Mike was a great guy. I used to take care of him and the guys when they visited the casino I worked at in Atlantic City. He even gave me his glove after pitching a 2 hitter. A real class act! Rest is Peace and may God Bless his family.
I went to many, many Oriole's games when I was a teenager. I have pictures of Mike after the game leaving and going to his car. He was a super nice person, I am very saddened by his death.
Mike Flanagan and his many and various successes in life made his family and fans proud. Thanks for the memories!
Grew up with Mike in Manchester, NH. Played CYO baseball with him. Always a great athlete and a great person. Followed his career with pride and enjoyed his successes - of which there were many. God grant him rest and grant his family and friends peace and comfort at this most difficult time.
sorry and prayers going out to the flannagan family wow what a shocker
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember well when Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan visited the Ronald McDonald House with Christmas cookies and candies for our families. You were both so kind, and Mr. Flanagan brought an autographed baseball for my son. I will always have the greatest respect for what he accomplished with his life, and for his kindness to my family.
Susan Moscareillo, Baltimore Maryland
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and daughters at this most difficult time. As long-time Oriole fans my husband and I thought Mike Flanagan was the greatest pitcher and for the last several years were blessed to know him as an announcer. His family will remain in our prayers. Fondly, Jeanne & Bob Crane
My deepest condolence,,,,,,May the family find comfort knowing that God is closed to the broken heart one
Mike was a wonderful man. Anyone who had the chance to know him was blessed. Alex, I am so sorry..thinking of you and sending our love to your family. God bless you all.

RIP To the Flanagan Family, The Orioles Organization and fans everywhere, I offer my condolences. Mike was a great baseball player and a even better person. I was and still a fan of the Orioles one of the classiest organizations in MLB because of players like Mike. May he rest in peace.
A fan of your work. On and off the field. Best wishes and strength to your family. RIP
To the Flanagan family,
This truly is a sad time.May you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone during this difficult time.May God almighty give you the strength to make to deal with your loss.
Baltimore and all Oriole fans will miss you! You were the best left handed pitcher ever! Enjoyed your comments during the O's games. I even remember you sitting on the back of a convertable during the 1983 Orioles parade down to City Hall. My prayers go out to your family and friends. Nancy Packie Brown, Rosedale, MD
Mike Rest in Peace. You are indeed my favorite Oriole, baring none. Best left handed picture I have ever seen.
from westminster mike you will be missed deeply, our prayers go out to your family. mike stevens
From Manchester with heartfelt sadness. You will always be our star.
Flanny- A decent man that Bmore will miss and always be proud of. Our prayers are now with your family. May God Bless. Your fan from Charlottesvile via Baltimore.
A sad time with the loss of Flanny. Enjoyed his pitching and listening to his comments during the O's games.
It's good to talk about a man who had honor, a great legacy, a pillar of the community. Mike Flanagan was the Orioles, he love the Team and he love Balitimore. Good people are always missed, may the love of Jesus Christ surround your Family and Friends. Rev 21: 4
I can only say that I am shocked by the loss of Mike. He was a very classy guy and I will miss hearing him call the O's games. He really brought the positive spirit even when the game was down. There was never a negative word uttered, instead he would crack his cool humor and you couldn't help but laugh. Mike will be missed by all, but he is always looking down on you. There will be times of laughter and times of tears. All are expected as you tackle your fears. Mike will be there with you just listen for his voice. He will still lead and guide you only now it's by God's choice. Mike may you be at peace and rest in the arms of the God of your choosing, Just do us O's fans a favor and keep on cheering this great team on. You are our eternal cheerleader. We will listen for your still voice to help us be the best we can be. Until we can meet in Heaven. I'm forever and Orioles fan
Baseball's loss! Mike Flanagan was a Baltimore Oriole in the days when playing baseball "The Oriole Way" brought the team to the top of the American League. I'll never forget those "Days of Glory" or Mike Flanagan's part in them.
My condolences to the Flanagan family. May the words found at Job14:13-15 bring you comfort.
Tereffic friend, great player who will be greatly missed. RIP, Mike.
How terrible....Flanny was extremely impressionable to me as a kid growing up playing little league ball. I was a left handed pitcher like him.
I emulated every move he made on the mound. I revered him and Scotty. Those were the days of great O's teams.
So sad to lose a 30 year community leader in Flanny who put so many smiles on my face on and off the field over the years.
I will keep wife Alex and the three beautiful daughters in prayer as they go through an incredible trial in their lives.
I pray that they can overcome the anguish and pain left behind to them. Stay strong and don't second guess
Perry Hall, Md.
Baltimore appreciates your contributions to the Orioles and the community. God will carry you now.
You will be missed. All of your fine contributions to this world will be remembered. My condolences to your family.
I grew up in Boston a Red Sox fan, but when I moved to Baltimore in the early 90's I became a Mike Flanagan fan. Without a doubt the most enjoyable color commentator I ever heard. Then about 8 years ago when my best friend was dying of ALS and Joe Foss (another class act) invited us to the owners box, Mike went out of his way to sit down and talk with us. He made such an impression on me as what we Jews call a "mensch"--a truly good and decent guy. My heartfelt condolences to his wife and daughters.
You did not have to be a Baltimore O fan to apericate Mike Flanagan as a person and players. I been a Mets fan but i liked Mike and he always showed class on times i saw him play and after his career. He will be missed.
Our hearts go out to you in your time of loss. Mike was a great Athlete,Oriole,& all around cool guy. I watched him pitch from when he came up to the majors until retirement and then as an Executive for the O's and as a great announcer. He will be missed by all and what a great loss.
May God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.

