For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name by ministering and continuing to minister to the holy ones (Hebrews 6:10). Walter will never be forgotten for all the work he did for his "Climbing" community and especially those encouraged and inspired in his care. May God continue to strengthen your family in these “times hard to deal with” (2Tim 3:1), especially without a beloved one such as Walter Bonatti.

To the Bonatti family, you have my condolence. To want to climb mountains is Universal, but to achieve that ambition left to just a few. Walter did indeed leave behind a heartfelt impact, Matthew 17:20 "...For truly I say to you, If you have faith the size of a mustard grain, you will say to this mountain, 'Transfer from here to there,'and it will transfer, and nothing will be impossible for you."
Walter is well remembered...

Although Mr. Bonatti did not die "on the mountain", this is still a very nice sentiment that would apply to his energetic lifestyle...."To die on a mountain is special death reserved for those few among us who have the courage to live beyond the normal boundaries. For those who die, not because of the gradual decline of life, but because of the opposite, that their vitality burned so intensly it burst its mortal container". Author Unknown
