I would like to offer my condolences to the Inouye family for their loss. Senator Inouye was an outstanding advocate for Hawaii during his years in Washington, and he will be greatly missed here. On a more personal note, I am grateful to him for having been a wonderful mentor to my late husband, Hawaii State Senator Anson Chong, who once worked as an aide in Senator Inouye's office and held him in greatest esteem. Aloha, Senator Inouye.
