Kansas City native and a 'forever Chiefs fan'.
Thank you Mr. Hunt for everything.
you had a vision that made sports in this country a much better place & were responsible for the creation of 14 franchises in the 1960s in what later became the NFL as we know it. without you & the "foolish club" many of us would not have never seen the growth in the game of football that have it made it so popular.
the sports world & the world as a whole has lost a giant.
My sincere condolences to the Hunt Family. As a long time Chiefs fan, it was always an honor to have Lamar Hunt referenced as our owner. May you rest in peace.
My condolences to his family--he represented what a professional sports franchise owner should be in speech and deed. As a long-time Kansas City resident, I loved the Chiefs and remain a fan largely because of his guidance of the franchise. I remember so well the Super Bowl celebration when "we" won.
My deepest sympathies to the Hunt Family. I was an original season ticket holder but have lived in Illinois for the past 36 years. I have the utmost respect for Mr Hunt and will always be a die hard Chief fan.
Thank you, Lamar, for all you have done to build the NFL into what it is today and putting what's best for the league first. You will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Lamar Hunt and his family. Lamar Hunt was a wonderful man who brought football to Kansas City and entertainment such as Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. There will never be anyone like Mr. Hunt. God Bless You.
You were a great man of the likes that we may never see again. Thank you for all you did. You will live on forever in the hearts of Chiefs fans.
Kansas City truly lost a good man. My deepest sympathies.
Lamar Hunt was a visionary and a humble man. He is the best thing that happened to Kansas City in the past 40 years. His loss is heart felt by all who knew him or knew of him.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Hunt several times in both K.C. and Dallas. What a great guy and tremendous example he was. Thanks.
Mr. Lamar Hunt
My name is Tiffany Wrigth and iam a fan for many many years. The NFL lost a good man. I will also remember you like i did Derrick Thomas. My family will miss you and remember for ever.
Dear Hunt family,
We will always cherish Mr. Hunt and the impact he has had in Kansas City and for the country. As a season ticket holder who drives 7 hours from Minnesota for game day, I thank Mr. Hunt for what he has done to make KC and Arrowhead a second home for me on Fall Sundays.
Thanks for the memories!!
You will be missed....
Dear Hunt family,
Lamar has given so much to Kansas City and to football fans everywhere. May the Lord be with all of you during this difficult time. Mr. Hunt may be gone but he will never be forgotten.
We will miss a man that had it all and was willing to share it. Football has lost a true visionary and star.
I was there from the start and will remember all the wonderful things you have done for K.C.
May you rest in peace, Lamar.
You were truly an inspiration to not only Kansas City fans nor just football fans, but to millions of admirers who watched the quiet, classy way you lived your life. You personified the saying that
"character - not wealth or power or position - is of supreme worth."
May God comfort the Hunt family as they grieve the loss of a wonderful man.
A great owner but an even better man. Lamar, thank you for bringing Class to this city. You will be missed.
mr. hunt- thank you so much for all you have done for kansas city and chiefs fans. you were a class act.
Thank you Mr. Hunt for years of great football in KC. You are truly a great man and I know your family and friends are proud to be a part of you. I am! Great men do their job and say little. You have blessed us with your presence. Peace Joy, and Love to your family.
This is a great loss to KC. Our heart feld condolences go out to the entire Hunt family as well as KC. Lamar meant alot to this city.
R.I.P Lamar. Can't say enough about how much Kansas City owes you and appreciates everything that you did.
You brought the greatest game on earth home to Kansas City.
God bless you, Mr. Hunt. You gave so much joy to football fans of Kansas City and such a proud reputation for our city. We are indebted to your loyalty to the "second city" in your life - it endeared you to all Kansas Citians that you never gave up on this city. I've been a Chiefs fan from the day you brought the team and have had countless joys (and frustrations!)as a fan. Thank you!
Lamar I never met you, but I feel like I have known you all my life. I grew up in Kansas and the Chiefs were more important to me then any thing. I have infected my wife with it, and passed that love to my 3 children and even though I have lived in California for almost 20 years it has not been shaken. You legacy will live on in the hearts of Chiefs fans everywhere. God bless your family, I look forward to having a long talk with you in heaven some day.
