Shirley KIng Obituary

NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Shirley May Massengale King, 35 of New Tazewell, TN formerly of Verda, KY died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Shirley was born April 8, 1979 to Jeffery and Velma Massengale of Verda, KY. She loved growing flowers and gardening; love the outdoors; she enjoyed helping her husband coach and with the kids sports activities. She loved her family.

Preceding her in death were her grandmother, Shirley Cremeens; special uncle, Glen Rohrer; and grandparents, Gertrude and Lummy Massengale. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Jess C. King, Jr. of New Tazewell, TN; sons, Jess C. King, III and Wesley James King both of New Tazewell; one sister, Betty (Keith) Johnson of Kildav, KY; grandfather, Wesley A. (and friend Sandra) Stoner of Greenville, NC; and mother and father-in-law, Helen and Jess C. King, Sr. of Tazewell, TN. Several other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM, Monday, also in the chapel of Anderson-Laws and Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Jones will be officiating the services.

Interment will follow the funeral in the Evarts Memorial Gardens in Evarts, KY.

Velma and all of your family,
We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved Shirley. She was such a beautiful little girl growing up with a smile that lit up any room, and as I see her latest photo, she is a beautiful woman.
