I will always remember John's intense conversations with me about the Lord. And all the laughter we shared together. .. In deepest sorrow, love always, Maggie. .

My beloved art teacher, your notes of encouragement to the last will be sorely missed. You had a hand in the artist I have become and I am forever grateful. RIP John Just.

Dear Sandy, Becky & Tim,
it is so dicciult to express my deep sorrow at the loss of my beloved teacher from the old Hartford High, but more so, the friendship we established and cultivated since 1958 was such a wonderful and everlasting gift as we saw each other frequently and stayed in touch in many ways and I was proud that he and your Mom were able to be at our wedding in 2001. I have written of the influence Mr. Ellis had on me as a youngster from Italy (where he had served in WW II) trying to be an artist and he pushed me to my limits. He will be always remembered by me and my entire family who first had the pleasure and honor to meet him at our home so long ago. He left a wonderful legacy and remains one of the best of the greatest generation. God Bless you all and keep you in this period of sorrow. Rest in Peace, Mr. Ellis.
Your forever student,

Sandra, Becky, and Tim, I am very sorry of the loss of your Father, John. I saw him many times at Valley Baptist Church where I go many Sundays...
