Helen Gurley Brown understood millions of women who liked men too much to be strident feminists, and liked life too much to be housewives. Obviously, she was a single girl's best friend and got many of us through a lonely night with her unflagging optimism and flirty attitude. While some people didn't take her seriously, her millions of readers certainly did. She gave us all something to aspire to and taught us to create an exciting life and not settle for whatever life handed you. She lived her philosophy, and that's why it rang true. I hope she is reunited with her beloved David and is at peace.
