I just now found out about Mr. Martinez's passing and I wanted to convey my condolences to all of his family and friends. I went to Jefferson High School in the 70's and Mr. Martinez would sometimes fill in as a subsitute teacher. I didn't even realize he was a coach! He was always kind and always smiling and joking and he made it a pleasure to come to class at a time when I really rather be somewhere else. I will always remember him for the wonderful person that he was! He will be missed, but not forgotten!
I fondly remember Tom Martinez as my brother's baseball coach at Jefferson High School in 1969. That year he helped guide them to a varsity league championship! He was very skilled and a class act off the field. He will be missed by all who knew him
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
The Coach will be missed. May God's promise that he will heal the broken hearted comfort you at this time-Psalm 147:3- Lynn B. Illinois
My condolences to Coach Martinez's family and those whose lives he'd touched. A good name is better than good oil, a wise man once said. Coach Martinez established fine recognition among many and they will forever treasure fond memories of him and put into practice what he taught them.
May peace be with each of you,

Tom was my "coach" in the Woman's Weight Training class at College of San Mateo for several years. My husband played high school football with him. God Bless you, Tom. My prayers to the Martinez Family in their time of grief.
My son Austin was fortunate to have worked with Coach Martinez for the last 2 years for football. Immediately he was very fond of Coach and and even though my son was 13 (15 now) he will always remember what a magnificent person he was and he will be deeply missed by our whole family! We pray for Olivia and the rest of the Martinez family during this time of sorrow.

Coach you will be missed dearly!! Thank you. Softball won't be the same with out you XOXO
Such a great life and better man. We all can learn a lesson from his caring heart, especially when it came to the welfare of kids. Only now will he realize how many lives he impacted as he looks down from heaven and see's all whom he mentored and helped along his life's journey.... Amen to that.
[I never knew the man personally, but know someone who did; and how Tom was so instrumental in his young life; moreso today as an adult. I am moved by the outpouring of love and how he touched lives; it inspires me to go out and make a differencce in a life...]
My sincere condolences to his family and to all that he had coached over the years; especially Tom Brady! Coach Martinez was an amazing man and will forever live in our heart.
To the Martinez Family,
We did not know Mr. Martinez, but learned of his valiant struggle watching Tom Brady. Please know that our family faces the struggle of "waiting for kidney" for my 55 year old brother , who like Mr. Martinez, is loosing the battle. Always know that in his presence on TV, he hs helped to educate more Americans on the importance of organ donaton. Maybe some good will come of this education. We have lost another great American, and we offer our deepest condolences.

My condolences go to the family and friends. I hope that sincere comfort comes from what is spoken there at Daniel 12:2:" And there will be many asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up, these to indefinitely lasting life...
For those of us who've known the Martinez Family, "Big Tom" will always be remembered as a kind and friendly soul. There are too few who mesure up to the mark of gentleman, Mr. Martinez most certainly has. I know he will be greatly missed. sincerly, Rick Wedge

With deepest condolences to the Martinez family during your time of grief...Psalm 46:1...God is for us a refuge and strength, A help that is readily to be found during difficult times...May God provide you with peace and comfort to endure the days ahead.

RIP Coach! If was an honor to be part of your women's basketball team in the 80's. Without your leadership and tough love, many of us would not have excelled to our highest potential. I will forever have fond memories of that time and especially the time we TP'D your house (yes we girls had a wicked sense of humor!). My prayers go out to your loved ones may they find comfort in knowing you are not suffering anymore and that you are at peace

I did not know Mr. Martinez or any of you family members, but his obituary was so beautiful that I had to write and tell you how sorry I am that you have lost this fine man.
I only wish I had known he needed a kidney. I would have given him mine in a heartbeat.
May the Martinez family be assured of the many prayers that are being offered up for them. Tom was the kind of guy that everyone loved. May you find true comfort for your hearts in God's word.
