Its almost been a year since Mr. Escalante passed and yet his lessons continue to resonate in my life 20 years after. I truly would like to tell his family that I am so thankful to them for sharing him with his students. When he was at school he was always on! But twenty years ago I didn't much wonder about what he did when he went home. You were truly his support. Thank You, Thank You!

As an educator, teaching English at a very challenging school, I often used "Stand and Deliver" as a tool to inspire my students to work to their full potential. I was very saddened to know that Mr. Escalante had indeed passed away! He was a great teacher, and because of him, I go to school everyday with the sole purpose of educating and inspiring my own students. Thank you Mr. Escalante!! R.I.P.

What measures the worth of a man's life? Is the legacy he leaves behind for others to grow on. Mr. Escalante has left alot for many to follow as an example when it come to dealing with people from all backgrounds. He saw what could be and he work toward that goal. My condolences to the Escalante family.

He is healing the broken hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots.

To the Escalante Family,
You have my deep sympathy and condolence on the loss of your loved one.
One of a teachers best tools is the ability to adapt to their surroundings and still accomplish what they set out to do. Jaime proved this fact all the days that he taught.
The Apostle Paul proved this at 1 Corinthians 9:22,23:...I have become all things to people of all sorts, that I might by all means save some... for the sake of the good news...
May that good news found at John 3:17, help your family as it has helped countless others.

As an educator I use the movie "Stand and Deliver" to inspire my students and my own children. Jaime Escalante will live through his students and his movie that continues to touch many lives. My deepest condolences to his family. We are all truly blessed because you allowed him to share his gift with all of us.

Though I never had the honor of meeting Jaime Escalante personally, I always admired him from afar because of his ability to triumph in teaching inner-city students whom I also teach. The movie, "Stand and Deliver" that portrays Escalante's teaching has been popular amongst the Mathematics Departments in the schools where I have taught in L.A. County. It introduces human problems and conditions as well as offers the possibility of student success inspiring both educators and students.

I never knew Jaime Escalante, nor did I see the movie, "Stand and Deliver." However, Jaime Escalante was an inspiration to me as a Simi Valley educator, as was he an inspiration to ALL educators. The many times he was featured in the news and in specials...his story would help to make a difficult job workable. May he rest in peace, as he was a giant in the field of education.
