I loved his work and thought him to be a man with a great sense of humor. My family read the book at the same time and it gave us several hours of laughter & tears.
My mother would read Angela's Ashes and cry. She is a first generation American whose parents were from County Cork and Derry, and she would say his parents embodied her own. I read the book and felt connected to family I never met. He was a great writer and his book will be read for a long time. What a contribution. He will be missed.
We offer our deep sympathy and condolences to your family. "GOD is near to those broken and heart...and He saves." Psalms 34:18
I love and admire Mr. McCourt's work truly true talent. He will be missed.

He spoke such truth in his writing. Mr. McCourt's book, "Angela's Ashes", was actually crucial in my meeting my husband. We named our first child Malachy to honor the impact Frank's book had on us.
May God continue to bless Mr. McCourt in Heaven.
I so enjoyed reading Frank's books. I cried and laughed out loud. I will miss not having more Mccourt adventures to read about. God bless you. You deserve in a place in heaven.
I am saddened beyond belief. His life was a gift to all of us who chose to read his books or hear the narrative of his work. He put faces on and gave personalities to the struggling Catholic people who lived in the poor villages of Ireland at that time, and especially the members of his family. I am certain the prosperous adults who were fortunate to be his students have fond memories of him as well. I hope they share them in this guest book.
My prayers go to all surviving family members. Rest assured, he is at peace.
R.I.P. Mr. McCourt,
