To the family of SSG Robin Towns on Memorial Day 2014:
My son and I travelled to Long Island, NY this weekend to volunteer and run in the 7th annual US Marine Corps Cpl Christopher G. Scherer "I Did the Grid" 4 Mile Run on May 24 in East Northport, NY. This run is in honor of Cpl Christopher Scherer who was KIA in Operation Iraqi Freedom on July 21, 2007 and all the fallen who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Each runner has four names of fallen service members on their bibs. We were asked to think about and pray for each fallen hero for one of the four miles of the run. SSG Robin Towns' name and service information was on my bib. It was a privilege to run in his honor. SSG Towns is in my heart and prayers this Memorial Day. God bless. Sincerely, Polly Papsadore

I think about you everyday and I will never forget that day. You were a man of true character; a man like no other. Words cannot express the emotions and feelings that I have about your passing but God knows how I feel and hopefully, you do too. Your family is in my prayers.

To the family and wife of SFC Townes. I was a member of the same 275th MP Company as SFC Townes. I trained with him for that mission, slept accross from him during training and in doing this i learned a great deal about him and considered him a true friend and Battle buddy. I use to see him on his laptop every night either emailing his wife or talking to his wife via skype, his desktop had a picture of his wife Sheila on it who i finally had the pleasure of meeting one night while we were both home on leave just b4 departing to iraq. They were with another couple at a Giants grocery store parking lot. I knew right away which was his wife cause of his desktop picture on his laptop. He was a great guy, not a day goes by that i dont think about him. I pray that Gods presence be with you and your family always!
