Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Lafleur Family know that we recently made a small donation to "Operation Home Front" in honor of Jason K. Lafleur US Army Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

I had the honor to lead Jason during OEF. A fine Soldier that everyone looked at to get the job done, and he did. I will never forget the day you left us. It was the hardest day of my life. Gone but never forgotten. Miss you brother.

Well son, I made it through another year of missing you. Not a day goes by, not a minute or second goes by that you are not in my thoughts and in my heart. I thought it would get easier and in some ways it does. But the deep huge hole in my heart is still there. And that's where you and all the memories live. I thank you for being the special man you grew to be. I thank you for leaving me in the care of your friends and brothers who also carries your memories. I thank you for bringing so many into my life to help me navigate this journey. You are missed so much by so many. Continue to watch over Meg, Shannon, Shane, Myah, me and your dad(s) and all you loved. I love you always.

May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. Jason,
It was a privilege working with you for those 4 years at the recycle center. I got to know you outside of work when you used to come over for BBQ's and play horse shoes and during lunch time at work playing basket ball while we listend to Stevie RayVaughn or Los Lonely Boys, FUN times. I never got the chance to tell you that I am proud of you and that you are a hero in my eyes! I remember going to the gym with you 4 days a week to help you get into shape for basic, I could see the determination and drive in your eyes every day. I was suprised when you told me that you were going to be a 19D after you maxed the ASVAB test and you could have gotten any job you wanted but I know that you wanted to be in the action up front. I want to thank you for being there for me when I was having Issues with my P.T.S.D and listening to my stories about Desert Storm, you were the only person I ever told about my experiances over there and you helped me by listening and being a good freind. You are my HERO! Jason and I will always remember you! From one CAV. Scout to another "Brave Rifles"

Jason,
I miss you son. Sitting here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, watching football. Thinking and remembering how you loved sports. How you could always be up to date, no matter where you were.

Josh is with you now. Makes me so sad. I'm glad that you were there to welcome him, but Meg misses him so much. Her pain is so great. I know you will take good care of Josh. And the 2 of you are cutting up and giving each other grief.

Life here is just not the same without you. I miss and love you always.

I salute you Jason K. LaFleur it has been a long time since I even saw your face. I'm kind of lost for words because I just found out about you being in the Army. I always wanted to tell you that I consider you my brother instead of my roommates when we attended OLE MISS. You always spoke your mind no matter how bad the situation was you keep it honest. I love you it. I see you still loved those Longhorns even when we were in oxford(that dam TEXAS hat). I still remember when we had that water fight in dorm room with everyone on the hall including the hall director, Kinard Hall were the doors are always open and the ladies keep up all the commotion. With tears that I shed leave memories and love I will always honor you and your family. You probably would call me a jackass for crying but I love you dude and I will miss u. I salute you with honor the country salute you. Your words always hold your head up high and I will. Thank You

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Jason, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the family of Cpl. Lafleur,
I was involved today in the illinois freedom run to honor our fallen heroes. Upon arrival to the run each rider received a dog tag with a fallen soldiers name engraved on it. I received your sons and with great honor displayed it proudly around my neck for the ride to the wall in marseilles,il. The ceremony that followed our arrival to the wall was a very moving experience. I would like to extend my thoughts and prayers to everyone who knew Cpl. Lafleur. If Cpl. Lafleur family would please get ahold of me via e-mail i would be more than happy to send you Jasons dog tag. God bless you.

In Remembrance of Jason K. LaFleur

Kei and Chuck:

I remember the two of you coming to Ken's and my home after you completed your Military service for the United States. Chuck you were such a changed man after serving your Country. You were much more serious about life; but you still had the boyish giggle. You and Kei formed a union in which you provided a foundation upon which your children, Jason and Megan, grew into great kids. You helped Jason grow and to become the type of man he became. When you two were looking for jobs in Houston shortly after arriving at our house, you were both dedicated, determined, intelligent, professionals, and both of you were working quickly. Chuck, Jason followed in your foot-steps and also helped to protect our country. I am proud to be an American because you both gave; one gave service years, one gave his life. It is an honor to be related to each of you. Chuck,Meagan,Kei,Alan - may your days be filled with good memmories and know that America appreciates the sacrifice you have given. May God bless each of you and God Bless Jason for giving his life for our freedom.

