This year marks the passing of two of baseball's great announcers, George Kell, and now, Harry Kalas.
We here in the Detroit area loved the homespun, folksy style that George Kell brought to his broadcasts.
I believe that the Phillies fans also had the same love for Harry Kalas, a man blessed with a most beautiful voice for broadcasting.
I always enjoyed Harry's narrations for NFL Films over these last 30 plus years, and his fellow sportscasters are flying their own flags at half mast in sorrow.
May God's love sustain the family at this time, and I hope they know that sports fans everywhere in America also grieve the loss of this fine gentleman.
