Katie Hall

I am sorry that such a great Lady of compassionate dedication to her community, state and the nation died at this crucial time she should be resting peacefully at home to give advice and support to the present and the future leaders at all levels of government from her commendable experience in the US political activities. Whichever way we look at it, you are a Heroine. You have won for yourself a political credit as a brave and committed member of the congress and your trophy remains in the history as the first female African-American representing Indiana until this world is over. You love human rights and you won it for the recognition of Martin Luther King as one of the world greatest social activists. We love you here in Nigeria, and we are proud of you and your longtime involvement in promoting the course for the advancement of African -Americans, the Black in general and America at large. I pray you rest in a peaceful abode in the Hands of God and be granted God's forgiveness to dwell forever in Paradise. All you left behind including my friend Junifer Detrice Hall, her sister, Jacqueline Demetrius Hall and all other members of the family will be peaceful at all times under the protection of God, amen. May you rest in peace, we shall all miss you and you would be remembered always in our prayers. Rest in Peace!

I would first like to say that the more I have learned about the lovely Attorney Katie Hall the more I began to cry. I am Attorney Hall great-niece (granddaughter of her sister Joyce Green) and I am astound by the things I recently learned. Attorney Hall was an African American woman who, through hard work and dedication to her community, has managed to become apart of American History. I love the woman you were and you've touched my heart in the most amazing way. You have inspired me to learn more about my family history and you also taught me that there are positive women I can look up to in my family. Even though I didn't know you very well my love for you is just as strong as the family members that have been around you there whole life. You will always and forever be in my heart.

My sympathy, prayers and love go out to the family. May the peace of our LORD be with the family, Bessie Protho Watkins and family.

My sympathy I extend to the Hall Family. Katie was a loving, kind and humble person. I'll always remember the years growing up with the family at Van Buren Church, and Katie babysitting my sister and I. May your hearts be comforted knowing she now is at rest, and the loving pleasure she shared with us all through her works.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Hall Family: Katie was a kind and loving person. I remember her from years of service with the Van Buren church, the Gary Community, Washington, D.C. and the world. We are a little better because of the course she took to assure that King's birthday would be stamped in our history books. What a wonderful testimony of a life. May she rest in peace and may we all continue to remember her.

Katie will be missed by many relatives and family friends. I will have the memories of the times when I was small and my brother and I would attend Van Burean church with you all. I remember times going to your house for dinners and much more. After becoming an adult the visits of course changed due to me not living around you but I still remember that smile that you always had. May cousin Katie rest in peace and cousin John and the girls accept that you have gone on to a better place of peace.

We would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of Mrs. Katie Hall. Mrs. Hall was a wonderful lady, always helpful to others in Gary as well as the time she spent in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Hall made a difference in all our lives when she became very instrumental in the passing of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. We all loved her and will miss her. To the Hall family, I want to express my deepest condolences. Mrs. Hall provided many opportunities to my family over the decades, and I'm sure many others in Gary have experienced the same. She has left an indelible mark on the lives of the young people she taught and advised, and her legacy is nothing short of heroic. Prayers to the family and close friends.

I worked with Mrs. Katie Hall for a few summers during my years after High school at the Gary Clerk's Office. She was always a positive, upbeat, accomplished and professional person. When Mrs. Hall wanted something done it was getting done. Hearing her background on breaking barriers and meeting her she was definitely inspirational to me at a crucial point in my life after high school.
