Capt. Lyerly's funeral was my first Patriot Guard Riders mission. I can still remember the Double Taps and the Blackhawk flyover. That year I rode cross country on Run For The Wall www.rftw.org and had the honor of riding in the missing man formation. I swear I could see Capt. Lyerly riding next to me in the missing man spot. It was spooky and calming at the same time. Rest in peace sir. He rides with me now. Never forgotten!

Walt Whitman
"O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done! The ship has weathered every wrack, the prize we sought is won, The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting."

My thoughts are often with you and your family; another year passes and the pain seems a little more bearable. RIP My Friend

To the family and friends of Capt. Sean E. Lyerly:
It has truly been my honor to sign Sean's guest book these past few years. Unfortunately, due to complications from my Multiple Sclerosis, this may be the last message I'm able to write. Please forgive me and know that Sean will always be remembered in my home.
With love and respect ~ Peggy

I was the Chaplain of 36 CAB at the time of Sean's death and responsible for his memorial service in Balad. Rest in peace EASY 4-0. You and your sacrifice are not forgotten.