Kei and Chuck:

My tears flow with yours in remembrance of Jason. Though it's been a while since I have seen Jason and Amanda, Jason looks just like Chuck and mother like daughter. I consider us still related even through divorce. I was in San Marcos, TX the day services were held for Jason. I heard the planes flying overhead; but we hear them so often that I had no idea it was for Jason. Needless to say, I missed the service and the opportunity to see you. Kei and Chuck may God grant you peace, our children are His children and they are forever in heaven. You can contact me via e-mail at [email protected]. I'll try and locate you two. Take care and I love you both! Ruth and children (Kim & Jan)grandchildren, (Kami, Kristin, Kenzie, and Simon)

Kei,
It's been years since we last spoke but I do remember your kiddo's as mine was also growing up. From what I have read, your son turned out to be a fine responsible young man and Meagan turned out to be a very thoughtful and loving young lady. I am so sorry to hear about your tragic loss. I can in no way imagine what you and your family are going thru but I know God will give you the strength to continue being the best mother you can possibly be. Holidays will be hard I know, but just remember Jason is standing tall in God's Kingdom looking down at his family. Just sharing great memories together will surround your household with love and warmth which will bring comfort to everyone. You and your family are in my prayers.

Kei, Megan, and Alan,
We are deeply sorry for your loss. Our hearts are very saddened to hear that such a beautiful young man was taken so soon. We feel so blessed to have had the chance to meet him while in Seattle. He immediately warmed our hearts and made a huge impression on us. I can see his beautiful smile while making small talk out on the patio with us during the evening. He was laughing and chuckling with the guys and I remembered what a wonderful blessing it was to have him home with family and friends. And, how lucky we were to have met him. You can tell that he was happy and peaceful cutting up with his sister and mom in the kitchen! It was a special moment and he has touched our lives forever. He will always be in our hearts and memories. He had the best mom, wonderful sister and luckiest step-dad in the world! He also had wonderful family and friends that cared so much for him. We pray that God fills your hearts with strength, peace, and beautiful memories of him. He would want that for you. His spirit will be all around us every day. Even during the tough times, just know that his spirit is hugging you and holding your hand through this all. Take his gift of courage and strength and use it. After all, it was you who orginally taught him how to find it within himself. We love you very much and pray that your hearts will begin to heal.

You are in our hearts and prayers,

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Kei & family,
Please know that all of your friends at SBC/At&t are so sorry for your loss. As usual, word passed quickly, even to those of us that are retired. My cousin was a Viet Nam casualty in 1967 at the age of 19. Our country is a better place for the service they provided.
Know that Jason is in a peaceful place now. My prayers are with you.

Kei,Chuck, and Meg, I am sorry it took so long for me to make an entry in Jason's guest book, but I was at the funeral when I found out about the book and I wanted to do this myself. I don't think I have to tell you what my godson meant to me and my family, He was and will always be our baby just like Meg will. They were more our grandchildren than our godchildren and we love them with all of our hearts. I will never forget Jason and all the things he did to make me laugh through the years. He will always remain a part of my heart and my soul. Now he can watch over his Nany from the heavens as I am sure he will watch over you. I hope God will bless each of you with the courage and the strength to welcome each new day with a smile and a happy heart. Jason was a very special young man and he would not want you to think of him with tears and frowns. He would want you to remember him with laughfter and smiles. He would want you to go on with your lives. My family and myself hope you find peace and love for one another. Love to all of you.

To Jason's family,
I was shocked to find out the news about Jason. I meet him his freshman. Percussion Rules! as we proudly put it. He was a talented and dedicated drummer, yet very playful at times. To him I was "literally" a lot of fun, since my communication skills were only as good as my non-existant ESL class.
He was a very handsome young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay strong and smile when you think of him. I will always admire how brave and willingly he accepted the risk for our freedom.
Con todo mi amor, le pido a Dios que los guie, les de fuerza y los proteja durante esta etapa tan dificil.

