Nick and family, so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you at this difficult time. Alison (MAT)

Although I do not know your family and did not know your son, I was deeply touched when reading about him and his courageous valor. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how truely sorry that I am for your loss. Steve shall never be forgotten.

May God bless the family & friends of Steven. I'm very sorry for your loss. And I thank Steven for his service to OUR country. I pray that peace be with you and it be a comfort to know that people share in the sorrow of your loss. Sincerely, Sammy K. (a friend you haven't met yet.) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever Psalm 23:6

Dear Friends and Neighbors of SGT Steven DeLuzio,
It is with such great pride that we want to thank the greater Glastonbury community for the outpouring of support shown to our family during the most difficult time in our lives. The names and faces of all those who attended Steven’s services may fade over time but the swell of pride knowing that he was so admired will be a treasure forever. Those of you who were holding flags, homemade signs, and banners along the funeral procession brought tears to our eyes but also comfort in the knowledge that one life matters not only to the family and friends but to our country. There is no way that we can mention all of those who have shown their support and perhaps we shouldn’t even try but we would feel remiss if we didn’t publicly mention a few groups who were so supportive. As you know, we lost our precious son but we have been comforted by the love shown by his GHS friends, JH Cohn family, Glastonbury Little League, Gov. M. Jodi Rell’s office, the friends of GHS hockey, St. Paul and St. Dunstan Churches, CT State Police, Glastonbury Police Department, Patriot Riders, CT Fire Departments, and the Vermont and Connecticut Armed Services Personnel. Eventually, we hope to acknowledge each and every one with a personal note but wanted the community to know that your support will always be remembered. We have come to understand that Steven has left a lasting impression on children and adults alike through his dedication to causes greater than himself. Please know that we believe Steven’s blessing for us is to remain inspired by his actions and to continue his legacy of giving back to the community unselfishly so that his spirit will live on forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us all to remember that Steven touched so many lives in such a positive way in his all too short life. We will continue to remember his spirit and zest for life through those lives that he has touched.
