A good friend and shipmate for the years that I was also a Seabee. I have asked for prayers for the repose of his Soul from the Cistercian Sisters of Mount Saint Mary's Abbey. This was their reply: "+M Dear Ron,

eternal and life is immortal in our Risen Lord.

Having Bill in my life for the last 35 years was truly a blessing. From the day he pinned the anchor on it was clear Bill was born to be a Chief! He knew his role and did it well. He was highly respected and sought after by all of us for his counsel and advise. His work with the MCB12 Association was typical for Bill, all in. I will miss you my friend but I know things in Heaven will be much easier with the Master Chief on the job.
May you be at rest in the hands of the Lord. God bless you and your family. All of your brothers in arms will sorely miss you.

From the time we were children to the last time we sat and spent time together we have shared many things and thoughts. Yes Bill was a teacher and he was a Seabee, to me he was THE Seabee. He was quite proud of becoming a Master Chief and rightfully so it was in many ways it was his life's work. He had a passion for this great country of ours and always strived to make it better; and he did. Having Bill as a friend has been one of my greatest joys. I have read all the wonderful sentiments everyone has written and Bill would be pleased that he affected so many people in such a positive way. As for me there is another hole in my heart that will never heal. To you his loving family my wife Martha and I extend our heartfelt condolences. To you the Supreme Commander here stands before you a man who beyond all his accolades and titles cherished Husband, Dad and Pepere above all others. If the true measure of a man is measured by the good he has done to make others lives better here is a man like no other. Fair winds my brother. Maurice Durette,Jr.

Bill will always be with us. We will always hear hearty laughter, laughter that would turn strangers into friends. Bringing people together, creating enthusiasm so all could enjoy, and leading both friends and colleagues to success. These were some of Bill's wonderful gifts. He was overwhelmingly generous, and supportive to all, particularly to those he led in the SEABEES. Dear Friend, How can we miss you if you are always in our thoughts and remembrances going forward?---- The Taylor-Curby Family

I can honestly say that those were some of the happiest years of my life and a great part of that reason was because of Bill. He had the ability of taking you under his wing to help you without letting you think that you were insignificant. He had an incredible sense of humor and was always full of compliments for a job well done. Some of my fondest memories were the little get togethers we had either at Bill & his sweet wife's home or other occasions where we could just let loose and have a great time.
