That was truly life changing for me. I was only 11 years old sitting on my roof watching the water rise. I lost many friends and family. But Mississippi is slowly rebuilding. Now being 16 and looking back, I see how my lifes course was changes. It was terrifying for me. But I had my family. and somehow down the road i ended up in texas. Bay St Louis is a far way from texas.

To all of the victims of this terrible tragedy, my heart still goes out to you and always will. My 52 year old father stayed and was killed in Lakeview. Life goes on but has been changed forever. My fellow New Orleanians, please remember to love each other every day, look beyond color and stay united. Sending my love to you all,

I lost 2 family members,home(rented10yrs.)in,My adult children are scattered.Broke down at my job and had to leave out before buckling.Have lived in 5 diff. homes till now.BUT,flood gates opened for my extended family to now ALL stay in touch.Have learned how to use this technology of cyber chats to keep up with all.Don't think I'll ever get through it,but,I do.Survivor!

Mother and I, along with 7 cats survived Hurricane Katrina. Only 2 of the 7 cats are still with us. Mother turned 90 in September.
Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones due to Katrina as well to those friends who survived...

I went thru Charley and lost my home but that is nothing compared to the survivors of Katrina my heart goes out to them. Hope they are doing well and adjusting even after 5 years there is a lot of sorry involved God Bless you all Helen Munger Punta Gorda Florida.

I am a HURRICANE KATRINA survivor from Gulfport, Ms. yes I lived there and after it and husband and I were still alive we moved back to Mo. yes it was an expierience and won't forget it.
