For Nick...

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

May 22, 2009
To Nick. I wish I could have seen you pitch, and I know that I was about to get introduced to a lifetime of watching you play ball, but I never got that opportunity, but you did more in your 22 beautiful years, and made so many people happy, especaily your dad, and your grandparents, who I always admired when I was growing up. You were and will forever be in so many hearts, and loved by everyone. I can also say that I include you in all my prayers along with your dad, and gradparents, Jim, and Connie. I was distracted with my son's career, and didn't get to enjoy you, but my mother always told me how well you were doing, and she listened to all of your games. We all have such a short time here on earth when you look at the big picture, and you made the most out of all your time here, and probably more than anyone could expect. I will also love your dad for the brave guy he is. He is so strong. I wish I could be half the man he is. God bless you Nick Adenhart, and all the Adenhart family. Love Gus Maestrales.

A dream projected to eternity: The game goes on!

One month has gone by since young Nicholas James Adenhart existence was projected to eternity.

The fact has given me much to think of and I believe I am not the only one. One thing for instance is that during his good-lived life in this world, Nick taught everyone lessons about the way to live a dream with courage and dedication.

At this very moment I don’t know much of how Nick felt deep inside, what he thought or what he was personally preparing for the future. The only thing I know is that he was on the track of his own dream. Nevertheless, I have drawn my own conclusion (and I am sure of it): Nick is still in the game! He threw us all a ball as he parted and those who parted along with him count on the game in their very right positions.

As there have been many heartfelt sympathy demonstrations in this site from closest people to the Adenhart family, I really appreciate this chance to set mine since I am not close at all. I trust to have found a respectful and heartfelt way to encourage you.

I was very saddened to hear of this story...such promising young adults who will never have a chance to show what they could have done. Although Nick let us know where he was going that last night when he pitched a great game. It is these situations where most wonder, why God, but our Faith must prevail. We must take comfort in knowing God has something much better for them in heaven. My prayers are with the families as you try and get through this difficult time. God bless you all.
April 18, 2009

We cannot get him off our minds and pray for all of you. I am so very proud to be able to say that Nick Adenhart and I graduated from the same high school. I only hope, as a parent myself now, that all of you remeber to pat yourselves on the backs even while grieving because all of us could only wish we could be such amazing parents and raise 2 amazing sons like you have. Dear Adenhart Family,
I am so sorry for your loss of your loved one. When death occurs the thought of never again being able to talk to laugh with, or hold your loved one can be difficult to bear. Please find comfort in Jesus words here at 2 Corinthian 1:3,4: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort. Who comforts us in all our tribulations that we may be able to comfort those in which we ourseves are being comforted by God.

April 14, 2009
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Nick's Family,

So sorry to read about the loss of your son. I wish we could have known him, as our son plays baseball in high school. Every boy dreams of being a major league player. Nick lived the dream, even though it was short. He was a winner and still is, in God's heart. Your family is in the prayers and thoughts of all.
April 13, 2009
To the Parents and Friends of Nick Adenhart,

I cannot imagine the level of grief you are experiencing at the loss of your son Nick. Having been a pitcher in High School and College and never even seeing the light of day in the minors I cannot even imagine the elation that Nick must have felt that night on the mound when he executed so brilliantly and walked off ahead in the game. It seems as if the good Lord above gave Nick inexpressible joy doing what he loved and worked so hard to achieve here on his last night on earth and of course now inexhaustible joy with the Lord forever. I am sure God has a spot on the roster reserved for him in Heaven's Major Leagues.
April 13, 2009
My sincere condolences To The Adenhart Family on the passing of YOUR Beloved Nick ... May God continue to comfort and LOVE YOU all during this sacred time of mourning and celebration ... Nick is now pitching for the greatest baseball team ever with Angel wings ...

Lean On God
By: Charles G. Turner, Sr.

In life our love ones and friends sometimes suddenly pass away
For many reasons we don’t understand
Our hearts become heavy with sorrow
Just remember to pray to God and put it in his hands

As time goes on there are days when we feel sad
When that happens think of the good times you’ve had
Lift up your head and carry on
And ask God to make you strong

Lean on God through your stress and strain
And he will surely ease the hurt and pain
April 13, 2009
DEAR ADENHART FAMILY, YOU HAVE MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR LOVED ONE. MAY THE ANGELS UP ABOVE WATCH OVER HIM. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY.
April 13, 2009
Dear Jimmy and Janet

We remember the day we were blessed to be able to hold Nick when he was brought home from the hospital. You were the first of our SS friends to have a child, and he was so amazing. He made us all smile even then. We remember using Nick's Ambesol and Janet being our most beautiful bridesmaid. Unfortunately we lost touch as life gets so busy. From time to time we would hear how amazing Nick was doing as a young man in his baseball career and were so happy for him.

We Can't begin to know the difficulties you are going through, but please know that we are thinking of you . We have you in our prayers and ask God to give you the strength you need to help you through the days ahead. We hope we can make contact to extend our sincere condolences to you. We are thinking of you. . .
Love The Ryan Family

My thoughts and prayers go out to Nick's Parents, family and his Angel's teammates. As a parent myself, I had to endure the loss of my beautiful 23 year old son. He to was killed in a horrific boating accident in 2007, so I understand your pain. I know there's no words at this moment that can help you other then knowing that you have alot of people, friends and even strangers here to help you get thru it. Your son was a gift from above, he had an amazing future ahead of him but for reasons we don't understand God called upon him.
Know that his love for you was ever lasting and may the beautiful memories you shared with you son, your friend, lives on inside you. He touched so many people's lives. May God give you the strenght to help ease your pain.

