Dan and I went through boot camp at Parris Island together, under the tender tutelage of D D Barton. :-) He was thoughtful, serious, and supportive. One hell of a good guy.

I had the honor of training Daniel as a warrior to start his military career. I am thankful for men like him who are willing to step up and be the next generation of warriors to keep America the light of freedom in the world. We did not keep in touch but I have read the entries here and I am confident that Daniel is a good man. I look forward to meeting him again and thanking him in person. My condolences to his family. I am thankful that I was able to be a small part of his life. I am sure he is in good company and good hands. Semper Fidelis and God Bless us all with the strength to endure and persevere as he did.
