I've only had the pleasure of meeting a few absolutely amazing women in my lifetime. Alicia was one of the women. It's painful to know that Alicia is gone. I loved talking with her and receiving advise and wisdom from her. It was painful losing William Sherman (Bill) and now Alicia so soon afterward. Her faith in God was strong so I know she's in heaven, but I still miss her here on earth. Alicia I will always love you. I know you're a heavenly Angel now.
Dear Cross Family,
What a shock to read about Vivian's passing in the HFT newsletter! She and Bill were a great couple. I used to run into them at BJ's and we would talk for long moments. My heart goes out to you. What a loss. May God comfort you.
In Christian love,
We have lost a remarkable woman whose work demonstrated the power of one person to make a difference. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Vivian Cross on CDC's Lead Education Workgroup and have seen her passion and dedication to ensure that our public schools provide adequate educational opportunities for children who were exposed to lead hazards in their homes and communities. Her work has inspired interest and action across the country and she will be greatly missed. My condolences and best wishes to Family and friends.
Sis Cross was the a very beautiful person that I ever known, her smile and her hugs will be miss greatly. her life thought me a lesson, how to be kind and humble to others.
My Auntie was my hero. She brought me to the Lord and taught me how to love God and myself. She was a prayer warrior to all of us and I will miss her so much. I have comfort in knowing she is where she taught all of us to strive to be - in Heaven with Our Lord God and Saviour.
We share many loving memories of Sis Cross over the past 38 years. She has been a friend, and a strong pillar who has supported so many of us at different times and in different ways. We will miss her very much!
I met Dr. Vivian Cross several years ago at CDC networking conference on Lead Poisoning Dr. Cross was very passionate about protecting the health and well-being of children with lead poisoning. She was a pioneer in education on the adverse neurobehavioral risk of lead poisoning on young children. She will be missed by all in the lead poisoning prevention community.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Dr. Cross was an amazing woman. Always willing to help and provide support wherever she was needed. I am very saddened to hear of her passing. We will continue to work to end childhood lead poisoning and try to follow in her footsteps and aspire to achieve her level of unfailing dedication. She was, and will continue to be, a great inspiration to me. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. Michele Gaffney
Sister Cross was my inspiration she always had an in outraging word for. When Brother Cross passed she took up where he left off with me. I also had the pleasure of working with her in the LESS tutoring program at church. My heart hurts and I love her and miss her but I know she is where she wants to be. Until we meet again.
Vivian an exemplary mother, teacher, consultant about FIE. It was a pleasure knowing you and working with you.

My dear friend, Tina,
Words can not express how I feel about Alicia's passing. She meant so much to you and the rest of her family, church members, and all that knew her. Her contributions and good works are legendary and we all know how much she loved Jesus.
Wishing you and the rest of the family God's peace and to give you the strength and faith that is needed at this time.
Tina, you know that I am here for you and all you have to is to call me.

Dr. Cross: My teacher, my friend and my mentor; I'm blessed to have walked through the pages of your life over the years. You were an extraordinary woman in all aspects of your life and I absolutly loved the way you loved God. Your boldness for carrying out the Great Commission was amazing. My family and I were truly blessed to be a part of your life; I am sadden by your passing but I am confident that when you entered the gates of heaven our Father's words to you were, "well done my good and faithful servant." Family and friends be comforted because Miss Cross is at peace and resting in our Father's bossom. Peace.
I remember Dear Sister Cross as a model of both humility and achievement, a beautiful strong woman with the all the tenderness of a true lover of Jesus. I am thankful to have known her in this life, til we meet again.
Along with all her accomplishments Sister Cross still found the time to be a dearest friend to us. She will be greatly missed in our home but never forgotten. Our love and prayers are with the family. Nate & Cris Mack and Family.
This beautiful woman also impacted my life with her wisdom and sharing her experiences as a young woman - on her educational journey as well. She was a marvel to watch, such a faithful, devoted woman of God, through the loss of her husband, and then even through sickness herself - to still pray for others at the altars of God. She has inspired my life in countless ways. I love you Sister Cross, and though our hearts are hurting - we shall surely meet again!! xoxoxo