Words cannot express how saddened I was to hear of Jason's passing. I got to know Jason in high school. He was a great person that will be missed. I'm thankful for the memories I have of him, even though they are far to few. I'm proud to say that I knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. God Bless you.

Chuck and Family,
I don't quite know what to say…as I wipe tears from eyes…
Please know that my Thoughts and Prayers are with ALL OF YOU at this time. I am so very Honored to have had the opportunity to meet Jason as well as very impressed at what a Wonderful Young Man Jason was, when he came to visit Chuck in Sunnyvale. I can say; I do know how Proud Chuck and his family are of Jason’s accomplishments as I am as well. I’ve worked for the DoD for almost 20 years as a civilian on one of our County’s biggest Submarine Missile Programs and nothing has touched me so deep as hearing of Jason’s fate in Iraq. We can only thank our young and old Service Men and Women for serving their County and Remember the one’s who lost their lives, Lost Them Serving Their County Well.
May God Bless the Lafleur Family in this time of Sorrow and Give Them Strength to Heal.

I remember Jason well, as Matt's friend, along with Ben and Cade and many others whose name's I have forgotten. Jason had that special twinkle in his eye, as you can all see from his picture.

Jason is the truest of American heroes!!! He gave his life for each of us and the freedom we enjoy every day. Thank you, Jason.

Thank you to the LaFleur family for your courage and heroism. You, too, are true American heroes.

As you may recall, our family is military, thus we have a common bond and love that military families share the world over for their servicemen and women.

May the Lord sustain you during this time and may His grace shine upon you. Jason will not be forgotten! Your sacrifice is not in vain -- our daily freedom is because of the many that gave their life, as Jason did, fighting for our freedom.

God Bless You!

Dear Chuck, Kei, Megan and Alan,
Words cannot describe our heartfelt sympathy for your loss of Jason.
Jason, my daughter Briana and I were housemates for two years in Durango, Colorado.
During that time Jason expressed his concern and love for his family. He shared many good memories that he had growing-up in Lockhart; playing sports, Grandma's cooking, Dad's coaching, Mom's unconditional love and Megan's "little sister" antics. He was truly a devoted grandson, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Jason was a wonderful person who's
maturity surpassed his age. He was kind, generous, caring, thoughtful and responsible.
I will always treasure the time that we spent together as he also became part of our family. I will cherish the wonderful and happy memories that I have of Jason. I can still hear his infectious laugh...
Although he loved Durango and the mountains surrounding us. . .his heart was in Texas.
When Jason "joined-up" he knew that he was putting himself in harms way. However, his dedication to protect and defend our country was insurmountable.
Please know that he is loved and appreciated by many in our community for not only making the ultimate sacrifice, but for his loving and generous friendship.
With affection and deep sympathy, we hope that your fond memories of Jason will give you strength during this difficult time.
Our prayers are with you and Jason,
Sally Silva, Joe Silva, Briana Kneier and Carter Anderson

Another Fallen Hero ~

My heart breaks as I sign another guestbook of such a courageous soldier who gave his life so selflessly. May he rest in peace knowing that he is loved and remembered by those who knew him. God Bless this soldier and his family who gave all and made the ultimate sacrifice. May God grant you peace, strength and comfort in such a difficult time. My deepest condolences and prayers are with the entire family.

We understand what you are experiencing and feeling. No amount of words can ease the pain of your loss. We know first hand there are no words of comfort at this time. We lost our only son 9-3-2004 at the age of 19 and it fells like yesterday. Just know that there are Marines and families across the USA who is experiencing your loss and pain. You are not alone. We will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes.

I still fly my Marine flag and have my Marine tag and sticker on my vehicles because I'm PROUD of my SON and DAUGHTER, and all the SERVICE MEN and WOMEN out there. We will always be a MARINE. We are proud of you all. “Land of the Free, Because of the Brave”

Thank you Legacy.com for setting up this website so families can quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves across this great nation.
