Pavarotti,

God has finally answered the Angel's prayers, to bring you to Heaven to sing for them! Though we on earth will forever grieve your absence, we cannot help but understand their passion.

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth and saw that they were good and then must have said, in his almighty voice, "let there be Pavarotti."

How else can such a treasure be explained?

For Luciano...Still...the sound
of your magnificent voice
is heard around the world.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

our thoughts and prays are with you.
May the peace of christ and the love of the holy spirit be with you .
Thank God for his gift of Luciano's talent for His time on earth. HE is the best.
September 27, 2007
From sacred chorales to oratorios to opera arias, Luciano Pavarotti's inspiration, passion and vocal technique breathed the fire of life into every note he sang !

He kept the flame of many great composers burning with renewed interpretation.

While the ring of his voice (squillo) has no equal, the most touching parts of his singing
are revealed by the enormous vitality of his pianissimos.

BRAVO, BRAVO, and THANK YOU, THANK YOU Maestro Pavorotti
September 26, 2007
I have been an admirer of Pavarotti for many years. My mother brought him to my attention before her death because she loved his music so much. He could express emotions like no other. He will be missed but the recordings of his performances will be enjoyed forever.
September 18, 2007
I had the pleasure of growing up listening to your music and it will be my pleasure to introduce the future generations of my family to the most wonderful tenor this world has ever known. You were not just a wonderful singer, but you also were generous and caring about the world around you. You will be greatly missed.
September 17, 2007
To the family of Luciano,
Please accept my deepest condolences and thougtful prayers for you at this time of grief and healing. I know that listening to Luciano's voice so powerfully raised to Heaven with music, comforted me many times in my grievings. Listening to him may be too painful now or it may be what is needed. Many, many of God's graces and blessings were and are found in Luciano's life, gifts, music, philanthropy and so forth. Let us rejoice and be glad!
September 13, 2007
Dear Luciano,
You are the greatest tenor of all times. You have given me countless hours of pleasure with your beautiful and unforgettable voice. Listening to you brought out emotions I never dreamed I had in me. I cried for days when you left us. It hurts deeply to think that I will never again see you perform . I was fortunate to see you in your last performance at the Met in 2004. Unforgettable, that's what you are.
Thank you for giving me so much enjoyment.

Pavarotti had an incredible impact on the world of music. He will always be remembered as the tenor that brought opera to the masses.
I had the opportunity to see and hear him in Miami on the beach. A concert I will always remember. A special thank you to his loved ones who were kind enough to share him with the rest of the world.
September 11, 2007

September 11, 2007
Dear Luciano, your voice opened my world to Opera, but no one could and still does send chills through my entire being like you. I adored you in "Yes, Giorgio" and always hoped you would make more movies. Your voice, as well as your personality and zest for life and humanity are truly an inspiration that everyone in the world should adopt. This world will be a little less beautiful without you, but Heaven will be even more beautiful and wonderful with you in it. I will sincerely miss you but never forget you, for your voice and soul will live on forever as the GREATEST tenor ever to grace this planet. Rest in Peace, dear Luciano, and I look forward to hearing your songs and seeing your beautiful smile again in Heaven.

From a Classical Music Lover: Big Luciano is now singing along with the organ played by "Old George" (as I affectionately call Handel.) They are performing the Hallelujah Chorus, & Ev'ry Valley
Shall Be Exalted, together. And of course he sings along with the accompaniment of "The Pipes with the Flying Feet" (my affectionate nickname for Bach), too. He is having a SWELL & GREAT time. He was a swell & great tenor. He will be missed. I love his renditions of Handel's operas.
Musically speaking,
"Pipe Dreamer"
September 11, 2007
What joy you brought so many. God did indeed "kiss your vocal chords", and you repaid Him by developing and sharing your gift. We thank you from the bottom of our heart, and pray you will continue sharing your wonderous gift in the new life you now have.

