July 18, 2017
On 2nd July, we lost one of our nearest and dearest.

A wonderful service was held on 18th July (then today) to a wonderful individual - but not just any individual - but a loving and much loved mam, Nan and friend.

I will never ever forget the fact that she looked after me from being almost 16 weeks old to being 16 years old when I left school. We were always close and that closeness reflected the sincerity of our relationship.

To say goodbye today to one of the greatest rocks in my lifetime so far was indescribably disheartening and although I always look ahead, I will always look back to the great rollercoaster of a journey we spent together.

Before I conclude, I would like to thank everyone who attended the funeral service. Everyone has stories to tell with such a blessing soul and yes, my Nan had her own rollercoaster of a life; of triumphs & tragedies, of positives & negatives, and of testing times. However, with all this to bare, she always pushed on. And that is something greatly admirable.

Now that I do conclude, I would like to leave a quote by Dr Seuss: "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

Love you forever and always Nan. In loving memory. X
