In 1980, I worked with one of Phil's daughters (can't remember her name) at
Transamerica Insurance in Dallas. she had many great stories about her dad. All of them were Cub fans, of course!

My father, Russell Scurto, grew up with Phil. He had many fond memories of him and said he was a great guy. They can reminisce together now about the times they played ball as kids. God bless you, Mr. Cavarretta.

I was born in Chicago in 1936, but my family moved to St. Louis when I was an infant. I grew up being a Cubs fan due to my father playing ball in the Cubs minor league organization. He played High School ball against Phil who was a pitcher at the time, at least that is what recall. I also loved to hear anything about my baseball hero, number 44, Phil Cavaretta. I especially remember matching him against the St. Louis hero, Stan Musial, when the Cubs were in town. Many times Phil did not disappoint me. Please rest in peace Phil

I have already left a message, but I just want to say how it warms my heart to see the messages the family are leaving directly to Phil.

With Eternal Life - we never really die - just physically - but our souls go on living at our new Heaven address. YOU all have that down so beautifully. I love reading your comments and I know Phil must love them so much. He was a really great man, wasn't he? Thanks for keeping him alive for all of us! Love, Terry Fenwick