September 11, 2007
Heaven is alive with the most beautiful music. The earth is a little bit less beautiful. How will the world live without the magnificent instrument that was his voice. May God Bless him always and those who loved him, and we all must thank God for him. His voice was truly a gift from God, and now he has taken it back.
September 10, 2007
When I hear Nessun Dorma...my eyes water, I get chills down my arms...I saw him perform 4 or 5 years ago...how breathtaking, how moving...how he eternally stole my heart that day. Now, no matter what, I remember that concert like it was yesterday...and how I had planned to go to DC last June to go to his farwell concert...and how sad I was that I hadnt loved his music my whole life. I will simply miss him and his voice...I know I will always have his music.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Luciano Pavarotti had been my idol since 1994, when a teacher had lend me a tape of 'The Essential Pavarotti'. Immediately, I was hooked onto opera and operatic singing which I still continue until today. I had the honour of watching 2 of his concerts live, one in Manchester and one in Earl's Court, London and it was one of the best concerts that I had been! When he sang 'Donna non vidi mai' and 'Non ti scordar di me' I just cried! I get goosebumps when I listen to 'Ah mes ami' which contains the high C's! I was also a member of his fan club! To me he is and will always be the best tenor in the world. I was shocked to hear that he is gone. You will be sorely missed Maestro. May your wonderful voice lives on!

To the Luciano Pavarotti family:

I am very sorry for your loss. I have experienced losses both anticipated and unexpected. When I was fifteen years old in my first year in high school, my mother died of melanoma at age 54 on Monday, December 6, 2004; we were anticipating the loss. As with me, I am sure your loss is emotionally stressful for you and your family.

Your grief may ebb and flow. It has been said that each of us has this well deep inside of us that can be filled to the brim with grief. Every time we cry, we empty out some of the well. But the well fills again. The level of sorrow in your well may lessen as time passes, but it will never run dry. There will always be birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and those days when the well seems to fill to its brim again. Allow yourself time to remember and mourn. It is part of your healing. Grief is a continuing journey.
September 09, 2007
To the family of Luciano Pavarotti, Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. One of the greatest tenor voices ever heard. We have his recordings that will never grow old. We will ever listen to the music of the Master Luciano Pavarotti. Respectfully, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson

Luciano Pavarotti, 71
I knew it was coming... but it’s still a shock when you hear of a loved one passing away. I opened up my email to condolences... and knew Luciano had finally lost his battle and is now able to rest and see his mother and father. I will miss him terribly. He was a friend, a colleague, a mentor, coach, critic, and above all a grand human being. I am in rehearsal for Un Ballo in Maschera right now with Minnesota Opera and I had booked a flight to be able to attend tomorrow, but circumstances are conspiring against me and I just can’t get there in time. My heart and soul are reaching out to the family to offer comfort in what is bound to be a long but hopefully peaceful recovery and time of sympathy.

Luciano and I shared the stage in his World Tour Concerts over 30 times since my first encounter with him at his competition in 1989 where I was one of 40 winners. The direct result of the competition was being invited to sing with him on a PBS “Pavarotti Plus” and then Adina to his Nemorino in the Opera Company of Philadelphia’s production of Elixir of Love. The production was almost cancelled because of cracked roof beams in the concert hall. What a thrill to be chosen to sing with the greatest voice of opera!

My career has had many exciting moments many of which are because of where and what I was singing while on tour with Luciano Pavarotti. I remember his humor - he loves to tell stories and jokes, which can be pretty tricky to follow in Modenese Italian. He’s a wonderful cook who loved wandering down the hallway of the hotel we were staying in carrying a pan of scrambled eggs and tomatoes or whatever else we were all eating. Most nights before a concert he’d play poker until the wee hours and usually win. I’ve met little Alice and have gone shopping many times with Nicoletta. One particular memory involves going in and out of an antique shop in San Antonio to the car where Luciano was in search of the perfect birthday gift for Alice. I knew it when I finally found it and his face confirmed my find with an enormous grin and those sparkling eyes.

