Over 40 years ago Hutch lit a fire inside me that burns to this day. While other interests of mine wax and wane, running has remained like him, sure and steady. Would I have discovered this life-long passion had it not been for Hutch? Maybe. More likely not. I carry the memory of him every time I lace up my shoes. Thank you Coach.

Wow. What to say. Hutch was an inspiration to so many of us at THS. His work ethic was unmatchable and it transcended to all of us on the cross county team, both the boys and girls. He instilled in us the "never give up" attitude, which in turn, developed some of the best runners in the state. His legacy is seen in the adults he helped mold into today's leaders. As for me personally, in a small way he is responsible for my happiness, as I met my husband Gary while running for the THS cross county team. We are forever grateful for his influence on our lives.

He drove me to the Manchester Thankgiving road race in 1971 in a big snowstorm. He had a white Jeep and we (he) drove it through some mighty piles of snow. And we ran the plowed streets of Manchester. Thank you, Hutch.