You are a true Oriole and a great pitcher. You are loved and will be missed so much.
Such a loss.....not just for Mike's family, but to those of us who loved him and revered him. I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful young man and working with him at a downtown event. He loved baseball and his family. God will grant his family the comfort and strength to help
in Mike's passing.
I knew Mike when we were neighbors in Baltimore & I was just a young teen. Wonderful man. He & his first wife helped us during some very difficult times....so very sad. I hope he is at peace. xoxoxo
R.I.P. Mike..you were an Oriole through and through and I was always proud to route for the Baltimore Orioles

My son, Timmy (who was 3 when he first met Mike and you) and I will always have fond memories of Mike and you from all of the Springs in here in Florida....Mike fished off my dock and ate crabs in the back yard. We loved Mike and will miss him very, very much. May God be with you, Alex....Timmy and Pete Leichliter

I hope that the family finds comfort from Psalms 147:3 which says:

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived and I'm okay.
I'm writing this from heaven.
Here I dwell with God above. Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, I welcome you.
Its good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they will be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do, and foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years, because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb, but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too; that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain; Then you can say to God at night....My day was not in vain. And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile. So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low; Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind; I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when its time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
God Bless the Flanagan Family!
Rest in Peace Flanny!! I will miss you!
To Mike's family and friends - may you find comfort in your happy memories during this difficult time.
Mike always knew what he was talking about when broadcasting. He did not pretend to be somebody he was not. He was a great player for the Baltimore Orioles. Need more like him on today's team
Sorry this ended in this fashion. The only inward peace a man has is in the the Lord Jesus Christ. John 14:27-My peace I give unto you. Peace comes through The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for you. Been Os fan a long time.
Mike may God BLess you and your family. I so loved it when you were on the mound for my beloved Baltimore. You have been so missed as a player and now even bigger loss as the GREAT human being you were. God Bless your family.

I will never forget Mike's smiling face during my Freshman study hall at Manchester Memorial High School.
Rest in Peace...Prayers for your family
I know I haven't seen you since I was very young, but I grew up hearing such great things about you. My Mom and the rest of my family always spoke so highly of you and told us of the memories they had as your cousin. I remember spending time with you, Kerry and Katie for the Dearborn/Flanagan reunion at my parents home in Tampa...what great memories they are. May you rest in peace now, Mike. Sending hugs to Uncle Ed & Aunt Lorraine, your daughters, siblings and the rest of my family at this difficult time.
As a lifelong Orioles fan, Flanny held a special place in my heart. He was funny, sincere, honest and what you wanted your kids to see in a professional athlete. We will surely miss him and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family for, as great as his loss is felt by his fans and friends, it is a far greater loss to his wife and daughters. Peace be with you, sir. May God welcome you across His homeplate and bring you the untroubled tranquility you sought. Orioles fan since the 1960's.
Mike was a one of a kind person and a true Oriole who will be sadly missed,we lost a friend and a very good customer.

Many thanks to the Flanagan family for sharing Mike with us. He was very special and will be missed by all. May you find peace in this difficult time.
I will never forget the image of Mike's coming in from the Oriole bullpen to make the final two strikeouts at Memorial Stadium. The music from the loudspeakers was "You've gotta have heart."--and Mike had lots of heart. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
Two predominant memories have kept with me all day about Mike Flanagan. The first was the first World Series win he pitched vs. the Pirates on a very cold night at Memorial Stadium in '79. The second thought was recalling how he injured his heel helping a stranded woman motorist on his way to an off season charity basketball game with his teammates. A consummate professional on and off the field. Rest in eternal peace and grant his family strength to endure this terrible tragedy.
OK, I really followed Mike's career and admired him as a person as well as an athlete. I am so sad it had to end this way and wish his family the best of thoughts and good wishes.
To the Flanagan family; May God bless and give you the strength to endure this very difficult time in your lives. I grew up watching Mike pitch and he gave me many many happy and fond memories.
My sincere sympathy in the untimely death of Mike. I saw and talked to Mike and Al Bumbry on the parking lot of the old Memorial Stadium many years ago. He was so very humble and accomodating to the many Oriole fans who came to watch him pitch. He was one of the great orioles, not only as a player, but as a person. He will be missed and remembered.
To the Flanagan family; Our prayers rise up for you, our hearts go out to you, our arms embrace you. With deepest sympathy from all back home who never forgot you and never will in Manchester, NH.