What memories there are....Eating truffles in Italy with his entourage after he sent the best hunter and his dogs out...Singing for the Emir in Doha, Qatar and meeting all of his wives four days before the War started...Meeting Presidents and movie stars backstage after concerts...Police escorts, dinners in Japan, China and singing on the Beach in Malaysia...personal tours of amazing car collections.... swimming in the “cement pond” at a friend’s house in Beverly Hills, and everyone holding hands during take-off and landing in the private jet (he’s a nervous flyer) and many more.

For instance in Las Vegas my security escort and I became lost in the new Mandalay Bay events center and I was late to the orchestra rehearsal. He looked at me over his reading glasses and said “Breathe and watch me...” He then proceeded to give me a note by note coaching through “Si, Mi chiamano Mimi”. Why me? I’ve asked many times.... Being in the right place, maybe...Hard work, perhaps... but I think the best reason is he knew and I knew that our voices “felt” good together. That was and will always be and extraordinary sensation standing on stage with Luciano, matching notes, phrasing, heart and music with him. He didn’t, nor did he try to intimidate me, he was always kind to me (sometimes even when it was hard to take) and requested to sing with me as much as was possible. We were set to do the final six concerts, including the White House, of his Farewell Tour when he discovered the cancer...

He gave me so much that I will carry with me always. He was a man who cared deeply about his family and friends, his art and the far-reaching potential of music. I could write a book, but for now I will mourn with the rest of the world over the loss of a singer who changed the face of opera and a friend who cared about me.
We will miss you Luciano. God rest.
Cynthia Lawrence

September 09, 2007
All of humanity witnessed and is crestfallen at the loss of a timeless man who stands beside other giants like Michelangelo, Galileo, Newton, and other greats who were the only ones in their time who could do what they did.

Pavarotti will become more famous in death than he was in his nearly incredidible life. We will all miss you, Luciano. Heaven is brighter for your presence.
September 09, 2007
Truly a gift from GOD! What a voice, and a great man. With my wife Nairie and baby daughter Mariana we hear his voice each day. As a tenor myself, I know his voice is unmatched!!! GOD BLESS!!!
September 08, 2007
I first heard this wonderful golden voice on a record in 1972. I don't recall the opera, but I knew that that voice was amazing and that Pavarotti would be probably the greatest tenor of all time. He was, and my wife, Roberta and I enjoyed him beyond words.

To the Pavarotti Family,

Although my heart is broken that he is no longer with us, he graced us with his beautiful voice and so united the masses. I am happy to have been fortunate enough to meet and speak to him once and to have heard him live at a concert in Atlantic City with my husband. The thrill of attending that concert and hearing his wonderful voice are forever embeded in my heart. I shall never forget my husbands eyes as Luciano sang aria after aria! Luciano, your voice graced my husbands heart at a very difficult time in our lives, as he was also fighting for his life.

Sadly, he succumbed to his illness five months ago and now he is privilidged to listen to you as you sing with the angels.

Adiu Maestro! Your talent, kindness and generosity will forever be your legacy

A voice of unique sweetness, radiance and power; and a good man besides. I never lived when Babe Ruth played baseball nor when Nijinsky danced or Liszt played the piano, but I count myself blessed that I have lived during the age of Luciano Pavarotti.

Ciao Maestro, Bravissimo and Grazie Mille!!

Many years ago this fine man sang at a church in Canada at Christmas time. A young boy stood next to him and when they hit the really high notes the boy looked up at Pavarotti with great awe and a bond was formed. I will have that in my memory forever.
Goodbye, great one.

How blessed to have you in our world during my lifetime. Your music has filled my soul all these years. Fortunately I heard you sing a recital live in Las Vegas, Nevada many years ago. I shouted for an encore Nessun Dorma ( that is to be my funeral music), You smiled and pointed at me and sang it. At the finish my comment: "Now I AM ready to die." May the heavens rejoice in having you as their tenore grande.

