Not only was he a great basketball player, but he was an inspiration to old and young alike. He will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on forever. I know God has a special place for him in Heaven, plus I will get to see him and hug him then.
Thank you for representing Oklahoma with such grace and beauty. You were truly a great human being.

WAYMAN WAS MY FAVORITE OU BASKETBALL PLAYER OF ALL TIME! I REMEMBER THAT HE WAS FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN AS A FRESHMAN & THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME EVER! HE WOULD OF BEEN ALL-AMERICAN ALL 4 YEARS IF WOULD HAVE STAYED. HE HAD A CONTAGIOUS SMILE THAT THAT MADE THE GAME FUN TO WATCH. I REMEMBER WHEN I GOT A SIGNED PHOTO FROM HIM & i WAS SOOO EXCITED. HE WILL BE MISSED TREMENDOUSLY BY ME, THE SOONER FANS & SPORTS FANS IN GENERAL, THE MUSIC INDUSTRY & THE PEOPLE HE TOUCHED BY HIS PLAY IN SPORTS & MUSIC.
In all my years of working with and loving the Sooner athletic program I have never met a person who was as nice to everyone and had so much love in his heart. He was and always will be an Oklahoma treasure and will be missed by all. God bless Wayman and his family.
