The world has lost an incredible role model and an amazing individual. I will never forget Sven and his unbelievable drive, vision, energy and kindness. Most importantly, I will forever be grateful for his enormous heart. He is responsible for my coming to the United States as a Russian golfer ultimately getting a golf scholarship to college which allowed me to build a successful career in business.

my thoughts to the tumba family and fans worldwide. i remember nordren fishing with sven in the bogs around his country and then eating lversausage and chive sammitches afterward. he was a world class fisherperson, though dealthly afraid of worms. i once scared him with a jelly worm and he hit his head so hard on a post he was unconscious for several hours. since he didnt want it i took his sammitch. he was angry about it when he came to but we laughed about it 14 yrs later when i saw him again. he will be missed.

To Mona and Boys
I met you all through Doug Sanders many years ago. Sven was one of my all time Icons of Sport, he was a wonderful man.

I was blessed with being Sven/s neighbor in Viggbyholm Sweden in 1972-1975. I was a young American renting the house next door which had a golf green in the back yard - as did Mr. Tumba's. He would practice hitting balls from one yard to the other. My wife and Mona car pooled Stefan and Dugan (my son) to school everyday. They were wonderful, wonderful people. Without question, Sven was the most charismatic person I have ever met. He and Mona were so hospitable to my family - I will never forget. Our sincere regrets to Mona and the children. We will miss him.
