You brought so much pride and unity to our people, always a positive outlook, showed off our beauty and style, and who could Max and relax, style and profile and come chillin like a villain better than the "DON" himself!! And that voice...i dont care where you were,,when you heard the baritone, you knew something good was coming. May God continue to bless the Cornelius Family; please let your memories of our soul brother comfort you in your time of sorrow and make you smile again. The family of Mr. Don Cornelius has my deepest and warmest sympathy. Having grown up in Gary, Indiana, I followed Soul Train from its inception. Don Cornelius helped give the nation unity and I am grateful to him for that. One of my favs about Mr. Cornelius was the way he dressed. He absolutely styled! You are resting now Mr. Don Cornelius "you can bet your last money" on that one. We thank you for being a pioneer and we thank you for being you!

I loved Soul train from its early conception on TV. Even my children would eagerly finish their chores so they could see this wonderful program. The latest styles and dances would be copied. Loved the various artists that appeared on the show. Mr. Cornelius you will be missed by every family that grew up in this era. To the family our deepest sympathy. We loved him dearly!

Thank you for our Soul Train legacy. Soul Train will forever be part of our heritage. Don is a standard of excellence to be emulated. You showed the world our dancing, music, singers, song writers are all beautiful. May your loved ones find comfort and peace in the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. I will always cherish the memories of joy you brought into our homes.

I remember when Soul Train came out back in the 70s. In New York, we would watch you and American Bandstand back to back. I was ever grateful for it because this was the pre video days. other than the radio, Right On, Ebony and other magazines there, you could actually look on Soul Train, catch the latest dances and see the groups. That was a blessing to black people for over 35 years, a seed planted by this great man, and I am eternally grateful to Don Cornelius for that. When I heard of your passing, I wanted to jump up and say man, Don Cornelius is dead but I'm almost 50, most of the kids around here, they don't know and it grieved me. Grieved me to know a man who thought of such a show is now gone. I salute and thank you Don. Peace.
