Softly Sprinkled Rain
By Greg O'Brien

A flower closes
as it dances on a twilight breeze
the clouds float by
as the sun says goodnight
and nothing seems changed
as the glow fades from sight
But this day is different
because of one silenced voice
a loved one has left us
and we're faced with a choice
Do we renew our faith
and be thankful for time
or simply grieve with questions
and look for a sign
For it can be easy to show anger
or perhaps to feel blame
but instead simply remember
as you whisper their name
Strive to remember the joy
of the laughter once shared
and to make them a promise
that they'll always be here
That you will include them in thought
as each new day dawns
whispering their name softly
as each day rolls on
For they will surely return this favor
as they help ease your pain
by opening flowers with gentle breezes
and softly sprinkled rain

Ted will be missed by his family & friends. He was a man for all seasons & he really cared about everyone he came in contact. My Father-In-Law, Herb Weaver worked with Ted as a selectman in Burlington. He loved Ted like a son and thought of him as a great civic example of what a citizen should be like. Ted was a great man.

Ted's passing is a huge loss for the Town of Burlington and it's residents. He truly was Mr. Burlington - the town and the people who live there always seemed to come before anything else. He was a friend to all and will be sorely missed.

Denise & The Scheidel Family, I was very saddened to hear of your loss of my friend and former co-worker at CBT. Ted was a peoples person; a man who loved people, and in return people loved him. I remember going to the little fire house in New Hartford with Ted to meet Ella Grasso (before she became Gov.)and I think I was more impressed with Ted because he knew her and introduced me using her first name! I called Ted some years ago to ask his opinion on a matter and, of course, we ended up laughing. While I did not see Ted often, he will always be one of the very special people in my life. He always spoke highly of his family and especially you, Denise. My heartfelt condolences to all.

We will always remember Teddy for the kindness he showed to all and his commitment to serving the residents of Burlington. He was also there when you had a problem or just needed someone to listen. He loved being a part of the everyday life of Burlington and yes attended every one of the Flag Day ceremonies. We will always keep a special place in our hearts for Teddy.