Luciano Pavarotti, this GIANT of lyric opera, has left this world for a better place in heaven where, I am sure, he is singing "Ave Maria" with "Mille Cherubini in Coro" at the throne of God. The world is deeply saddened at his passing, but his voice, his personality and his charisma will live forever in the hearts and minds of his admirers and of all those whom he touched with his generosity. He will be surely remembered as THE TENOR of the 20th Century. I had the good fortune of attending his first recital at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, Canada, in the late 60s and I was impressed by the clarity of his voice and deeply touched by his rendition of Puccini's "Che gelida manina" and Cilea's "E'la solita storia" which brought tears to my eyes. From that moment he became my "idol". The next day I bought his first LP recording, the beginning of my Pavarotti collection which I will cherish for as long as I live. I do not remember ever missing a single broadcast of his "Live from the Met" or any other of his performances on PBS.

Ancora BRAVO!!! e GRAZIE, INDIMENTICABILE MAESTRO. Riposi nella pace del Signore.
Porgo le piu' sentite condoglianze alla famiglia Pavarotti in questa triste circostanza.
September 08, 2007
The greatest voice has been silenced and will join the Choir of Heaven. He brought opera music to people who had never been exposed to it before and made it sound appealing to all men. May God Bless Luciano and all of his family. The people of the world are saddened by his loss.
September 08, 2007
It was my privilege to see Luciano Pavarotti in a solo recital at the Seattle Opera House in the early '80s. His stirring rendition of 'O marenariello brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful for his huge effort and generous spirit in bringing opera into the lives of millions of people. He was magic. I cherish my collection of his recordings.

September 08, 2007
Thank you, Luciano for blessing us with your gifts, reminding us to enjoy beauty in life.
September 08, 2007
Thank you Mr. Pavarotti for sharing your enormous talent with the world. You touched my heart in so many ways. Thank you!
Rest in Peace.
September 07, 2007
You have only to listen to Pavarotti to know there is a God. What a gift to be able to make people forget for a few minutes all the problems of the world and just experience joy at such an exuberant voice and personality.
September 07, 2007
I am not even a fan of his type of music, but was spellbound every time I heard him sing. I doubt there will ever be another with a voice like Pavarotti.
September 07, 2007
I was a child when in the hallow halls of my grandfather's house, I heard him for the first time. Onward, I continued, as a kid, following his voice of perfect measure. He was the reason I began singing at all. It was when I heard "Una Furtiva lacrima" that I tried to imitate him; Scary thing was I could (having such a low range for a little girl).
He was my hero. I looked up to him as a distant uncle in Modena who I would one day meet and laugh with. We would sit down and chat about the day, and of course the music. Around, the spagetti would dance, a favorite of his and mine, and we'd laugh and carry on for hours. The days rolled on, as did the years, and I moved away to a distant land, as he stayed put to swell the nation. But my hopes hung yet, that one day I would meet him, along with my remaining idols, Elton and Bernie. Now that hope hangs clear at the door, hovering about the candle I lit for him alone. May he rest in peace and know that we loved him.

"The world has lost its voice; Now the universe will sing"
-(for Luciano)
September 07, 2007
I used to hate opera until I heard Pavarotti for the first time ten years ago. His voice had a certain magical quality few singers could ever hope to achieve. He delivered his performances with a clarity even the great Carusso never managed. I will truly miss this great singer.
September 07, 2007
Addio caro Maestro!
You may rest in peace.
Your voice will live in our hearts forever...
September 07, 2007
What a sweet voice, truly the best of the best. His concert in Edmonton a few years back remains one of the highlights of my life. Resta in pace, Maestro.
September 07, 2007
A great loss to all of us is the great gain of the
Universe as Pavarotti's voice now joins that of
the heavenly choir and will live on for eternity.
September 07, 2007
I wanted to be an opera singer since I was 14. That was almost 26 years ago. I was lucky enough to hear him sing Cavaradossi in "Tosca" at the MET back in 1985 and I got to meet him backstage as well. For an aspiring opera singer, this meant the *world* to me. He corresponded with me prior to that and I will always treasure the 3 letters I have from him- but nothing compares to him embracing me after I started to cry upon meeting him in his dressing room. What a kind soul, full of compassion and generosity. And always and forever, the greatest tenor that ever sang a note! May God Bless and keep your families well and I will wait for the day I finally get to sing the duet from Madama Butterfly with you in heaven!
Rest in peace.
September 07, 2007
What a wonderous age we live in to have shared in the age of Luciano Pavarotti, man's first footsteps on the moon, and other giant people and events that will become timeless in history -- including infamous events.

