Lou, you were truly one of a kind. As a wrestler, you were OK, but as a manager, you are truly among the all time greats. You led more than 20 tag teams to tag team gold and you earned the respect of the general public, as far as wrestling is concerned. You will be missed and the wrestling world is a better place for knowing a man of your talents.

For Lou...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

October 20, 2009
What is there to say about the "Great Capt." I was 3 weeks old when I was at my first wrestling match. My mother would take me all through out my child days, it was what we did together. I turned 40 on Oct.18th and well I'd still go back and live those days over. Seeing Lou and all of the wrestlers and living it all over again. I've had the pleasure to meet this fine man, and am so sad that he is no longer with us. God bless all his family and friends, we will always remember him and love him. October 20, 2009
I had the honor of meeting Capt. Lou while I was on patrol in Lake Mary about 4 years ago. Capt. Lou drove up and asked for directions to the Marriott and I took him there after he got lost the first time. I didn't recognize him because he had lost so much weight and when I told him that he reminded me of Capt. Lou Albano, he roared "That's because I am Capt. Lou Albano!" There was no doubt about that after that, I asked him for a picture with him and his autograph and he very graciously obliged. It will forever be a treasure for me and he was a true gentleman. God rest his soul and my condolences to the Albano family.

Lou also did a great Mario on The Wild Adventures of The Mario Brothers Show. I have missed Lou since he has been retired and now Lou Albano and my friend Gary are messin' around the squared circle in the sky. My Sincere Condolences to Lou's Family and May His Memories Last Forever!!!

My father was Pennsylvania State Athletic Commissioner in the 1980's. I watched "The Captain" as a young boy. When I got to meet him and be around the wrestlers because of my father's position I was in my 20's. He was a fine man. Some of the wrestler's spoiled the image of them I had as a youngster. The image I had of Lou became enhanced when I met him as an adult. A very respected and respectful man. I was proud to be around him.
October 17, 2009

October 16, 2009
My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Albano Family. ... We lived down the street from Lou and his family. My brothers went to school with his children. We would see Lou around town often, and my grandmother always told the story of a time when they were on line at a local store and struck up a conversation. Somehow the subject of her age came up-she probably asked him to guess her age!! Well, he was a gentleman and guessed quite a bit younger, so she was "tickled pink", as she put it.
To the Albano Family; I hope the good memories keep you strong now and in the days ahead. He really touched many lives!

My condolences to Lou Albano's family. As a child I really enjoyed his work and was always excited to be entertained by him and his comrades. There is no doubt this was a tremendous loss to you. I have found comfort that when losing a loved one, they no longer suffer and I know this is true of Lou. God's Word assures us that "...the dead are conscious of nothing at all". Its as if they are "sleeping in death". So this is a relief of any thought of Lou suffering now. An even greater relief is God's promise that "death will be no more".
The grief you and many of us experience will be done away with. The hope of seeing our loved ones again as promised in God's Word give me and my family much to look foward to (John 5:28,29) and I hope somehow this can bring you comfort as well. Again I'm very sorry for your loss and I know God will find the courage to cope with and endure this difficult time.

The captain will be sadly missed, may he rest in peace with the all time greats.
October 16, 2009
As a highschooler in 1978, Lou made me hate him because he was so believeable in his promos, interviews, and ring antics. Now that kayfabe is over and we've all been able to see "behind the curtain" of wrestling, I am truly amazed at Lou's talent. He didn't need writers or a script, but just spoke as the words came to him! Amazing. I'm so happy he found the Lord Jesus as his Savior and that he was never shy to share his faith! God surely blessed Lou with 76 wonderful years. May God bless his family with much grace, peace, and comfort.

To the Family of Lou Albano,

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, who made such a impression on the Wrestling World.

I hope family and friends get some comfort from the following scriptures:

Revelation 21:4-"God promises that he will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more".

Matthew 5:4-"Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted". This comfort can be found at Psalms 37:29-"The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it".

From a Stranger who truly cares.

He would have the volume all the way up on his tv in his bedroom. I can remember mom or dad telling him to "turn that down". He absolutly loved watching it and I know he loved watching the Captain Lou! I can also remember my brother putting me in "HEAD LOCKS", he,he, he loved immitating the pro wrestlers. I think he also saw the Captain wrestle live somewhere, perhaps in Philly I'm not sure. Kyle, I'm sure would like to say THANK YOU LOU for all the enjoyment you gave him watching you wrestle! Kelli and I were blessed to have the chance to meet him. He will always be known as the greatest pro wrestling manager ever to us and a wonderful man overall.

I can remember back in the day watching WWF wrestling how angry I, my wife and kids would get at the "bad guys" of wrestling and their managers as well. The whole family used to get in their faces (from a distance). Thyen a friend of ours got us passes to a match at the War Memorial in Syracuse, NY, and we were allowed into the room where all these so-called bad guys who supposedly hated one-another were playing pitch. That's when wrestling left a void in me. Freddie Blassi and Lou entertained me for a long time, and will always be remembered from when wrestling was wrestling

October 15, 2009
I attended a taping of Tuesday Night Titans when it was produced in Owings Mills, Md. in the '80s. At that time Lou was a heel. During a commercial break he was standing by waiting to go on but he was shaking hands with the audience members. As soon as the show came back on Lou went right into characther even chastizing the same people he just shook hands with. Natuarally we all went into our characters to. It was a riot. When the show was oer Lou thanked everyone for their participation. What a guy. What a BIG guy.

My heart goes out to Lou Albano's family & friends.I met the man in Manhattan at a convention across the street from Madison Square Garden only three years ago.He was nothing short of a gentleman,& just wonderful to be with.He told me that Cyndi Lauper was simply a sweetheart,& who could argue with him on that?I received an autographed photo of him with Cyndi & Roddy Piper in a 'Piper's Pit' segment from the formerly WWF.I shall cherish it for life, along with the memory of meeting this fine man that Lou Albano was. He's in God's hands now,& may he rest in peace.

To Captin Lou Family, I grew up watching him wrestling as well as his cartoon series. It's always sad when you loose a dear family member to death. However, you can gain comfort by knowing that John 5:28,29 teaches the resurrection hope. Death will soon be a condition in the past because the Almighty God Jehovah will swallow up death forever.-Isaiah 25:8 May the many memories of Captain Lou comfort you during your grief. Yours truly, Dingle

October 15, 2009
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

October 14, 2009
Captain Lou was a performer way ahead of his time. He personified the wrestling business before it had to be. He made Saturday mornings all the more fun both in and out of the wrestling ring. He was an integral part of the 80's Rock n Wrestling Connection. His video promos were offbeat, off the wall and unrehearsed. Which naturally made him "The Captain." My only question was how he guided the late, Fabulous Moohlah to success while she drank "unborn virgins goatmilk?" 17 tag team champions, 2 Intercontinental champs and One World Champion. Thats an impressive resume for a truly impressive man. Captain Lou made my days as a wrestling fan a memorable and joyous time. May he now find the peace and serentity he so rightfully deserves. Thank you Captain Lou Albano you will be forever missed!!

God Bless,

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Captain Lou Albano was a real legend in and out of the squared circle. He was loved by many people all over the world. Captain Lou was also famous as Frank (The Fixer) Acavano in the 1986 movie "Wise Guys" co- starring with Danny Devito and Joe Piscopo.
Captain Lou also was the man who brought music into the wrestling world when he appeared in the Cindy Lauper video "Girls just wanna have fun".
No matter if he was a Heel or a Baby face in wrestling, Captain Lou always brought a smile to my face.
