To the McDonnell family,

The loss of Grace has broken our hearts. It is hard to find the right words but I can say this. We never met her but we love her. An angel on earth and an angel in Heaven. Please never think even many months from now that we will stop loving her or her family. The day will come when you are reunited with her and you will be in perfect bliss with her for eternity.

We love you all.

Charles and family

I am so sorry for your lost! What a beautiful little girl taken far to soon. She will be a bright light at the Children's Memorial in Edgartown. I will think of her smile when I am at the Lighthouse. May God Bless you!

I cannot stop thinking about sweet Grace and her wonderful family. I watched the interview with Anderson Cooper and while the parents were both so strong and seemingly dry eyed while speaking of their Gracie Girl, I was not! I cried like a baby, or rather a mom that imagined (if that is even possible!) losing my own precious daughter. It is my worst, worst fear in life. We suffered a house fire 3 years ago during the night and my husband and I grabbed our then 7 year old daughter and our then 9 year old Down syndrome son and ran out the front door in our pj's. Mary, our daughter told me "don't worry mom, the most important things were saved, US!" And yet, as I think back on how we watched for 3 1/2 hours as our house burned to a 4 alarm fire with 8 cities 15 fire trucks and over 100 firefighters, it doesn't compare to your nightmare, we lost material items. You lost an irreplaceable LIFE! I pray for your family, I pray that you will seek guidance, especially for precious Jack for you won't know for some time how this will affect him. I vow to help whatever cause you creat in Grace's honor as YOU are someone we all should have as a friend, you are unbelievable! Lynn, you especially touched my heart as one mom to another. Grace will continue to speak to you in little ways, just keep your eyes and your heart open to her signs. Love to your family and all the prayers I can pray!
