Dear Jeff's family and friends: I was very sad to hear of Jeff's tragic accident. My condolances to all of you. I saw him speak at a book fair at the Jewish Community Center in Indianapolis, IN. He spoke to me very graciously and we traded many quick ideas and sound bytes. The last lecture has much of Jeffery's writing and very much moved me. My most sincerely thoughts.

PS in his lectures he always speaks so well of his family.

I loved the Sun-times when it contained Mr. Zaslow's column. Those were the good ol' days. Miss you, Jeff. Rest with God.

I'm so shocked and saddened by this loss... What a kind soul. I didn't know Jeff well but he was kind enough to call into my book club and answer questions we had about The Girls From Ames. We exchanged correspondence afterwards and I shared some of my life story with him which he thought might be fodder for a story once he returned to the WSJ. Even from the few times we talked and the few exchanges of emails I knew I was engaging with someone special. Hearing about his tragic death jarred my soul. The world has lost a wonderful human being. I pray for his wife and 3 beautiful daughters who have lost the most...

I met Jeffrey about 15 years ago when he was at an event in Marblehead, MA. He was lovely. My sympathies go out to his family and friends. - AK, Massachusetts.

I remember Jeff from our days together at Carnegie-Mellon University. He was a Pi Lambda Phi and I was a friend of the house. I remember him being involved with the school paper, the Tartan.

I followed his career, remembering when he won the contest to replace Ann Landers as an advice columnist, and read "The Last Lecture."

He will be missed.

I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear just today of Mr. Zaslow's passing. I participated in his letters to Santa program - he did so much good for people. A wonderful being. My sincere sympathy goes out to Jeff's family and friends.

My sympathy goes out to Jeff's family. The world is also grieving for the loss of a great writer. He had the privilege of helping many famous people tell their stories to those of us who were interested in learning more. I met him at a book-signing for "The Last Lecture" in Cedar Rapids, IA. I'm reading "The Magic Room" now and didn't realize that he'd written the book until I received it. What a treat, but I'm sure that he was looking forward to the day when he'd walk his daughters down the aisle to meet their groom. He seemed to have so much love and empathy for the folks that he helped write their story. I'm looking forward to reading "Gabby" now. May the Lord bless his family at this very difficult time. Treasure his writings as he put so much of himself into them.

My heart goes out to the family of Mr. Zaslow. I loved the book, The Last Lecture, and know he must have been an amazing husband and father. May the Lord comfort his family and give them peace. I know his legacy will live on in you. He must be interviewing Randy right now in heaven.
