Currently dealing with problems of my own I turned to what usually helps take me away. Reading the AJC sports section helps remind me of happy times in the past. After reading the headline of Jason's passing, I thought it was ironic that in my state of mind this would be the first thing that I run into.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, however; as overused as that saying goes. In searching to get away from my struggles in life I found the answer in the end of someone else's.

I don't mean to draw attention to myself as this is far from what I indend to do with this entry. In fact I will probably rethink submitting this entry altogether. My only intention is to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Collier family as well as my condolences.

Unlike some others, I'm not a family friend; I didn't attend the same schools as Jason; I didn't even get a chance to watch him play in a Hawks uniform. But even still, Jason managed to have just as big an impact on my life nonetheless.

My condolences go out to the Collier family, but rest assured that death only robs us of someone's physical being. I can assure you that Jason's spirit will live on.

Best wishes,