Unlike the era before recordings, Pavarotti can still take us away from what is bad in the world. I cannot imagine the total loss that people felt prior to electronic recording devices.
September 07, 2007
Now may you be able to sing to my Grammie & Aunt in Heaven - they were ones who were always in awe when they listened to you. You will be forever missed LUCIANO PAVAROTTI...Godspeed

Dear Luciano,

My dear, departed Maria loved your exceptional talent sooooo very much! I was never a big opera fan myself, but the end of your signature 'Nessun Dorma' ALWAYS teared me up without even knowing what it meant! I'm sure my Maria is very happy to see and hear you!

God bless you,

I will be ever grateful for this man whom I did not ever meet, who with his most distinctive voice conveyed the beauty and ecstasy of opera music to me, a 60's generation woman who only knew Rock and Mo'town.
Thank you, with all my heart for caring and sharing your one of a kind talent, exuberance and love.

September 07, 2007
To me, the human voice is the most beautiful, moving and touching instrument. And Luciano Pavarotti at his best proved this to be so very true.
We, music lovers, have a legacy to cherish.
Stars will go down, but at dawn, his voice remains the victor!
September 07, 2007
We loved him, also, the greatest
tenor of the 20th century.
September 07, 2007
He was undoubtedly one of the finest tenors this world has ever had. He will be missed by a great many people around the world. Fortunately, there are other great tenors who will fill the void left by his passing.
September 07, 2007
There are Tenors, and there was PAVAROTTI. Simply the greatest!!Rest in Peace Maestro. May the Heavens enjoy your voice. Ciao!!
September 07, 2007
It has been an honor, for many years, to grow in vocal music with the splendid, rich, and sensitive voice of Luciano Pavarotti. I have had the pleasure of presenting his voice on a weekly classical music radio program a number of times over the years to great public response. His recordings will continue to preserve this one-in-a-lifetime kind of vocal instrument. May his family know they are in our thoughts and prayers. I lost a brother-in-law to pancreatic cancer. It's an insidious disease that I hope, one day, can be conquered.
September 07, 2007
Loved him as a great tenor and a super human being.

I will miss that gorgeous voice and broad smile.

Bravo, Luciano.

As a 72 year old man I have watched Maestro Pavarotti's career develope over the years. His glorious voice, musical interpretations, and love for people made him one of a kind, and will never be forgotten. Each time that I watch videos and listen to cd's of this great man I am deeply touched. His rendition of "Nessun Dorma" causes me to weep each time I see or hear him sing it. The music in heaven will be all the more beautiful because he is there. May God Bless Him.
September 07, 2007
God's choir has just gained the most wonderful voice.....how I would love to hear that choir with Luciano Pavarotti as their solo. I will surely miss his voice here on earth. God speed.
September 07, 2007
May Maestro Pavarotti be remembered not only as a Great Italian Tenor but also as a Great Italian Humanitarian. I had the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting the Maestro on two separate occassions, once on a cat walk below Lincoln Center subsequent to him cancelling a concert due to ill health and the other was on a Rome to New York flight, of which, I was the Captain. I went back and had a brief chat. He was quite gracious and enjoyable.

