My heartfelt sympathy to the Frazier's. All of us in the Delaware Valley will miss him and mourn his loss - he was a great man, whose character, leadership and achievements went far beyond sports. When I watch the movie Rocky and Joe walks out, I am still filled with pride to have known his family, and to have played football against his son Marvis, who became a religious man, a lot like myself, only tougher as he's a Frazier. I am reminded of Joe when I visit my old gym in South Philadelphia. I wish I had grown up in such a family. God Bless the Frazier's and all who mourn his loss, and thanks for giving Philadephia and the Whitemarsh Valley area a larger sense of belonging in the midst of your fame and achievments.
PS Sorry, I had written this in two pieces and did not post it all the first time.

I grew up watching Joe Frazier boxing, Joe was the Greatest Boxer ever to me, better than Ali. He was fearless, the way he kept coming at you and take 3 punches to throw 1. He was modest and just went out and fought, nothing flashy. He would just go out and destroy his opponent. Joe was my all-time favorite boxer(always was and always will) Rest in Peace Smokin Joe, you deserve it. God Bless to his family.Dan Didario, Monroe, MI.

I remember betting my brother $20.00 on that fight. My brother was at work and I listened on the radio. I was so excited that Joe won I had to call and rub it in. My brother wouldn"t take the call. Joe to me WAS the greatest and will always be the greatest. Rest in peace Smokin Joe. My brother to this day has not paid me that $20.00. Erv Miksch (New London, Ia.)
