How I miss this man that God blessed me to have as a younger brother. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him, cry for him or call out for him. I miss him so... Much, God chose my birthday to pick him up to his final destination. I know one day we will be reunited and it will be forever this time. A big chunk of my heart was buried with you and nothing and no one can ever make it whole again. I love you bro...

I am very sorry for your loss, he is a true hero just like my brother. I lost my brother too about a month ago, Army spc Vilmar Galarza. They were both deployed at the same time and belonged to the same unit in fort lewis.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms, SPC Gerardo Campos, U.S. Army. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Gerardo. And to Gerardo it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. Gerardo you gave the last full measure of devotion for what you believed in and fought for. No greater love and patriotism are shown than when a man lays down his life in service to his country. Gerardo, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
