I had the pleasure of seeing my friend John nearly every morning at my store, Winsted Super Saver here on Main St. John was a great friend of my aunt Doris Sweetman and your sweet mother Sadie was a good friend of my mothers (Betty Dwan) at Oliver Wolcott Tech before she was a great friend and supporter of mine. I hope the wonderful memories of these outstanding people will sustain the entire Groppo family. They will forever be in my prayers.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with John Groppo for many years. His honesty and good will were as enduring as the stone wall he so carefully built. May God bless him.
To the Groppo family, I am very sorry for the loss of your wonderful father, John.

Now he is with Aunt Sadie and all of his buddies! And he sure did have many of those. I didn't see him much the past years but he was and always be included in my prayers. What a wonderful man.
John Groppo - a molder of men and stone. I was lucky to have been on his legislative staff in the 1980's. He and his wife Sadie lead by example and I will always treasure our times together