Requiescat in Pace
September 07, 2007
Luciano Pavarotti, was the man who introduced me, like he did for so many others, to the pleasure of Opera.
I will always be grateful. He was a giant in more than just the physical sense

grazie.

AN AMAZING VOICE FROM GOD..NOW HE CAN SING HIS CONCERTS IN PERSON..
September 07, 2007
My father who died of the same illness in 1982 was a great fan as am I. The world will miss the wonderful voice and personality of the greatest tenor of all time who brought so much joy to the world. My deepest condolences to the Pavarotti family in this time of sorrow. Mr. Pavarotti will be sorely missed.
September 07, 2007
My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Maestro Pavarotti. My vivid memory of the first time I saw him at the Metropolitain Opera in the early eighties will forever remain a treasured moment in time for me. My husband was an Opera student at the Mannes College in New York during those years. We would save our pennies for standing room at the Met. Although we divorced and I have remarried; Maestro's music has remained in heart and he himself was the most influential person who changed the way I believed and thought about music. My ex husband was diagnosed with cancer about the same time as Maestro's pancreatic cancer diagnoisis was announced to the world. What was also ironic is that my current husband had also been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2005 and was treated in NYC. My husband is among one of God's miracles and is doing well- unfortunately through our work in the Pancreatic Cancer Community we have lost so many wonderful friends and people we have met along the way. Our life work has been rededicated to the erradication of Pancreatic Cancer and support of those whose lives have been touched by it. You all are in our prayers.
Bravo Maestro..God speed.

To a truly great man who brought the joy of opera to people who only knew rock and roll or country music, and who had a voice that would make a bottle shake, you will be missed by every person who has ever tried to sing a song. Your voice helped lift the world after the loss of a Princess. Now, who will lift us after the loss of the King of Opera?
September 07, 2007
You shall be missed my Friend. I watched you at different Opera Houses, on TV and listing to dozen of your CD. You kept me company in my lonely days and gave me joy and sunshine with your slendid voice. You will be always part of my life.

Salvatore Quasimodo wrote in his extraordinary poem, "Ed e' Subito Sera":
Ognuno sta solo sul cuor della terra trafitto da un raggio di sole: ed e' subito sera.
Each one of us is alone on the (face) heart of the earth pierced by a ray of sunlight: and soon it is evening.

Your evening came too soon, but you left us with so much sunshine for our day until our evening also arrives. You are loved and missed and we are grateful to you for sharing your great talent to make our lives that much brighter. I extend my heartfelt sympathy to your loved ones. With respect to an unforgettable talent, Maria Concetta

My wife of 42 years, Myra, passed away in March fom cancer. She loved your singing and as bad as the acoustics are at the San Jose Arena, we went to your performance with the Three Tenors. I know she would have missed you very much. The recordings of your performances were well played.
September 07, 2007
I first heard him sing in 1966 when I was twelve years old and will continue to listen , not only with my ears but with my entire being. God Bless Luciano Pavarotti.
September 07, 2007
I was privileged to attend a performance by "The Maestro" in Birmingham Alabama in 2001. What a wonderful evening of beautiful music. This was a dream come true for myself and my mother.
Pavarotti will be missed, but never forgotten. I am sure he has taken his place in Heaven's choir.
September 07, 2007
Like opera and music lovers everywhere I am deeply saddened by the death of this musical giant. I had the opportunity to first hear him in recital in Boston at Symphony Hall with piano accompaniment. The applause at the end was similar to being at a bullfight. The audience was exhausted. The time was early 70s and I think this was his first Boston appearance. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers that time and might have a program of the selections performed.

My father had the great pleasure to see Caruso and I had the greatest pleasure of seeing you many times and the Three Tenors 3 times. You will live on in my heart forever. I have every CD you have recorded and I will be listening to your golden voice for as long as I live.
When any one would ask me what I wanted for Christmas, I always said I want Luciano, I mean him himself.