A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to be able to take my son to the Davey O'Brien Awards dinner. After the festivities, an elderly man was standing by himself a short ways away down a hallway of the Fort Worth Club. I told my son to go and get the man's autograph. My son asked, "Who is he?" and I replied, "That's Lamar Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and a founder of the American Football League. Probably the most influential figure in how the NFL has become what it is today." My son walked down the hall and approached Mr. Hunt, who graciously signed the autograph and then chatted with Derek for a few minutes before continuing the conversation while walking back toward me and then to the elevator. I never asked my son what was said but was so grateful that Derek was able to experience just the moment of being in the presence of one of the legendary figures in the history of American sports and that Mr. Hunt treated Derek with such great respect. Thank you, Lamar Hunt.
Mr. Hunt's vision created the AFL and my beloved Kansas City Chiefs. All fans of professional football, as well as those who love modern Soccer, will mourn his passing. God bless you, Mr. Hunt. You'll be missed.
Thanks for the Chiefs, thanks for the Wizards and thanks for Worlds of Fun. Your efforts in your life have brought forth many great memories that will live forever with me, rest in peace Mr Hunt.
He seemed a just, and honourable man, who believed deeply in his football league.
"Thanks Mr. Hunt", nothing more needs to be said.
Lamar was a kind and honest man. My husband offices at Arrowhead during the football season. I remember when he realized his car had been hit in the parking lot at the stadium after he left work one day. Not knowing how it had happened, he casually asked the security gaurd there several weeks later if he knew anything. The gaurd said Lamar had told him he'd accidentally hit someone's car backing out on his way to the airport, that he felt badly about it, and asked him to try and find out whose car it was. Lamar paid for the damage, although no one would have ever known he had done it. That's the kind of man he was. The repair shop was so excited to see the Chief's check and Lamar's signature, it wouldn't surprise me if they framed it instead of cashing it! We will keep him in our prayers. Sincere condolences to Norma and the entire Hunt family. He was a gentle man who will be missed.
I would like to express my sympathy to Nroma and her children and grandchildren over the loss of Mr Hunt. He was a great man. I remember when he used to jog around the parking lot in the 1980's when we tailgated. He was always very friendly.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
His kindness and humanity touched many people in my Northeast neighborhood. I remember those things more than the football.
Thanks and God speed.
Our heartfelt sympathy to a wonderful family.
Always admired Lamar and the Chiefs. A friend from St. Louis. You'll be missed.
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.
I'm sure what I say will be echoed quite often, but as a Chief's fan and Kansas City native, I appriciate everything Lamar has brought to our city. He will be missed for not only his generousity and compassion but for his outlook on everything.
You did a great job being Head Chief of CHIEFS. Thanks for everything, Mr Hunt. We'll miss you.
Thank you and God speed Mr. Hunt
God Bless You Mr. Hunt
Lamar, we will always remember your contributions to football, and to Kansas City. Say "Hello" to Buck for us!
Chiefs Nation suffered a tremendous loss last night but you are in a wonderful place now and everyday will be like a Super Bowl for you now. My heart goes out to all those touched by you which would be countless. You were always a REAL down to earth person. You weren't just the Chief's owner, but you were and always will be the biggest fan.
thank you for all you did for Kansas City!
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. Lamar will never be forgotten.
What an amazing and humble man! We know your loss will be tremendous. I have been a season ticket holder since the new stadium was opened so have had many opportunities to enjoy Mr. Hunt. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Hunt was a great man and we will all miss him. I have been a Chiefs fan since the day they moved here, I was 12 years old. We had season tickets for a few years and the memories of games at Municipal Stadium and the early days at Arrowhead are memories I will always cherish. Thank you Lamar and God bless you!
My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.
Thank you sir, for a lifetime of memories growing up as a Chiefs fan. You are a true Patriarch within your own family, and also the sports family.
I had the honor of meeting one of America's greatest innovators, but I never understood the importance of these moments - - a handshake, a couple of brief words in his suite the last time we lost to Denver at Arrowhead. The loss hurt, but your presense alone taught me to enjoy the game. Lamar Hunt has given me and others a gift of a lifetime. Thank you Mr. Hunt for the gifts of yesterday, today, and most importantly for the memories that are yet to come on your behalf. God Bless your family and God Bless you.
