With admiration and affection to James Woods, for his accomplishments, in and away from Chicago.

One need only enter the Art Institute to realize how fortunate Chicago was to have James Wood as its leader for so many years. The Art Institute was a paradox in that like a fine wine it that got better with age and at the same time it was like a Nouveau wine that was fresh and exciting. One need only pass through the doors on Michigan Avenue and your heart rate and blood pressure would drop. Although the Art Institute was not a church, it was a sacred place that contained great evidence of the glory of The Lord through the work of the countless man and women that gave us great beauty and art. Thank you, James Woods for your vision and spirit that will forever remain in the Art Institute.