Only the tears, on my cheeks
There will be homeruns again

April 11, 2009
To the family of Nick Adenhart,

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to all of you. I cry every time I see Nick's videos from the game he pitched so amazingly on Wednesday, and all the photos shown from high school to the majors. I cannot even imagine how all of you feel. Many in my family are baseball fanatics. My grandson, who is 9, has a goal to become a major league baseball player just like Nick.

The entire baseball nation is a family and we all care so deeply about the players and the passion for the game. What a tragedy for all who will never get to see how far Nick would have gone in his career.

My heart breaks when I think about what happened to such a wonderful young man, and what your family must be going through. It is so hard to comprehend that he was called by God so soon. I believe he will have eternal life in heaven with all the angels and saints and you will be with him again to share in that eternal life.

I pray your memories will be of comfort to you now and always. Nick was an angel here on earth and is now your guardian angel in heaven. God bless you all.

With my deepest sympathies,

Carol Mayernick

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Nick was a very talanted pitcher. I am so sorry for your loss. Nick will be looking down at all of you from Heaven. May God be with you all at this time.
April 11, 2009
Even tough I am a White Sox fan when you see talent you admire it no matter what team he is on. Your son's talent was that which stuck out too me as a rookie and the future was his for the taken. It is a shame that we as baseball lovers will not be able to view his talent. He will be missed in the baseball world. Be sure and close your eyes everday for those memories will always be there and will never die. May God keep you all!

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

Such a special young man. My boyfriend knew him from when he played on the Bees and was always raving about what a great player and what a wonderful person he was. My heart goes out to his mom and dad because he was their only child. I only have one child who is a pitcher in high school and it would kill me if something ever happened to him. God bless Jim and Jean. RIP Nick and pitch a ball for me to Babe Ruth. You will always be our Angel.
April 10, 2009
Dear Adenhart family,
My condolences are with you. There are no words that I or anyone can say to heal the pain that you must feel. I pray that God will keep you and your entire family. I pray for the families of the other victims as well.

God bless you,

Thanks to Nick for being the great person he truly was.

April 10, 2009

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

April 10, 2009
I am having a hard time believing that Nick is gone as a life long Angel fan it is shocking. It is nice to know that all of baseball and all the media are paying tribute to someone specail who struggled to get were he wanted to and that was a major league pitcher.
My heart and prayers go out to all the families who are affected my this tragedy. I am glad that his father got to see him pitch before God took him away we as parents are always concerned about our children.
May God bless them all I pray the we learn from this tragedy!
April 10, 2009
We are so sorry for your loss, How proud you must have been of Nick. What a wonderful young man first, and also a great strong athlete, He was a great example to our son who is also a pitcher. Our prayers are with you. Isaiah 41:10
April 10, 2009
We always ask when tragedys like this happen, Why? Why did this have to happen.? God is the one who knows. God called for him and we still wonder why. Why would he take the life of such a young man with a wonderful family and career in the manor in which he did? Please know that these are the mysteries of life. There is no answer that can help your Grief. It is apart of life to grieve. We must all go thru it. Jesus died on the cross in a horrible way, but he arose in 3 days. Nick will always always be with you. you can't physcially see him, and you can't physcially see Jesus but he is with us all the time. His full spirit will be there for you always. We pray for all you that God Will help you during this most difficult time.

You look at the opposing team as the enemy in baseball; because you want your home team to win but when something like this happens, your home team winning doesn't matter, baseball doesn't matter right now, because this is such a tragic loss not only to Nicks family and the Angels organization but to the whole baseball world because this kid had a bright future ahead of him and he proved that last night against the A's. On behalf of my family and myself our thoughts and prayers go out the Nicks family and the Angels organization.

Another senseless sports tragedy. It's never acceptable when an athlete (especially a young one) has his life cut short. All of baseball is in mourning. I had never even heard of Nick until he pitched against my beloved A's last night. Now, I will remember his name forever. I am without many words after hearing what has happened. Condolences and thoughts to Nick's family and the families of the other victims of this tragedy. May we all step back and see things from a healthier perspective.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

I lost my oldest son who was 28 years old, last May, to complications of Diabetes. It is a hurt that never goes away. The only encouragement I can give you, is that it DOES get easier as time goes on. If you have religion, cling to that. Faith really does make it bearable. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

RIP Nick. Too young, too soon.

TREASURE EACH MEMORY

As we say farewell
To those we love
May you find comfort knowing
They’re resting in heaven above

Keep your faith in the Lord
Through this difficult time of pain
Know the Lord is always with you
Whether there is sunshine or rain

This news brought me sadness
Not knowing what to say
You and your family are in my thoughts
For you I will pray

Treasure each memory you have
May this put a smile on your face
Knowing those who leave us
Are in a better place

We don’t say Good Bye
To our Dear Lord we’ll pray
For we’re sure to see our loved ones
again some day

Watching Nick pitch 6 marvelous innings last night was a hard thing for me to see as an Athletics fan. He was an amazing talent and I'm sure his future would have been bright and he would have brought anguish to us A's fans with his great skill. I wish Nick's family the best in this difficult time. I HAD TO GO AWAY

I had to go away.
I'm sorry you couldn't come with me.
But on earth is where you shall stay.
Please do not be sad.
Instead laugh and be glad.
I'm in a beautiful place, such a beautiful place.
I know you wont see me for a while.
But you will hear from me.
I will be the wind that will chill you on a hot summer day.
I will be the sun that will warm you when it's cold.
Listen to the birds sing, I will be saying, "I love you" in their song.
I know you can't touch me.
But you will feel me.
Because I will be inside of you giving you life on the days you feel like you can't go on anymore.
Please I beg of you, go on, live your life as I lived mine.
Always remember we will be together again.
I will be patiently waiting for you on that day.
When you will join me in this beautiful place.
Until then may God bless you with his almighty grace.
