MARINO, Carmelo "Peter"
Carmelo "Peter" Marino, 68 of Middletown, died Saturday, (August 17, 2013). He was born Jan. 9, 1945 in Middletown, the son of the late Carmelo "Noc" and Belle (Pianka) Marino. Peter graduated from Middletown High School in 1963 where he was a star athlete in basketball and track. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a machinist at Standard Knapp and as a trainer at Gold's Gym. Peter was a loving father, devoted grandfather and loyal friend. He enjoyed bodybuilding, playing pool, and deep philosophical discussions. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Fleisher and her husband Adam of Fairfield and Kimberly Monte and her husband Eric of Tomball, TX his grandchildren, Dean and Luke Fleisher and Grace and David Monte; sisters, Frances Vinci of Pensacola, FL and Barbara Ferguson and her husband Donald of Middlefield and numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friends Barry Leeds and John Greene.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St., Middletown. Burial with military honors will be at the State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
