We are truly saddened to hear of Fred's passing. With a combined 64 years of service, we have many wonderful memories and experiences and we are thankful for the opportunities we had throughout our careers at Meijer and having been part of the Meijer family. Fred's down to earth style, sincerity and forthrightness will long be remembered. His contributions to the community including the Meijer Gardens, the Meijer Heart Center and so much more will live on for many many years. We always enjoyed running into Fred and Lena when we went back to Michigan for our family visits. We also enjoy visiting the Gardens on many of our trips back as well as riding our bikes on the White Pines Trail. Thank you Fred for your vision. You have left a tremendous legacy to the community and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lena, Hank, Doug, Mark and the family.