He has been a true leader in every sense of the word to this city and the Chiefs.
As a resident of south Mississippi, I say thanks for your contributions to the game. And to think, in the early 60s, if Mr. Hunt had located a team to New Orleans ... we wouldn't be waiting 40 years for a Super Bowl team down here.
Thanks to all the Hunt family for all the memories.
A truly great sportsman in every sense of the word. Will be missed. RIP Mr Hunt.
I wish to thank the Hunt family for eveything they have done to help sports and KC. Mr. Hunt will always be remembered. There would be no AFC or the Chiefs if not for him. My condolences to the family.
Thanks for the Great Moments that you have brought to the Kansas City Area and to the Sports fans of the Kansas City Chiefs. You will be missed.
Your kindness and your loving heart is always a sign of a great man lead by God. Rest in peace Mr. Hunt.
As a longtime football fan who was very fond of the old AFL days, I am extremely saddened by the loss of Lamar Hunt. Mr. Hunt was truly a class act and an innovative football man. While the folks in Kansas City, Dallas, and the NFL family will surely feel his loss more acutely, football fans such as myself here in the Deep South in Jackson, Mississippi, also recognize the enormous contributions this man made to the sport of football. Best to his family and his beloved Chiefs. God Bless Lamar Hunt from football fans all across the world.
You will be greatly missed in the community of Kansas City and the NFL.
Lamar, thank you for the gift you bestowed not only Kansas City, but on America. You will be missed, but never forgotten. God speed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
I watched your Texans your last year in Dallas. You help make football what it is today. Bless your family in time of sorrow.
Lamar Hunt did so much for Kansas City. The Chiefs, Worlds of Fun, soccer, tennis, and bowling were just a few of his passions. He was dynamic, innovative and always chose the greater good. Above all, he was a class act. Lamar Hunt will be greatly missed.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dallas and the world have lost a selfless leader. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hunt family.
I met him once.
Walking down the ramp at RFK stadium before the Wizards-Fire MLS Cup in 2000, I passed a large group of people with one well-dressed man in the middle.
Spying my gear (Wizards hat and shirt), "Go Wizards!" he yelled to me, with fist raised.
I said "Yeah!" and kept going.
"Whoa!! Wait a minute. Was that Lamar Hunt?!"
I turned back around and asked a woman at the back of the group if I could shake his hand, and she said that he would love that.
So, I shook his hand and thanked him for everything that he had done for the KC area.
So long Lamar, you will be truely missed by all who know who you are and what you have done.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Lamar Thanks for bringing such joy to the Kansas City area. You will be greatly missed.

Thank you for your utmost professionalism and dedication to Kansas City.
Our prayers are with you. Lamar Hunt laid the cornerstone of honesty, and integrity within the National Football League. May he forever be remembered as an example for the other leaders in sports ownership.
My Dad worked with Lamar Hunt arranging airline charters when the Chiefs first came to Kansas City and for many years thereafter.
He always said that Mr. Hunt was not just a businessman but that he was a true gentle man in every way and he was always concerned about doing things that would help not only the Chiefs and their personnel but also was good for thee rest of the football teams. He was a man of vision and KC will surely miss having him at the Chiefs games. May he now rest in peace and may his family be helped through this difficult time knowing the people of KC and the entire Chiefs organization will truly miss this man.
My prayers for a return to health will now be said for Mr. Hunt's family. Your husband/father was greatly admired by us all.

You will ALWAYS be Big Chief in my book! You will be missed.
My sympathy to his family.
A gentleman. A sportsman. A leader.
Your impact may never be fully understood or appreciated by the world.
But fans of you and your ventures know what a man you were and will always remember you.
Thank you, Lamar, for everything you did for Kansas City.
I was saddened this morning to hear that Mr. Lamar Hunt had passed away. I became a Chief's fan in the 1960's and was thrilled when they won the Super Bowl in 1970. Mr. Hunt was a good man, you could see it in his kind face. I was unaware of his contribution to tennis and soccer. My sincere condolences to his family. Kansas City and the Chiefs will not be the same without his presence.
Mr. Hunt we will miss you very much.
Thank you so much for all that you have done for our community and the NFL.
I know you a