September 07, 2007
The voice is one of the most beautiful instruments that God can give and Luciano Pavarotti had that special gift. I observed that the voice can sound like a violin and also be powerful like a drum. I just wished that I could have heard you live somewhere in my life time. I too do sing I am a 1st Soprano and understand how much energy it takes to sing. I just learned that you went up to heaven last night. And now you are one of the beautiful angels singing in heavens choir. Someday maybe when it's my turn to leave this world we can sing together what glory that will be someday. My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this sad time. Thanks for sharing your gift of singing so beautiful for the world. We love you and you will be surely missed.
Rest in peace!

September 06, 2007
My brother arranged for our whole family to attend Pavarotti's concert in Phoenix a few years ago, in celebration of our mother's birthday. I remember my brother telling my teenagers, "You've just heard the greatest voice of the twentieth century... perhaps the greatest in history!" It was a very emotional experience for all of us -- and for so many others who attended that evening. Tears were streaming down many faces by the end of the concert. The audience was on its feet, cheering, and pleading for encores -- Mr. Pavarotti graced us with three. Everyone in the audience seemed so sad to see it finally end, but we left there with such beautiful memories! Thank you, Mr. Pavarotti for what you gave to my family and to the world.
September 06, 2007
THE WORLD HAS LOST A GREAT ARTIST AND A GREAT MAN.. HE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY AND REMEMBERED BY ALL.. R.I.P.
September 06, 2007
All remember the singer. I remember that passenger aboard TWA Flight 842, late into Milan on Dec 22, 1975, which unfortunately crashed on landing. My sons, Andrew and Zachary, were also on that flight coming to visit me in Milan for their school holiday.. Mr Pavarotti came to spend his holiday in Modena. His reassuring personality calmed all as the rescue teams came to remove the people. I have heard him sing at La Scala, but this performance at Malpensa was his best.

September 06, 2007
I followed Pavarotti's situation from the time he was sick in July/06 to the shocking news today of his death. I also was operated on for duodenal cancer in July/06 and know what suffering from the complications of cancer and surgery does to the spirit, body, and soul. Pavarotti was courageous, optimistic, and full of zest for life. I am personally very saddened by his loss and I wish strength for his family.
September 06, 2007
Luciano Pavarotti made me love and appreciate opera like never before. We're blessed to have heard music history in the making. We'll miss you, but remember you through your music.
September 06, 2007
I have never been a listener of opera. However, my Mom was a big opera fan. And she loved Luciano Pavarotti. I remember her going to the "celebrity series" at the Boston Symphony when he was on the bill in the 70s, 80s and 90s. So, I know he brought much joy into the lives of many. My Mom passed away at this time of year and his passing has made me think of her and how much she loved his singing. He will be dearly missed by many.

Pavarotti touched the lives of many, no matter how familiar or unfamiliar with opera--something few singers in any genre can accomplish. Thank you for this wonderful gift. May you rest in peace, Luciano.

Though I do regret I never saw you in person, you will allways be in my heart. Heaven will surely be more wonderful with you there signing. You will truly be missed.

You showed the world how to sing with passion. A great Italian. You will be missed and never replaced.

Pavarotti is alive! Only his voice died!
The world can rest at peace if we can produce "tenors and mensh" like Luciano.
From someone who never met him on stage or otherwise but still recognize his voice -- everywhere!
Condoleances to his closest family -- the planet earth!
Sam of Montreal.

I was in my teenage years when I first heard Luciano. His love, passion and grace taught a teenage boy that opera was one of the most beautiful acts of the human voice. It was from that point I made the choice to join many choirs and even had the opportunity to perform in state compotation in my home state of New York. Hearing Luciano Pavarotti sing was one of the purest and most liberating feelings I have ever had. His voice, his image and his presents has made us all better people. Few people are remembered by history, even fewer are remembered for gracing the world with true beauty. May the smile of God’s loving face be on you Luciano, as you grace the heavenly kingdom with your voice.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
